Such fun, great people all around. Excitment everywhere. Car shows, a super tower (456 steps just to the top)to over see everything and so many people prepping their cars. A very laid back fun place.
I love going the on a event day. What i didnt like is when the security is checking in the people they will throw away the food the bring with them.truly crash my heart to see that. Is all about making money in there. They should be more open mind. I bet if they let people take little portion they will still make a lots of money still
This is a great track. Do plan on walking around the whole circuit - it's worth it! Good food is available but pricey. The racing makes it all worth while.
Really good organized events here! I am a MotoGP fan and a Ducati rider, so I usually stay on Ducati island and have a seat on turn 15. Despite the fact that Honda always wins on this track I still love this place:-)) A lot of activities here, a lot of different food, a lot of everything. Just a super exciting way to spend 3 days in a row in Austin.
Fun track with a lot to see. Be careful of it's been raining because it gets muddy EVERYWHERE. I've seen concerts here too and the amphitheater is great.
Truly, a great place for Austinites and tourist to visit. Your children will be amazed at the various cars and how fast they are traveling around the track. It was fun
Excellent place for racing. Formula 1 is great and Moto GP awesome!, however, vendors and organization jack up prices in a ridiculous way. Parking was $100 per day! Plain Cheeseburger $15 and domestic beer $11. Not the way we planned to spend our money but we ve enjoyed the event so far. Place gets extremely crowded and it isn t good for kids. So watch out when bringing your little ones. They can get lost in the crowd.
Incredible circuit - just experienced 2015 USA F1. Grand Prix, the third year in a row - they handled the awful weather really really well - the site is incredible and I have followed F1 for 40+ years and watched as many circuits collapse in a heap under lesser conditions . . . yet there is one exception . . . and I know they will be de-briefing on the weekend to bring better systems into place for the next "terrible weather" situ. Which may never ever be as bad but . . . OK, so, once the parking lots got closed (from too much rain), our life got difficult, we were informed we were best to catch the shuttle bus from downtown Austin (convention center) - nice! We needed some help on where we were to stash/park our car in town. It seemed that area of the city got overburdened, so the COTA site could have come alive with parking building options - we were searching blind. From our park we walked to the shuttle, not really a prob, got greeted and treated well as people that had paid for but lost their on-site park . . . NICE! We hopped on a bus, got to the circuit in great time! HOWEVER! Post race . . . no help at all. We watched Sir Elton for about 45 minutes (totally cool!) and trekked our way to the front gate to ask where the shuttle were leaving for the people that lost their parks due to the rain. The nice COTA staff member pointed and said "across the road" - so away we go, across the road, and . . . there were probably 15+ buses lined up for action in the distance - we were feeling good until we got close. There was a line of people . . . and it stretched back from where we had come from . . . almost back to Sir Elton's stage! Hundred's and hundreds and hundreds of people moving like syrup on a cold day towards the buses. The line snaked right back to turn 12 and back again to the main gate that we had left a quarter of an hour ago. We talked to people that were maybe 300 from the head of the line - they had been waiting almost 3 hours for a ride and were really pissed. We gazed down to the buses and they were appearing to be loaded one by one. Are you kidding????? Why not line up 4 buses with 4 COTA staffers and load 200+ people at once! HOPELESSNESS filled our hearts, with the prospect of having to start at the back of the line we could have joined up by Elton, had we known we were no-longer being looked after as people that had lost their parks. The prospect of a 3 hour people snake ahead of us was beyond understanding - especially as we had seen buses being loaded one at a time. 54 seats at a time. This is third world. The feeling that the circuit no longer gives a toss sunk deep. We would not be home before midnight - hell if it wasn't for the rained out parking lot our trip was only 12 minutes without traffic - probably 40 minutes with circuit traffic. We had an option very few people had - so we took it. Call our son - come and pick us up! We had to get outside the circuit for that to happen. We grabbed some rickshaw dudes, paid them handsomely to get us to the main gate - which only took 10 minutes - amazing! We then walked up the road (Elroy) to the gas station to wait for the pick-up. We were home in 50 minutes after making the phone call. COTA: you must look after people AFTER the race that lost their "paid-for" parking as well as before. One feels screwed over at times like that. The bus loading logistics need to change too - what the hell? At least 200 at a time!!!! Other than that nightmare - the track, the event, the staff - all amazing!!!
Went for the American Rally Cross qualifying event and had a great time. Prices were high for concession food and drinks but not ridiculous. Some lines were long because they only had one worker. The cars can be really loud so consider ear protection. The venue does not have a lot of shade for breaks and the sun can be brutal so come prepared with something like a sunhat, sun glasses, towel or umbrella. It's also a pretty big place so if you'll be walking around bring comfortable shoes.
Ok we went here for the Nelly, tlc, flo ride concert. I must say the actual place was really nice. The amenities they had for the concert was really legitimate! Now don't pass judgment on me. This is my first time at a race track, and mane I'm not a nascar person, but now if they had like superbike then I'd be all over it. But I'd go back in a heart beat simple cos of the amenities!!
I like it But traffic is a very bad headache when events come to town I can't get out of my neighborhood and that's where the problem lies good for Austin but not so much for the Del Valley neighborhood Country life no traffic peace and quiet
Never expected that this place will be this good! Visited COTA for Moto GP, I have purchased seats beforehand, but I eventually ended up just watching the race on my feet, walking around the track - visibility was great from almost any location. I will definitely buy the access $50 tickets next year. It was one of the best weekends in my life, definitely recommend to do it at least once in your life!
Massive location, Great personalized experience with motorsports, and subpar transit layout.
We attended for Moto GP and F1. Getting into COTA just to park is very time consuming and unless you're getting there 3+ hours early, you will be parking in a field somewhere. But, once you're there, the experience is pretty cool. You get the most out of the free gear, gear for sale, and the cars on display. The concerts I hear are pretty good but if you're not paying top dollar, expect to walk A LOT.
Room for improvement: Better parking layout, better crowd circulation planning, and complimentary transports for ALL attendees.
Not a good place to do a show from a crew point of view. Doesn't seem like a good place to watch a shiw either. Eh, I'd pass and get a ticket to a show somewhere else
Came here for a concert it was awesome. Emailed them about a concerned i have never replied to me about it so am overall giving them 3 for the lack of response to my e-mail.
Love this track. I m local to Elkhart Lakes Road America but enjoy this facility. Plan on tons of walking and check out the view from all over the place!
A great time. Hopefully they will keep up the shuttle services. Makes a huge difference in the enjoyment factor for all attendees. Great to see 44 take his 6th!
Getting in the venue through the ticket line was a terrible mess and unorganized. Giant lines with people cutting in with no control. Beautiful track and facility.
I been to serval formula 1 events this track a very fast track and fun one to go to. It will be nice to see the NASCAR cup series racing here in 2021 it will be a very fun event.can't waite to get my tickets for the event.lots to see and do
Went to Winter Wonderland at Circuit of the Americas. It was really not good for the price. No real snow as promised. spent 80 bucks just to get in. Lights were not great. Everything else was extra money. ALOT extra. like 15 dollars per person for one activity! The ice skating rink was actually plastic and not ice. It just wasn't worth how much we paid.
