Fantastic day out. Can buy food for the animals which my kids live to do. Good exercise due to the size of the walking area. Nice cafe and farm shop near the entrance. This year we got our pumpkin here for the kids, they offer the tools and tables for you to carve them (feeding the pigs with the leftover pumpkin).

I stayed here camping with my nephew. The staff are very friendly and there are loads of stuff to do walks around the farm or just go and do your own thing. The prices and food at the cafe are fine and the camp prices are not bad I would definitely recommend it

Absolutely wonderful place. Only cost 3 pounds per person and then you can buy food bags for the animals or go collect eggs etc as extra.

I love all the space the animals has and there are plenty of places to just go for a nice long walk.

Only downside is that the routes can be slightly confusing but we figured it out.

Grat place to stay in fully nature!
The staff all soooo friendly and nice!
Of course you are in a farm and not 5stars hotel so if you know where are you going you can't have a complaint for this place.

Lovely pub. Discovered with a walking party and have been going back ever since. Eat in the bar or restaurant. Also a lovely garden for the summer time.
Prefer the bar lunch menu as opposed to Sunday lunch

Like many other reviews here, this one is mixed. For camping - why, oh why, is there only one toilet for the entire site?! Surely it wouldn't hurt to stick a couple more compostable ones around? And be prepared for a super basic spot of More

We stayed this last weekend while attending a dog ...

We stayed this last weekend while attending a dog festival. 4 adults and 3 dogs camping in 2 tents.
Often I find wherever you go with dogs people frown on it even though they are well behaved, but not here.
We were welcomed warmly no issues checking in, directed to the pitch site and left to our own devices. The staff were very friendly but allowed us space, so it really did feel more like a wild camping experience.
The compost toilet was absolutely fine, didn t smell at all and was clean, well stocked and easy to use.
My only gripe would be that the water pressure on the outdoor taps was very low which made even hand washing difficult but we still managed.

Perfect place for young people, and there grandparents, to wander around and see how animals are kept on a free-range farm. We were there for about 3hours and that's with a 18month old, those with older children would spend a lot longer. The cafe was slightly expensive but the attitude and helpfulness of the staff far outwayed this. The chef went out of his way to cook dairy free for our granddaughter who is dairy intolerant.
One thing I liked was the fact that they have a lot of people with learning difficulties helping out on the farm.

Internship

Internship
It supposed to be an educational internship, but there was no education about farming or environmental things, but physical work 6 days a week, 7.5 hours a day, for 50 pounds per week and accommodation and basic food.
Work was at every weekend, holidays, bank holidays, usually outside in the freezing cold, no working clothes were provided, unefficient tools, equipment, methods, not a well organized system.
They paid 200 pounds monthly, which is not the same as 50 pounds per week, only if the month is 28 days long.
Working conditions were hard, as well as the living conditions, the shower cabin was not heated in winter, no public transport, bus stop is in the next village.
Even it is called an "ecological" farm, they dont collect the waste selectively, food waste from cafe, also the beverage glasses went in the same bag.

I get fed up with people writing reviews of campsite that don't fit with the home from home feel.
The clue of this site is in the name. It is a farm and has a great ethos of being at one with nature.
The camping was great.we stayed in a bell tent and on arrival was told the tent next to us was free if we wanted to use this aswell free of charge.
Yes they were composting toliets but they were fine and the showers were quirky but again did the job.
The staff were lovely and the food was great.very accomadating.
The pub is owned by them aswell and had a 1 mile menu with most produce from their farm.
Went Apple picking and had damsons to die for.
Campsites on farms are not hotels. They are places for children to run free and understand where there food comes from.
We were on a cycling holiday and some great cycle routes and lovely villages to see.
I will be back

Cute little farm and nice walks especially for the better weather.
Although horrendous service is the cafe, over an hour wait for eggs on toast and waited 40minutes for a cold drink and a coffee . Lots of people complaining as same service.
Such a let down as had a direct impact upon parents stress levels and ability to entertain their children whilst waiting for food.

Loved it here and so did the little ones.
There is a lot to do and the staff are so nice! Every single member of staff we spoke to were helpful and kind.
Definitely wear your wellies!!
Although the pumpkin patch was a huge hit, the fairy woods walk through was the favourite of the day.
We cannot wait to go back again!

Excellent place - lovely food in the restaurant, sourced from the farm, and a great shop filled with good produce. Prices a little high, but you are paying for quality. Only complaint is the service, which while friendly can be a bit slow and chaotic at busier times.

This is a combined review of our experiencing camp...

This is a combined review of our experiencing camping (2 nights) and of the pub "Jolly Waggoner" (pub also owned by the campsite).

Acres and acres of pitches which is great. Private pitch means we were not close at all to any fellow campers.
The toilets (portaloos and compost toilets) were dirty, smelly and not cleaned as regularly as they should have been. The section of the campsite we were based at had only a single "shower", which effectively was a shack. At best, we got 10 seconds of warm water and then cold water (showers were had at various times of the day and same experience).

It is very expensive (if you get a private pitch) for what you get.

The pub is a maximum 2/5 establishment. Not a jolly meal at all.
Food on the menu is not necessarily what arrives on your table. Credit where it's due, food which we were not happy to pay for was not charged to us. Fish and chips was edible, but nothing to write home about. The drinks were very expensive, so we should have asked for the drinks menu beforehand.

All in all, expensive and wouldn't recommend. Staff aren't particularly helpful. Abrupt when asked a simple question. Won't be returning.

Last weekend I spent Saturday night camped out in the woods with a bunch of other folks and it was a great weekend. The staff at the shop were friendly and they have heaps of excellent locally produced foods. The booking, check-in and check-out process for camping was completely painless and the facilities were spot on.

I'll most certainly be going back to do some more "wild camping" in their woodlands again in the future.

Service was poor when I visited. Twenty minute wait for three coffees. It wasn't busy.

Toilet was blocked but when I reported this to a member of staff she carried on with what she was doing instead of informing anyone else.

Visited recently and had a great time with the family. I was impressed with how cheap it was to get in and feed the animals. Plenty of things to see and do for a nice morning/afternoon.
Have a good range of animals, some of which you can feed. There is a small play area for young children outside the cafe which kept the little one entertained during the long wait for food (it was busy). We didn't mind too much as we were sat in the glorious sunshine. The food was worth the wait also.
If you have a little one that likes farm animals and planes (the farm is under a flight path) then this is a great spot.

Only second time camping, but the one time before at least had shown me how pleasant it can be....was seriously let down by Church Farm with no staff, constant queuing for anything and the facilities being so below standard would have failed any kind of inspection....such a shame.

I loved church farm, always a great afternoon out or weekend camping. But now it's so expensive and I feel out of reach for the average person. Whilst I recognise times are tough the prices for camping are now way too much. Would love to see a change in approach and I will be coming back time after time
