Great place to relax while earning some cash. But don't get addicted.

I like the restaurant (Grand Cafe) inside so I ve been there a few times. This evening I took a friend with me who paid her first visit. Food was really nice, and the restaurant staff were really friendly & helpful, but when we were leaving the outside parking lot, we were literally scolded by a male staff because we did not successfully pay. It was our first time using the outside parking system and we were really sorry for not getting it right for the first time, however it is really sad to hear a staff scolding us angrily saying why do you put the card in again? Why? I ve told you I ll let you go and you tell me why do you put the card in again? You are noting helping! We did cause you extra trouble, but we corrected it immediately, and honestly, that s your job to help us instead of shouting at us! We felt insulted by this rude man and our night was ruined.

Had a great time at the FREE Housie this afternoon. Did not win but still great afternoon out.

Christchurch City Casino where you can go out and have fun and hang out. They give you gifts of welcome and every day they carry out raffles for various prizes. You can dine at a good price in a very good atmosphere.

This is a great place and an excellent Casino. There is a superb restaurant serving up great meals. The bar has friendly, approachable and most helpful staff. There is a superb range of machines and tables to suit everyones' interests.
Floor staff are available all the time if you have a question. There is unbeatable action seven days a week with live music. This is a premier entertainment destination well worth visiting.
Car parking is very good as there is a large car park on Peterborough street across the road from the Casino. A very short walk to the main entrance.

Bit quite when we were there but it was early afternoon. Good service Nd very friendly staff.

Great atmosphere for the quiz night, usually good food. The Chi restaurant is fab.

From a poker players perspective: small room with three 1/2 tables going on Saturday evening around 9pm. Played for a few hours and came out with 4.5 buy ins. Level of play was ridiculously low, tables full of fish floating multiple streets and bluffing ace high hands with lines that don't make any sense. Regs were mostly bad as well, and almost no phone nits to be found! If you know what you are doing it's a gold mine if it's like this every night.

The bouncers and some staff ruin this place. Especially the over reacting bouncers. Over all the whole place has a bad attitude. Theres other fun activities in CHCH.

Meal ok,slot machines malfunctioned but Casino put $20 onto our reward cards for the inconvenience which I thought was really good of them. Atmosphere great. Will go back again.

A very calm casino. it is quiet. The lunch and morning at this restaurant are good and delicious. By all means.

I was shocked, at how much the casino had dropped in the standards and the class of people attending. It was quite dramatic. I had taken an overseas visitor, I was so embarrassed.

Had a smorgasbord meal here on a Friday night. The service is perfect.

This is my honest review:
We've been traveling in South Island for almost 2 weeks, and Christchurch was our last destination. We are from Bali and obviously the weather in South Island is a lot lot colder than Bali.

We went to this casino 3 days in a row, the first and second day was great.
The dealer was really friendly, and the service is also great, however the 3rd and our last day in Christchurch has been our biggest disappointment because of the double standard allowance by the security named Amorane (Old Lady with glasses).
We went in to the casino and 2 securities checked our passport, everything seems fine but Amorane didn't allow us to came in as she said that we are wearing a track pants, and I said to her, yesterday and 2 days before it was fine, obviously we are on our vacation and it's very cold in there that's why we are wearing the long-john and jogger pants on the outside. She sent us back, and we have a little disappointment.
We changed our jogger pants with our jeans which is we had packed up because we are gonna leaving tomorrow morning. The time we went back to the Casino I saw a guy that also wearing a jogger pants inside! This makes us more disappointed than before, but ok we are still playing as we have no more destination to go cause we are planning to spend the night there and catch our flight in the very early morning.
As time goes, we were playing until 2.45ish AM. After we finished our game we went to the toilet and met her again. We went in to the toilet which is still open, but we were very shocked as she showed a disappointment because we went in to the toilet as she sounded like "arghhh".
By the time she sounded like that, we were thinking, what is wrong with us? Why us? Is this because we are not a local civilians? Why she can't be nice to us? I would give this Casino 5 stars rating if this hasn't happened to us.

Cheap food free coffee, tea and entertainment during the weekend.

Pokies are dismal - it's an expensive night out - games are few and far between, payouts are very rare. It doesn't encourage people to go back. Especially people in their prime years of adventure and excitement. Very few happy people about - most clientele spoken to complained and it's hard to defend the casino when it's so blatant.

My experience was i won 5,700.00 took ticket up to counter this Indian lady , well she looked like that ok..Anyway she asked me if I was money laundry ,I go what! Then she said where you get your money , I said out off atm machine then she said I might not give you your win if you are money laundry I wS so confused at what she was saying, then she said you can have it if you join the casino here , I said I am joined at auckland. For God sake... I had to join there pay 20.00 for the card then she gave me my money short of 20.00 and my daughter was with me when it happened. Any opinions on my experience there?

It's a casino. It just likes to rub your face in it while having a drink their with friends. But who checks out a review of a casino before going there? The only people reading this will be the casino pr people. Hi. Hope you are having a great day. Haven't been there for years. Very disappointed. Went on my birthday. Just filled with machines no nice bar meals . The lovely friendly classy atmosphere gone. Now just a trashy gambling house

I ordered pineapple pizza, ribs and onion rings and it was so delicious.
We also have a wide selection of beer, wine, and liquor cocktails.
All menus are good. There are a lot of alcoholic drinks.

My work had our xmas lunch in the grand cafe on 30 Nov 2018. The buffet was topped up before the rest of the team arrived, so food was super fresh. The friendly staff looked after us really well. I haven't been here in a long time after a disastrous dinner which my hospo friends all agreed was terrible but after this lunch, I might start going again.
