Fantastic Chilling out and also place if somebody want to test their luck.

Went in with a hundred enjoyable 2 hours left with a hundred.

Rating is specifically for the restaurant. The food was way too expensive relative to the lack of food on their dishes that were available. It was a prolonged affair, waiting for the food. Took about an hour. Have no intentions of ever going back.

Have taken away enjoyment of some of the old machines and replaced with more complex ones

Very up to date professional place to take time out and have a drink. Accompanied by a 5 star meal if u like with very professional staff. All dressed to impress and well trained.

I always enjoy the casino great atmosphere love the sounds and lights,and the staff are wonderful.great place to have some fun.

It's got all the normal games and if you're lucky you might walk out with some money for in your pocket.

Got physically thrown out with no reason. That s assault. Meathead security. I complained and the guy who threw me out put himself in charge to investigate my case. Never heard back of course.

The new hours mean the casino has lost it's edge of being the best venue to visit when everything else is closed. On weeknights, midnight closing has resulted in patrons being ejected at 11.45pm, and Friday and Saturday nights, 2am closing so patron cutoff begins at 1.45am precisely.
Any patron who fails to pack up and vacate the instant the "15 minutes til close" announcement is made, receives rude, unfriendly and sometimes very insulting communication nonstop from some of the staff (gaming and security) as they drive patrons out the door. For me, this has resulted in many nights being ruined, which is a huge letdown. I go there as a haven, especially if I have had a bad day. I succeed in breaking out of my funk, get happy, enjoy myself, then am immediately stripped of my joy the second I get approached by certain staff, unfortunately they are senior staff and have trained their people to be just as lacking in care for the happiness of the people they are employed to interact with.
I suffer severe hearing impairment and require hearing aids, this results in me missing the announcement regularly. However despite my repeated attempts to communicate with these staff that I mean no harm, and am happy to go, but please dont be nasty to me and ruin my night, they genuinely don't care and have no interest in being the "best" at their job by developing people skills let alone honouring the casinos motto of giving people a great experience. I would visit at a different time of day, but they are not open when I'm able to go, and if I can get out at night, it's rarely before midnight, so avoiding this clash is very difficult.
Having made multiple attempts to create a rapport with the most belligerent and unfriendly of these staff and those attempts met with more rudeness, unkindness and lack of empathy or any human interaction skills, I have reached the sad conclusion that I must accept that while the Christchurch Casino is still the fun, clean, bright place with great music and a safe environment it always has been, it is no longer THE place to head to before heading home. It's a place to pop in briefly, if that, as I have no interest in spending my hard earns bucks where I'm not treated like a human and my "mistakes" are guaranteed to ruin my night. Why wreck my night when I can go elsewhere and not suffer the rollercoaster, who wants to end their night feeling abused? Not me, that's for sure. Sorry Christchurch Casino, but it looks like you're heading for invisibility very soon.

Sure its not Las Vegas. But it has all the small slots and other games you need for a fun night out. Just know when to stop.

A very well-run Casino. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Several options for dining in different areas...upstairs and on ground floor catering from pizza to fine dining. Large carpark opposite casino.

It has no atmosphere and the servers at the bar were more interested in watching the sports game on the TV than serving us.

In this special covid period, the running table is just enough, poker table available as well. Much better than Queenstown or dunedin Casino.

If you are having a social night out then the atmosphere here is great but if you enjoy time on the pokies....forget it! It is weighted too far towards the casino and extremely small chance of return for anyone who enjoys time out.

Watched a boxing fight there last week had great time with a few beers and cheeky punt on a machine but was disappointed with the chicken wings was very bland and not nice, will definitely be back to try the pizzas and more food options

Went for the buffet lunch. It was ok. There wasn't really enough choice. Staff were lovely though and the desert bar was yummy.

Nice bar and not bad atmosphere. Not welcome to big drinkers, ie if your a bit wobbly they will probably ask you to leave. Still good place for nice drink.

Firsttime casino experience and had good fun. Staff were really helpful in helping explain the games and being kind. Would recommend but don't expect to make any money! Cheap but decent food in the sports bar - $20 burgers!

I never know this kind of thing would happen with me. I was getting the cash from cashier counter and cashier told me i dont wanna see you attitude and take your cash and go. I have never thought these kind of misbehaving with me. Its been 10 months i am playing but that was very bad. Its very hard to go christchurch casino.
