Casino is a fun place. Small by international standards but has everything you'd expect, table games and machines. Live band is absolutely awful, 1/5 but the casino itself is fine

Bouncers are bizarrely aggressive and insulting. We walked in the door, sober, and showed our IDs as requested.

Managers were called, and we were asked to leave.

First time experience and wow, the premises is stunning. So much to do there from restaurant to playing. A great place to catch up with friends and families for eating and having some fun!

Great place to mingle, have a drink, a bite to eat and have a gamble if you are so inclined.

Been there to mainly watch a cricket match and eat food. Nice ambience and decent price for food. I'd personally do not endorse gambling though.

Fabulous place to come for a good night out and the breakfast the next day are awesome..cant wait to come again :)

Is getting too expensive, harder to get feature on machines. I think they have the tight switch on. Not enough cheaper machines

This is a nice tidy Casino, had a more comfortable and classy feel than many of the bigger casinos I have been to. The staff were professional and pleasant. Quite a positive experience, despite having no luck on the tables. Definitely would go there again (hopefully with a bit more luck in my pocket).

Drinks are expensive, only half the staff smile, heaps of people in theirs 29s with 1 too many under their belt. Need to decide if your a casino or a night club.

This is really on a slot machine parlour. I went on Friday the 9th and after a few hours at the tables I went to cash my chips in (around $1170) at around 6:20pm. The Filipino cashier I dealt with was very frosty and set about accusing me of holding back on cashing in all my chips, claiming I had more in my pockets. The gall of it. A little background. The supervisory staff get very agitated if you don't cash up your chips to the largest denomination prior to leaving a gaming table under the pretext that they will run short of lower denomination chips but of course everyone knows that is untrue . What they want is to record your loss or on the rare occasion a profit. And it all goes into the computer.
Anyway the Filipino cashier was obviously under instruction to inform her supervisor when I came to the counter as she immediately called out to what I assumed was her supervisor ( a kiwi woman with a set of vocal chords it will be hard to forget ). This woman wanted me to present I.D. Now everyone knows (although not displayed I don't think) that I.D is required if you purchase chips on any one day in excess of $6000 and cash in chips in excess of $4000. As I was well under both these limits I challenged their ruling.
As it panned out and after much humiliation in front of other patrons I eventually received my $1100 odd payment but with a very nasty demand that I would not be welcome without I.D next visit .
I have often witnessed the staff bale up visitors and tourists using a similar ploy. Demanding I.D to the extent they want a credit card and some verification with name and address. Now why would anyone in their right mind and with any awareness of how this gathering of information could be misused. I have a farm 40ks out of town and how convenient would it be for someone to know when I'm at the casino. They only employ people of high integrity you might say however you don't have to have a criminal record to be involved in criminal activity.
Only in the last year top management at Auckland and Hamilton casinos have been incarcerated for stealing $100's of thousand if not more. And they were both very unlucky to get caught as it was institutions outside of the casino that notified the authorities first.
So avoid this casino if you wish to play the tables is my recommendation and wait until you get to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Macau - so much better.

Went to Monza bar didn'tknow that it was quiz night so decided to eat out of the bar area, our food took ages to come. I had the lamb burger it was tasty but the bun was cold, but inside was warm enough to eat straight away. The fries were shoestring a bit over cooked.
For $22.50 I dont think it's good value, its over priced for the meal, I had better at other restaurants.
My husband had a different burger same for him tasty but over priced.

I went her with my mother and thought we would try the buffet , extremely dissapointed . Food was cold, roast.meat was extremely tuff. Hardly any variety. Definitely not worth the $$$

The Asian reception lady is a rude and mean racist . I do not know why the management hire her instead of attractive open minded young lady as receptionist. Because of her, I will never come back to this place. This is my worst leisure experience.

I did not win money and neither did the elderly Japanese man sitting near me. We both unanimously agreed the casino needed a refund policy. 2 stars cause I didn't see anyone who looked like Joe Pesci

City center casino is so crowded. The free plays, prize draws and the live entertainments are all associated with the celebration of 25th anniversary.

Did not enjoy @ all sorry. Nothing special have seen bigger RSLs. I felt it was depressing, people on pokies, older type n no 1 was laughing. Just miserable, depressing & uneventful. Should b a place not just gamble but a night out W/ friends 2 enjoy & unwind. Can't picture any Wales here, maybe beached 1z. Really 1 & half stars. Have been 2 8 casino's n dis1 , I think u nooo.

I found the front security and pit boss of the casino to be some of the rudest staff I have ever interacted with. When I walked into the Casino 100% sober, I was accused to being drunk by front security. I informed them I had had 0 drink that night. They said I must be on something else and accused me of being uncoordinated. I informed them I was on no substances and went in.

Later that night I got my first beer of the night at the casino. As I was waiting for the drink the pit boss forced me to go to the side. He made one of the most offensive comments I have ever received from a manager saying I had squinty eyes and that meant I had drank to much that night. I informed him I had had 0 drinks and did not appreciate INSULTS about by eyes and the way they were shaped at my brith. And walked back to have my drinks.

The fact this casino considers it appropriate for management staff to offensively belittle customers about being born with facial features that are different from most people is very hurtful and offensive. I don t plan on ever returning.

Great place for overnight camps. Check the river Quailty before useing the water. Toilets and rubish Bins maintained.

We just popped in for a quick meal and a drink and it was well worth it. We both had the Salt&Pepper Squid. Only $15 and as She wasn't that hungry I just had to have a stab at hers too. Very nice, well cooked and very tasty. Her coffee looked a bit strong and I've now had my 1st NZ larger. It was ok and I'll try another soon. Well worth another visit.

Check out the Monza Sports Bar located upstairs at the casino, great for watching sport on the large screens with a pizza. Due to the regular craft beer tasting nights hosted here they stock an array of local beer; check out Monza Facebook page for the next tasting event, each evening is hosted by a New Zealand craft beer company where you get to taste for our their beers paired with food cooked by Monza's chef, always well attended by those in the industry.

There is a Las Vegas-like casino with Western food.
If you eat Western food, it will prepare a $5 voucher for you to go to the casino to play. Because we won t play, we ll go shopping in the last round and play blackjack, because the dealers will speak Chinese.

Nothing big.....honestly. but worth checking out or grab a bite

Had a fabulous time at the Christchurch Casino...we went there to win some money... and we did yay!!! Won, lost, won...nerve racking at times... but thankfully we won!!! Time flies when you're having fun, and fun we did have. Will definitely be back next time we visit Christchurch, cheers
