Horrible. Been here over 4 hours and still my daughter has not been seen!

Excellent care. I feel blessed to have such a great hospital near us. Our two sons have Muscular Dystrophy and Children's of Pittsburgh have always done a great job getting them well. I have six children and would never point any parent here if I thought they wouldn't take care of your child as if it was their own. 10 Stars **********

I've never in my life experienced such amazing care in a hospital. And it's not even care for me, but My new born son Massimo. Wonderful, and amazing.

This hospital is amazing. The Drs here will take time to answer your questions and listen to your concerns.

Granddaughter received treatment for congenital heart problem. She received outstanding care from the staff. There were some bumps along the way with some staff. But overall great care. The surgeon that provide the the services is the best Dr Morelli

Really good kids hospital. Just walking through is really neat with all the interactive toys.

I Would like to say That my son Recieved great help and Thank you so much for what you all have done. The time was behind but he had great care and is wonderful now. Thank you so much for what you all do.

All the staff we come in contact with is great!! Our regular nurses are always awesome & does an amazing job with each & every bi-weekly visit.

I love this place my son has been here for surgeries and testing.. It's a place that has really made improvements in his life i can never thank the doctors nurses and staff enough for taking good care of my son

Doctors and nurses are so caring and loving here. My newborn was in hospital for 4 days and they treated me and her like a queen and did everything they could to help my daughter. Greatest children's hospital!

This hospital is amazing. My daughter broke her arm on a Thursday afternoon and we were there for an appt with ortho the next day at 2 or 3. They had her in emergency surgery to fix it that evening. The ER surgical resident explained everything to my husband and I and answered all of our questions in depth. The ER staff was great as were the nurses on the fourth floor (we stayed overnight). The orthopedics dept knows what they re doing and got her all straightened out. We ll return if we need to

I love children's hospital I live 2 1/2-3hours away my daughter had a seizure children's hospital sent their team to my hometown hospital to get me n my daughter to bring us to their hospital on 2/6/2014 that's the most amazing thing yet ty children's hospital of Pittsburgh

This is such an amazing facility. All of the staff genuinely care about patients and their families. The location is the only downside as the roads are very narrow and confusing.

Probably the slowest childrens ER ever. Sat there for 3 hours and the place was completely dead. Went to a different ER got in about 20 mins. You think that it's kids they would be a Lil faster but there the complete opposite. Weigh your options before going here

Our 13 months old son had a four day hospital stay at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh UPMC. During this time he was seen by Dr. Goldstein and his team and also Dr. Pollack and his team. The care provided by these two skilled teams was outstanding!! The doctors made sure to keep us updated during our son's surgical procedure and then also in the days following they would check in on him and sit and speak with us with any concerns we had. They really did take the time to communicate with us and we certainly did not feel they rushed us off. Also, the entire staff, from receptionists to nurses etc., we could not have been treated with more respect and courtesy. The food available in the hospital was good as well. The facility was clean and sanitary. The staff made sure we where comfortable and answered all our questions and concerns in a kind and friendly manner. I would certainly highly recommend CHoP UPMC! If it where possible I would rate them a 5+ !! Personally, I am proud of the fact that Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh is in the 10 ten in the nation. And they do not get that way by being unscrupulous. You know you got the best at Children's Hosp. of Pittsburgh

No one chooses to be sick, but if you have to have a sick kid. Go to children's. Don't even waste the time going to medexpress.

The social worker we talk to is prejudice towards me as a mother because I am in suboxone treatment. I am a great mother but she calls cys on me when I can't RSVP to appts. I live 2 hours away, & frequently run low on minutes. Its not fair.

My daughter was brought into childrens hospital after surviving a Pulmonary Embolism. Only to die at the hands of somebody on the staff. Who punctured my daughters lung with a breathing tube and killed her. They hid that little fact for over 6 months until I got the autopsy report. And then tried to blame us for neglect, laughable. I will find out who killed my daughter with the breathing tube! Accident or no accident, I will have closure.

I give the hospital 1 for my 34 month old grandaughter being seen by a physician/resident within 20 minutes of arrival... she had a fall at home, my daughter (her mother didnt witness the fall, she was in another room of the house) with loss of consciousness and a seizure-like episode during the loss of consciousness when my daughter found her after hearing and feeling thud on b the floor....
I give the doctor 1 for at least ordering a catscan of her head/brain.... which was within normal limits....
however, I deduct:
- 2 for not doing an EEG,
-3 for not keeping her in the hospital for obsevation, as, when a child has a loss of consciousness due to a blow to the head and is followed by seizure like activity...this injury is classified as moderate to severe, as there is a potential for adelayed brain bleed/hematoma.
-3 are deducted, as now the doctor and hospital are sending this moderate to severe head trauma patient, home with her parents, who live NEAR SEWICKLEY PA.,
-2 they live at least 30 minutes away from the hospital...brain bleeds are deadly and now if a problem arises at home, they are looking at losing their daughter, because she wasn't held for observation as a more astute physician would have chosen to do
-2 ... it is a well known anomaly that toddlers have delayed brain bleeds/bruising, that can become event within 12 to 48 hours post injury...
-2 I believe that because it is Friday night/the weekend, the neurology deparment didn't want anymore admissions to care for during the weekend.
-infinty shame on you if something happens adversely to my grandaughter, because you sent her home with her parents, they are not equipped to handle a neurological emergency at home and they live 30 minutes away from your hospital...I really don't believe that the cat scan was even read by a radiologist... it was the neuro resident who looked at it and thinks he knows it all...
After deducting all the star's in review of my grandaughter''s care at your supposed CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, your total is minus infinty, because you have risked the wellbeing of my grandaughter....her wellbeing is priceless and could never be replaced... your concern for her well being was cavalier and lacked the talent I expect from a facility of you caliber...I'm just glad they will be leaving b your area soon...
I hope to hear from sombody at your hospital as I'm continually praying for the safety and we'll being of my grandaughter...
She has not reached 24hrs past the head trauma/sezure

This place is disturbingly disgusting, the doctors and nurses have kept details of my sons treatment from me and his mother and he s is a cardiac patient, haven t updated us on his goals or what theyre planning to do. They ve called Cys on us because we live 3hrs away and have 2 other children one in which is about to start school .The communication between staff is terrible , the nurses act like they are my child s parents ,they keep my child in a freezing room with a thin blanket and he is 2 months old . they don t let us even speak to members of his cardiac team unless we meet with the whole team someone just says they re with the cardiac team no explanation what they do or what they do for my child , and this past trip which I am still here and will be here for numerous days have allowed and assisted in police to follow us around the facility and the city for no reason whatsoever . If you are black don t bring your children here . This is a teaching hospital they have volunteers and interns caring for your children when your not here , the nurses are barley with them except for when they have a test to run . The food is disgusting here and they let people smoke anywhere on the facility even though they have multiple signs telling you YOU CANNOT SMOKE ON HOSPITAL PROPERTY . I would give this place a neg 5 Stars , I wish I could take my child and never return this place is a lab not a hospital.

We absolutely love childrens and the staff. We have been coming here for nine years. My daughter sees multiple drs and has had many overnites. I couldn't ask for a more caring team. Thank you to all the staff for all your support and kindness.

the staff was extremely helpful and nice. Answered all of my questions. Very educated. I felt that my daughter was in good hands.

My daughter wanted to sleep in my arms the whole time and it was hard to put her down and sleep. I mentioned to one of the nurses that she liked her swing at home. She went above and beyond and found me a swing to put her in so I could sleep. She didn t have to do that. I am extremely grateful for her. I believe her name is Nicole.

Ever place has is downside, mostly lack of communication here

The nurses on 6th floor trauma unit was the greatest ever. They were so personal! They went above what they needed to do to make my son and I feel comfortable. They were nurses that did their job cause they loved what they were doing. Also the ortho surgical staff treated my son like it was their own. I have never been to a hospital that made you feel like family and they was doing their best for there patients like this one.

My son had alot of stomach issues and had 3 surgeries so far...everyone there was incredible!

Love the place 100% good to my daughter best hospital she had her tonsil out and she was really scared but they made her feel so much better she loved it there wanted to stay longer they spoiled her to death she just loved it best hospital ever for kids and the security is awesome i felt safe for me and my child love the place

It's amazing!!! While everyone is complaining they are saving children's lives. So next time you complain about the er wait time realize what they are doing

Amazing place for a child with health issues to be. Have been to other Children's Hospitals and none compare to this one. As a parent you are valued as part of the team. Their specialists are incredible. My son is alive due to the expertise and collaboration of all who work here.

This is such an amazing hospital that really cares for children. Their nurses were so comforting and friendly during my daughters congenital operation. Well staffed, run, and cleaned. They always to cater to the every needs of a patient, and ways make sure they are understanding the treatment and procedures, by always asking " Do you have any questions". One of the best hospital experiences I have ever come across my life! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

I'm giving this hospital one star as the waiting room don't have any books or magazines!! There was only one large block with minimal moveable toys. Very disappointed in them not providing reading material or toys of any kind.

The the staff is really compassionate and they are dedicated in taking care of your child but my son was hear since yesterday around 8:00pm and still waiting 24 hours later for him to have a surgery to have a pin and screws put in his elbow so it's the surgical department that I'm upset with I understand that it's a big hospital but they are supposed to be the best but if your emergency is a broken bone I would go somewhere else. They want me to starve my child for as long as it takes till they can get him in and they told me and my husband to wait till midnight to see if they can get him in then if not they will let us go home then have us come back In a week with an appt that still may take all day with an appt. Crazy right! But all of the nurses are great and even the other staff are great just not the surgery department I guess or that's who the doctors and nurses say they are waiting for them to have room for his surgery.
So the stars are for the staff other then that I say a 1 but that's for the nurses too they have really great nurses and at least they have I pads, x box, and Wii systems hear to keep the kids minds off of there pain that's great too. Overall it's a good hospital just the starving my kid and waiting forever for a surgery that makes me so upset. I will say that there are children in worse sercomstances then mine like all the child chemo patients that are hear they do take very good care of them and are the number 1 hospital for kids with problems like that so to think of those parents and what they have to go through I do give them credit for being a good hospital for thoes cases but if you are going to children's hospital with your child with a broken bone you may want to think about it first how long you may wait that's if they got to have pins or screws put in i guess my sons case is a little different then most.

One of the best hospitals around specially for children recently had to stay there the overnight with my four-month-old son who we thought had pneumonia was treated overnight and released the next day I can say for some of the hospitals around here this place has one of the best cafeterias and their food is excellent

Children's hospital take care of sick kids of all ages

Very oxymoronic to say I enjoy visiting a hospital, but because lyfe kan be unpredictable, the event was a bit more pleasant than it could have been.

Total kid friendly. Very friendly and competent staff. So fortunate to have such a hospital so close.

Once you get in the door the care is decent. Trying to have the administrative assistant (or anyone) in child neurology to return a call is near impossible. They state that someone will return your call within 2 business days. Still waiting.

The staff here is incredible and the lengths they go to so that children feel comfortable in a hospital environment is ridiculous. The cafe is great and the level of health care is amazing.

Amazing staff.... everyone from the Drs & nurses to the receptionists to the maintenance & janitorial team truly care and do everything they can to help make the kids' experience here as pleasant & happy as possible. There's tons of toys & games to keep the kids entertained. This place and the people here are truly a godsend

While we have had good experiences in the past, the bad ones keep adding up more lately. First, I take my son to the main children's hospital to have blood work done. The lab script clearly specifies to not use a tourniquet while drawing blood....the lab assistant put a tourniquet on my son anyway until I told her what the script said. She read the script and forgot? Wasn't paying attention, didn't care.. I don't know. . Wish we could go somewere else.

HORRIBLE place it should not take 2 hours just to be seen by a doctor or nurse. Nurses are rude and the doctors just rush to get out. This is the worst place to come to ever. West Penn is so much better then this place.

Best hospital for Colorectal Problems at Colorectal and Hirschsprung Center

I gave 3 stars because of the good doctors, but we are currently here overnight for our 1 1/2 year old. First of all out of the many nurses and doctors we saw today, only 3 were kind and lovely people. They are not as kind as you would think with children my daughter s age, at least and even worse to the parents.
My second biggest issue is that you have a facility where parents have to stay overnight with ther children (obviously) and the rooms have nothing on the side of accomodating sleep-deprived, worried parents.
I suppose I was expecting a bit better all around due to how reputable they are, but I was sorely disappointed.

It is perfect service 24 /7. All specialties that can exist. One of 10 best hospital in US, it is referral hospital for metabolic disease.

We spent 2 1/2 weeks at CHP for heart surgery for a 12 month old. The staff and medical teams are amazing. They didn't only treat our child, but also supported us as parents while we grappled with the extremely stressful situation of having a child suddenly require major surgery. The surgeons are skilled and confident. The cardiologists are knowledgeable and explained things so that we understood what was going on. If you have a child that needs major surgery and you are anywhere near Pittsburgh, then CHP should be your first choice. The only complaint we had was with the Nutrition department who basically refused to even try to be of assistance despite being asked twice by one of the cardiologists.

I have read countless CPS horror stories where something so diminutive prompts an investigation or worse. I have always believed There is two sides to every story and that surely there is information that is being left out. At least that is what I used to believe... until it happened to me. I literally rescheduled an appointment. RESCHEDULED not canceled! Turns out false reporting of neglect is illegal in the state of PA.

If you want a way to become involved in the CYF and the court, this is the place to to go. False charges of abuse run rampant and cause years to amend ( if ever)

My daughter recieved a bilateral ureteral reimplantation performed by doctor Schneck. All staff was extremely helpful and genuine about my daughters care. Her incision was done extremely well so she should have minimal scarring. I am very happy with my experience and highly recommended.

Amazing! They treated our daughter great! They made her experience not scary. They had her smiling when she was in pain. We live 2 and a half hours away amd they did all they could to help us ans make us feel more at home.

Easy check parking and check in. As always friendly staff welcoming with a smile.

Er room is overused by patients that could have went elsewhere

The experience with them keeps going from bad to worse. First, this hospital isn't close to my home, yet every time something is wrong with my son they tell me I have to go here because other UPMC hospitals don't have qualified doctors.

The most recent is for a broken arm. That night was OK enough, minus the extra time and duplicate work (and charges, of course) they conducted and the hours of delays.

After we left I had to call Children's Orthopedic to schedule an appointment. Got stuck with a woman Pamela, who is perhaps the worst most unfriendly person in any customer service capacity.

Went to the followup appointment to get his cast off and the woman who was removing it had been giving bad information on what his appointment was for. That woman and the physican assistant are nice enough and seem to have a handle on their jobs.

I was sent to checkout and instructed to make a followup appointment. The woman I was pointed at stared at me blankly. No response ever. Finally, the woman who had pointed me to her told me just to go ahead and schedule it online. I'd suppose the woman at the desk was Pamela, or else Children's has a plague of poor staff.

As I was told, I sent a message online. It got ignored. A week later I sent another. It took Pamela 3 days to write back, and her response was, "ivm". What is that?!

I reached out to the online scheduler and he informed me the only way to get a followup appointment was to contact Children's Orthopedic. Guess I have to wait for Pamela to quit before my son gets scheduled for the followup UPMC requires.

The people here are super nice, but sucks that they ask the same questions over and over again. Seriously?!

Where do I begin, yesterday was my 3 yr olds birthday but we had to cancel because my daughter had come down with something. She woke up vomiting and had a temperature of 103. We got to children's a little before 1 pm waiting in the er line for about 20 min only to be told to head up to the second floor and they will see you right away?? ( The whole reason my wife and I drove from our home an hour away, to children's was we felt she was dehydrated and might need fluids) My wife and I head upstairs with our sick little girl to go through another 20 min registration process, and then proceeded to wait 2 hours until we are seen! Diagnosis they wanted to test her urine and found that she probably has a UTI and is causing her symptoms. Then we were told about the medicine they could give us to help her but guess what !!!!! If we wanted the medicine there we would have to go back down to the er because they don't administer the drugs that you need !!! At this point it's now 345 my daughter still hasn't gotten any relief and the thought of putting her through more pain was too much . Eventually we were released to go pick up the medicine at our local rite aid. Good thing I called them when I left because they didn't even have the medication and I had to drive to another location out of our way to get it!. Thanks for nothing children's people come to you from all over to get the very best care . My only regret is choosing you over are local pediatrician.

Extremely long waits to get appt with epilepsy specialist. Even after my granddaughter spent 3 days and nights connected to EEG, with appt scheduled three months in advance, appt was cancelled and could only reschedule with another doctor 2 months after that. The following appointment with her doctor was kept, however, her doctor was 'out of the country,' and my granddaughter got to see the nurse practitioner. For uncontrolled epilepsy. AND we had to wait 1.5 hours to do so.

Now the doctor we chose has outstanding credentials, but what good are they if you can't see the doctor?

I guess if one of our kids needed an organ transplant or needed to be hospitalized for an extended period of time, I would choose Children's Hospital. But really, they are no longer the "Caring Place' they used to be.

We are so lucky to live in Pittsburgh and have such a great Children's Hospital. They took excellent care of me when I was a kid and had multiple surgeries for Legg Perthes Disease. Wouldn't have gotten better care any where else in the world. I have taken both my childern to Children's Hospital for all there care and now my children are taking their children to Children's Hospital for all there care! Like I said we are soo lucky to live in such a great city like Pittsburgh and have such great Hospitals like Children's and many more.

CHP Fails Another Child - My 10 year old daughter was injured in a soccer game 10 days ago. She was bulled over on the field and landed awkwardly on her wrist. Went to CHP North for an Xray. They did an exam, took an X-ray which they then had to have someone at another location read. Was told "Great News - no break. Wrist is just sprained." Sold me a splint and sent us on our way. 10 days later after my daughter continues to complain of pain we take her to a specialist after picking up the Xray. Specialist looks at Xray for 30 seconds and see the break. This hospital does not care about providing quality care. They only care about making money and 'processing procedures' to create bills for the patients they treat like cattle. The entire organization has lost it's way and purpose for being. STOP GOING TO CHP

My son's Pulmonologist is a God send. The desk people in the pulmonologist "cow" room, not even sort of. I don't drive 2 hours to see this doctor for his staffers to be snippy and act like a-holes
