Ceviche nikkei is really good, as well as Pisco Sour. The so promoted shared menus are a scam: they serve 1 portion every 3 people so you barely taste each dish. Plus they serve red cooked meat in between raw fish (ceviche/sushi) dishes. You order a 7 dishes menu and still they kick you out after 2 hours even if they re still serving the last dishes... simply crazy bad.
This restaurant is only good if you go for 1 cocktail, a glass of wine and a small ceviche nikkei as amuse bouche.
The seabass Ceviche was on point- full of flavour. Will definitely go here again
A great new addition to a much needed facelift of Soho.
Really nice food and service. We had the vegetarian dinner menu for two, we wondered but was really filling in the end.
Good food. Little light and "a lot"
music. Difficult to hold a conversation.
A very trendy restaurant nestled in Soho. The food is international, flavorful. Drinks and cocktails are innovative - don t miss out on the spicy chicken wings!
good food, good service, nice cocktails. lively atmosphere. approx 100-150 pp including alcohol
Was there last week for dinner as it was my wife's birthday. We had a few cocktails by the bar , I must say they are trendy and expert mixologist.
The staff were ever so friendly and we were taken to our table. The place was suddenly buzzing, music on decks and plates of food being taken over by the staff. The food was delicious , we tried the tasters menu and the portions were amazing. They even surprised us with the birthday celebration . I am definitely going back.... Simply amazing
Beautiful and delicious food Bento box is a bargain, the chocolate dessert is to die for.
Decent food but ridiculously expensive for what it is. A bit of a tourist trap
Great bar and restaurant - the decor is funky and the drinks are pricey.
Loved it.
Little bit on the pricey side, but food and service are exceptional.
I am not a raw fish person but their dishes are amazing. You got to try it
If you like your Peruvian-Japanese fusion and good cocktails, look no further. Really liked the separate sushi, tempura and grill menus. Trendy ambience. Recommended!
Generally the place is good. Kitchen for 5-ku. Cool design, location. There is a bar on the 1st floor, where you can just sit or drop in before dinner on the 2nd floor. Table must be booked in advance. In the evening between 8 and 10 people are really very much. Good music. I did not like that as soon as we finished with the meal, the waiter unceremoniously brought the bill and said that it was time. For two cost 140 pounds.
Ambience is really good, specially near the washrooms
A great place for some excellent food. All dishes we ordered were excellent - high quality food and very good size portions. Sushi and sashimi were delicious. The fusion efforts worked well, place is decorated well - with really good round tables for large groups. Cocktail menu also fun! 100% would recommend this place for a causal date night or a evening out with a group of friends.
Very good food, drinks and service, could do with less loud and clubby music.
The food was ok but price quality low and service/waiting time really bad considering the high pricing.
Fantastic food and knowledgeable staff, nice atmosphere
Amazing place, upscale but good value for money. Try the tasting menu!! And make sure to go to the toilet as the artwork on the way is a really nice photo spot
great dishes at acceptable prices with charming waiters and waitress
Nothing complain about food but they should be better on services (reception).
The place were quite empty but the receptionist put people into the same section. We literally could listen people s conversations next to us. Obviously I do understand this if the restaurant were busy, but apparently it was very empty. Only the five-six table around window were full while other tables were empty in the other section.
Great dishes with amazing presentation. But very pricey.
We were served by Austen, he was absolutely amazing and really friendly and gave us his opinion on his favourite dishes which we chose and thoroughly enjoyed. He also brought out a plate saying happy anniversary with some extra icecream! Thanks Austen!! In terms of the food, the octopus was my favourite dish, followed by the black cod. Everything was delicious to be honest. Least favourite would be the mushroom, truffle, tortilla chip appetiser thing. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, the graffiti walls were really cool and the music is good too - not too loud. Would definitely come back! Great experience :)
Never tasted food like it in my life! Absolutely amazing. Went for my friends birthday Andi was blown away! Definitely recommend... Can't tell you what the best thing is on the menu, as everything is AMAZING!
The food was really good. The atmosphere was also brilliant.
Came here for the bottomless brunch and oh my, the food was SO good!
Good selection of cocktails and nice brand champagne included too.
The service was a great pace so never waiting on drinks or for your next plate.
Great value for money and would definitely return.
Nice environment. All dishes are similar because they are so spicy that they do not perceive anything else. Inattentive and poorly prepared waiter on the menu. Not recommended
Went on a Saturday night and as you can imagine it was full but after a few minutes we got a table . Really nice place and the food was fantastic. We also tried some cocktails. The background music was right up my street progressive house ;) which definitely added to the great night we had
Not impressed. Food was just ok. Service and ambiance were missing in a failed attempt at looking sophisticated..
Came here pre theatre and had the more expensive of the set menu's. It was fantastic. Super fresh ingredients cooked ( or not.. lots of ceviche and sashimi) perfectly and all of it beautiful as well. The ladies next to us had the special pre theatre bento box offer which looked like a bargain. I would say that the food came out a bit quickly but that was perhaps because we had said we were going to the theatre.
Food was tasty enough, but tiny portions for the price, and quality not much better than some other places in the area.
Cocktails were very good.
Service was really slow - didn't get offered water top ups at all, and only got offered more drinks when we asked for the bill. Food kept being forgotten too, or the wrong items brought out.
All in all, a good concept, but poorly executed and way overpriced.
The sea bass ceviche was delicious and the best I have tasted. The wine we had was also very tasty and accompanied the dishes beautifully. Our waiter was very attentive and made us feel very at home.
I have dined at this place 2 times the last 3 months now, not by my choice.
Both times it has been the same experience.
Lack of knowledge, bad service, medium food and overly priced.
I wasn't going to write a review of the restaurant the first time as this place is just not interesting at all.
But when I see the same "mistakes" being done again, same low service and mediums dishes, I thought it would be at its place to give other customers a warning.
Go here if you want a lively restaurant with medium overpriced food.
Employess that lack proffesionality and have a bad attitude.
One incident when one in our party tried telling them the wine was corked, and the "somellier" said the wine was supposed to be like that.
Fortunate for the one in our party he only ordered the one glass and not a bottle.
For the good part, why I give it 2 stars... The place looks nice and if you don't care about food, service and even paying a little extra, it's good for a night out.
Cheers
Fantastic restaurant to which we have been a couple of times now. Great atmosphere with upbeat music, lovely people, professional staff, and exceptional food! The only drawback is that our group of 7 were squashed onto a table of which I saw had happened to a few groups there, maybe the restaurant is just to popular and they try to accommodate as much as possible.
Prices are OK, similar to sushi samba and roka. Portions are tiny but well made. All in all, will definitely return as it does make a fantastic night out! Thumbs up!
Food was certainly on point. Great vibe, perfect place to hang, eat and drink.
Nice place, good service but too much expensive for what you eat. Small portions, fish taste is covered by sauces.
Had a dinner here yesterday with one of my favorite people and we choose chiefs menu. General manager came over and introduced us to the chief who explained us course by course. It was loud and I did not hear 70% of it.
Courses started arriving one after one - the portion size was not appropriate for the tasting menu and number of dishes served. After the 3rd course we were done but still had 6 more to go. They couldn't time it right - we ended up with not a tasting course but rather Indonesian rice table - all the dishes on the table for us to eat.
There was not much creativity on the texture play.
Great lunch great striction of fine wines and cater a nice selection for vegaterian's. Service was good too. I didn't pay so can't comment on price.
Can't get enough of this place. They bring sushi to the next level. The freshness of fish is impeccable.
Food was ok but the price was ASTRONOMICAL. Even allowing for West End supplemental. I was crammed in like rice in a sushi roll. Average Service. Avoid.
Dined very early evening following a matinee musical in Drury Lane. Great experience for the whole family, food was interesting and well presented in a stylish surround. A few hiccups with service (one wrong dessert and tepid coffee) were swiftly rectified and addressed in the final bill. Prawn spring rolls were delicious.
A bowl of wholesome Japanese food.
We were quickly seated and order taken soon after. Food and drinks appeared quickly and were excellent quality, tasty and large portions.
Service was attentive and good throughout.
Can't fault it really, given the good value and simple.
I get to eat here a lot since I work nearby. I like how the customer service is always fantastic and they keep the place well organized constantly. Rates are affordable and they serve large portions.
Great food, a bit too noisy to hear your companion over the table, but the food is definitely worth trying. It can get pricy so watch that too!!!
Food was great, good mix of dishes and lots of vegan options. Cocktails were fab especially the Pisco Sour, which was a perfect poison! Service wasn't great, ousted off the table very quickly and the waiters were not very responsive in general.
Definitely one of my favourite places in London! Try their fish or meat tasting menu - you can't go wrong with that!
I only have great things to say about this restaurant. The food and drinks were spectacularly well put together, as Japanese- Peruvian fusion. I was worried it would be pompous and unfilling but it was delectable and so fresh, and we were More
We ordered the menu of 50 euros. The sea bass ceviche and the jokes were awesome. A very good experience worth repeating !!!!
Excellent service from the staff!
Japanese-peruvian fusion food might sound strange but it turns out really delicious!
Amazing food and wine. Had Chotto Bento box. Would recommend.
Despite the unusual cuisine of fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, it is relatively delicious. Personally, I felt that the Peruvian food or the Peruvian food with a Japanese taste added was more delicious.
Excellent fusion of Peruvian and Japanese. Love it!
Terrible service from 2 waiters, 1 of the waiters was very good. 1.5 hour wait, and they got our plates messed up. Wouldn't go back.
Excellent atmosphere..great mix between fine dining & relaxed atmosphere. Lovely music to complement. Food outstanding. Manager was not very accommodating for our crowd of ten people from South Africa. .a bit disappointing.
Great food menu and cocktails. Asian and Peruvian influence in the kitchen. Night scene is also great for pre drinks with DJ music in the background. Bartenders are very talented, quick and serve fancy cocktails. Highly recommended. Locations is also very central at the Soho neighborhood.
Not a bad restaurant but for the price charged the sushi wasn't as good as we hoped. The staff are efficient and quick, it was disappointing that even though we booked in advance we got a table right at the back next the bar.
Loud and quite busy, service was slow and food came out as it was ready, not as separate courses like it says on the menu. Food itself was tasty, and drinks were strong and had good flavour.
one of my favourite restaurants in the world, food is always super delicious and the service is top. great atmosphere and always a delight to revisit
Food was just OK, for the price I expected more. The aubergine was one of the best dishes I've had anywhere, but that was the only dish that I'd recommend. It is a very cool setting, and the service was good it's just let down by the food.
Great cocktails and dessert! However, some of the hot food had the same taste after a while as most dishes had citrus.
Best cocktails I have found in soho. Here they are made professionally. Professional table service, great interior design and did I mention the food! Don't do it, you'll want more!
The food here was simple superb, the fish melted in your mouth it was that fresh.
Great food! amazing fusion between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine! Staff can be a bit arrogant sometimes but the food makes up for it!
Terrible service, don't think the waiter was even sober.
Got sparkling water instead of still.
Waiter was supporting himself on the table while describing the sushi, and said... 'this is salmon, this is tuna and i think this is a scallop.'
Had to get another waiter several times just to chase up on the intial service, as whenever we flagged our waiter he waved us away.
Food was nice, but very overpriced for the experience that waiter left us.
Foodie friends should avoid this place.
I have been there twice, love the atmosphere and food. Service was so bad both times, I don't think I will be going back.
Amazing menu in trendy, happening location in Soho. Great staff.
Very Delicious Maki Rolls , the lamp rack was super juicy, and Yes I m going back again
This place is completely up itself! Food mediocre and expensive, tables way too cramped. Staff very condescending seem to think they are superior to customers....
I recently visited London and a good friend of mine recommended I check out Chotto Matte. This place is amazing! Interior decor is really chic and upscale. I went closer to 9pm and there was 6 of us in my party. The restaurant has a trendy lounge feel at night. I loved the atmosphere- it was buzzing with conversations with some of the hottest music playing in the background. We had some dietary restrictions in our party(I m a vegetarian and two of my friends were vegan) but we had no issues finding delicious food to try on the menu. The wait staff was great to deal with! They didn t hesitate to accommodate our dietary restrictions and made recommendations on tapas we should try. I would definitely go back to Chotto Matte!
Tips: this place gets booked up pretty fast, make reservations here at least a week ahead.
Delicious food. Will need to come back some time soon to try more of the menu.
A surprising mix of Japanese and Peruvian inspiration. Immersive experience driven by the tasteful decoration of the place and an helping and smiling staff even on a busy Friday evening!
Highly recommended for an evening with group of friends. Food is excellent and great cocktails. Sometimes the service can be slow due to how busy it gets but overall is a great way to spend a Friday or Saturday! Booking in advance highly recommended.
