Great in a group or as a couple. Atmosphere is fun and vibrant with good music.

The food is excellent with lots of choices. The Peruvian twist to Japanese makes for fun tastes - Tuna taco and tostido amazing. Guacamole and edamame to start are also fresh and yummy.

Service friendly. Food comes out as it s ready so sometimes too quick- all of a sudden you have 6 plates on your table. Could be paced out a bit better. But overall fun and yummy!

Was very impressed with this place.

Was very impressed with this place.

I love sushi and was a bit skeptical as this is a modern/fusion take on sushi. A lot places in London try this and fail IMO. You can still get excellent nigiri and fav s like O-Toro, Uni, etc. However, even the more modern/flashy dishes and rolls were very tastefully done. Cocktails on point too .

I also never review things, but what prompted me to do this was excellent customer service. I showed up early the day before covid-lockdown 2 and was seated no question. My bill was also incorrect and the staff were quick to point this out (themselves) and correct it. Responses online are fast too.

My only neg feedback is things are pricey, but honestly if you re getting fusion sushi at an upscale Soho venue, what do you expect? You pay what you get for and I have to say Chotto-Matte was worth the premium!

Been here a couple of times now and it never disappoints. Great selection of dishes, interesting cocktail menu and really helpful and friendly staff. On some tables I find the seating a little uncomfortable but that's a small price to pay for an otherwise amazing place.

Super nice Peruvian-Japanese fusion food (order the Chanchito, you won't regret it ;)), attentive service, delicious cocktails (specially the Pisco Sour and Jasmine Fantasy!), and peaceful atmosphere. 100% recommended.

Went for cocktails mid afternoon so the place was pretty quiet. Service was excellent, bar staff very knowledgable about Pisco. Pisco cocktails were amazing and we managed to try a few more than we had planned. Can t wait to go back

Amazing food and great service... Pity we can't hear ourselves talk due to the high volume music. The music was great too... But when I go out to dinner with my friends and family I do like hearing them and don't like shouting...

Waiting staff was very patient and explained the menu in detail. We sat on the ground floor where it was low lighting and thumping music. Food was delicate and flavours came through. Had the Nikkei 9 course tasting menu which is recommended. Inspired cocktails.

The staff wouldn't ask the table next to us to be more quiet, reason being they were personal firends with the manager; the table next to us started clapping and standing up. We asked the waiter to ask them to be more quiet; he said he could not do so, he asked for our undertanding saying they had several drinks, when we later insisted we learned that the table next ot us were personal firends of the manager and thus couldn't be called to order.

I used to absolutely adore this place, especially the Bento Box (lunch menu). However, as I went there one day expecting a brilliant lunch with a friend, the service of the staff was so unwelcoming it made the food taste bland and the place just completely lost its flare.
It took 10 minutes for a staff to bring in the requested sparkling water; another staff just left the food on the table without explaining what was served, on top of having a, "why are you here?" all written over his face.
I would have expected a little more of courtesy and hospitality from a restaurant of such.

Such experience clearly does not apply to all service staff and has been brilliant prior to this certain visit. I've been going to this restaurant for almost 4 years now and this was just extremely disappointing.

This place deserves 5 stars, amazing food, beautiful place, nice ambiance and friendly staff, but their time restrictions to enjoy every of these nice things is too short. Sorry guys, after a stressful week the last thing I expect is a rushed dinner.

Nice location and food was tasty but the managers attitudes and approach to customers ruined this for me.

They forgot 2 people's food and all was served late and cold. For such a good reputation I was disappointed

Food was good and barmen great! Restaurant staff was completely untrained and unfriendly at all. Not to mention pouring red wine on my dress and not feeling sorry, we had to ask for water 10 times to be told the waiting staff was too busy to serve us.

Expensive but worthy. Delicious food and reasonable portions. The service hasn't been the best tho. The waitress seemed annoyed by the time we toke to decide if we wanted the shared menus or single dishes, unnecessarily considering we toke 10 minutes in total during some conversation. Also she was taking plates before finishing them, once she also said: "ah, you also eat the fat" while putting it back on the table. Food is mainly Japanese with some Peruvian influences with the ceviche marinated style raw fish and meat. A part of that when I asked if they had anything with the typical Peruvian corn they said NO.

Absolutely divine Japanese, Nikkei Peruvian inspired dishes. We were wandering the street of Soho after the holidays and was lucky to just walk in without reservations.

Ordered the Nikkei sharing menu II (so much for one person and my companion was not hungry so a major dilemma) plus the Spinach salad with the most amazing truffle ponzu vinaigrette. Stellar tostadita, Calamari tempura, Beef Tataki and then some time end in yuzu mocha ice cream w best chocolate mousse tasted all year. Waddled out of the dark ambient mural clad moody space stuffed and contented and dreaming to come back.

Service was paced and stellar and perfect amount of attention without usual overbearing water filling.

More than 5 stars if I could! The food is incredible, especially recommend the black cod which is insanely good. Pisco sours are excellent too. Really friendly and helpful staff, good service, wonderful food and drink! They do a pre-theatre menu in a Bento box, which was a great selection and went down well with all! Thanks for a great evening.

Pretentious and theatrical but lacks substance. Bland vegetarian tasting menu, took a while for every dish to come, service is either trying too much or ignoring (taking plates as soon as food is taken, literally, standing behind the back and waiting or walking their way down the corridor and not letting the customer go first). Took ages to get a coat back. Unsuccessful amateurish mimicking of a dine dining. Maybe good for lunch or a cocktail.

Please only come here if you want to drink in a stylish place and are willing to eat before or after. Drinks were good, good wine and sake selection. Service was also ok. BUT food was an absolute catastrophe, even the basics:

Miso soups was tasteless, guacamole was disgusting (picture attached). This place is trying too hard to be a Nobu/Zuma when it seems it should try and be a Benihana instead

In summary, if you are used to eating proper food internationally this is not the place for you, however if you want to take snaps of somewhere fancy instead of your usual pub food and McD s this is the place for you.

This place does not only have the best food in London but by far the best service!! There's always a server you can talk to or ask things. You never wait to be served or to get the bill or anything in between. They always pay attention to you and make sure your glass is filled with water. Everyone who works there is so well mannered and gives 200%. I've been to super expensive restaurants and places in the shard and heron tower and 20 fenchurch street and they didn't have such an outstanding service. Thank you so much for giving us an amazing experience every time.

During my recent visit to Toronto I had the pleasure to discover a vibrant city with an interesting food scenario, which in my opinion, has anything less compare to the major city around the world.
Chotto-Matte was the highlight of my vacation in Toronto, a Japanese Peruvian restaurant, where everything from the decor to the food and service was above my expectations. Nikkei Sashimi, Cod and Tenataculos de Pulpo were spot on. Every dish was well thought and prepared. I can t wait to try their original location here in London.
Thanks to Lorenzo for the amazing night everything was just perfect. Congrats to the people behind this unique concept.

The service is terrible. Such a shame as the food was awesome. Had my parents visiting London and I was so embarrassed. My mum felt intimidated, and I'm not surprised, the wait staff are up their own arse, and couldn't care if you were there or not. Good luck getting your bill and paying.. such a shame!

Positives -

Positives -
Good food, and nice atmosphere in the restaurant
Would recommend getting sharing plates and small nibbles and just to share rather than ordering a main which can be underwhelming.

Negatives -
Staff seem quite picky with who can sit upstairs rather than downstairs
The bill will add up, and you can probably get better value for money else where
Some food is gimmicky - Example flame torching sushi on the table - its a nice thought but actually takes away from the flavour
