Choices is very dedicated to their foster parents, the children they serve, and the whole southwest Ohio community. Our family loves the special events & opportunities they provide through out the year. Cincinnati Reds Games and Kings Island are always our kids' favorites!
My husband and I started our training with Choices in 2015, became licensed, and got our first placement quickly after that. Since then we have had on going training both on and off campus by Choices staff and outside speakers. We are both extremely happy with this agency as they have done wonderful things not only for the kids but also for us.
We have enjoyed trips to Kings Island with our kids, the kids have enjoyed trips to Cosi, movies, and summer picnics. We have nothing but positive things to say about Choices and the donors that have helped make birthdays and holidays even that more special!
My husband and I have been licensed for just over a year now and we have been with CHOICES since day one. From the licensure process to the fostering of our first child to the adoption of our first child, they have been there. They treat us with respect, listen to our needs, answer our questions, and help resolve issues with the utmost urgency allowed by state law. Our trainers and our case worker are top-notch. We were scared of taking someone else's child in while the parents get the help they need, but it has proven to be a wonderful experience with CHOICES at our side. They help us with any issues we have with the county workers and are very quick to respond to any calls or texts. U have never waited longer than an hour for a response to non-urgent issues or questions and never more than about 15 minutes with urgent issues. My husband and I love CHOICES and the Care they give to their foster parents and foster children. If you are considering fostering, do it!! If you are considering using a foster agency, I highly recommend CHOICES!!

This non-profit is an amazing organization in so many ways. The magic that CHOICES, Inc produces, with the support of the community, isn't comparable for the foster families, foster youth, clients and their families in one of the mental health programs, and their staff.
The youth and their families get supportive services from highly qualified workers that believe in CHOICES's mission. The families and youth involved with CHOICES can get resources, trainings, donated items/support. They also receive opportunities throughout the year for networking, socialization, enjoyment, and appreciation.
Pertaining to the workers at this non-profit and how well we are supported is also not comparable to other places of employment that I have seen in my 15+years in the human services field. We receive educational, professional, and personal support. The administration believes that supporting your staff gets better results and better productivity.... This is practiced daily. Medical, paid time off, and vacation time with trainings in house to meet licensure requirements and other (paid) CEU opportunities is just the beginning of the overall benefit from working at CHOICES, Inc.
The family type atmosphere at the agency has forever touched my heart. I appreciate what they can do for others in need, but I'm grateful for what they have done for me. CHOICES, Inc is truly a community support that starts in the office and spreads throughout the Miami Valley.
CHOICES- I can't even put into words the amount of love and respect that I have for this group of phenomenal people. They have been great mentors, teachers, protectors, confidonts and our biggest fans and cheerleaders. Even after 25 years I still have contact with them and they are still there doing their God given calling. It truly takes a special person to do this type of work and I could not be more proud of this group of amazing individuals.
I was an Direct Care Worker for the Independent Living portion of this program and I could say nothing but amazing things about this program, it's staff and the programs. The people running this program are absolutely top notch in every way. The care and compassion that they bring to the field is what every social work agency should strive for. Robert Bruce was my direct supervisor and I would put him on my very short list of role models, mentors and all-around quality human beings on this earth and in this field. 4 years after being employed there, I continue to remain in touch with many people there and would recommend them for any foster care needs you might have.
Let's simply say, I'm looking into legal avenues. Maybe they're not ALL bad but, why roll the dice. I'm done with them.
Choices placed our twin daughters with us. At thier adoption they gave us gift cards to Build a Bear which was such a thoughtful way for us to commemorate our special family day.
My husband and I became lisenced with Choices last year. They have beenn fantastic to work with, and very supportive of our entire family- not just the children they've placed in our care.
Very poor communication. Very slow to return calls. Lack of follow through on major concerns with foster children placed in the home. Supervisor refused to take calls, several days to return call after voicemail left explaining the situation and violent behavior of child causing safety risk to younger child in the home.
I am a former foster youth of Choices IL. I am now a successful 33 year old woman with 4 beautiful children of my own! I have all the respect & thanks in the world for each caseworker/staff through Choices who helped me through some of the toughest obstacles in my young life, even after I aged out! Still to this day I can count on Mr. Robert Bruce & his co workers without a doubt to help me, listen to me, love me unconditionally, but most importantly keep inspiring me to grow! Thank you all so much for the hard work & dedication you provide to so many. It s never gone unnoticed or unappreciated! Your work is amazing! The world needs more people who have the heart to work with strangers who become like family!
