Overall this place has wonderful customer service, a large selection of both slot machines and table games and good food. The only downside is the Winner's Circle program, if your account does not maintain a certain point accrual, they downgrade your status which I don't think is fair. I'm a regular contributor and don't see that ending soon. It's better at the beach!

Going for the first time in years, it would have been nice to have a greeter, someone to answer questions, welcome you & point you in the right direction. Many employees walked by, but none of them spoke. Its a beautiful property but is missingthat fun, exciting casino energy! With COVID19 I would have expected it to be a lot more sanitary, no one was wiping machines or anything.
Very pleasant overall. Beautiful location, sitting on a bluff with an unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. However the back door hinge on my room was extremely rusty and door didn't always close easily.
They have a sportsbook along with table games. Everything you get in Vegas here at the Oregon Coast. Worth the drive from PDX or Salem for a weekend getaway. Right on the Pacific Ocean
Came here just for dinner and to play a bit. Decided to visit the buffet upon arrival. Waited in line for probably 20-25 minutes which is fine in the current Covid world. Once we paid possibly the angriest "hostess" in the world directed us to our table. She probably needs to be removed from a customer facing position.
After the relief of her leaving we went and got food. Now buffet food generally to me isn't the best but you can usually never go wrong with a filet and some prime rib.... Well in this case you can. One bite of the filet immediattely turned my stomach. I moved onto the prime rib which had ZERO flavor but for $25 a plate I powered through. I also sampled some mac n cheese and have had better from a generic box at Safeway.
At that point I gave up on getting my money's worth and decided it was time to go try my luck at the slots but my wonderful meal decided to say not so fast!!! Decided to head back to our hotel where thankfully our room had two bathrooms cause that's basically where the night was spent!!!!
Looking back probably should of gone to the steak house as I'd imagine the cost would of been similar and maybe had edible food. $50.00 wasted!!!!!
Hey guy's we are locals, what happened over the years! We have eaten at your buffet numerous times over the years. When you hired that chef from out of state years ago your quality and scrumptiousness was at a 10+ for the first few years. Now for years the quality is degraded, at times not edible. We were frequenting you establishment every week as a ritual on Boomer Tuesday's, afterwards we gambled most of the day away. Now because of the above degradation we come once every 2 months were lucky at that. Instead We drive into Spirit Mt. from Lincoln City Now. We look forward to returning to our previous local ritual. Many if our local and out of town friends have voiced the similar disappointing experiences, they too are heading to Spirit Mt. Step it up please, Raise that bar, Win Us Back Please! We miss you.
The second you walked in the 1st set of doors it reeked of smoke! Trying to make my way to the Non-smoking section while plugging my nose, this section was has an extreme limited amount of machines in comparison to the smoking section. We will NOT be going back.
I never lose as much here and sometimes win. You can see and hear people winning around you. Staff helpful. I didn't give 5 stars because the restaurant upstairs is extremely expensive. Can't eat at buffet too much food. Downstairs takes long time when busy but food nicely priced.
Room was stale smelling, phone didnt work. Had to call someone to fix it. Skirting on bed had pet urine on it. Room was dirty and not worth the almost $200 dollar price tag. I cancelled at another hotel to be on the beach. Thats about the only good thing about it other than the very nice staff at front desk.
My friends and I went for the Sunday buffet. It was good as far as buffets go, but I don't feel it was worth the $20 per person. They don't even have bottles of ketchup at the tables, you have to wait for your server to bring you a tiny little cup of it.
Was a little disappointed due to I went for seafood night. And the cashier told me they were out of crab and shrimp but she would still have to charge me the same food price. I'm glad she did communicate that with me so we could go somewhere else... But I expected the casino would of had the seafood for seafood night. Or change the price to reagular since they were not serving seafood.
Ok casino. I haven't been here in about 10 years and it seems like most of the table games have been replaced with video machines. Food was still great though!
Dozens of penny slots. They have a smoke free section that is right alongside the smoking section. I didn't go in it so I couldn't tell if the air was significantly different but there's no physical barrier separating the two. There were only a few poker tables set up as well. All in all it made for a fun way to kill a few hours. Beautiful beach.
Beautiful Hotel. Walking distance to the beach and casino. If your looking for a relaxing place. Even if it for a night. I highly recommend this place.
Jessica in the steak and seafood restaurant was fantastic! She was our hostess, waitress and cashier. She was friendly, helpful and thoughtful. We very much appreciated such great service! The food was great too!
Very friendly service. A basket of apples and fresh coffee to greet you in the lobby. Nice king bed. We stayed in the least expensive room. Clean. Pleasant updated decor. There was little room to move around the bed, no closet and no iron board or iron and a view of parking lot and casino building. Perfect if you just need a clean place to crash. Reccommend upgrading for any longer stay.
There's really not too much to say about the casino, overpriced drinks and it's to smokey.. I made my yearly trip but the staff is nice and the atmosphere is extremely casual so other than that you get what you get.
The casino was where I was and it was as expected. I played blackjack the dealers were nice. I also at at the buffet. It had lots of options available.
If they haven't mentioned ac room then they don't have ac. Our room was full of smoke smell. There is a beach right besides the hotel , and casino inside the property. Breakfast is decent for the city .
Nice compact casino, but larger than it appears because it has two floors. Very well furnished and tastefully appointed place. Sportsbook too. Cafe was good and not excessively priced (not cheap either but not bad either). I loved the frybread. Interesting that they offer RV parking if you join their gaming club and gamble some every day. As nice as many other larger casinos, just a bit more compact. Hotel is detached though so you have to walk a bit or take their shuttle to game leaving your room.
Disappointed .. haven't been here in a while, poker room is tiny, 3 tables is all, people at the desk were not friendly and couldn't be bothered .. likely be the last time I go in here.
I recently went here with a friend to have the buffet and it was pretty decent. Prime rib was great when it was fresh and the cook station for noodles was also very good. The rest of the food was also good too, although there were a few misses and some of the other hot dishes were pretty bad (chewy fish and stuff). Service was also a bit subpar too. But in general, it's a decent value for pretty decent food.
Hit and miss on the social distancing in the casino as far as slots go. It depends on the area. No table games open. In the main casino about 4 out of 5 or 6 slots open per row. All slots turned on in high limit room. They seem to still be doing fairly good wiping down slots. Need to come up with better plan for smoke tent when fall comes.
Very friendly. Only wanted $20 played on your players card to stay in the dry camp area. Different size parking spaces for different rigs. Our 42 fit fine. Parking lot has a rather large slope, so leveling was a bit of a job. Stone throw away from the ocean
Wonderful location next to the ocean. Easy access to the beach. Gameplay was great with a large selection of slot machines and table games. The buffet was reasonably priced with lots of choices.
The only thing nice about this hotel is that the check-in staff were really nice and the shower head had high water pressure, other than that it was one of the worst stays we have ever had. We reserved a room with a king bed with no view and we got a double bed and the smallest hotel room I have ever seen with no air conditioner. The check-in staff stated since we were on the end of the hotel (D Building), it should be nice and quiet, however it was quite the opposite. The room walls are so thin you can literally hear every sound and conversation from other rooms including the fan in the bathroom of other rooms. House keeping knocks on your door at 10am asking to clean your room. When they were cleaning the room next to us, they were extremely loud as if they were intentionally trying to wake people up. I'm wondering if the reason for that is so you wake up and go gamble. Check out time is at 10am which is an hour earlier than most places. The bed was uncomfortable, the fitted sheet came off the first night and we barely got any sleep. Although being close to the casino was nice, it was not worth staying here. It was probably worse than staying at Motel 6.
My favorite Oregon casino. Laid back beach vibe. Tasty seafood on the Sunday brunch. Nice variety of slots with decent payouts (no guarantees, but I do ok here).
My husband and I have played at Atlantic City, Las Vegas and all of the Washington state and Oregon casinos. Like my husband said, the slots are tighter than a horse's rear in fly season. Horrible playback.
Overall good atmosphere upstairs they have a buffet restaurant and a steakhouse restaurant Downstairs they have a concert hall where they have bingo live music sometimes they also have a non-smoking section for the slot machinesz overnight RV parking with shuttle buses to the front door separate daycare facility separate motel rooms
A nice little casino that suffers by comparison to the Spirit Mountain Casino about 30 miles east. Small but nice gaming areas. Cheap but middling-quality buffet, surprisingly good steakhouse resturant with a lovely ocean view (stay for the sunsets). Convenient to the beach and other attractions. Hotel is not connected directly to the casino, which is a drawback. Not a destination, really, but if you're already at the beach, why not?
I want to thank ook winds, I call them ook winds because they are so broke they cannot even afford to pay to light there sign. I am thanking them for curing me of ever wanting to gamble in another indian owned casino. They have the worst payouts I have ever experienced in my life. I will stick to vegas in the future.
James and Jessie security, kick my friend out for no reason. It was not warranted! Aggressive Jessie came up and told him to leave with no warning or warrant. You guys should talk to your security.
Pictures say a thousand words. This was an outdated, dirty, dusty, stained up carpet (large stains) leaky ceilings with water damage spots, mold and dust on vents and window screen. Caution Update. Assistant manager called me 4 days after leaving to address our issues. When I called him back he asked if he could call me back. I told him no worries. 3 days later no call back. Customer Service again proves to be No customer service.
It's a nice place staff is friendly and helpful. It's clean and nicely lit restrooms are very clean and attended to regularly but have lost more than I've won
Love casinos. Only give it a 4 since Spirit Mountain is so much nicer of a building and has been updated and remodeled so frequently. I would give Chinook a five star rating if they do a remodel/update to the lower level of the building. It just seems too dim and dingy. Smells kind of funky too. Of course I suppose being next to the ocean doesn't help.
Really enjoyed the Restoration Pow wow event for the Siletz tribe. Relaxed environment, walked the beach ,collected rocks. Great place for singles, families or groups. So much to do. Arcade for kids (fun for adults as well).
Casino is wonderful as it has big poker tournaments that are sometimes difficult to find. Great arcade for the young ones and play area for kids. Hotel rooms have fantastic views, however definitely can be cleaner and updated. Close to shopping and right on beach.
