I stayed in Shangri La and Kerry Hotel in Beijing ...

I stayed in Shangri La and Kerry Hotel in Beijing as well. In comparison, the staff service of China World Hotel is much less satisfactory than the other two hotels. There are plenty staffers in the lobby but many of them were just standing there and doing nothing. When I asked them for direction and some minor assistance, their attitude appeared lukewarm.
The check in counter staff even forgot to offer me 3 choices of welcome pastries as I am a Jade member. The male staffer working in the noodle counter at the breakfast restaurant was even busy chatting with a co-worker about non essential matters while guests were waiting to place order.

Your service and staff is always very good. Ms. Nancy Cao has always taken the extra efforts to make sure my stay is great. She is very helpful but most of all makes you feel at home at the China World Hotel. Her professional and friendly approach is always welcome.

When we arrived there was no bell boy to take care...

When we arrived there was no bell boy to take care of our luggages. Concierge was not helpful and not friendly when asked about the direction to travel within Beijing.

Overall did not get the 5-star experience but all charges are at 5-star rate

Upon checkin, no one advised us that we can go to ...

Upon checkin, no one advised us that we can go to the dedicated Horizon Club or advised us of any amenities we can have. Also, the front desk employees does not communicate in English very well. I wanted to confirm if we have an additional bed in the suite room but the lady at the front desk cannot understand what i meant with having an extra bed, she was very confused about extra bed and additional room. It's very difficult to communicate with the front desk employees. 3 individuals assisted me but did not succeed until I requested to speak to a manager which took around 45 minutes just to wait for a resolution. During our stay, a lot of times the tv is not working. I was told it's because of the rain. We reported it but the technician also does not speak English so we just waited for it to get resolved without any timeline. Prior to checking out we went to Horizon Club for breakfast and i tried to print our cruise documents but no one seemed to know how to operate the printer at the Club lounge. I was asking for assistance but i was told it was a busy time since people are having breakfast. I asked for the manager being that we will be late for the cruise as i have to travel to Tianjin to join a cruise. The Horizon Club manager came in around 9:40 and finally assisted me. This whole process took two and a half hours just to print a document. No one seems to bother to help me until the manager came. This was very poor customer service for a suite guest. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in the world but i never expected this service from a Shangri-la property. i was very disappointed in our stay. It's very hard to communicate to everyone and employees doesn't really care even if you stay in a Club room. I hope a resolution will take place on this complaint so you can better treat your guests in the future as this is a very bad experience specially for a suite guest. Thank you.

Originally thought that the whole hotel was very old, but when it was found in the lobby, it was quite magnificent, and the overall feeling of the room was very good. The service of the hotel is also very good. Some of the shortcomings are that the hotel is on the 2nd floor. It is not convenient to enter and exit. When the first time I checked in, the driver took a long time to find the way to go. In addition, the door of the shower room was leaking.

The equipment is well maintained and the rooms are elegant and comfortable. The Shangri-La s consistent fragrance is pleasant in the lobby. The side entrance is directly connected to the Guomao Station of Metro Line 10. The fly in the ointment is that there are too few nearby stores.

It's always a pleasant experience staying at a Sha...

It's always a pleasant experience staying at a Shangri-la hotel. It's no exception this time December 17 to 31, 2019 when my family was on vacation in Beijing at China World Hotel.

Whether it's the front desk or the service staff, their services were outstanding. They are not only friendly, but also thoughtful.

For example, when they provided daily fresh fruits to my room, they added pear to the fruit supply since it's dry in Winter Beijing. On the Christmas day, they offered a box of chocolate. And another day when it's my son's birthday, they also delivered a birthday cake to celebrate the special moment for my family.

I will return to China World Hotel next time when I visit Beijing.

It is a Chinese great hotel, Shangri-la of Beijing. Well I laugh, but it is seriously luxurious. The details are really Chinese quality, so let's forgive. Can you tell if the luxury level is about 93 points and the cleanliness level is about 78 points? I think that I can stay in peace. Very relaxing in the lobby. I talked a little with the Chinese (Beijing) who used the lobby, but I think that manners are relatively good. He said that he likes Japan (speaking?). I put back that I liked China (a little lie).

I think it is a hotel of high level normally. However, it is a story that is not limited to this, but it will also be anxious if it bothers you at other hotels, but that the floor has not been thoroughly cleaned (some times you may notice the trash falling on the floor) was. The breakfast buffet has a small number of items but I think the quality is high. Chinese food is daily, so I did not get bored even after several nights. Also, I was happy to have a cup for take-away coffee. It is in the corner of China World Mole, and there are no shortages of shopping and restaurants, but it was a little inconvenient to have no convenience store open until midnight. (August 2018)

Unlike in August, I used the room on the north side. The view is better on the south side. The tree was decorated during the Christmas season. (December 2018)

Everything was great, the only thing that I would mention is that I was asked to wear a plastic cap in the swimming pool, which I refused as I thought it was a very old school and the cap was not the most hygiene thing anyway. Before my Beijing office moved to the Chaoyang district I always stayed at the Grand Hyatt because it is the closest hotel. I did not have to wear a cap. I hope I will not be asked again next time I return at your property as I truly enjoy the experience. Thank you.

China World Hotel is the best Shangri-La hotel I ever stayed in Mainland China. They have the best food and health club. They also try to make it better.
Rebecca, Nancy, Cindy from the 3rd floor 's lounge give me deep impression, they are very professional and help me check in and check out.
I recommend all of business travel people come here, it is great.

As a diamond member, I have always been a loyal guest of Shangri-La. But this time the big stay in China was very bad.
1. The quality of the service staff is low. The duty manager at the service counter has no reason to deal with me, burying his head and doing things, deliberately avoiding the residents.
2. Check out when I can check out in English, jade yu has always let me line up on the side, why? Communication skills are so bad, ask the guests not to ask
3. I have stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel for many times. The mini bar is usually free of charge, but the Chinese University charges it. I feel very confuse.
4. Kerry hotel sometimes exempts me from a part of the laundry fee. The interpretation of my mini bar usage and laundry fees is also very poor. The original is like: "Our hotel mini bar has always been charged, don't you know?!" Just give me a blank eye.

I travel to Beijing International Trade for 2 weeks every month, from traders, kerry, jen hotel to China. It is hard to believe that China is such a quality. Let me think that SPG may be a better choice for travellers.

We booked the larger club room and it was very spa...

We booked the larger club room and it was very spacious. The new club lounge is very comfortable with the high ceiling and open designed. We don't eat a lot at breakfast, so the selections were more than adequate. It was a pleasure talking with Philip.
The location of the hotel fit our purpose perfectly as it is right on the subway line. The expanded China World Mall gave us a lots of dining choices as well.
We left an overcoat in the closet as the weather was much warmer than expected. We made a call in the taxi while halfway to the airport; we got a call back when we reached the airport telling us everything has been found and we can pick them up when we return.

Very nice hotel in a central location. The lobby is grand with an amazing staircase, featuring opulent gold and red style fitout. Rooms are nice with the hotel staff helpful and friendly. Hotel is attached to a shopping centre and can get to the Beijing subway trains without needing to go outside.

always nice to stay in a hotel where people care..this was our 2nd time here and they remember us right away upon check-in..Nancy's Team at the Horizon Club always ready to assist us...give up the good work!!

Our only negative comment is the Dinner..I remember last year that the set-up at the main coffee shop (Scene a Cafe) was the same as this year...the same seafood menu as well as the meat items..even the decor is the same.. so I think this should be given some thoughts..this will attract more people..we've been in other hotels in China and had dinner in a few and it was really really great for the price!...

Don't really feel the human touch despite being a jade member.
I remembered it was payment in advance for me but when i wanted to do the mobile check in, the apps asked for my credit card details again. Thus, I did not do the web check in as I was worried that I got charged again.
Breakfast was only average and some of the service personnel could not comprehend English.
Hotel needs a face lift despite clean and nice but it looks quite old and dated.
Prices at the Spa are expensive.

Dear Sirs
We arrived at the hotel after an 8 hour flight delay at 04:00 AM at the hotel. Instead of getting a good nights sleep during the hours left till day break we were awoken at 08:30 AM by the noise of power drills banging hammers and construction work. We called the front desk numerous times who promised to deal with the situation. At 10:00 AM we just gave up and lost our nights sleep.
we went to the front desk and met the duty manager - Bruce, who kindly changed our room to the top floor for some peace and quiet.
Regretfully, we were not credited for the first night's stay!
UPDATE
The hotel credited us for the stay! We are very pleased with this approach! Bruce was very helpful throughout our stay and made sure we were well taken care of!

I used to think this is an old and shabby hotel because of her history but I found myself totally wrong. It s new, warm, comfy and full of scent of, well, home. I truly wish you keep her that way and look forward to seeing you every time when I am in town.

I always enjoy my stay at the Shangri-La China World Hotel, so much so that it is the only place I stay now in Beijing or Singapore. The staff is always courteous and friendly, amenities rich and location convenient.

Nancy, Joy and Fiona in the Horizon Club lounge are always extremely kind and recognize me by name which makes it feel even more comfortable.

I stayed 3 nights in the hotel with 2 separated st...

I stayed 3 nights in the hotel with 2 separated stay. One night I can smell clearly someone is smoking heavily in my neighbour room (there is connecting door between 2 rooms), I complained this to the hotel, they upgrade me to a suite room (appreciate that), but I thought the hotel should stop the smoking guest immediately. This is not acceptable the guest is smoking despite there is clear sign (non-smoking) in the room.
Last obviously there is not enough doorman in hotel concierge.

The overall style and design of the hotel is very good, especially the heavy sense of Chinese luxury in the lobby.
However, the service of the hotel is really bad. When the car is waiting, there is no doorman to open the door; the waiter misplaces the welcome ceremony and enters the door directly. It is not apologetic; the hotel staff never greets; the pool is not closed, the administrator is pulling The scorpion rushed the guests; the front desk was very unprofessional, said 2 related membership numbers, and there was no connection when checking out. Overall, the quality of service is very disappointing.

I was expecting a lot more from my stay in Shangri...

I was expecting a lot more from my stay in Shangri-La, however, I was extremely disappointed.

I liked that our room was clean and very quiet. However, there was not an elevator directly to our room and no one had explained to us how exactly to get to our room, which was very confusing. And not what I expect from a hotel of your reputation. We did not have a bath, which we were expecting.

There was absolutely no information in our room about timings for Breakfast or the benefits we were entitled to having paid for the Horizon Club. We were not told anything about this which led to us not being able to use the facilities fully and missing the afternoon and evening times which would could have gone.

The staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed breakfast at the Horizon club.

I was extremely disappointed by the facilities in the pool. The hot tub was very dirty with hair and dirt lying on top.

I have stayed in Nuo Beijing and in the Rosewood and I felt that both of these hotels were far better in terms of facilities and experience.

Always a warm welcome and nothing is ever too much trouble.
This time, first time in one of the newly refurbished club rooms - very nicely done, very comfortable, bright and good feel to the room and decor.

A standard international-standard hotel, with a fe...

A standard international-standard hotel, with a few annoying features that detract from the guest experience. Primary among these is the taxi service. Taxis don't wait outside the hotel; rather, the concierge orders them over an app. However, this can take an indefinite amount of time. After waiting 15 minutes, the concierge could give me no indication as to when the taxi would arrive. At that point, I just gave up. Another annoyance is the placement of the bedside sockets - it took me a few days to realize that they are, in fact, hidden underneath the bedside table. The shower is also annoyingly difficult to turn off.

Great facilities, very nice gym and lovely pool ! The access to the executive lounge was really good. The staff were brilliant and food excellent. Room was spacious and view was nice. The location was , ok for for business meetings, but if you were hoping to be in the middle of the city, you may prefer another more Central location. I loved the overall hotel and can def recommend.

Our first trip to Beijing was an absolute delight thanks to the team at Shangri-La China World Hotel. Even before we arrived, Philip and Nancy from the Horizon Club were pro-active in organising our requirements and Philip was very helpful during our stay with useful tips and advice. Our Concierge, John, was very helpful organising some trips for us. We are grateful to the team for their cooperation during our stay and commend Philip, Nancy and John for their professionalism.
