Brilliant place to go around. I would recommend several times as going once does not do it justice. Loved the elephants and the lions.
Great family day out. Animals really well looked after and happy and staff always willing to talk/help. Very clean and plenty to do here and see. Great variety of animals too. Love the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at this zoo.
Brilliant zoo, well worth the money. Even though it rained non stop we were there all day . So much to see, definitely the best zoo I've been too. Wear comfortable shoes as there is alot of walking. Buggies and mobile scooters are avaliable to hire.
Love chester zoo! We try to visit every summer holiday! Always have an amazing range of animals to see. Always clean and plenty of space and areas to bring a picnic and eat.
*post lockdown* very organised, staff all around to direct and help with one way systems and ques. Have to wear face coverings in small/indoor/enclosed areas. I thought personally it is a way better way then before covid, as was less busy and better chance of seeing animals close without crowds.
I loved every minite of being there, the baby giraffes are just adorable
Given a 5 for coping with Covid conditions. Although 4.5 more accurate. Some lengthy queues to get into certain exhibits but due to covid measures. They do need to open more drinks only stalls. We only wanted drinks and queues for those serving food too were very long. We took a picnic, and I was able to go out to the car to collect it and meet my family with food in hand with no issues. Overall a great day.
Kids had a good time, lots of the attractions were closed though due to covid so I don't feel we got value for our money.
The best zoo that I have been to by far. Really enjoyed our day here.
We love going to the zoo. We went
with friends this time and found animals we had never seen before. Our trip was wonderful. My one piece of advice is that some of the face painters are better than others! The play areas are great. The zoo is clean and the staff are friendly.
Great zoo, you do need a full day to get round it all, book before hand, as its cheaper. Food - take a packed lunch, on site food is nice, pizza is great, however its not the cheapest (8 quid for a basic burger n chips).
Visited zoo today. Yes places were closed but that was to be expected. Staff in many areas making sure people social distanced and some parts were one way. Some people didn't obey rules so you do have to be vigilant but we really enjoyed our day and importantly it helps to ensure Chester Zoo survives this pandemic.
So much to see and not enough hours. Could easily spend 6hours or more here. Love coming to the zoo! So glad I have my membership!!
Having watched the programme I wanted to visit, I was so impressed, what an amazing place, loads for kids to do, placesto eat and drink very reasonably priced, gotta say a big shout out to debbie in one cafe and her boss carl cardus staff all so friendly and helpful I thoroughly enjoyed the day and recommend going!
Really great well worth the money great for kids too so much to do :)
Understandably due to Covid, some parts are closed. Not a great choice of food and not very nice. Aside from that it was as always a lovely day and a great experience
Very much enjoyed the zoo I recommend that you should visit
Great zoo, great price and wonderful animals. Such good enclosures, well cared animals and great layout. I love how the islands is built
Super zoo with plenty of places to eat or to have a picnic, facilities were good
Wonderful day out as always. Bit disappointed some of the animals were not out and the elephants had been put away an hour before closing. Left rh m till last as they're our favourite
Great zoo with lots to see and every time is something different
The animals appeared to have decided to play a grand trick on the day we came, and hide themselves as well as if they were all chameleons. Walked through half the zoo and saw only empty enclosures.
Not entirely sure why we were forced to view the penguins through a tiny little slit of a window at waist height - shy maybe?
Its a very nice zoo lots of animals but unfortunately due to the covid 19 regulations there were a lot of attractions & animals that couldn't be seen.
Also quite expensive snack places went for lunch which had to be pre -booked in the restaurant which was very expensive for very small portions.
Very good zoo. Lots of uninhabited spaces though, which makes walking round it seem even bigger somehow. Paid for monorail, but queues were so big there was no chance of using them.
Still a good experience overall though
Cant fault it. Money seems to be invested back into better animal enclosures.
Best of it's kind. Enjoyed the restaurant and great gift shop should you want at the end of the day for the wee ones.
Plenty to see. We never got round it all in a day. Some great play areas for the kids.
Parking good and some Nice picnic areas. Great section of garden near the house/restaurant.
Always a great family day out . Loads of update and new attractions too. And new food courts . Reasonable prices
Due to covid 19 there was alot of changes with some attractions closed and others being redeveloped with nothing mentioned on the website but on the whole a good day out enjoyed my day at the zoo
Loved it.. for all the family.
Idealy take a pack lunch as loads of places to eat. Needs the whole day tho as lots to see and do
I love this place, great selection of animals with lots of space and great wildlife programs. However I can t get behind the food and drink price gouging. I understand a lot of it goes back to the zoo, but it s extortionate now.
I'mBest zoo I have been to with great variety of animals. Staff knowledgeable friendly and very polite. Look forward to going back and would recommend to anyone
Loved to see all the animals. They are all lovely. They also like to come and see you.
Amazing place, loads to see. Never been disappointed yet
Absolutely amazing day out, so much to see that spending the entire day from opening to closing is advisable.
The food is nice and reasonably priced, also throughout the Zoo the Covid measures are the best we've seen anywhere.
Fantastic... very clean... the animals are treated so well and seem very happy... we took a packed lunch but still thought the price of drinks was reasonable we will be coming again in the summer thanks for a great family day
What a fantastic place - love it and will visit many more times in the future
1st time I have ever been. It was a fantastic day out.
Excellent day and great social distancing/ COVID measures which didn't affect the enjoyment of the day at all.
Fantastic place to go with family, kids loved. defiantly would recommend.
Great zoo, loads to do. The Madagascar walk is amazing, you get to walk with Lemurs.
Chester zoo has always been amazing but just keeps getting better.
Excellent day out always fun to see all the animals
Lovely zoo it takes a good day to go around but 2 days is best as u see things u have missed. Plenty for the kids and adults to do and very good priced
Fabulous day here, good large enclosures for the animals with lots to see and do.. shame the monorail costs more but overall a great Zoo
Amazing zoo with large variety of animals and lots of facilities. 4 stars as food can be expensive, discount for members makes it reasonable however. Great day out for the family
Great day out .. the place is huge and full of all kinds of animals.. u defo need a day here there places to eat but they get so busy so id take your own food lots of places to sit and eat.
The parking is free.
Its not cheap to get in but well worth the money !
Well organised in current situation and great value for money. Animals so well cared for and really helpful staff.
Always enjoy a visit around zoo see something different each time
Really quite good considering the weather, surprisingly the butterfly enclosure was a real treat as it was warm and a very interactive experience
Brilliant days out here, love the work they do here.
Chester Zoo Christmas Lanterns, great night the Lanterns and the puppets were fantastic.
All the children loved playing around the snow machine, nice little Christmas Market.
An awesome place to go visit by yourself or with children. We were on the go for 4hrs and only got halfway round. Going back soon to do the other half, and the gift shop is awesome too.
Absolutely brilliant place it's amazing wish I could go more often
Love it but the food prices could be more reasonable
Amazing place, even in winter ! Beautiful animals and very friendly staff, very accessible. Thank you.
We went for my daughter's 2nd birthday and she loved it. Something to see for everyone and the staff were so helpful. My partner was on crutches and there were plenty of areas to stop and rest on the way round.
Lovely day, lots of hand sanitiser around, a little too many people at some points but staff doing their best to encourage distancing.
Beautiful Zoo with stunning enclosures. Animals all looked very happy and relaxed. We were there from opening time to closing time and still missed a few animals! We will definitely visit again some time.
An amazing day out. Kids really enjoyed themselves.
Very good zoo and staff are friendly and helpful sorry no penguins at moment
I love this place. Great place to waste away an entire day. Really well managed with informative staff and something for everyone.
Hardly any wonder its voted as one of the top 5 zoos IN THE WORLD.
Good for the kids to see bring your own food cos they rip u off
Fantastic day out. Don't go on the mono rail as it takes hours to queue up for a two minute ride which dropped us of on the otherside of the zoo. Signage could be better, but still a good day out.
As there is a lot of maintence going on at the moment it is very hard to navigate round, all the sinage is wrong. Enjoyable day out, but you need to have patience to see a lot if the animals as they like to hide away.
Amazing night. Our first time visiting the lanterns our 2 year old loved it. Stopped in the restaurant half way round had the sliders. Food was really nice staff were friendly.
Would be better if you knew when the animals were out. Most couldn't been seen. Very expensive landscaped garden with not much life, but that's ok because they have animated model dinosaurs.. Was happy to see the lions
Visited yesterday. What a experience. Its was better than ever.
I've seen some negative posts on social media since the reopening. I have to say our experience was all positive. Yes we had to book (we normally do anyway) yes we had to que for certain places. Eg the gorilla house. But by god once inside the experience was so much more enjoyable. It wasn't overcrowded, hot and unbearable. It was hot but we could walk around and see all the animals freely. Yes masks were advised. But who doesnt these days. We walked around in the last hour and can honestly say saw no one. There was hand sanitizer readily available and viewing windows were monitored. Yes there was a few places ie the aquarium still shut but completely understandably. Well done @chesterzoo.
Best zoo I've ever been to plenty to go and see. Animals get well looked after and the staff are really friendly great place to go
Fabulous zoo helpful staff
A great day out
Amazing. Just amazing. Went with the family and all I can say is wow.
Worth a visit. We travelled half way across the country to see this zoo after watching the TV series, and we recommend it highly. Probably the best zoo in the UK.
Great facilities, friendly staff and the animals seemed happy.
Enclosures were lovely and it's nice to see the zoo investing more into making some of the enclosures bigger and better.
A wonderful time I have spent with my family it's big you need at least 5 hours of joy to visit all places, it's full day program, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended.
It a greater place fun for all ages. Plus a good place to go with friends
My daughter absolutely adores this place and I have never been tired of it
The zoo is great as always, The only gripe I have is the cost of food and drinks. Otherwise its a rly good day out but I'd recommend a picnic basket for the trip:) if the cost was lower it'd get 5 stars.
Absolutely love this place. Spent nearly 6hrs walking round and enjoying the animals.
We spent the whole day here and still didn't see everything. The grounds were very clean and the food courts gave great variety to choose from. I would recommend the refill cups if going on a hot day as they are value for money and there are plenty of refill stations spread around the zoo. The kids and adults both loved it and we are looking forward to going back again soon.
Great zoo lots to see and do highly recommended staff are friendly and helpful
Had a fantastic day every thing was clean and tidy and staff friendly loved every minute
I enjoyed every bit of the zoo too bad we didn't quite explore the whole place. It's massive!
Love love love the zoo. The boys and i had an amazing day on our last visit. Lots to see and do it was great xx
Snowy day at Chester but didn't spoil the experience...wonderful to see the keepers keeping the animals in the warm and visitors still able to see them! Would imagine it must be even more magical on a sunny day!
Excellent day today. Not crowded. No queues. Staff amazing. Everything was run perfect considering the conditions we're under.
