Really good day out. Well organised. Just a shame not everyone follows the social distancing and queuing rules. A lot of different habitats were closed but that's understandable with the current situation. Well done chester zoo we shall see you soon

It's Chester Zoo. Enough said. One of a kind, and a national treasure. The staff go above and beyond every visit, without fail, and the amount of animals and habitats is breathtaking. The conservation department and behind the scenes work this zoo does makes it such an important place. Though the animals we can go and see are incredible, the projects the zoo do to maintain and create new habitats all across the world are what makes it truly unique. Enough can't be said of the way that they try and make an impact and help protect animals against the climate and habitat loss crises. Adopting animals is a wonderful scheme, however the bees at the zoo cannot be adopted at this time. I would very much like to adopt the bees. Really though, I think that visiting this zoo is a must for absolutely anybody and we should all do our best to continue supporting such a wonderful place.

Loved Chester Zoo, the staff are very acknowledgeable about the animals. All the animals have plenty of space to roam and they look happy in their space. You can easily spend all day here. My only advice would be to bring your own food as the ones inside are pricey and not worth it in my opinion.

Fantastic place to visit & a lovely day out. Staff were excellent in guidance & keeping everyone safe. Unfortunately we missed some animals, penguins as we couldn't find them, & the whole Islands section as we ran out of time. We understood the importance of queuing but it sadly took time from our visit & meant we missed some areas. Chimps were also nowhere to be seen & their house closed off, it was only by chance we heard the house was too small to safely accommodate visitors adhering to current guidance.
We felt more signage would be helpful to indicate which ways to go, some other zoos seem to do this a lot more but overall we had a lovely day.

Really great day out with kids. Mostly flat so good even for those with limited mobility. Was busy when we visited but this was to be expected as it was a bank holiday. Food options were surprisingly reasonably priced but I was surprised that the train cost extra as the lazy river ride is free. All in all a good visit and amazing to see so many animals.

Fantastic(but very wet) day out today!! Great to see smiling faces of all the staff, helping and guiding people around. Great one way systems in place, reminders to keep you safe, to not touch the glass etc. All the little ones looked to enjoy themselves looking at the animals and splashing in puddles, all the animals we saw were very well looked after, clean cages, lots of food, dry beds in dry enclosures. Top notch day, Thankyou all at Chester Zoo ,we will be back later in the year

Love visiting Chester Zoo. Its so relaxing on my free days from being a full time carer and is so accessable when i take my husband in the wheelchair. Thank you to all the staff for all the help. And thank you all for your dedication looking after the animals during this very challenging times.

Took the wife for her birthday even in the pouring rain we enjoyed the zoo
Animals had the good idea so a lot of them stayed inside still plenty to see as there is a lot you can view from inside
We liked it that much we got ourselves 12 month passes and as we live local it's good value

Not able to see most of animals ,long queues to see certain animals in hot weather ,in my opinion poorly signposted ,what is your policy on smoking in the zoo as i didn't see any signs saying no smoking but there were people smoking in the zoo.

Well, we finally got here...
Ive been watching secret life of the zoo for years. So when we visited it felt like we knew the animals. Even though the weather was awful it didn't matter. Just to see this beautiful zoo and gardens was well worth the visit
We can't wait to go again and see what we missed on this visit

What's not to love about Chester Zoo. The animals were out, the weather was gorgeous (no rain) and dare I say the social distancing worked to children's advantage as they could get to see everything without thoughtless people standing in front of them. A superb day and the staff were brilliant. Well done!!

A great place full of well looked after animals and lots of them. Staff are very friendly and the grounds are well kept. The only thing I would say that is a bit of a let down is I felt that there wasnt enough maps or arrows to give you a sense of where to go and I got lost there more than once . Apart from that a great day out and well worth the gate price .

Brilliant place. It is vast and so much to do. You really need more than one day to see everything. Animals and birds are very therapeutic, and you can get very close to a lot of the animals here. Highly recommended.

Visited Chester Zoo on Monday . Had a great time . One way system worked fine . Lots to see. Great staff readily available . Used public transport from village / Chester Bus Interchange / zoo. Most people took health precautions . Need to book . Check last bus - was just after six pm yesterday . Visit zoo site to check. Great asset to Chester and surrounding areas .

Loving having the zoo on our doorstep! Love it every time we go! Since my little boy has been born in 2015, we've taken him dozens of times to stimulate him in new ways and get him familiar with new animals and their noises; he loves it! It's by far the best family day out in the north of England. The staff are all very approachable, the facilities have variety, and quality to match. 10/10

I can see that in the summer this would be a good family day out but very busy, our issue was we went in Feb for my daughters birthday and quite a few exhibits had nobody at home, so we paid full price for a zoo that wasn't fully open which was disappointing.

Love Chester zoo 1 of my favourite places to go, usually a pretty good day out, theres been a few times I've been and not been able to see some of the animals so that was a bit disappointing, but its overall a good day out .. the gift shops have a good range of items but generally very over priced

What a beautiful place to visit for the day! A massive zoo to walkabout and lots to see as well both indoors and outdoors, all the animals have really big inclosures so you can they are happy there too! There are loads of food stalls around the place so you won't go hungry either, a little bit pricy but worth it for the day out would definitely come again!

Chester is Britains premier zoo hence the star rating, their animal research & conservation programme is second to none, but, with the covid 19 threat, they really should be limiting the amount of people visiting at one time to allow for distancing, unfortunately, they're not doing that. There were long queues for various indoor enclosures, the restaurant was shut, although you could get drinks from various kiosks around the site & maybe a hotdog, but, the crowd numbers control is an issue at the minute.

Having been a member for 10 years and fully supported the zoo throughout the lockdown by paying my membership monthly I am appalled at how they are not allowing me to book tickets on the website. Everytime I try to book the website states that it is fully booked for a member but funnily enough if I was willing to pay there are spaces available. I understand that the zoo can only let a number of guests in at a time but as a member I am so angry that I can't bring my family to the zoo and I have sent several emails and had no response other than a general email that is sent to everyone and you can't speak to anyone on the phones at present .I feel that I will cancel my membership if I don't get a response from them.

Not the best experience I've had with chester zoo. My last visit was when I was 7 and it has definitely changed a lot since then. Took my sons for their 1st birthday and to say they won't remember the day me and my partner will always More

Great time with the children, shame due to the current situation that not all the park was open but understandably. Staff were very helpful and friendly, kept everything as clean as possible and kept to the 2m rule, but unfortunately the 2m rule from some members of the public was not adhered.

Absolutely loved our day out here, this zoo is rather large, so youd need to ensure you make a day of it, it took us 6 hours to get around the whole zoo just once, there is a newish predator section, so it is great for the young paleontologists out there, food is responsibly priced too, but if you dont want to buy food there then there are a lot of lovely places to sit and eat you're own food, I'd recommend sitting by the giraffes as if you're lucky you'll see them get fed :)

Fabulous day out at a fantastic attraction. There is so many things to see and a massive variety of animals. The "bat cave" walkthrough was excellent. Wish it was closer as we'd love to go back more often.

Love, love, love Chester Zoo. Their Conservation work is wonderful. Only drawback is that there are so many play areas, it's hard to get the Grandchildren to actually visit the animals!!! We are now Life Members and visit very regularly. Still finding new displays we didn't know were there. A wonderful, fun and educational place to visit. Xxx

Every visit to Chester Zoo is a good one! The place has such a fantastic layout and is excellent for disabled and pram access. We took an 85 year old and had no problems with viewing animals, access to restaurants, or toilets.

Love what they've done in the zoo and all the conservation programmes they are involved with. Animals all look happy and well looked after. The day we went we were very lucky to not have many people in the zoo so we could talk to all the keepers and ask questions. Would highly recommend!

Amazing place me an my little boy love it! you never get bored I particularly love the handimals your children can make! Food is expensive but you are allowed to bring a picnic I did find out today the monorail has finished forever though

Huge zoo, with great enclosures for the animals. They don't look stressed. The boat ride is free. The food options are very varied, from across the world. You will need to walk a long way to see it all, and the monorail only has 2 stops on the loop above so not much use for saving the feet, but good for seeing the various enclosures. It is well designed for families, and the highlights for me were the playful giraffes and the butterfly house.

An amazing place for a day out. Loads of things and animals to see. I think you need more than a day to see everything. It is good value for the money. Food and drinks can be a bit expensive inside, But you can take your own picnic. highly recommended specially on a dry sunny day.

School Holidays Very Bad Time to go,

School Holidays Very Bad Time to go,
Overcrowded Overpriced And impossible to see the animals with big crowds of adults blocking kids from seeing animals. In terms of Animals not really impressed other better Zoos in the country

Amazing experience!

Amazing experience!

Despite the rain and the impact of COVID, we had an amazing experience for the day. Perfectly organised and well signposted with plenty of hand cleaning throughout the day.
Our only recommendation would be for more signage on food and drink places open!

Did the keeper for a day with the reptiles. Initially I really wanted to see the Komodo close up which didn't disappoint, but throughout the day I enjoyed all the other animals also. Can highly recommend booking this

Who doesn't enjoy a trip to the zoo. I accept that the animals are 'caged' but they are also cared for, fed, bred and in many cases kept from extinction.
It is a chance for normal people who don't have access to 'safari' and world travel money to experience creatures both magnificent and obscure.
It can be expensive but my wife and I have become members in order to visit as often as we like. Also check out any seasonal offers that could cut down your costs.

Beautiful place. The animals are clearly well cared for in lovely surroundings...the zoo itself is spotlessly clean, well laid out and easy to get around. Not a cheap place to visit but worth the money, and you can see the money is being well spent. Great day out. Highly recommend.
