The wait time is ridiculous in the emergency room. I went there and waited 2 1/2 hours to be seen and ended up leaving because I was never called on to be seen. I went there the next day where a head CT was ordered and was told it would be 45 minutes until my results were in, I waited over an hour and a half and was told it d be at least another couple hours. I ended up leaving and told them to call me when the results were in. Fast forward to the next day, I called 22 hours later and was told the results are still not in and now its 24-48 hours . If you have a medical emergency DO NOT go to the hospital. I don t even know how this place remains open.

I came in to the ER, wanting/needing mental help super badly. Some of the nurses were sort of touchy, SUPER DOOPER rude, saying how I wasn t cooperating . Ended up staying in different units/parts of this whole facility multiple times throughout. Made me urine in a cup, took my blood. saying how they didn t think I needed to be admitted, they just told me to take a nap & wake up in the AM. When all I could hear were all these noises of slamming doors, beeping unpleasant noises. Which I mean, that is pretty normal for being in an emergency room but I happened to be in a separate ER room a few days before & had much better care when it came to sleeping. & what wasn t normal was when two of the nurses made me take my hoodie off & stuck a needle in me (this time not drawing my blood)!!! & I remember being severely bruised purple, shortly after. Then the next day when I happened to still be in the ER, someone came through to test me for COVID, brought me into a whole other separate, room to take that test for some odd reason. Then once I figured out that I tested positive, I was pretty confused because they never really told me much about that factor. It wasn t until I had the majorrr diarrhea (a symptom of COVID hint hint!) for them to actually do something to change where I happened to be in the hospital at that moment. I m not saying they necessarily gave me COVID-19 but I m saying I m doing much better now, vaccinated even if I didn t plan on it, & that looking back, it s all a bit weird. I learned I had to advocate for myself after awhile cos these staff members acted so soft in the head for the most part!!! I mean, they all said how sweet I was but I think that the survey i got in the mail will needs to be filled out. & I mean, even though it was otherwise unnecessary for me to stay in their care. Laying in a hospital bed for at least 12 days before I moved on to the next hospital, I would say that I got along with all of the LNAs just as much as they did me after awhile. & even if some stuff I didn t detail & I witnessed was completely scary/messed up, I feel like I would go back to this particular hospital if I ever needed help or anything else. P.S - Plus I ve always dreamed of working in a hospital, & always thought about a job as an LNA so it s also a consideration if I didn t live a bit further away from the city of keen now!:)
Exceeded expectations. Far better experiences than the other urgent care in town.
Everyone I spoke to here was patient, professional, and treated me with notable care and respect, which made a difficult experience a positive one. They took the time needed to understand me and other issues affecting my well being, do a through job in understanding the issue at hand while showing sensitivity to my other issues and needs. They also made sure I understood what to expect, when to follow up, and left me with detailed written information and instructions.
Much more like a visit with a good familiar PCP than a quick triage. That did take time, but I feel it was time very well spent. A+
Very rude lady named Paula ext 8447. She was asking if I was sleeping when I couldn't come to the phone because I was with my kid. My mother answered and her English isn't perfect and she was disgustingly rude to her, we just moved here and wanted to sign up as new patients, we will find another place now.
These reviews are very sad. A lot of people dont understand what is and is not considered a "life threatening emergency", how things work in the ER, or how to triage. I suspect aside from that, the Pandemic drastically affected these experiences, as all hospitals and ERs are struggling. Look at reviews within 1 yr vs before Covid to get a better idea. Not saying it is perfect, but def far better than these recent reviews reflect. Although it is sad that people cannot get the fastest care possible, it is misleading based on perception vs reality of what the big picture actually is
This facility is incredibly unprofessional. The doctors don't return your calls and almost never pick up, and when you have an appointment, they're vague and hasty, with an incredibly obvious feeling that they're just trying to rush through their job. My Gastrointestinal doctor is so hasty that I feel that we almost accomplish nothing when I go in, and I feel that I'm in such a rush with him that I can't take the time to talk about anything. I have been cared for at Dartmouth in Lebanon, and Boston Children's, and the level of care is so vastly different that anyone to experience it would be shocked. My current doctors are some of the worst I've ever had, but I cannot continue to drive 2 hours a few times a month at times for treatments at Mass general.
Today, I got into my second altercation with the same Oncology receptionist, "Mickey", because on two occasions in a row now, due to circumstances completely out of my control, I could not make my appointment (covid scare, and today I am completely stuck in my driveway due to the weather). I made 3 phone calls, the first two of which were never returned. Both times, she has been unable to find me a single appointment in well over a month, completely skipping over my treatment. This builds antibodies, and my body becomes more resistant to my treatment and it will soon become fully ineffective. I am already on a reaction protocol due to this issue, and it's being completely trivialized. I did not call her a single name and told her I understand it's not fully in her power, but she proceeded to call me "entitled" for expecting an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, and on both occasions, has failed to provide me with a number for a higher-up when asked. She then hung up on me.
This facility always has me second guessing my quality of care, because I've seen examples of what good care looks like in highly renowned facilities. The equipment is worse, the frequency of vital checks are far fewer, the nurses on average seem to be in far worse moods and treat you with much less respect than the other facilities I've experienced. Keene is a quiet, nice area, and the work load is likely a lot lower than those who work in Boston, so I fail to see why the morale is so low, and why that rubs off onto patients who are always respectful and in a positive mood. I continue to get treatment here because it's the only feasible location for me, but I always feel like I have to second guess my doctors, and that they don't actually care about anything other than their paycheck.
There are individual nurses ,a couple of social workers, some of the docs I've dealt with as a patient or as an advocate for my father who are good-- in a couple of cases they have been excellent. BUt the overall system has failed on more than one occasion, even after the integration of electronic records between the hospital and the clinic. For example, how is it, that 72 hours into a hospital stay ( necessary but not emergent) that his DNR status was MISSED?! This happened 9 years ago with my mother as well, same hospital, and including Lebanon as well. I'm already taking my own business elsewhere as much as possible, and will continue to shift all my necessary care away from DHMC keene and Cheshire Medical Center. .
I've lived in Keene for a while now and I gotta say, this is the WORST hospital I've ever been to. If you can help it, never go there alone either. They'll take advantage.
I have had excellent care overall here. I feel like the doctors and nurses truly care and try to help you. I have several medical issues, I ve learned you need to be you own advocate and they listen and do what they can to help. I m happy with the care I receive here!
