Cameron Barry Review of Cheshire medical center/dartmo...

This facility is incredibly unprofessional. The doctors don't return your calls and almost never pick up, and when you have an appointment, they're vague and hasty, with an incredibly obvious feeling that they're just trying to rush through their job. My Gastrointestinal doctor is so hasty that I feel that we almost accomplish nothing when I go in, and I feel that I'm in such a rush with him that I can't take the time to talk about anything. I have been cared for at Dartmouth in Lebanon, and Boston Children's, and the level of care is so vastly different that anyone to experience it would be shocked. My current doctors are some of the worst I've ever had, but I cannot continue to drive 2 hours a few times a month at times for treatments at Mass general.
Today, I got into my second altercation with the same Oncology receptionist, "Mickey", because on two occasions in a row now, due to circumstances completely out of my control, I could not make my appointment (covid scare, and today I am completely stuck in my driveway due to the weather). I made 3 phone calls, the first two of which were never returned. Both times, she has been unable to find me a single appointment in well over a month, completely skipping over my treatment. This builds antibodies, and my body becomes more resistant to my treatment and it will soon become fully ineffective. I am already on a reaction protocol due to this issue, and it's being completely trivialized. I did not call her a single name and told her I understand it's not fully in her power, but she proceeded to call me "entitled" for expecting an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, and on both occasions, has failed to provide me with a number for a higher-up when asked. She then hung up on me.
This facility always has me second guessing my quality of care, because I've seen examples of what good care looks like in highly renowned facilities. The equipment is worse, the frequency of vital checks are far fewer, the nurses on average seem to be in far worse moods and treat you with much less respect than the other facilities I've experienced. Keene is a quiet, nice area, and the work load is likely a lot lower than those who work in Boston, so I fail to see why the morale is so low, and why that rubs off onto patients who are always respectful and in a positive mood. I continue to get treatment here because it's the only feasible location for me, but I always feel like I have to second guess my doctors, and that they don't actually care about anything other than their paycheck.
