We treated ourself to a deluxe room here for 3 days after hiking the Te Araroa trail (south island). The room we stayed in had recently been refurbished and had very tasteful decor. I understand the entire hotel is undergoing a big renovation as well. We found the value to be exceptional. The hotel is situated on 5 acres of beautifully kept gardens, including a rose garden you can lounge in. In addition (if gardens are your thing), a massive city park is right across the street. One thing that really stood was the room service. Only $1 more than priced at the restaurant! And you get it in your room! outstanding. Nice Pool too.

We organised a conference there for one week so got a good chance to be familiar with this famous hotel in Christchurch. I heard alot of about this hotel before and it's true. Its a very beautiful place to stay. Very Big and spacious. Rooms are very good and cleaned. Conference hall and dinner party hall were very good and attractive. Staff was very kind and supportive. We did not get any single problem throughout the conference. Food provided by hotel was delicious and unique. It was different for all days. Garden was well mentioned. The hotel is constructed on wood theme which makes it very beautiful inside and outside. Bar and restaurant is there which is famous in city. The location is also very good nearby Hagley Park. I totally recommend for any programme or for staying.

It looked dull when we arrived but people were very friendly and nothing was a bother. Food at lunches was great but dinner Saturday night was a nice meal but nothing outstanding. I feel they need to label some of the food as my granddaughter spied this looking desert, chocolate topping with the works, all of a sudden, lips were numb, and mouth was on fire.... she was munching on chilled pips not strawberry ones. Sorry my girls, but I couldn't stop laughing. Enjoy your stay there.

Had staff christmas do here in the great hall. Wonderful medieval style room - lots of character. Service was always friendly and helpful. Buffet was delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the Indian curry. Has parking lot and lots of free on street parking nearby.

The nature in hotel is just beautiful. It's like you are staying in a huge park. You can enjoy in the garden all day. I was having breakfast in the garden, enjoying beautiful view and sound of the birds. My room also had a beautiful view of the garden. This is not typicall hotel at all, it reminds me of the castles from the child books. I would say it's a little bit old fashion but in a good way. Just take your book and towel and enjoy garden and the pool all day!

Pleasantly surprised. When we arrived i was dubious: a little old and dilapidated exteriors. But the reception staff member who greeted us was friendly, professional and had the smarts to realise that my husband had booked the "wrong" style room... so he politely checked or requirements and made the change without fuss. Big tick thanks. Then, we got a bit lost finding the parking and our room but we managed (it's a bit confusing in layout) and based on the exterior my expectations were fairly ordinary. However, it's a brilliant room. Nice new bathroom and decent quality fittings. Very clean, spacious, wonderful king bed and lovely linen. And very quiet, our room was off the road... perfect.... love it. Even a wee balcony with opening door so don't have to rely on aircon ... aircon is always problematic esp overnight... so we just turn it off. Easy parking and a gorgeous maid who even wrote us a lovely personal note! Thanks chateaux on the park... Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

I like Chateau on the Park. This is a very good hotel with well trained staff and excellent facilities. Recently refurbished it looks great. An interesting building designed like a castle it has a layout that is inviting to explore. They provide a full hotel service and cater for the tourist and domestic markets. The Chateau has plenty of guest car parking and is nicely located close to the central city. I would stay here so if you need need a great hotel give them a try.

Disgusting.... mushrooms growing on the floor right next to our table due to a leaking window. This is a major health hazard and had clearly been ignored for a long time
Food was also below average for pricing.

Friendly check in made even better with a complimentary cookie (warm and delicious). We arrived early, despite which they were able to accommodate our room, which was tidy and had everything we expected. We were surprised to even have a bath too. Breakfast was included which we made the most of, a good selection and good quality. Overall Great facilities and a great location, we would use them again.

I was planning to make a reservation on January 21...

I was planning to make a reservation on January 21 and stay overnight, but my schedule changed suddenly and I entered Christchurch on the day before the 20th, so it was hard to find a hotel, so I just inquired at the hotel , I prepared a room.
The room and price were different in the room I booked on the 21st and the room on the 20th, but I was happy to pay the extra because I could stay in the same room if I paid the extra.
The elevator in front of the reception desk was very convenient in the room closest to the top floor.
Great satisfaction in a clean and clean room.
A king size bed with a large screen TV and tea bags, but tea and other amenities are also available, including a hairdryer, ironing board, ironing board and disposable slippers.
The large bathroom with a strong water pressure shower (this is important to the taste) and the size of the whole room is average (about 10 tatami?), But it is very satisfying.
It doesn't seem to be resident every day, but if you are lucky you will be able to speak Japanese-speaking staff (I can't go native to the school but I've reached enough) and each staff's response is very kind and polite.
The courtyard is also beautiful, the restaurant's food is uncomplicated, the bar also has drinks, and there are fountains and the design of the facilities is refined.
It happened that the wedding happened on this day and it was very lively.
There is a review that it is far from Christchurch city, but only on the opposite side across Hagley Park.
I walk for about 20 minutes, but I don't care at all if I think of a beautiful park as a tourist attraction, and on the contrary, it is immediately from Mona Bale, and the Christchurch Farmers Market held on Saturday is closer to this side.
I was very moved by the hotel where I had a wonderful experience.
When you come to Christchurch, we will use it again.
Thank you very much.

Had a meal here a few Saturdays ago, was impressed with the amount of food for the price. Had a main and a dessert for $26ish, and it was a generous portion size. Was very full afterwards. The restaurant filled up too so bookings might be necessary. Lovely interior with high ceilings and bright colours and beautiful flowers and plants surrounding the corridors. Would recommend this place for a good meal, and will be visiting again

This is a very old hotel. Renovated to be part of Hilton now. Staff are generally pleasant except one staff. Forgotten his name, he saw me standing in front of him. I was waiting for him to finished before I can ask for directions but yet , he turned away to serve a Caucasian at the side instead.
Rooms are incredibly clean. Breakfast are simple though. Stayed in many Hilton hotels but I realized their breakfast are all different . I think this is because they serve according to the local culture. Carpark comes separated . If your room is at the back, you have to exit from front lobby to the back carpark.

It's "ok" staff is nice but no one goes out of their way to do anything. The restaurant was pretty bad. I ordered tacos and since the cook was Indian they were masala flavored. I was not happy. The waitress told the head chef who basically did not care. I told her I was going to write a trip advisor review and she came back 5 minutes later offering to take the cost of my meal off the bill. It was conveniently located and a short walk through a gorgeous park put us in town. We used hotel points so our stay was free, definitely would not pay to stay there again
