I have had horrible experiences with fsa reimburse...

I have had horrible experiences with fsa reimbursement with Chard Snyder. They deny claims before they even read the documents. I include 2 types of documents signed by a doctor and they tell me my claim is not medically necessary...Duh???

After waiting nearly two weeks and four phone call...

After waiting nearly two weeks and four phone calls, I have not received payment for a claim that was approved nearly two weeks ago. I am still waiting. I highly recommend employers stay aware from this vendor for their HSA/FSA needs.

I don't have enough bad things to say about this shithole. 13 months after I paid something I'm told I need to recertify it because they lost whatever and so and so doesn't work for them anymore. So convenient.. I will never get another benny card because of these criminals. 0 stars.

This company always denies your claims first - oft...

This company always denies your claims first - often for no legitimate reason - so that you have to send in more paperwork. I ve had to use them for two different companies and they ve operated the same way with both companies. My health reimbursements and childcare get denied and I have to call and complain and they admit they don t know why they were denied. If you have to use them at your company, be prepared to not get reimbursed with multiple calls and emails.

NEVER OPEN WHEN YOU NEED THEM. I CANT SPEND MY DAYS CALLING CS. NEVER GET THE SAME ANSWER. NOOOOOO ONE GIVES A FLIP ABOUT FIXING OR HELPING THE CUSTOMER. PAT ANSWER ALL THE TIME IS "THATS WHAT THE IRS SAYS" THERE IS NO NEGATIVE STARS SO ONE IS THE LOWEST.

Upon leaving a previous position, all $400 I had saved in my transit-spending-account was forfeited. Do not use these services, they will take your money. I sure hope someone at Chard Snyder purchased something nice with my $400.

I don't think you can leave 0 stars so I will give them 1. Spouse's employer administers health benefits through them. Her job was eliminated and we elected COBRA coverage. Took more than 2 weeks to get coverage activated after they received our payment. Also had staff tell us things that were untrue and not in accord with Department of Labor laws around COBRA. Avoid this company at all costs. Wish we had pursued other health care alternatives.

After withdrawing my parent's money for a policy that had been canceled and refusing to refund it, they sent her a fake check when they were told they had to issue a refund. They refused to direct deposit the money for their mistake. Do not do business with this company.

Look elsewhere for a company to handle your FSA. They require verification of nearly every medical transaction. I understand that it is MY money that I have put in there and it is their job to make sure I use it for qualifying services. However, it is not like I m going to the the Hospital Gift Shop and buying a 2 lb package of gummy worms...it is nearly every medical transaction we make. What a pain. We didn t put that much in our FSA and after part of it went unused last year, we have decided that we just aren t going to take advantage of the FSA due to the extra hassle of dealing with this company.

Sadly, it requires that I leave a 1 star rating - it should be 0 stars.

If you are an employer considering this company as...

If you are an employer considering this company as part of your employees health insurance plan, please find a different company. They waste people's time on a regularly basis by denying claims and requiring more documentation. I ran into this with twice a week allergy shots two years ago. They wanted an itemized list of all of my shots, for each bill. I moved over to a High Deductible plan for two years and no problems with my Health Savings Account. Switched back this year to a PPO with a Flexible Spending Account and I'm back to being denied. They never sent me an updated card so I can't use a card when I pay. I just requested a card again (second time). They denied a claim because they want a details regarding the service. They received the Dr.'s bill indicating I was in the hospital and refunded my hospital copay but denies the Dr.'s charge. No letter or communication indicating a service was denied. I was just supposed to wander on their site again to see if there was a problem with a reimbursement.

if there were a zero rating that is what we would give. We never received cobra paperwork in the mail from Chard Snyder; we ended up doing it on line. Payment was taken to their office before the due date. We found out it had not been processed yet as they had a lot of checks...missed taking critical meds as we couldn't order them. As far as Chard Snyder is concerned, switching to cobra takes 14 days and we have to live with it. They told us to just pay the $5000.00 for the meds and we could likely have it reimbursed. We were also told they would let us know when it was reinstated, still haven't heard from them but went ahead and called the Insurance company myself and found out it was active again. Let's see if they ever call or email. I would NEVER use this company as a resource for insurance.
UPDATE: A surgery was now cancelled because of the Lapse in coverage that had been paid but they didn't process (Quote "because they get a lot of checks")

We have a flex spending account with them. They make it IMPOSSIBLE to use it. The documentation required for each transaction is lengthy and they suspend your account if you don't provide it to them. So then they have your money that you can't use. I would not recommend an employer using them. I have dealt with a number of other companies that are much more user friendly. This one is the worst.

Our interaction with the third party insurance man...

Our interaction with the third party insurance managment company, Chard-Snyder

10/1/2015- were told Chard-Snyder had not been taking funds for health insurance and they wanted the $5,000 in full. Had to pay in full to continue insurance.

April 2018- Chard-Snyder didn t activate our Benny card, even though we put funds towards it; there was $160 worth of fees never returned to us, that we Expensed out of pocket. STILL OWED TO US.

June 19, 2018- Went on cobra. Was told just had to pay $660.72 to keep coverage current and sign an 18 month contract for insurance through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Set up auto withdrawal for the 25th of each month (in order to have funds in by 1st of every month). Went to doctor and insurance was on Suspension. Called Chard-Snyder and they had made a mistake on amounts. Had to pay $3303.76 to re-activate insurance. Then was put on reinstatement which takes 10-15 business days. They did back pay that doctor visit. NO FUNDS OWED FOR THIS

10/25/2018-Paid for November coverage in the amount of $1651.88

10/26/2018-Letter Received that we had to pay a $400 increase to keep insurance going starting December 1, 2018.

10/26/2018- Emailed to cancel insurance and be effective 12/1/2018

11/2/2018 -Letter received that we had insurance through November and would no longer have insurance as of 12/1/2018

11/15/2018- Our son went into doctor and insurance was denied due to cancellation. Paid doctor cash for visit. ON A BILLING PLAN TO PAY THIS IN FULL OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET.

Called Chard-Snyder left message for manager. Never received return phone call.

11/20/2018- Went to fill prescription. Insurance still denied for cancelation. Paid cash for prescription. PAID OUT OF OWN POCKET

11/20/2018- Called Chard Snyder and they said they had fixed it that there was nothing they could do on their end. Called Blue Cross they stated we did not have insurance. Emailed Chard-Snyder asking for refund of $1651.88 as it was now end of month and no insurance coverage nor had the third party fixed their mistake.

11/21/2018-Recieved letter from Blue Cross of cancelation as of 10/31/2018

11/26/2018-Made our bank aware of this transaction. They needed police report. Contacted our local police.

11/30/2018- Called Chard-Snyder and was told they fixed it. Called Anthem Blue Cross and they said Chard-Synder told them to activate insurance 12/01/2018 then cancel it same day; was also told we did NOT have insruance coverage for the month of Novemeber. Called Chard-Snyder to request refund again. Chard-Snyder refused even though they never provided service for the funds they took out of our bank.

Requesting help in obtaining our funds paid for a service never provided in the amount of $1651.88. We would like to press charges against this company so they are forced to do what is right and just.

U.S. Bank has also been notified with above information and is also attempting to obtain our funds back from Chard-Snyder, but has been unsuccessful in getting our funds returned to us.

12/1/2018-told our insurance was reinstated then canceled.

12/13/2018- told our insurance was current for the month of December. Which goes against the contract we had. We are still forced to pay cash for doctor visits in November and now paying for two insurances for this month; one of which we canceled and have the letter from Chard stating our insurance coverage would not be active as of 12/1/2018.

Chard has directly gone against our wishes with our money and deceitfully did what they wanted with our money instead of refunded as requested.

We not only want our money back, but what others to know not to use this company. Especially businesses as they do not work for your employees.

When I enrolled in Chard Snyder's limited FSA program through my firm, I never imagine the grieve and heartache I would have to go through to spend money for dental expenses I am paying for. Chard Snyder nor its personnel understand the meaning of customer service. In August 2016, I started an orthodontic treatment program that would take 24 months to complete. I paid an initial deposit with my limited FSA Benny card and provided a receipt to Chard for the expense. Later after my consultation a contract with my orthodontist was drawn up and the first lump sum payment for that contract again paid with my limited FSA through Chard. Every time I have had to make a payment using there server (again my money) I had to go through a lot of red-tape and am hounded for receipts despite the fact having provided them with a contract. You'd think after providing the contract they would code there system so that they knew future payments were made towards that contract. No of course not, harassing the customer seems to be there goal and they have no concept of respect and providing the best customer service. There goal is to question everything and despite having documentation in front of there faces seem to be completely incapable of understanding basic finance. Not only have the payments been made to the exact amount of my contract they refuse to believe that just maybe if someone is under orthodontic care that payments would be made over the term of the treatment. Instead, I'm put through a lot of unnecessary steps to prove to them even though a contract has already been provided they simply are unwilling to listen or understand. I even spoke with Chad Ward the manager of the group and he simply again is incapable of understanding. I'm working with my orthodontist to provide a statement that I made still under his care and the payments made were for my orthodontic treatment plan. If you have the option through your employer to use Chard Snyder avoid them at all costs unless you want to be put under undue stressful and grief. Poor, combative, non-customer service, its clear they do not understand the customer is always right!

Wish I could give them zero not sure why company uses them as administrators I thought Aetna was bad but they are worse because of horrible service this year I choose not to put my money ina flex pay account .cant wait till they go away

The IRS requirements keeps getting more strict but Chard Snyder answers my questions and helps me get the documentation to them so I can use my benefits. Thanks to the customer service folks when I call. They always try to help me as much as possible.

A mere few years ago, you'd submit a claim and it went through with NO problem and you were reimbursed readily. During that time, I would give Chard Snyder 5 stars! Now, I'd say within the last two years, you submit a claim. You are LUCKY if you get notification it was denied. For me, MORE THAN ONCE you just get the feeling when you haven't received your payment and you've had no notification that you better call them. You call them and THEN they confirm it was denied, even though you have been reimbursed for the SAME services prior AND you submitted the Medical Necessity Form and the EXACT SAME paperwork you submitted years prior. R I D I C U L O U S.

Google please allow negative stars..
1st I haven't received my card..
When I called to see why it's almost June and i have no card, they say oops we mailed it to the wrong address.
So I ask where is it? They didn't know.
So I ask why haven't they tried to contact me or my employer. They instantly blamed my job for the wrong address(Which was a lie)
Then I was told they have a process for this situation. Guess I would have got the card next year..
I'm already asking for this company to not have our accounts anymore

Chard Snyder is Horrible! After using my Chard Snyder card to pay for a medical bill that was dated 9/20/19. They declined the payment and told me I now owe them the $469.00. Because the bill was for last year not this year. Really it s my money and should be able to use it for a medical bill since I use the same card to pay my copay for this too. Funny how I ve done this year after year. They are unbelievable.
