Every university has its good and bad aspects unfortunately SSUET has more negative aspects but now its progressing in right direction under the new mangement and IN-SHA-ALLAH soon there will be more good reasons to study here and will be in top university ranking

An average university for an average student, help to build the strength of a student.

It is seen that some students are involved in politics inside University. They disturb the academic
environment of the university and our studies. I request the chancellor of SSUET UNVIERSITY DR. Mohammad Adil Usman to ban all political activities inside universities. This severly damages the reputation of University and students alike.

only university where if u want to learn something u can learn and if u want just degree u can also got that, with out any problem :)

I am sharing my experience, because I don't want other people to go through the same thing we did.

Make sure you are in the Civil engineering department or electronic engineering department or Telecommunication engineering. Do NOT come to Sirsyed university for the standard bullshit degree in Computer science or bio medical engineering or even better.
Sir syed is great for a lot of degree programs, but they have a lot of administration problems.

1. No sanitation, dirty bathrooms, leaking sink.
2. old outdated water filter system, unsafe water lack of basic sanitation. Students are consuming bacteria infested water.
2. Some classes not airconditioned, they get overheated and students and teacher get bathed in sweats, its difficult breathing, some classrooms have aircondition but 20 years old airconditioning system is used.
3. Limited labs, no place to practice! you won't get a lab where you can practice. No extra lab. There are limited labs and always reserved for classes.
4. so much disturbance! no peaceful environment for study!
5. No room to sit and study in peace. Libraby is small like a box and most times of the day its closedl. No place to sit and study at university.
6. Scary environment - live in fear.
7. 5000 students enrolled but no gym, no place for physical activity.
8. no field trips.
9. no proper canteen
10. tution fee has doubled - sky rocking
11. limited resoruces
12. no wifi
13. old style classrooms
14. The university is crowded with not enough resources for everyone even though we are paying good money.
15. Old faulty projectors, the university is not willing to spend a penny on buying new projectors upon many requests, still we are using those old garbages.
16. no playing field
17. And yes! Brace yourself for water shortage.There will be times where there will be no water in bathrooms.
18. Also don't expect a great library bursting with a selection of materials. Sir syed library is like a bird's nest. not enough for 5000 students. Its library is like a small box with nothing in it.

The entire management is at the boiling point and careless.

Don't be blinded by their promises of a high quality education and scholarships that they provide, as they do not practice what they preach.

Computer science department is worst of all. Sir syed does not have enough building BSCS students once enrolled are thrown into aligarh. horibble place, Aligarh is a third class institute full of goons it offers low cost degree programs. Sir ssyed mergance with aligarh is unacceptable. Every student that is enrolled in sirsyed BSCS department have to study in Aligarh. New building are under construction in sir syed but the administration don't feel the need to shift BSCS department back into sirsyed. they just want to make money so they are introducing a new degree programs in the unniversity. It's all about the money here, once you get past that you can be herded like sheep through your education.

APMSO (MQM) students forced other students of SIr syed university into a political rally infront of Gublee gate karachi university.

In sir syed university today as APMSO activists, student wing of MQM entered classrooms during lecture disrupting classes and asked students to join rally. The APMSO workers disrupted classes and pulled all students out of their departments.The university was immediately closed at 11 am (which normally closes at 5pm). Lectures were shut the entire day.
Students were forcefully pulled out of lectures to protest and rally for a cause they knew nothing about.
No student was allowed to leave university as the gates of the university closed and APMSO workers were monitoring all gates making sure no student leaves the university. Their workers were present. They had arranged local buses and they were parked inside the university campus. The university lecturers management saw everything that was happening in the university but neither dared to raised a voice. APMSO workers had threatened students not to leave or escape, and no one dared to, fearing the consequences. Nobody was willing to go, some students tried to cross the gate and escape when the buses were passing through the gate but they were caught and taken to APMSO-UNIT which is inside the university campus, one could hear them screaming. Students were threatened with rally time if they try to leave, the students were huddled up into buses because they weren't enough buses some students were roof-riding and taken to join the rally on each bus there were APMSO workers monitoring students not to escape as they arrived at silver jublee gate of karachi university. they were even more APMSO workers, no one could escape and no one dared to. The students were forced to stand in the scorching sun and listen to whatever they say, some students approached rally organizers for permission to leave but all requests have been denied. They distributed banners and photos and asked students to hold them, again no way to deny. Unfortunately in their presence no one dare to talk nor they could question as they were APMSO goons around them.
I request university authorities to file a report and take appropriate step against those who force students into participating into political rallies or activities. The students come to study not to be involved in political activities risking their precious lives in danger. Anything could happen at yesterday's scene, a bomb could go off, there could be target killing because everyday there are clashes between MQM and other political parties. Why life of other students were in danger due to criminal actions of one party? Why is MQM putting lives of other innocent students in danger for their own cause. No political party should be allowed to use other students by force to fulfill their own evil demands.

I done my Engineering in Electronics from this university 2003-2007. It is one of the best Engineering universities of Pakistan having highly qualified Staff and Modern Labs.

I'm into my 2nd semester computer science at Sir Syed University! I'm disappointed with the quality of education... !!! Computer Science teachers are unprofessional! Now i think that SSUET is a waste of my money :( ! It is expensive but it does not worth it, not that many events for the students, teachers are not professional at teaching.

Management is working hard to make it top most engineering university in Pakistan....

Great university to study, i love the teaching environment.
The university should pay a little more attention to Computer Science department. It was the computer science depart. students who secured Championship trophy with most number of wins in Procom17 competitions.

Very good university for better future . Teachers are very cooperative

Campus was massive but the location is not so good It is not situated on the main road so it will be very difficult to find the location without the gps navigation however the faculty of the university is the same as the main campus.

Average standard of teaching.. mostly students have to do themselves. Some lecturars are really sincere but not all. Over all its satisfactory.

The best thing is its recognized by PEC and makes you an Engineer. Rest all is mediocre. Poorest management I have ever seen of an institution of this calibre. Heard the new VC is trying to sort things out. Lets wish him luck.

I cant sy about other programs but i can say that its civi engineering departmnt is better than NED.

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology is based on the heritage of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and of the Aligarh Movement. An education and social reformer, Sir Syed emerged on the scene in the sub-continent towards the middle of the 19th century. In the spirit of the Aligarh Movement, AMUOBA (Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association) focused attention on furthering education in Pakistan, especially science and technology. An achievement in this field has been the establishment of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET).

SSUET came into being on 8 October 1993, and its Charter formalities were completed by an Act passed by the Sindh Assembly on 17 September 1995. Founder of this University is Z.A.Nizami.

Worst management ... some good teachers. ..lots of improvement required. ...zero facilities. ...or in other words it's a Peela School!

with most of the reviews written about SSUET i am highly disappointed, it is not the way you regard your institution who make you eligible to compete in modern world, if you are jobless it is nothing to do with SSUET you are not capable of having a job. it can't be your worst decision as well because if you had the luxury of having good result in HSC you wold not be here. So when you are rejected and thrown out by every university in Karachi then you join SSUET and yet you became an Engineer. It is an institute which takes B graders and even less percentage students and raise them to be a good Engineer. As a passout from SSUET i am proud and feel satisfied with my institutions. it all reflects in my current status. never curse your institute as it has given you the name and future many times greater than your ability.

Think twice

Don't waste your time applying to Sir Syed University. They appear like a good school on papers, but after spending 1 years there, I came to the realization that Sir Syed Uni only cares about your Paisas.

when you ask teachers and If you ever have a serious problem, they'll turn their back on you.

In addition, Block 5, where sir syed University is located, is really unsafe. I know FOUR people at Sir syed who got robbed, and two of them were robbed at GUNPOINT infront of university at presence of University chokidars (robbed by APMSO students) No one dares to complain. Those who do are threatened, harassed!

I wish I had realized it sooner, I urge you to think twice before applying to Sir Syed.

Best educational degrees they are offering. But they should focus to reduce tuition fee as it is not affordable for poor students.

Very poor management. There is no place to study, can't even sit in the soo called library. Air conditioners are not working in any class of CE department. Fees is increasing day by day and we are not getting any facility. DISSAPPOINTED.
