Managed to get into part of the centre for free using my student card. Quirky place with interesting architecture and full of modern art. There is also a balcony bit where you can get good views. We didnt pay to get into the other exhibits but the bit we did see was enough for 1-2 hours

This art museum often gets overlooked in Paris because of the other great museums in the city such as the Louvre and Orsay but it shouldn't. It is definetly world-class and the art inside is very interesting. Inside you will find many works from many well known artists and the art is spread out very well so you are never really feeling like it's too crowded. The museum itself is designed to be a work of art too. From the outside, you can see all of the plumbing, cabling, escalators, and fittings which is odd but it works in a strange way. The admission charge is not a lot so definetly check-it out if you like art and have some time in Paris.

I really liked the place and also the exhibits that were there at that time. Tadao Ando the architect on one side and cubism on the other.
We could get home easily even if we had not bought our tickets in advance.
About 40 minutes of queue to access the ticket office.

Art afficionados can spend days in this museum. Students have a great fortune in the form of a vast library to which they have free access. The design of the museum is functionally efficient. A good visit to an integral part of Paris.

Huge modern art complex with many options to enjoy from artwork to a library, and top floor views across Paris. The entry gallery is free for all to visit, you need a ticket or museum pass to visit the galleries on floors 4 & 5, and extra admission to visit special showings on floor 6.

Architecture - the body of the building is very interesting, but the queue for d uuuuga tickets - effectively scares to see the exhibits at the Museum of Art. Around dozens of pubs, bistros and restaurants.

Best of the Paris museums.

Best of the Paris museums.
There are many works of Kandinsky. Kandinsky fans should definitely go there.
You can see Kandinsky's work as it is without glass.
Chagall's Eiffel Tower bride is also great.
Lots of Joan Maze works.
The tour line is a little bad, but it is worth seeing.

A must in Paris, France and the world because it is certainly the richest museum, the most accomplished in its category.
Professional, friendly and efficient staff in the locker room, reception is irregular, do not disturb when you are on the smartphone.

Probably the only building in this way built in this way. All of his pipes, technical installations and communication routes landed outside the building. Electrical installation is yellow, ventilation is blue, the water and sewage network is green. Elevators and escalators are marked in red.
In such an avant-garde building there is one of the richest collections of modern art in the world, temporary exhibitions and a multimedia library (it is a free public library of the city).
The layout of the center: the underground - the zone of performances and conference rooms, ground floor - bookshop and information point, mezzanine - Industrial Design Center, 1st - library, cinema, floors 4-5 - Museum of Contemporary Art, floor 6 - temporary exhibitions (Paris Museum Pass).
Outside, Igor Stravinsky Square is a very fun and funny fountain of his name.

One of the most beautiful places to get lost in Paris. Contemporary art and more. In order to avoid queues at the entrance, it is useful to buy the online entrance ticket directly on their website. Free cloakroom. Spectacular view of Paris from the rooftop terrace.

Amazing museum that you could go to 3 days or more straight just to put your eyes on everything there. From the upper levels you can see all around Paris, and the museum itself, designed by Renzo Piano , is a marvel in it's own right

Magnificent structure made with great technique and harmony. Splendid works set up in an excellent way to enhance their beauty. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. The bathrooms are very clean and also well made.
It is worth visiting the Pompidou, a culture of harmony and beauty, a deep breath for those who love art, but above all the emotions it offers.

Only 2 of 6 floors were accessible for exhibitions. The exhibitions were okay but no comparison with for example the Louvre where you get awesome value for your money. The sight on the 6th floor is nice though.

Modern art is very "love it or hate it" - but personally, I rather enjoyed the majority of displays here. Level 5 and 4 are where it's all at, so once you've bought your ticket in the foyer and headed through the ticket gates at the top of the escalator, take the many escalators right to level 6 at the top & check out the view & take a few photos, then head back down one level and start at level 5 and work your way down to 4. Level 5 is mostly painting, whereas level 4 is mostly other forms of artwork including sound & vision displays, as well as sculptures and so forth. Some of the pieces are a little "Really? This is art meant to be art?!" - but others are certainly very interesting to look at. I personally loved it here (level 4 in particular) and thought it was worth the entrance fee of 14 Euros (at the time of writing). We spent a good 2 or so hours here and enjoyed it!

Always worth a visit. An online booking in advance is highly recommended - this saves you having to wait a long time.
We really enjoyed the exhibitions and the view over Paris. We'll be back again to see this great museum with modern art.

Paris's other iconic building

Paris's other iconic building

Its inside out, designed by Renzo Piano, structure, houses a restaurant bar at the top, large contemporary art museum (middle floors), cinema, shops and a library.

The art museum is world class, up there with London's Tate Modern and New York's MoMA. It's large galleries are flexible for immersive exhibitions and there's plenty of space to share with other visitors.

Unmissable for modern art fans and a decent gift shop at the end.

Much has been said about the spectacular building and the rich gallery, but 3 stars for the extremely uptight staff:
-queued for 10 min to get my coat back to be told this was the wrong line. Mind you there is one desk and three people who all do the same job- take and give coats. Having stood in the wrong line disqualified me from getting my coat back.
- shoulder bags allowed, hand bags allowed, backpacks not.
- kids gallery has a mini metropolis built. Different level building with solid white tops, is made for climbing them. But, well that was not allowed either, just watching.
Finally cafe was expensive, even for a museum setting.

My only question is why. The building stands out like a sore thumb on the Paris skyline. The escelators are loud and old. The tube to the top of the building is messy and way too warm. The shops are too expensive. The art, oh god the art, is horrible.
I am not gonna lie, I enjoyed a few peices, but for the most part the pieces were bland, confusing and a waste of time, and waste of space. Me and the 4 others I went around with were just LAUGHING at how TERRIBLE this place is!
Overall, don't bother coming here unless you have money and time to waste on hours of boredom. Would recommend the Louvre as a better gallery in the area, at least that place has art that actually makes sense.

Think big, even the contemporary art is not always thinking healthy, or visionary, or esthetical, or useful for the mind, spirit or soul. But the place is wonderful and every moment there puts you to think!!!

The permanent collection here is extremely engaging and thought provoking covering many different aspects of art, design and architecture from years gone by and modern times. Always on the list of places to visit when in Paris.

Really recommended center to visit.

Really recommended center to visit.
I suggest to make the ticket only for the museum (last two floors of the center + terraces) in case you are under 26 years, because it is free, while for all exihibitions comes 14 (adults and boys).
The last two floors of the museum turn quite quickly, with works by artists such as Picasso, Kandisky, Matisse and finally the exit on the terraces, from which you have a beautiful view over the rooftops of Paris.
A treat, visit the center in the late afternoon and go up to the terrace at sunset for spectacular photos.
