Superb ode to contemporary art, ideal for a refreshing outing alone or with friends. I advise ! For my part, I saw the exhibition on Vasarely and wow, I came out blown away.
Love it. Great for expositions and on the top floor a nice view of the city. Also the surrounding is very cool
I love this center of contemporary art and have been going for a long time but there an unannounced strike knowing that I come from far, not cool at all! But maybe discontent is the desired effect, so it's won.
Nice displays of contemporary French Art work. The stories of different artists and dealers in historic Paris are very interesting.
Wonderful place free for all should have more of those center to study or get access to any kind of knowledge...
Go there if you like modern and contemporary art. The galleries are huge. The building is stunning.
Very lively square, interesting neighborhood for great walks
See in one place to Dali, Picasso, Matta, Dix, Manet, Monet and many other great is to be all day, the only bad thing about this cultural center, is that it is very, very large to travel in a single day
Great place, but you should plan with a whole day there, if you want to see everything.
Excellent place of discovery of modern art. The current exhibition is dedicated to Vasarely. The Pompidou Center offers us a magnificent retrospective. After the visit you can admire the roofs of the capital and refresh yourself in the pretty tea room where you will be warmly welcomed by pleasant staff. Only downside: the music broadcast in the compound of the tea room is really too noisy.
Beautiful place always beautiful exhibitions with 1 magnificent view of Paris
I really like this place for the atmosphere, for modern art and interest exhibitions.
The best art museum in Paris that takes you on a journey through art history in a cohesive way. Excellent lighting.
Beautiful place! With a beautiful view of Paris (and the Eiffel Tower) above
One of the coolest places in Paris. Very underrated
Pretty extensive collection of both contemporary and modern art. I really enjoyed the modern art (5th) floor. They also always have really good special exhibitions. The view from the top is also very nice
The museum is under construction, I saw the exhibition in good conditions. Expo Christian Boltanski is very creative, surprising and very funny.
A strange one. A 1970s futurist structure in the heart of Old paris. Once inside lots of space and good view from the roof. Worthwhile to see if it is raining.
Fabulous place, with amazing drawers .... The artistic programming is a little irregular since already quite a few years, exposures to choose better, not taking into account only the little friends ....
It took a few hot escalators to get to the museum. Unfortunately art isn't my thing, curiosity got the better of me and while some pieces were intriguing, others left me bored. If you like modern art, check it out.
There is an app to download in the app store that acts as an audio guide for the regular exhibits.
Extraordinary Center Pompidou "as usual". Expo Vasarely at the top. I recommend
A must-see in Paris, especially for the views from the top level. The museum itself focuses on modern and contemporary artists. The gift shop and restaurant are quite good too. Try to go at sunset if you really want to enjoy the views.
CENTRO GEORGES POMPIDOU
The beautiful complex honors the President of France, (1969 /! 974) George Pompidou, who commissioned its construction, beginning in 1971. Famous architects were part of this great work, in various architectural styles, highlighting postmodern architecture. It houses an underground mall connected to the subway, the National Museum of Modern Art, the Public Information Library, Music Center, and other cultural sectors.
Its outside area also applauds postmodernity in the arts!
Very big bibliotec although you cannot rent books. Nice area to study with WiFi
The new temporary public entrance during refurbishment works is totally impractical. You can seriously twist an ankle or fall flat on the ground if you're not watching for the protruding feet of the cattle barriers along the way. It's a real pain to get to the entrance.
Besides from the aforementioned serious security issue, the museum in itself is great like list other reviews already pointed out.
Best place for modern Art in France ! With an incredible disruptive building !
i really recommend a visit because apart from a great selection of modern and contemporary art (permanent exhibition) one also gets an excellent view all over paris. definitely recommend taking the escalator upstairs. also free entry to the permanent exhibtion for all european citizens 18-25!
Too bad how to manage tickets for the Bacon exhibition. Many people inside, even taking the online ticket (mandatory). Impossible to see the exhibition in a pleasant and calm way.
Awesome place. Here you can easily spend the whole day admiring the work of modern artists, who sometimes just blows their heads and flips everything inside. Before the visit, you should eat, because you will not leave the museum soon :) from the upper floors there is a beautiful view of Paris. And the building itself looks very cool and bright
Excellent. Unmissable If you go to Paris do not forget to go museum
Spent over 3 hours at the recent exhibition of cubism work and related material. A brilliant show although you need stamina since there are very few places in this large venue where you can relax and sit down.
Top three of contemporary art museums in the world (as far as I have seen)
Loved the art but the people guarding museum seem not to care about visitors.
Fun building to hang out in, interesting exhibits, great views of Paris
Had the Paris Museum pass so we decided to check it out. The building was pretty interesting and modern compared to other museums we went to. A lot of abstract and modern art. I'm more into traditional art but it was still an interesting stop to experience.
Great for modern art lovers
There several floors here and the architecture is unique. The tickets are sold on the first floor and there are cloakrooms where you can leave your personal belongings there.
First start from the top floor where you have spectacular view of the Eifle Tower .
The history of collections:
Nice museum of modern arts. The only complain is the Gallery actually close at 9pm instead of 11pm as what museum does. So I didn't get to see the last gallery.
Among the best museum of the world for a reason. The permanent collection is huge, as well as the temporary exhibitions. The view is stunning, they have a large library and excellent bookstores... A must.
Very well organized museum with works of universal importance.
Enjoy exceptional exhibitions
Despite the crowd that can sometimes be important a visit to this museum is absolutely recommended to anyone who does not know it.
As much for the infrastructure of it as for permanent exhibitions or not.
I was there for Francis Bacon, I was unfortunately a little disappointed with the guide that we can have by connecting to the site of the Pompidou Museum.
A text of austerity is particularly strong and not available to all.
temporary and permanent exhibitions have found both at the Center Pompidou. D after me it is also one of the best views of Paris (Roofs of Paris, unique view of the main monuments, neither too high nor too low). The bar on the top floor in good weather is a marvel.
A contemporary museum that is interesting both for its exterior architecture and for the works exhibited there. The temporary exhibitions are often changed and this really brings a delectable refreshment.
Superb unusual place whose reputation is second to none, with its coffee (too expensive) rooftop terrace and beautiful exhibitions reflected and accomplished incredible exhibition Vasarely at the moment!
Only two plans are free. Very beautiful and with a view not to be missed
Always visits to the Centre Pompidou, and on a cool rainy day crowds were sparse and able to stroll and enjoy the galleries, also great finds in the bookstore. Could have spent at least a few days perusing all there is to see and experience.
Excellent stop to visit in Paris, especially if you want to appreciate a mix of breathtaking views, relaxation and modern art! The ticket price is 14.
The museum is located a few steps from the Notre Dame de Paris cathedral. It has excellent times, so during the early afternoon you can visit Notre Dame and afterwards you can visit the modern museum, since. Closes at 9pm.
This building is very unusual and has a very unusual industrial wind. I think that there will be high expectations at the construction site, but I have done a hand on the escalator and found that the space inside is not designed well. The works on display are also very bad. I think I will come here. The building is free from the works of the works.
I like this place but I always come out a little disappointed with the exhibitions. Each time I think I see the exhibition of the century because it is Beaubourg, and not.
I discovered a lot of interesting things especially for the works of La Fontaine and beautiful paintings by Picasso and many other artists ... for contemporary art, there was good but also bad taste as the party or saw a guy flogging himself and being tortured while filming himself. Frankly morbid as exposure
Interesting project, beautiful collection of paintings and other artworks.
An architectural adventure, very fancy place, also a huge public library. Don t be surprised; there is a security check at the entrances. Librarians are speaking foreign languages, they can help you out if needed. You can have really fast internet connection here. There is a movie theater inside, also exhibitions, and gift shops. For the exhibitions you can buy tickets, but if just would like to see the city from the rooftop and have a romantic coffee, you can buy a view-only ticket for 5 (2019.03.).
Very nice and special, even for those who do not like modern art, it's better to take a ride
A nice place to enjoy modern and contemporany art! It didn't left me indifferent and I enjoyed that!
Nice to visit, beautiful view and often beautiful exhibitions
The art were good, some of the service staff were not. Went through the security check, scanned the tickets, going through the gate. One lady stopped me, pointed at my bag, yelled at bag, cloakroom fine, where at? Down, left! Still yelling. Ok I come back to upstairs, going through the gate again. Hey!! No water!!
I was like ??? Why didn t you tell me earlier? I was holding it for the whole time
No water!!
Ok.. where s the bin, the nearest bin I saw was downstairs.
Then she became quiet
I asked again
Nothing
Ok.. then I went downstairs to get rid of the water.
Then went through the gate.
There s a bin right behind her. Was blocked by her seats so I couldn t see it. But it wasn t hard to let me know, I suppose? I don t wanna think the worst of people, so maybe it s the language issue? Or perhaps she s just old that couldn t not hear me.
