One of the best museums in Paris for modern contemporary art. While some hate it's architecture I personally like it very much since it leaves more space inside for the actual museum.
After visiting other comparable museums in other countries, this is still the one that mixes the best selection of artists and styles in it's "permanent" exhibition.
Temporary exhibition are also very often amazing.
The view of Paris from the top floor is a must see.
Umm....if you've nothing to do, this can be a nice timepass.
Spectacular building, nice to visit. You can visit just the building if you like for a reduced fee, without access to the expositions.
One of the best contemporary museums available today. A true must place to visit even for couple of hours.
It will be fun to think about it a lot. There are a lot of works that are unfamiliar but wit. If you're lucky, you might meet someone who explains this to your neighbors in English. Just pass by, stand in the background, and listen to them once .. ..... ^-^ ;;;
To enter the museum you have to be patient, but it's worth seeing famous artists. The exhibition was prepared very well. Also, the museum service is helpful. Admission to the age of 26 for free
Wonderful museum with great permanent collection of Modern art. Always has incredible special exhibitions. This is a must visit for the art, the views from the top and the architecture of the building.
Very large library. You can find books in all areas. But I'm not a fan of external architecture
Great bookstore and selection of films always updated according to the artistic vanguard.
Get your museum pass here for your first visit Paris , well worth it.
I really enjoyed my visit here - if you like modern or contemporary art plan to spend a day here. There are bathrooms and WiFi.
Somewhat disappointed in this Renzo Piano architecture where after paying admissions, you're subjected to freezing cold conditions between the levels through the escalators. Keep your coat! Nonetheless, it deserves a 5-star because of the art within. I mean: Spectacular. The number of Picasso pieces is not something I'm used to seeing in the U.S. And don't forget to appreciate Kadinsky's paintings, a man inspired by the art of musical composition. They have so many interesting modern and contemporary art pieces - from Duchamp's work to Ellsworth Kelly... But there is an absolute must if one is to fully understand all of the detail and life that went into each piece - you must sign up for the guided tour. You can purchase the ticket online, which we did, but found that not many people signed up for it, and many purchased it on the day of their visit. And when I say guided tour, I mean the docent at the museum, not through Trip Advisor. Our docent was an expert at all the history and interpretation related to each art piece. We appreciated all that we learned about Matisse and his evolving methods and techniques for painting. A docent (guide) is an absolute necessity to enjoying your experience there. I read in one of these reviews that there's nothing to see but the building itself. That is an absurd statement. Sign up for a guide, and get blown away with history, context, beauty, and innovation that literally abounds on every wall of this museum.
Really interesting to discover modern and contemporary art
Looked awesome. Couldn't go inside. Wife was in a mood :(
Architectural icon. Great bar/restaurant at top with view of Paris. But exhibitions and organisation are so-so
Cool building. There is a public library on the other side that's open to everyone. There were plenty of desks and seats over three floors. Very nice and quiet place to study or work. Exciting it seems you must go out the same exit as the museum which is a little annoying. Other than that great facilities and a cafeteria where you can purchase refreshments in the 2nd floor, which is also where the bathrooms are located.
Such an unusual building. While standing on the stairs a Sacre Coeur the bright colours of the Centre stick out, like Pompidous personal flag waving over the city. I don't like the architecture, but it is unusual and only therefore a reason to visit. Across from the Centre is a cobblestone square with a genuine Paris Newspaper Stand. He carries almost any paper in the world.
Signs are badly explained. The service is not smieling or velcome. The staircase may need a service check before something catatrofic happens.
Too bad there are too many works attached to each other. A blue by Yves Klein in a corner and obscured by a sculpture. Perhaps it is caused by the works present at various points in the building.
Very nice. Some strange artworks around but definitely worth a visit. I would however check beforehand to see what exhibition is on as you may find the artwork in the exhibition not to your taste depending on the theme. Easily accessible with public transport like the Metro or busses so no need to drive or park. The food can be a little expensive for the quality you get (as is normal with most places like this I guess) so an idea would be to eat before you go.
Not really that fascinating in my opinion, although you can get some good views of Paris.
Didnt manage to go in but place looks nice and artsy and different from other buildings. Its also near souvenir shops and restaurants.
Interesting building with modern, strange architecture. Definitely worth a visit.
It is a nice place to visit but during the works it is difficult to find the entrance.
Very artistic, went with local friends , must try chocolat chaud at cafes located next to this bful location
The conference room is well equipped and comfortable. The access is next to exhibition rooms allowing a visit to wait for the start of the session.
The building itself is monumental and exhibits are monumental. Demonstrate how much France is investing in art. The Pompidou Center is a place specializing in contemporary art, and the Pompidou Center should be visited in order to appreciate the works of art artists, installation art, and media works that have already become symbols of modern art under the names Matisse, Kandinsky and Chagall. It is a place where you can see the flow of contemporary art at a glance.
Excellent collection, beautifully curated. My favourite of the European modern art museums. Goes some way to addressing the whitewashing in many contemporary galleries' collections. Jolly and provocative. Best coat check. Worst for service in the top floor bar. More hostesses than you could count but only one waiter taking drinks orders and bringing the drinks.
Beautiful art gallery too bad for the long line thought
Center focused on modern and contemporary art. It hosts presentations of cinema, photography, theater, music and literature. The patio symbolizes the spirit of the 20th century. It is colorful and draws the attention of those who pass by.
If modern art gets you going then this is the place to go. I found the building itself to be the most interesting. The exhibits generally less so. Well worth opening the mind to the possibility of enlightenment!
There's a special building for the romanian Constantin Brancusi sculptures!
THe biggest collection of Modern art in europe. Great viewpoitn lookign onto paris from teh top of teh tube escalators.
we haven't been inside as it seems the place is under construction and surrounded by boards as you can find on construction sites. but still a nice area to go with street artists and nice people around
Amazing collection of modern and contemporary. And amazing space.
A rich center! Surprising and interesting works one of my favorite museums! With temporary exhibitions at the top and not too busy. Entrance fee a bit expensive.
:) how can you rate the center of pompidou
I can tell about the Modern time idea or the history of the building but no much to say. Must to read online on the place and just go see it !!!
Amazing building. Not much is available for free which kind of forces you to buy a ticket but this does then give you access to all the exhibitions.
Great modern place. If you love art, I advise you to visit.
Modern big museum. Took a while to check all exhibitions
The museum is quite big. But it's hard to navigate through the exhibitions. For contemporary art lovers I think it will be interesting but I found lacking explanations about some art pieces. Wouldn't recommend going after visiting louvre or Dali museum because this will seem lacking and not interesting.
Great place to visit when in Paris, it is peculiar museum with modern art and also has shops inside where you can buy customized souvenirs od the museum. I recommend vividly to visit after or before visiting Notre dame once it is just located 5min walking.
Great place a lot of known paintings very good welcome great services I recommend
The Pompidou Center itself is a large-scale art exhibition, full of modern art atmosphere against the blue sky.
Guided visit on first Sunday of the month was amazing! Wouls go again
The art museum is really interesting with many great works. Sadly it is confusing in layout and has no water fountains.
Good collections and architecture, nice view from the top also
Beautiful exhibition of Christo "the packer of tourist sites"
I have been going there since it opened. It is an essential cultural meeting place in Paris.
The place where I spent my weekend when it opened, always so rich for who loves culture. Beautiful exhibitions always well developed. Heart stroke.
Only if you are interested in mode art, but you can take a walk inside because it's big.
I can t say well enough about such a rich Modern and Contemporary Art Museum: works of art are many from the same artists, very well spaced one from another, so that whilst visiting, a person can compare the works and understand the artistic evolution of the artist. The more recent installations are set in their tailor made rooms- such a respect for contemporary art. Temporary exhibitions are also set in the enormous other rooms, and they close one hour later than the regular halls- Definitely one of the best museums in Paris, also open until late at night.
Great modern art. Bizarre building, dated but still good.
Yes and no. It is worth it. But nothing of that now
Magnificent permanent collection and very beautiful temporary exhibitions. Sublime view of Paris. A downside for the restaurant upstairs very expensive for what it is!
If you love art, this is your place. If you are not interested much about art, only the view is worth it.
Beautiful panoramic view of all Paris there is also a shop and a bookstore. Modern architecture.
Honestly, very disappointing. The directions are sloppy, the exhibits are not interesting, and the best part is a roof top restaurant with no views of anything but pigeons. Really a waste of time considering the other venues available to any tourist. But if you stand outside in just the right place you can see the Eiffel Tower, but generally speaking the view is not romantic at all.
Good exhibitions, but rather complicate infrastructure
For 5 euros go to the viewing level, using the iconic escalator.
It is still really ugly. If you are a tourist, no need to come here to waste your time. The search at the entrance is worse than an airport. Only interest to enter it, there is a real Space invader inside.
the pompidou center of paris is one of the most visited museums in the world and houses a collection of about 70 thousand works, where design, architecture, photography and multimedia works are placed alongside the visual arts. These works are proposed through constantly renewed exhibition forms and are often accompanied by cycles of conferences, meetings, debates, concerts and shows. It was a wonderful surprise to visit it, the entrance was free thanks to the Paris Musium pass, go and see it if you have time .
Very spectacular building and with a side plaza of scandal! Obliged visit if you go to Paris!
I find this place great we are quiet and can also eat there and it is very, clean
Spectacular view of Paris. Modern and out of the ordinary. Although I prefer historic Paris, and this centre looks completely out of place it has its merit and a magnificent lunch was served!
Love your w
Easculators
Beautiful original museum. Beautiful scenario of the works seen chronologically. The party with the water is very nice with its view on Paris breathtaking !! Exhibition on art in prehistory is to see. To recommend in Paris !!
The greatest modern art museum in the world. If you keep an open mind and take the art for what it is, you will enjoy your time here. If you have particular ideas of what art is and should be, then maybe you should pass.
It was pretty cool, it s a very iconic location and a tourist must for Paris, the surrounding area has lots of nice shops and stands. If you are a fan of fashion I would recommend the flagship Luis Vuitton store. It is huge and stands out among other buildings, and I would recommend.
