The worst experience of my life. My dear mother passed away on April 7th, 2016 in this hospital. She was only 60. She went in for gal bladder surgery and was diagnosed with liver cancer and died 19 days later. When asked why she died the nurse simply said, "We're not sure." How could a nurse say that? When I clearly got upset then she no longer wanted to speak with me. I will mention one exception, her night nurse, Vicki. Vicki is a sweet caring woman. Thank you Vicki for taking the best care you could of my mother. Too bad you're the only good part of this hospital. DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

As you can tell from the overwhelming reviews if you have a emergency Centerpoint ER is not the place to go. Take a few minutes & go anywhere else. It s the worst of the worst. My experience was much like everyone one else s. Throw you in the hall no room no attention in extreme pain for over 5 hours. By the time it was all over e-rays etc. & told I m fine no meds & sent home. I couldn t even walk on my ankle at all. I went to another ER who found the fracture. I would never ever ever go to Centerpoint or take anyone there!! Rude uncaring. Treated paitents in ER subhuman. It might be a fine hospital for having a baby or a surgery. But not a ER body. Very sad as well that the only response they make on here are to a happy review. They only reenforce the fact that they couldn t care less about all these many unhappy people/patients/customers by not responding with something. I m very sorry for your experience & we are working hard to improve our customer experience & ER dept ??? Centerpoint you need new PR

After having my baby at home this hospital is trying to charge me $28,000 for "labor and delivery fees" on top of all post delivery care, if you could call it that. This is after contacting multiple departments at the hospital, who agreed with me that the bill was incorrect. It was then sent to audit and surprise, surprise some people in an office in Virginia deemed it correct. This place was awful, they made an already traumatic experience so much worse and I'm still having to deal with it. Really, go anywhere else.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Staff couldn't care less if you are crying all day in pain they have bigger things to worry about like where to order their lunch. I begged nursing staff in tears from 10am-4:30 pm for help to which they igorned and had me wait 1.5 hours for a doctor and doctor told me one thing later on no one can figure out who I talked to and I'm told the opposite by the next. Eventually I am forced to leave the room after getting nothing resolved and forced to sit in a wheel chair outside of the ER crying in public without a bra on as I was brought in by ambulance and told I've used the room long enough. This hospital has serious ethical issues and I asked repeatedly to speak to a Patient advocacy representative of which never showed up. I'll be filing a claim against this establishment and refuse paying any bill they send me for leaving me in the same pain I went in with.

I dealt with Dr. Denise Cinciripini in public. She was not wearing a mask. I didn't realize she was a physician, and told her if she could not be six feet away from others, that she should have a mask on. Her reply was that it isn't mandated. Are you kidding me? A physician is telling me she is not going to think of others: health, and may give them COVID 19, because it isn't mandated! Then she told me she was a physician at Centerpointe. As a physician I would think she would be one of the first people to model safe health practices.

As usual, Centerpoint is the best hospital there is! From the ER to the 4th floor, I had the best care I could ask for! I was in so much pain and they gave me medicine as soon as they could! Dr Duncan and Molly in the ED, plus everybody that came in to help: Bryan, Val, Sarah Addie,Autumn,Cheryl, Eric, and so many more pass through my mind! There was a Tech on 4th floor who helped me bathe and feel human again! That s what makes a great hospital!

Went to the ER, about one o'clock. Getting in was fast, the Drs and nurses were ALL very kind, friendly, and understanding. Clean and great atmosphere. I got like 5 different tests on me because got once they actually TRIED to find out what's wrong. Thankfully they found it so I can adjust my life accordingly. I'm so BLESSED to of gone at the day and time I did. I will never go to another ER again.. only reason there are 4 stats not fine is because I didn't get discharged until 830 pm.. They got really busy towards evening time and it was hard to keep up which I understand. Thank you Center point ER and all the great ladies who attended to me yesterday.

The last time I checked, you do an EKG and other tests on someone with extremely high blood pressure and severe headache. These people did a cat scan and discharged a patient while their blood pressure was still high. We were told to go see a primary Doctor on a Sunday. Absolute morons!

The hospital is extremely good however the group of hospitalist they have aren't worth their weight. When I knew more than the hospitalist there is a problem. Just saying. If you're there with your own physicians it's great. Nursing staff went above and beyond, facility was clean, food was good for being a hospital.

My mammogram appointment was scheduled for 9:30 on Dec. 26th. I checked in for my appointment at 9. I didn t get called back for my mammogram until after 10. Not once did any staff reach out to me and apologize for the wait or let myself or anyone else know why they were so far behind. I think common courtesy would ve gone a long way with the receptionist. The Radiology tech was very courteous.

They literally saved my life! Unknowingly I was in septic shock when I arrived at ER. They were very quick to disgnose and begin the correct process of IV fluids and antibiotics plus labwork. I received care from 4 or 5 specialist, and some really great doctors, and ICU nurses during my stay. They were all very kind and compassionate as well as competent and professional. They are definately "on top of thier game"!

I went to their emergency room due to a DV situation; I was 5 months pregnant and was excruciating pain to the point I needed assistance walking. We waited close to an hour to be seen, it was another 2 hours to wait for an ultrasound that only lasted 5 minutes and another 1 and a half to get an x ray of my ribs done. We waited another hour to 2 hours to be told it was bruised ribs and they sent me home. Worst hospital visit I've ever experienced

I was recently admitted for Sepsis Secondary to Pyleonephritis and in an extreme amount of pain upon arrival through the ER. From the second I stepped in the building, the staff were right by my side. During my stay, the care given was impeccable and the Nurses and Doctors made me feel like family. I cannot express how much that means. Saved my life, thank you.

I was at Centerpoint recently for chest pain. Was admitted for 3 days. Started having more issues when the nurse came in with discharge papers. I let her know what was going on. She said if it continues to be seen again. Never contacting the Dr to see what they wanted to do. When I asked questions she just told me I may want to go to a different ER because she didn't think the Dr would do anything different. I was floored. This is my heart!! Her name was Felicia So sad that all of my Drs are affiliated with Centerpoint then to be told to go somewhere else without even talking to the Dr. Wow!!

BED BUGS!! Came Home from Centerpoint with BED BU...

BED BUGS!! Came Home from Centerpoint with BED BUGS!! I would give no stars for Centerpoint if I could. Had to give it 1 star. But it's way worse. My sister was in the ICU for two weeks at Centerpoint and when she came home from the hospital and was bed-bound for another couple of weeks, we then discovered she now has BED BUGS! Because of numerous health issues she is house bound and has been for a couple of years. The ONLY place she'd been was the ICU at Centerpoint. The bathrooms there are filthy, and there wasn't a sheet, pillow case, blanket or patient gown that did not have holes in it, and/or old blood stains. There was also broken furniture in the room and reclining chairs that no longer reclined. During my long vigils there, I noticed how dirty the hospital was and took to carrying Clorox wipes with me and used those for everything I touched. In the main lobby, I wiped off the grab bar in the women's restroom, and it came off brown!! I took several more Clorox wipes and tried to clean it but gave up after then next several cloths came off in varying shades of brown. There is no excuse for this lack of cleanliness and bed bugs in a HOSPITAL. For all I know, that was feces on the grab bar. We'll never go back to Centerpoint. I wouldn't take my dog there. This lack of cleanliness and BED BUGS is a shame for a hotel, yet alone a hospital. No telling what else she picked up there. Avoid this place like the plague - in fact, you might just pick it up there. UPDATE: Months later...the BED BUGS keep coming back! SHAME on you Centerpoint.

My ER visit was probably one of the best ever. I'm pleased that I made the choice to go to Centerpoint Medical Center instead of another local health care provider. I was seen promptly, treated professionally, the staff were caring and communicated effectively. My daughter who was with me and is from Jefferson City commented that the next time she needed to go to the ER, she would be better off driving the 2 hours to Blue Springs because she would be seen quicker than if she went to the ER 5 minutes from her home.

Every single staff member, from housekeeping to the room and food services, especially the nurses and doctors have just been so amazingly nice and respectful. Genuinely good people work here

This is the DIRTIEST HOSPITAL I have ever had to endure. You stuck to the carpet in the waiting room. The chairs were so dirty we didn't want any part of our bodies touching them. The elevators smell worse than a boys locker room. We had to hold our nose when on it. The charge nurse was snotty and the receptionist was hateful rude yelling at us the nurses said that we needed to leave and go home and apparently one person awake in a waiting room is too loud. All of this was on the labor and delivery! I was scared for my daughter and grandchild. I don't recommend this hospital! I wouldn't take my dog there for a flee bite!

I can't say enough about how kind, attentive the nurses, Doctors, PA, registration have been to me. I have several medical issues that flare at times causing trips to the ER resulting sometimes in Hospital admissions.
Thank you to each and every person that cared for me.
Sometimes a smile, a kind word, can make a person with chronic illnesses and pain feel just a little bit better.
to house keeping team and the food
team.
Of course you will run into a bad apple, but you can't let them ruin the entire bunch.
I'd like to end by saying, my husband and I are grateful, we pray before we come, while we are there and when we leave.
God surely hears our prayers.
Showers of Blessings to you and you!

I visited the er at centerpoint i have to say the staff was extremely rude and did not help me at all i had a fall and injured my spine i was and still am in extreme pain. The staff did not give me follow up instruction or pain relief while i was hospitalized i was screaming in pain and it took them 30 min. To give me a drug that was for muscle relaxation not pain killer i left in pain and the doc told me to buy HEROINE cause its cheaper than legal perscribed painkiller. The nurses walked out of the room while i was trying to ask questions about my well being. They did absolutely nothing for me. I would suggest never going to that er for help. Horrible experience. Also i have a huge blood bruise where they took my blood that hurts badly to the touch. Maybe it is just the night staff. I sure hope so. I will not be paying that bill.

The majority of the staff was nice. My biggest issue was my daughter in law came in to be seen due to bleeding and cramping at 14 weeks pregnant. They took her back for her ultrasound and my son, HER HUSBAND, was not allowed to go back with her. Thankfully the baby is okay but this is her first pregnancy and what if she was going through a miscarriage, she would have had no support through that. The tech basically told her she shouldn't have come, kept the monitor where my DIL couldn't see it and made the comment that she couldn't find the heartbeat but oh well she'll check later. My DIL was very upset and to me that was completely unacceptable! First time moms are scared about everything she should have been able to have support from her husband and the staff should have been more aware of the patient and her feelings. I will never come back and I told them they need to go to a different hospital if any further problems arise.

Nothing to like about it. Took our 1 yr old there who had slipped learning to walk and was crying over her ankle. We sat for hours with our baby daughter crying. Finally had a doctor come in and order xrays. Two more hours go by and we are told we are being transferred to childrens mercy. When we arrive at childrens mercy my wife and I are taken by police officers and dfs to a room where we are questioned then split up. They are acusing us of child abuse because centerpoint had a diagnosis of two broken legs, a broken hip, two broken ankles and a broken femur. After 30 mins of being yelled at by police and dfs the staff at childrens mercy came in and got the dfs and officers and told them she only had a slightly sprained left ankle which would indicate a slip or trip and nothing was broken and that it had been misdiagnosed. For the past two months we have still been doing follow ups with dfs because of this and our daughter is our perfect angel that we love with all of our heart. Her mother and myself were in tears over being accused of all of this. We are the most loving parents you will ever find. Once reunited with our daughter the staff at childrens promtly appoligized for the inconvenience. We contacted the personel manager at centerpoint who told us "it is what it is and we give our diagnosis and if we dont like it too bad" . Needless to say we will NEVER EVER EVER be back to centerpoint. I would rather die a slow death than be put through the hours of anguish and now months of red tape over a slightly sprained ankle of a child learning to walk. The POOREST excuse for a hosiptal ever. I rate it negative a million stars. Dont even take your dog there. It will probably get put down only to find out it had a cold but too late.

I have been to Centerpoint several times. I have had to have emergency surgery there. I was life flighted there and was treated very well in the ER. I have been to the ER several times and was treated very well. The nurses explained everything they were doing and when IV's were put in I barely felt the needles going in. Every floor that I have stayed on the nurses were very nice and very attentive to my needs. Do I like the fact that I have been there so much? No, but that is the hand I have been dealt. I have never had a doctor or nurse with a bad bedside manor and I have had male and female.Heck I probably own a room. The employees there from custodians to the doctors have been great. Rooms have always been clean, nurses have been prompt with meds and making sure things are good and doctors have always come in when they have said they would and explained anything that I have needed to know. All of my doctors are in the medical building and I am very glad they are. In my opinion this hospital has alot to be proud of and I am glad that I have had my surgeries and procedures there. You can hold your heads high with me. Thanks So Much!

My mom is currently in this hospital. Not the first time she's been in there and not the first time we've witnessed some poor nursing. The nurses there, I won't say all, but I feel they act like it's the patient's fault for being there. Nurses want credit for working their long hrs,and "helping people" but yet they are crummy at it. The ONLY reason my mother is at this hospital, is because it was closest to her home and it was emergency. In the past I've complained to hospital personnel about her care. I've often had discussions with other people about it, and alot of times it's agreed with, that their patients aren't their top priority as it should be with taking people's lives in their hands. I didn't like the care I received in 08 when I gave birth there. And I haven't went back for my own care. It's all around crappy. Note to Centerpoint nurses....if you can't make sick people feel like they're your number one when your in their room, or you can't hide your bad day, or if a patient has to ask you for something you should already be taking care of....GET A NEW PROFESSION!!!!

We have been to Centerpoint several times in the past and have had decent service and good staff. Boy they have changed. The triage area is so cramped that you are all but garanteed to catch whatever contagious disease is floating around. Oh they spent a lot making the ER look pretty and they have new ear piece headsets so they think they are secret service or something but the real service has gone right down the toilet. Like the previous review have said, they are super quick to take your payment but after that, not so quick. I overheard one of the head nurses tell another one to make sure that he went around and got vi tee also from everyone that had been there for 4 hours or more. I can only guess that is to make sure that those patients are still alive. The worst is, after we do finally get a room, after waiting (2 hours so far) we will then wait another hour at least before we get taken care of. (Update) Just watched a couple walk out because they were tired of waiting. I can just assume that they just basically changedone the waiting room to the triage room so they can say that the wait times are low. What a joke. (New update) Just watched a woman who was here by herself ask for a blanket. When they did bring a blanket, the nurse just laid it in the chair neXT to her and couldn't pull it all the way up on herself. Just terrible.

Staff was really NICE problem is the new system for treating patients to keep the ER wait time low puts patient health and safety at more risk. Patients walking around waiting areas with IVs in arms. Everyone from the labor and delivery to postpartum and the NICU were amazing. My baby came 2 months early and I was admitted 10 days before he arrived due to my water breaking and he was in the NICU for 3 weeks after that. The nurses in every department were attentive, caring and most of all very patient. Being parents for the first time and going through a situation like this is extremely scary and hard but having a great staff to answer any and all questions and also being understanding and compassionate makes all the difference.

Horrible experience in birthing center. Most of the staff is kosher, but for the most they have no bedside manner. There heavy handed and rough with the patients. Rude to family members. If this is medical professionalism, I would hate to see this place on a bad day. This place and there staff run this place like a prehistoric hospital. I probably would of got better treatment just heading out to the shed and calling the local vet, although I might of had some explaining to do to the wife, but I personally feel the care would have been better. I really leery of letting these people finish delivering my child. Look elsewhere before you decide on this place.

Yesterday I was in for a myelogram. Frankly, from what I had read online, I was terrified. But every staff member, from admission to the ER nurse, to all in radiology were comforting. The doctor, I think, had a difficult time getting the needle where it needed to be, probably because of my spine, so it took multiple attempts. They went out of their way to tell me what was happening and were compassionate and professional. The ladies at the c.t scan were terrific. When I got back to the room, the ER nurse kindly had ordered a breakfast. A myelogram is not fun, but they made it as comfortable as can be.

I should mention I had this procedure because of a neck injury that required an MRI. I physically couldn't do the MRI. The staff, then, too, were professional and compassionate.
