I am a patient at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center and I can't say enough about the level of care Dr. Talley and the other staff give. They are knowledgable, caring and thorough in treatment options. I am a cancer survivor of 10 years and am thankful for every day I have!!

The staff has been super friendly and very quick to get me through what I need. Everyone has listened and taken the best amount of care of me. I will be leaving here feeling a million times better. This has been the best and fastest emergency room visit of my life. I'm really impressed with the staff, EVERYONE has been amazing. 10/10. Gold stars for everyone.

This is the best hospital I've ever been in. And I've been in a few in Indiana,Arizona and Wyoming in my life and I plan on using Centerpoint Medical Center as long as I live in the Kansas City area. Thank you Centerpoint for the care you've given me at my many of stay's there. Keep up the good work.

I had a gastric emptying test at Centerpoint and the techs were great. The wait was not. Between scans I was in the hospital lobby to wait...right above the cafeteria where people were bringing food back and forth constantly. There was no waiting room decently close to the scanning department and away from food for someone who only had one microwaved radioactive egg in the last 12 hours. You're out with the masses waiting for their loved ones or those sniffling in the lobby. No thanks. For this test, even though the testing staff was great, go to Diagnostic Imaging Centers on the other side of the highway.

I had cardio tests done and was already nervous about it..I called 3 days later to inquire and was told the Dr who was to read was on vacation for a week or so! I asked if another might look at the 3 different testings as I was experiencing heart issues..the rudeness I was met with was outstanding rude and unprofessional. Now I need those records as requested by another Dr. and they can not locate or seem to know what to do after 2 days. I have called the CEO to complain and she referred me back to the records who did not seem to know what to do and she hung up on me today! Would you trust your health there.??LOL. All I needed was a Dr care and now records..and same run arounds. I would never ever go there again!!

I've been going to Centerpoint for mammograms for several years now, and they are consistently wonderful. Plenty of close parking, signs tell you where to go, receptionist is very pleasant and helpful. The radiology admission people are so, so very kind! They make you feel comfortable. Then the radiology tech is very, very skilled. Just a little stretching, no serious discomfort to speak of. And they're always so very patient and nice. And you're done within 15 or 20 minutes, from start to finish. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

The most disho**st hospital I have ever been in.

The most disho**st hospital I have ever been in.
I believe it must be a division of NASA, the "never a straight answer"hospital. Nursing staff is more worried about there payday than killing people
Try to record a nursing staff and U would think that U just robbed a bank. Thay don't want you to be able to retake what the nurse said, hell wait 5min and get 5 different stories, wait 10 min and nurse was never in your room, I will give a 10 out of 10 for the most dishonest people that I have have ever met

The only good about this place is, Dr. Samuels, the surgeon. He is phenomenal!! Meagan, the nurse in the ICU. Renea, the nurse in the ICU. And Jack, one of the respiratory therapists. Dr. Rama, is the Doctor you would hope to care for you. (Worry and request another respiratory therapist, if you are assigned Brandy, in the ICU, Taylor in the ICU, or Jess, typically in the ER.) Melinda, is one of nurses in the ICU, she also plays charge nurse. She is argumentative when a family member asks for their loved one to be taken care of. The case managers and public relations employees, are very unprofessional. I had to constantly bring to attention, care that needed to be addressed for my loved one. I was then told, not to address the incompetence of the nurses and respiratory therapists to their faces, that the public relations, patient advocate, Christie, wanted me to tell her, and her alone. Christie, agreed the hospital needs improvement, but to only notify her of the incompetence and not the staff. Lori, the team leader for the case management, has a nasty attitude, as does Marge. Autumn the case manager just drops the ball on communication and making sure important documents are faxed for patient s. (With exception for Dr. Samuels,)The Doctors have one foot in, and one foot out of the door when you actually get them to speak with you. It s just a faulty hospital. Upon trying to speak to Donna, in administration, she and her assistant, Bree, are only there to reinforce the incompetence.

Centerpoint is an excellent facility. A very professional, friendly, compassionate staff from the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, administrative staff, right down to the housekeeping. Even the food was good. I was very concerned about having surgery during this pandemic, but the staff around me calmed my fears. All were wearing appropriate attire and the hospital was immaculate. Excellent protocol. Thanks to all who helped me during this time.

Our daughter has had many medical problems for years. This time she was complaining about elbow pain. Her doctor suspected that it could be a blood clot or something else stemming from her shoulder. He ordered an immediate scan of some kind. We called Center Point and they said to come right over. We did and were told that they couldn t do the procedure until they got some approvals. They said they would call us the next day. They did and wanted to schedule her for the next week! Is this immediate care? We have other problems with this hospital's ER in the past and plan to not use their facilities again. They must have some good staff, but something is a mess at this facility, in my opinion.

Had to go to the ER with horrible adominal pain. They said the wait would be 4 hours. The pain was so bad I almost passed out, but they wouldn't budge with the time. My friend drove me to Saint Luke's East and I only had to wait less than 5 minutes. Had an emergency apendectomy that could have burst due to the horrible wait time of centerpoint. Even though I live 3 minutes from Centerpoint, Saint Luke's East will be my hospital now.

I liked the nurses and everyone that helped us, but while my dad was in his procedure, I looked at the patient rights form, the ambulatory welcome letter, and the information about falling letter. I can't tell you how many spelling and grammar mistakes! Did they not have anybody proofread any of them? I hate that with a passion! So much they only get 3 stars.

Came into the ER coughing and not being able to breathe. They took me back right away and went to work..did a chest xray blood work etc. The fastest service I've ever had and the 8 days I spent there the staff was very friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable.

The medical personnel at Centerpoint were fine. My...

The medical personnel at Centerpoint were fine. My complaint has everything to do with the billing and accounts receivable practices.

One week prior to my knee surgery in February of 2015, I received a phone call from Centerpoint. I was expecting such a call because typically the hospital will call with information regarding check in, diet restrictions, etc. prior to the date of surgery. Instead, it was the billing department demanding - yes DEMANDING - that I pay upfront, 100% of the estimated cost of the surgery. They informed me they would have to receive payment in full before they could perform the surgery. When I told them it was ludicrous to pay for any surgery up front due to deductible amounts, co-insurance, etc. they told me that I would at least have to put a certain % down. Again, I balked. After several ER visits, doctor's visits, etc, I knew that a good portion of my deductible would have been satisfied by the time of my surgery. Finally, after MUCH back and forth, she settled for a payment of $1,000 which I was still reluctant to make.
Since my surgery, I continue to receive statements from Centerpoint that do not reflect payments made from my HSA account. When I called asking why - when my husband has made over $500 in payments - the statement doesn't reflect ANY of these payments. I was given a very confusing answer over the phone; "... it has to do with procedures and you were actually billed for 5 different procedures and, then of course what the insurance paid, and write off amounts, etc..." It was a very confusing, and very BS response. I asked if I should have been receiving different statements for the different procedures ... and if maybe the reason why this particular statement doesn't reflect our payments is because they were applied to the other procedures, I was told that no, they don't bill separately for different procedures, and that I would only be receiving one statement. Huh? But you just said ... So why doesn't this ONE statement reflect the payments we've made?? ugh.
To date, I believe we have overpaid over $400 and I have no hope of any satisfactory resolution. I believe they participate in unfair and unscrupulous billing practices, asking for payment in full up front, threatening to cancel my surgery if I didn't pay, etc.
I will never go back to Centerpoint. I've told my husband, in the event I have a bleeding head wound and Centerpoint is THE ONLY hospital available, to just leave me to die.

Went in Centerpoint for a TKR. From registration to discharge the doctors, nursing and staff were professional, knowledgeable and very efficient. The nursing staff on 4th floor orthopedic were outstanding as was physical therapy. I would highly recommend Centerpoint and Dr. Ballard for orthopedic care.

I was impressed by the state of the art equipment, but better yet was the class act staff. The quality of care was first rate. The attitude of everyone was upbeat and caring, indicative of people who enjoy their jobs. I am surprised by this, as HCA is not known for it s people skills Obviously, the management of Centerpoint has learned to value it s employees. Good job!

Very horrible experience at Centerpoint. My injuries were not taken seriously. Staff was inattentive, strung me along after I asked to leave to go to another hospital because they didn't want my insurance company "to refuse to pay the bill". Doctor was unprofessional and seemed incompetent. May have to go back unfortunately for follow up. Could have definitely dodged this experience by going to St. Luke's.

This is care for my wife Sarah I entered the hospital thru the emergency area. i was treated with great care while in there. They then moved me to a room on the fourth floor the care of the nurses was very good . I had the same two nurses for my total visit. They would be rated very high in my opinion.

They keep remodeling and spending hundreds of thousands dollars, but have people waiting w chest pains for up to 4, 5 and 6hrs. Thru only have 4 Drs on staff and no trauma events or ambulances coming In. WHY? what's the point in spending all this money on remodels when they can't meet the needs of their patients? I've lived here 8yrs and they are just going down hill in patient care, but as long as their hospital is fancy enough for the employee's to enjoy that seems to be the objective.

Most caring and kind staff for my husband in ICU. The nurses are handling, what is for us a horrible life event, as angels giving the utmost tender loving care. The support staff (technicians) likewise.

Report all neglect and poor experiences to the Department of Healing Arts.

Soo I'm in the ER department for the second time. They're definitely understaffed here. Staff doesn't move nor work with a sense of urgency. There is only 1 staff member working the front desk. Plus hot shot hospital security up there, watching the cameras.

It's against my religious beliefs to be filmed and have my photograph taken, but guess I don't have much of an option coming in with a medical emergency.

Wait times for me are normally 3-4 hours regardless of symptoms. I see a few patients around me that are in late stage renal failure and we're all lined up, waiting for someone, somewhere to offer Emergency Room services.

This is not an ER department. It's a very poor Urgent Care clinic.

Hospital layout is confusing. Some doors are locked once you step outside, which caused me to walk all the way around the hospital to reach the ER entrance, which is always filled with those waiting to get entered into the system.

If you're in need of Emergency medical treatment, do not go here. You will have to wait hours waiting in one of the many rooms sitting and waiting, sitting around people with their phones constantly ringing, people having loud conversations on their phones.

This is a hospital, a place meant for healing and peace. Peace is rest. Common courtesy goes a long way, and instead of having security constantly popping his head the door looking for smokers, ensure your patients are seen, comfortable and being taken care.

OOOHHHH yyyeeah. Almost forgot!! There was several drops of blood on the toilet seat in the public restroom near the waiting areas when I tried to use it. That's freaking nasty!!!

Don't you dare bother contacting me. You have your feedback, use it.

I have heard nothing but horror stories about the ...

I have heard nothing but horror stories about the surgeries performed at this place. Several people I have spoken with who have had back surgery or shoulder surgery have had to find other doctors to fix the mistakes made by some of the doctors (quacks) at Centerpoint.

More specifically, my Brother-In-Law went to Centerpoint Medical Center for two rotator cuff surgeries and had to have both redone at a different hospital because neither was performed properly at Centerpoint. The surgeon who performed both surgeries on my Brother-In-Law left bone spurs that tore the muscle and tendons, post surgery. When my Brother-In-Law went to the second surgeon, at another facility when his shoulders weren't healing properly and had them fixed properly.

The second surgeon told him that the first surgeon did not do a very thorough job.

To their credit, I have also heard they have a very good labor and delivery unit, so maybe they should focus specifically on bringing new faces into this world rather than trying to fix the ones who are already here. Just saying.

Got rushed through like I was on an assembly line....

Got rushed through like I was on an assembly line. Got done with x-ray and got my discharge papers email BEFORE I even was talked to by a nurse practitioner not a doctor. I came in with pain and left with pain. Once I told them initially during assessment I don't want anything for pain, they pretty much dismissed my pain index. X-ray was negative thank goodness, was diagnosed with a sprain/strain with possible ligament damage. So, MRI or CT, right? Wrong. I guess either Centerpoint or my insurance company didn't want to deal with my problem. Was told to follow up with an orthopedic. Of course I will probably be told to get MRI or CT by him. That of course will be done on outpatient and that means a high co pay. Why couldn't they have done this as part of my ER visit? It's all about the money.....

The quality of care and knowledge the doctors have...

The quality of care and knowledge the doctors have tended to vary, as there are many different doctors in different areas of health at Center Pointe. Unfortunately, on an average visit, you will get what I'd consider an average doctor/specialist, combined with a bill that is quite ridiculous. Center Point hikes your bill up more than any other hospital in the area, and this has even been reported on the local news. I've not had any luck at St. Mary's in Blue Springs either, but there are other options.

Do not even try the ER at Centerpoint. They are rude and it will be a huge waste of money. The only time I went there, which was the 4th time I had been to an ER in my life, I was lectured about how I was not making effective use of an ER as my symptoms had been ongoing since the month prior and I had been seen by a doctor. I ended up leaving without being seen.

Received the incorrect Receipt for a different person. I made payment that DAY and on the phone they insist I HAVE TO RETURN THE RECEIPT, as my account show none made. This is ridiculous and terrible customer service! I expect they would allow me to email a copy. NEVER will I use them again.

Worst place to take a loved one. My mother went in with possible congestive heart failure and was given test and sent out to the waiting room for results where she sat for over 2 hours to be seen again. Some people had been waiting for over 6 hours. This place should be shut down.

Centerpoint opened around 2006, taking the place of Columbia Health Center and the other hospital off 23rd street in Independence, Missouri. Centerpoint has an Emergency Room, Women's Clinic, Outpatient Surgery, and other services. I'll post a photo.

First I will say, the medical staff was great, no complaints there. I would rate them at 5. However. Centerpoint s coding & billing department is a nightmare. An absolute NIGHTMARE. One that I have been battling for 18 months. It has had a drastic effect on my credit. Genuinely no fault of my own. For this very reason I will never willingly refer nor seek medical attention there.

Centerpoint Medical Hospital is the worst Hospital you could ever go too. I would not recommend this hospital for my dieting dog or my worst enemy... The room they put you in is like when u go to the doctor s office for your check up. There was so many people staying Come on and take this IV out I m leaving, this makes no since at all I have to wait 5 hours before o go up stairs since I was admitted . There was only 1 nurse that I would recommend staying she is a good nurse and her name is Taylor, she was and is the best nurse they have there hands down. But that will be my first and last time going to Centerpoint Medical Center

Really fast getting us back. Amazing nurses and the doctor who did my boyfriends surgery was amazing and helpful. Better than I thought the last 5 days would be. Dr. Fisher was amazing and all the nurses. My boyfriend had galbladder removal & our time staying there I was even considering having my baby there in a few months! So amazing.

i have heard many negative comments about Centerpoint Hospital. However this hospital is where my doctor does surgeries. I did have major surgery at Centerpoint Hospital and I have to say how wonderful the staff is. The check in was fantastic. My nursing staff was fabulous. The anesthesiologists was awesome. My surgeon is the best. All of the staff get the five stars. I would definitely recommend this hospital.

Went through their ambulatory surgery center for a colonoscopy and also Colorectal Surgery Associates that work out of this building. Was very grateful for the treatment I received, I was extremely nervous to get my first colonoscopy but the staff could not have been more reassuring, productive, and polite. They made sure I was as comfortable as possible and everything went smoothly.

I was in for 10 days last September for a collapsed lung. Other than 2 nurses everyone was very kind. I can't say how much I really appreciated the private room. I was able to have my laptop and phone. The food is good for hospital food. My pain and anxiety was respected as well as my autism.

The doctors and nurses made me feel absolutely comfortable and well-cared for the entirety of my stay. They fixed my issue and had me on my feet the next day - I can't say enough good things about this hospital and its team!

This is the worst place to go when your in need of medical attention. Staff shows no compassion for there patients. Was just left to suffer in a cold room for several hr with no updated. Told staff that there was puke in the trash can and it was never cleaned. The five star reviews are a scam to bring up their rating. No integrity here

This is, without a doubt, the most horrible staff and hospital I've ever been to. The EMTs were laughing at me on the ambulance because I was in town for a music festival, which they said was "so stupid". I was upset and dilirious and they said I was "lucky I didn't wind up raped in the forest. Oh by the way, you weren't sexually assaulted right?" Then I get in and I can hear the nurses laughing and making fun of me in the hallway. So unprofessional, so upsetting. They made me feel like I was a total idiot and all I wanted was help. I was scared and by myself and they made me feel infinitely worse, I cried the whole way home back to Dallas. Get yourself to a hospital with people who won't make you feel stupid for seeking medical attention, this place isn't worth it

Worst damn hospital I have ever seen. My husband was released from Research Medical Center this morning 7/7/2017 after spending a week there. He had a mild stroke and after further tests they found he has Bells Palsy.
He also has Multiple Schlorocis, previous three heart attacks and a pace maker defibulator. At 10 pm I had to call an ambulance because he was having servere pain on the left of his head, blured vision, slured speach, right eye shut left side of his face drooping. After one and a half hours waiting to see a triage nurse he then had more pain on left side of his neck protrouding down his left shoulder blade and his righ arm went numb during this hour and half. At 1230 am now 7/8 2017 they did a cat scan. At 1 am they did an EKG.
At 130 am we are still in the waiting room and finally after 3 hours they took his Vital signs for the first time. Its now 310 am still in waiting area.

My grandmother had a knee replacement and the day after her surgery the nurse left her in the bathroom alone to take a personal call and never returned. She the proceeded to not use the belt to help her move around and my grandmother fell. She didn't keep her meds and physical therapy. They kept putting the ice pack on the ground and placing the ice pack back onto where her incision was. They did get my grandmother a new nurse.

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before going in.. I give it 4 stars because I did spend 5 hours there. My medical history was done in a room, yes the registration person asks for your social.. but she repeated it back quietly, still not the best practice. Should consider a different verification method. I did not have one bad interaction in my care. I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia given during an invasive dental procedure. Everyone I came across was very compassionate and concerned. I feel pretty lucky I didn't have the same experiences as the others.

I went to the infusion clinic for weekly laboratory draws and port a cath care. I was really impressed by the staff. The nurse's were caring and punctuaI with my appointment times. I received care for a course of six weeks. I was introduced to "Pam" my primary nurse during my time of treatment. She was a joy to see on those days and She has a great skill making sure the op site stays on for the week.

The doctors and staff at Centerpoint Hospital were extremely professional, friendly and cared that my short stay was the best it could be. My nurse, Jeanna, was outstanding and went above and beyond in ensuring I was comfortable and looked up a company that could furnish me a scooter so I wouldn't have to walk on crutches since I was so clumsy with them. I broke my left ankle and the entire process was new to me but Jeanna and staff kept me well informed about everything that I was going to go through. Overall, I was impressed by everyone; including the registration office and intake personnel.

They rush you in and out, without even figuring out what s wrong with you. God forbid, you don t have insurance. You will not be seen. You will be giving fluids and ibuprofen. Was supposed to get a chest X-ray didn t receive it. Got sent home with ibuprofen. 2 days later, seen at Truman medical Center for shortness of breath , chest pain and a severe case of cold. Physicians, nurses, and x-ray techs all were knowledgeable, fast, efficient, professional and kind. I could not have asked for any better care! Thank you Centerpoint and to your wonderful staff for the care they provide!!
