A local, national and international treasure. The museum exhibits are all exquisite. The Jim Henson exhibit is extensive, delightful and insightful. There are live productions for all ages as well as workshops and related film screenings. A remarkable Art Center made possible by the Visionary leadership of Vincent Anthony.

We all had a good time at the Jim Henson and Labyrinth exhibits as well as the global section. Small place but very well designed. Other reviews had us anticipating a large gift shop, but it wasn't as big as we had thought.

To know that Jim Henson planned in the 1970s for Atlanta to become the home of his many, many, many works and the home of puppetry in general speaks volumes. No matter your age, when you step into the #CenterforPuppetryArts you become a kid again. From "Punch and Judy" to "Caroline" and everything in between, this is a definite gem sitting in the city.

We took my daughter to see "The True Story About the Three Little Pigs by Adolf Wolf." Which in my personal opinion is much funnier than the original. When you first come in, it has a museum set up that you can look at and some interactive games for kids. The theater was small and they used regular metal folding chairs which was ok, but not comfortable for long time sitting. The acting was so entertaining. The props were excellent they drew the kids and us adults in to the performance. It was very engaging. My daughter loved it she couldn't be still. Afterwards, you got to go upstairs and build your own wolf puppet which was just a bonus.

This is one of Atlanta's best treasures! The Jim Henson collection is like going on a walk through my childhood in the 80s. My 18 month daughter was also delighted by the sesame Street characters, Muppets, and Fraggles. The world puppet exhibit puts this art form into context and lets you appreciate how deep and diverse this practice actually is. And the special exhibit hall currently features the Dark Crystal, which is a masterpiece. I'm looking forward to seeing a show when my daughter is a little older. If you at all enjoy puppets, go. You will be glad you did!

This is a really wonderful place for children and adults, alike. The artistry of the puppeteers is quite amazing. I love how they always come out at the end of the show and show the artistic science behind the magic.

So fantastic! The general collection is neat to see, and the special exhibitions are also great. The crown jewel is the Henson section. If you are even a little bit of a fan of Sesame Street, The Muppets, Fragle Rick, or anything Henson this is your pilgrimage.

This place is the coolest, I grew watching everything that Jim Henson made from the Storyteller to The Dark Crystal and this place has the largest Jim Henson exhibit in the country. Not only that but you can see puppets from all over the world here. They also put on different shows though out the year, contact them for more information.

I have been to this place and they say , they are special needs friendly but they are not my son was in the theater and he was crying about something but they would not allow him to stay in the theater and there where other children that had special needs in the theater but when I took my son to the aquarium and they had a show just like the theater at the puppet show and he made noise like all the children they let him stay and it was special needs friendly.

There're a great collections of puppets and screens showing puppet shows from all over the world. Of course, there are Big Bird and puppets from Sesame Street. Today, we also saw a wonderful puppet show from Taipei Taiwan, A Chance Encounter. There's no worry of language barrier, because there is no talking. Through the detail actions of puppets and music, the audience enjoyed the show in great deal. There are only three shows offered. Don't miss your chance of encounter!

Just saw Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season. The children were mesmerized and the adults were completely impressed and amazed. This was well worth the cost of admission. My daughter is 10 years old. She can't wait to see the next show. This is a must see.

I loved the interactive activity that followed and the museum. My group experienced strange feelings with our eyes due to the lighting in the theater but nothing that lasted after the performance. We sae Charlotte's Web.

The parking lot is hard to find and a bit tight, but once parked the shows are fun and the museum is very cool. They WILL ask you to remove loud/crying/distracting children from the show for the benefit of everyone else (which I appreciate)...so if you have a child prone to be "that child", maybe sit this one out.

The exhibit is great and lots of interesting things about puppets. Good giftshop too, but I wish they feature more licensed characters. The theater is worse for wear. I wish they have enough funding to renovate the theater.

This place is incredible. The Jim Henson exhibit was so much fun, bringing back great memories. I saw a few things I didn't recognize, too. The global exhibit was fascinating as well. Well worth the $15 admission.

Great theater! I love the exhibits and the puppets here! My personal favorite shows are Cinderella Della Circus and Duke Ellington's Cat, wish they brought those back because they were AMAZING!

Amazing job on the Henson exhibit. I did miss the old puppets of the world exhibit. With the robotic Phoenix to welcome you and the room with all the wide eyed puppets staring at you and even the puppet in the floor (my personal favorite). The skeksis is gone but replaced with Aughra and Jen. The space pigs are gone but replaced with so many great muppets. This center is a great little jewel of Atlanta it is a must see for locals and tourists. Kids will love seeing their favorite Sesame Street characters (and grown ups will too). Who doesn't love Big Bird?!

Amazing place! If you grew up watching the Muppets and Sesame Streets, you will definitely enjoy visiting this museum. Excellent staff but ok gift shop. There were Star Wars toys in there that had nothing to do with the Muppets. Rather odd?

My husband and I went here as part of our Valentine's Day weekend! It was absolutely spectacular! I knew I would be impressed, but wow! If you are a Jim Henson fan, GO! It was amazing seeing some of my favorite characters, from The Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.

This is a unique and neat place. The parking is close and convenient, and handicap/stroller accessable. The museum is interesting and well laid out. The staff is also very friendly. I spent about an hour but could have spent a bit longer to read more of the signs. I also saw a puppet show, Rainforest Adventure. My toddler and I liked it so much that we brought the whole family a few weeks later. This is a fun place to visit as a local, and also a great place to bring visitors.

Puppetry and animation were really great. However we watched their Rudolph show and they had some outdated concepts that could easily have been avoided or updated. For example there was a comment about a job being for a man only. Not sure what the point of perpetuating those stereotypes to a roomful of young girls and boys is.

I went as a chaperone with my daughter's school to see Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and everything went smoothly on their part. The staff was friendly and patient. I think it would be just the same if not better if we went just as a family. There is so much more than just the show to expierence.

If you are like me and are fascinated by the art of puppetry, you must visit the Center for Puppetry Arts. There is an in-depth look in the creative genius, Jim Henson. There are displays showcasing puppetry from all over the world.
A short walk from the MARTA station.

The Jim Henson exhibit was awesome!! Also I liked that they had an exhibit that showed puppets from around the world. The Japanese puppets are done on water.

The Dark Crystal exhibit was cool. It had a lot of details about the movie and the books I'd never heard before.

Neat place to waste an hour or so. I'm not super into puppets but it was neat to see the history and how puppets have evolved over the years.

Tip: locals with a Pines Library card can check out a pass to get entrance for 4 people free.

What a great experience. This is a true treasure that will bring back lots of memories, while also preserving them for another generation. The Jim Henson side of the museum is incredible. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours and well worth the price of entry!

I visited to experience the Labyrinth exhibit before it leaves but found ever so much more! Absolutely fascinating museum, beautifully executed. Even if you weren't curious about puppetry or film you would be filled with wonder by this magical place. Well worth the trip!

If you're looking for a creative activity for kids (or adults who are kids at heart), Center for Puppetry Arts is awesomeness tied up with a bow. They offer a range of activities including: theatrical performances, puppet making classes, and exhibit space to learn more about puppetry. Their Jim Henson show was the bomb. Be sure to book tickets in advance because shows can sell out due to the popularity. #Atlanta #Theater #HandArts #Puppetry #KidAtHeart

I took my 4 year old daughter to see Mighty Bug and we both loved it! After the show, we enjoyed the on-site museum and she made her own glow in the dark puppet craft. Really a fun + educational outing! Parking is plentiful, which is nice in this part of town.

We love this place

I would consider becoming a member just for the behind the scenes info.

Parking is a little tight but manageable.

After the show you are taken upstairs to build a puppet. It s really cool

If you have older kids they might enjoy the puppet Museum but you can skip it with younger kids

I will never NOT have a good time here. Man, oh man. All the childhood memories come flowing back and it is fantastic! There are lots of hands on things for the kids and they always have cool events for adults and kids alike!

Magical place if you want to lose yourself in the history and world of puppetry. I've been four times and just love it. So well put together and the puppet shows are lovely. Great gift shop too.

Fantastic show (Ghastly Dreadfuls), lovely staff, and interesting museum. Staff were kind enough to work with me on seating, making sure to accommodate my father and his mobility issues. I'd certainly recommend the Center for Puppetry Arts without qualification.
