The Celtic Manor is very family friendly and it's very reasonably priced. I always get discount vouchers and make the most of when the room rates drop.

Loverly afternoon tea, wonder time in a relax atmosphere. Enjoyed the experience. Well looked after .
Great to say you have played it but would you go again? Not sure.
The gem of Newport. As expected they always come through with the goods, be it an special event or a mid week beer.
Very happy indeed with whole experience, the jacuzzi in main pool was out of order which was disappointing, and charging to park was a bit mean!!
Absolutely fabulous experience! I recommend for long holiday or short stay as we did! We felt spoiled without having any special treatment. We re often traveling and we know what we re talking about. The 5* are 5*. Spotless clean and comfortable beds and rooms. The shampoo and soap are very good products. Quiet or animated places. We need to try the massage and spa next time. Lovely bar with live music and tasty food. All range of prices from moderate to very high. Quality time and reliable personnel. Mannerism and professionalisms, to end my 5* review.
A tad big for a business trip. The rooms are too far away from the recption, no site map and too many stairs just to get to the room, for myself it is a lift then three flights of stairs down, very odd setup. No clear men7s for the various restaurant's.
Absolutely fab. Exceptional service from concierge, a big Thank you guys !!!
I m really saddened to write this review at only 2 stars but having paid quite a bit of money to spend the day here, I think it s fair to feedback what we experienced.
I booked a spa day for myself & my Mum following the end of her cancer treatment. The booking over the phone was quite easy to arrange but were told we had to provide a written note from the doctor confirming my Mum could have the treatment. She went to the doctor to ask for this and the doctor said she really shouldn t need to provide this to a spa facility, she s had her all clear now. I called them back and the bookings team checked with the Spa Manager, who agreed that she could just sign a declaration on arrival - I completely 110% understand why the deceleration was required and a doctors note requested, but it was a hassle trying to come to an agreement with the spa when we couldn t get the doctors note.
On arrival at the spa, the staff were friendly enough but didn t really explain anything - where the treatment rooms would be, what to do when it was our treatment time, what facilities were available, etc.
The actual spa treatment was really lovely for both myself and my Mum. My consultant was called Lucy & she was so polite and friendly and really explained the products to me afterwards. I wanted to buy her recommended products and I had a 20% off code for a Elemis directly online so didn t purchase at the spa as they couldn t use the code there (I did ask could the code be used and got an abrupt no).
The cleanliness of the pool was fine, the changing rooms and sauna/steam room area not so much. I fully appreciate there s a pool and a jacuzzi so people are going to be getting in and out all the time and it s bound to be wet but the floors were sodden in the changing rooms, the provided slippers the spa gave me were soaking through.
The lunch options were really limited and we was not offered a drink, I purchased them instead.
The biggest issue I had was the fact I had booked this to be a relaxing spa day and apart from the treatment times, the spa was absolutely manic with children. I felt like I was back at my local leisure centre. The website states Escape to the tranquil haven of The Forum Spa and feel your stresses ease away as you relax and unwind in a world of sheer luxury and indulgence - Not quite accurate. I don t have any problem with there being children present but not at spa day. The pool was absolutely full of children. They were using floats and splashing around and extremely loud. I did make a point to one of the receptionists that the website does state Please note that our health clubs operate an age policy of 16 and over for sauna, steam room and spa pool use and she told me between certain hours there s family swimming time - which is fine, but don t put on your website that there s an age policy if the pool is going to be full of children under the age of 10. I really wanted to give my mum a relaxing day and if the website had stated about family swimming times, we d have booked elsewhere.
The issue is (unless we just weren t told) apart from the spa treatment rooms & a small tranquil area with about 8 beds to take a lie down in, there s only the pool itself and the jacuzzi, sauna/steam rooms (which are right next to the changing rooms so when the parents are getting their kids ready to go into the pool or getting them changed afterwards, you can hear everything).
We d booked to eat at Steak on Six afterwards which was absolutely lovely, I highly recommend it and I ll review that separately.
A great place! So many things going on in here it is brilliant :). Not cheap but you pay for quality at the end of the day. Have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. Any events here are always top notch. Not many people can muster up complaints that stay here. And the few moaners only ever pick up meaningless problems .
Not up to 5 Star rating 3.5 at bestcharging for parking overnight for hotel guests is unacceptable food ok 10% service charge on everything. Golf courses ok but not up to Brabazon standards.
My wife and I have stayed there for every wedding anniversary of ours.
The rooms have always been immaculately clean the staff extremely helpfull and the food amazing, no matter if we ordered room service or had a dinner reservation.
I would highly recommend to anyone interested in staying there as our visits have always been more than we expected.
We stayed with my family over Easter holidays for three nights, the rooms were in appalling condition very dirty and mouldy bathroom. I had to personally dust the side table before using it. We had to contact the reception for toilet rolls! definitely not a five star resort it should be a two or three star.
Breakfast was very poor quality. The pastry station kept running out of pastries around 9:45am, I was told that they could not add anything more because they have run out of supplies. Tables were not laid out, we kept asking for cutlery.
The only positive outcome was a great service from the concierge team.
Stayed here 4 or 5 times now. Great facilities, friendly staff. Only downside is the size, it's huge!
Last 3 stays have been Awful and staff don't seem to care. Don't waste your money
Always a wonderful meal and breakfast at the the Olive Tree restaurant. Stayed for one night at the Manor House. Upgraded to a family room, with tons of space in it. Staff all wonderful and rooms furnished and maintained to a very high standard. Everything perfect even down to the use of locally sourced Welsh condiments and Elemis Spa toiletries which are my favourite from any hotel I've stayed in. Would highly recommend.
Excellent hotel. Staff were professional, friendly and approachable. Food was very very good. If you're worried about the cost of the restaurants, the olive tree buffet is hub quality!
Very nice place to stay & play golf.
Golf courses were great, but long up & down walks between holes.
The accommodation was absolutely fantastic and very comfortable. However, the food served at most of the events was just about acceptable and the selection of drinks was poor. No proper beer to be seen!
Another good stay but needs to be maintained a bit more as it looks dated a little ie corridor skirting boards scuffed from luggage cases balcony and canopies need jet washing etc
Lovely food. Lovely spa. Bed was super comfortable made to feel like royalty
Lovely atmosphere, superb afternoon tea. Staff very welcoming. Would highly recommend..
This place is fantastic for an overnight stay or just a perfect pit stop on the M4 for a relaxing drink or food when the traffic gets rough. Not cheap but brilliant value
Needs a refurb and cigarette ends need to be cleaned from the balcony
Ample parking with full facilities for a relaxing or business event.
The most beautiful place iv ever stayed I give it 10* staff amazing food amunities. Bed amazing rooms so quality tidy clean provide everything u need amazing can't wait till my next visit
Hotel was good. Dinner was really good. Very good size room. Breakfast was disapponitment. Broken shower door, broken toilet roll holder. It took 4 hrs to deliver the luggage.
Lots of noisy kids running around. Not suitable if you want relaxing holiday break.
Excellent hotel. Had a fantastic meal at one of the restaurantserving not so great at the other. Facilities are excellent expecially for the kids. Good clean rooms and staff helpful and friendly. Great stay
Everything about the Celtic Manor was amazing, the staff were very polite and really helpfull. Our room was outstanding and it as like shear luxury staying there. What a place, looking to book again.
What a place.. Fantastic experience had the presidential suite in the main hotel. Eat at 2 of the restaurants and food was great. Even managed to get to the cellar bar and have a couple of pints and catch up with the sport and watch the rugby. Grounds and views brilliant
What an experience went to see the great xmas tree in the foyer and model train set. Had a great time with the family so magical
Went for the 80s night with an over night
Stay, we all had a fantastic night .
It was great everybody friendly and nothing they would not do for you
I found some used condoms in my room, i recycled them by eating the milk inside. It was a nice snack.
Fantastic venue. Rooms lovely and comfy. Food and service amazimg too.
Service in the Mulberry bar was VERY slow, much better atmosphere in Merlin's
Had to do a photo booth there really nice even staff help with load in and out
Awesome, could nor find fault in any way. A five star resort, that I shall return too and highly recommend.
Went for works meeting. Brilliant facilities food and service was very good
Restaurants as xpensiv as wud xpect(lots of alternativs nearby tho;-)rooms&service xcellent&leisure facilities impecabl, recommended
We were upgraded when checking in. Staff were always polite and accommodating. Room was very nice and bed huge. Spa area is superb. Breakfast at the Olive Tree was fantastic, we were shown to our table and told where everything was. We had an excellent meal at Rafters in the evening and the courtesy bus was a godsend. On the whole we enjoyed our stay immensely and will definitely return.
Very good service and facilities. Buffet evening meals excellent.
I only visited to purchase some Gift Vouchers but received a good level of service which was delivered with a smile.
Lovley place. We played mini golf. Aso had the cream tea. Very nice place will be going back.
Huge hotel with plenty of activities. Housekeeping wasn't great but the room was comfortable and the staff were all very friendly.
Golf experience day with my golf group on the Roman road. Awesome day out
Great Resort an very friendly staff. Breakfast is available and should be taken.
I have stayed here many times and the staff are beyond amazing.. so friendly and helpful .. well trained and professional.. the food is fantastic as are the facilities, how anyone can not be happy with their Celtic Manor experience is totally beyond me !
The actual property is excellent but unfortunately the service and organisation has let us down on 2 trips. Maybe things will get better when the conference centre is finished.
Very big place. Car park entrance needs extra ights at night. Ticket expensive having already spent at of money there.
parking wasn't the best whilst building works going on.
Would not recommend a spa day at Celtic Manor. Disappointed with our visit and was definitely not five star quality as expected. There are many other spas in Cardiff which are much better quality at similar or lower price points. Lunch was a cold buffet with only water to drink in a small and over crowded cafe. Very small jacuzzi which was shut in the afternoon. The only pool turned into a kids splash zone in the afternoon - certainly not relaxing. Only redeeming factor was the lovely facial and spa technicians.
Over charged at Dillon's and Merlin's. Awaiting refund for that. Hotel bar closes at random times - 12pm one night, past 1am another - even when busy. Roman road was boggy and boarder line unplayable in places. Very expensive. Dated rooms.
Visited the Celtic manor for Afternoon Tea. The food selection was excellent and better than my other (albeit limited) experiences at other venues. Only giving 3 stars because although the staff were friendly and polite they seemed to struggle with a very busy Friday lunch service. Pot of Tea had gone cold in the 20 minutes before the first round of savory dishes was served and this became a theme. Overall good value for money though and would visit again.
Beautiful classic hotel with so much to see in and around the Celtic Manor with bars and restaurants to suit people of all ages and families truly worth a visit
Appalled....... Dirty room . Dirty cups. Cold food, poor service and ignored by staff. Made several complaints in writing. Called and left messages and never received call backs. Management not interested and didn't follow through on their promises. All in all I would not recommend nor would I return. My story is lengthy but have lost the will to type it all again. Stay clear....
The hotel is amazing food is great really relaxing stay staff are excellent
Really pleasant and lots of good facilities for everyone.
STAY AWAY ?
Tried to ring for over an hour (started at 07.55am) just to get information about a spa day for the wife's birthday.
Got cut of twice on the phone other phone numbers kept on saying we are sorry we are closed.
Then ask to speak to a Manger but not one was there.
It's nothing like the tv programme they had on last year.
I don't think Mr Terry Matthews would be very impress with no one answering the telephone.
That's bad for business.
I visited here for a work conference and the staff at check in were really helpful and friendly, parking was available too. My room was lovely and had everything we needed. The best was SO COMFY! The only thing I could say needs Improvement is the catering for vegetarians and vegans. There weren't any cows milk alternatives during the intervals. And the evening meals vegan option just wasnt to my liking. But the lunch time buffet was good. So at least I didn't go hungry.
I would stay here again, as I liked the look of the spa facilities, but didn't have time to use them around works timetable.
A huge golfing and catering resort. I am a wedding photographer and photographed a wedding here a while ago. I found the staff to be very professional and helpful. The venue has numerous different wedding spaces for small to huge weddings and at different price points. They are very happy to assist the photographer to get the best shots possible.
Do not visit, until they can get organised. Too many faults to mention. When I reported them to reception, i was told there was a pandemic on and they were very busy. I cannot understand what this has got to do with broken lights, damaged table etc!
Very clean and well thought out hotel, lovely room very quiet and peaceful. Loved the pool and spa facilities. A little disappointed with the food - expected a better choice and better quality for the price. On saying that breakfast was superb.
Amazing place to play golf, but there are lots of disappointing aspects to Celtic Manor. The clubhouse bar was appallingly tended, the sandwich in the clubhouse was completely stale, while the decor in the hotel was dated and I was given a connecting room next to strangers, which meant that I could hear everything that they were saying.
Good big place. Lots to.do. not cheap.but worth it.
Turned up to be turned away due to over booking of rooms, awful customer service
Booked into the coldra court after being told there was nothing the Celtic manor could do to only to wake up Saturday morning to find they charged us three times for a non existent room!
Coldra court has amazing customer service they need to ship more staff down to the coldra for customer service training
Photos posted are of coldra court
