We came for the afternoon tea, which was lovely, however I didn't like a lot of the savoury options and neither did the other people I came with. It took a long time to be seated and we were waiting around for ages when we arrived the exact time we were told to. We couldn't find the Olive Tree initially and found there was little signage and then at the end they tried to over charge me by 20%. Luckily the coffee and desserts were beautiful as well as the atmosphere.

Fabulous body scrub with a zingy lime and ginger product from Elamis. Then a super full body massage from Jane.
Good sauna and steam room although the door needs repairing as it catches on the floor making it difficult to open and close if you're not prepared for it

Stunning hotel in a beautiful scenic location, the staff are so helpful and there for you no matter what you need, the hotel is enormous, impeccably clean, professional, spacious and with great food and drink. The rooms and beds are fantastic. The onsite restaurants are fantastic especially steak on six, room service is amazing! The the gym is small ish for the size of the hotel but well equipped, the spa is great and relaxing, love the dryer for your swimwear afterwards. There is nothing I dont love about this hotel! Cant wait to visit again

Appalling treatment at the hotel and the gyms. Whilst some staff are good people, some snr managers are appallingly rude and contemptuous of members of the public who keep them in work. I was utterly disgusted with the CEO, Dylan Matthews' behaviour, and I will no longer use the Celtic Manor in any way, shape or form.

Perfect place to get away for a short one night break. Spa day was really good. The buffet in the evening was ok for the one night. All other restaurants are really expensive and alcoholic drinks are not cheap either. Best part of the hotel was the surroundings that you are in and the room was a comfy and cosy with good view out of the window. Also bonus of a complementary bottle of wine due to the occasion of our visit. (Worth telling them during booking if it is a special occasion). Overall I would return and take the family and possibly stay for a two night as there are also things to do as a family during the day

Enjoyed the buffet in the Olive Tree, though the acoustics of the annex meant we had to shout to have a conversation. Twice in the night the alarm went off and we had to evacuate, which was a long walk down dirty stairwells and underground carparks. One time there was a small fire, the other time a problem with resetting, we gather. Not best pleased. No concession or discount on future visits offered.

Excellent service as always. Stayed on the sixth floor in a Signature suite. Evening dinner at Rafters, an essential for every stay. Fine dining experience in the evening, followed by excellent breakfast again this morning. I have never had a bad experience here, and I will return again and again.

Stayed here in one if the signature rooms on the 6th floor. The room was lovely, spacious and came with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and Welsh cakes. The hotel facilities are excellent, with a great gym and spa. Parking is an additional fee, which I felt was a bit cheeky, but is convenient in the basement.

Great golf resort the 2010 course is very tough and a great test of golf, even from the yellow tees.
The Roman Road course wasn t quite as tough but some great holes and still a good test of golf.

It is always a pleasure to stay in the Celtic Manor.

There is a great choice of restaurants in the evening (although they are on the pricey side) along with a world class golf course.

Anyone looking for a romantic getaway to a spa hotel would do well to consider this one

Beautiful venue. Stayed for dinner bed and breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely with a great view. We only live a mile away but have stayed quite a few times.

Stayed here a couple of times, rooms ok, services, pool, sauna etc. Some woman on a harp in the huge reception, nice touch. I did get lost after getting sloshed in the bar one night though, wandering round the floors with two open bottles of wine looking for my room, until security picked me up. All looks the same when ure pissed. Charged me full cost of all the porn and films I put on only for a quick look, cost a bloody fortune at check out.

The room was excellent, the car park was far and not too luggage friendly, purchasing movies on the television was a nightmare, I ended up being charged twice for the same thing for the same period (got the refund), they gave me someone else's Bill with identifiable details @ checkout, but did overall experience in Wales.

Me and my girlfriend went to the hotel the weekend. Food was absolutely disgusting, we also got food poisoning, the room service is a joke. They added drinks on to our room when went to check out which we never had. Also when leaving we had to pay for parking when it says free parking on the website. Don t be fooled by the reviews these people don t know what a good hotel is. Countless people complaining in reception also. The lifts and very small so loads of people cueing to get in. 0 STARS

Our family treat. We don't come for the golf but for the service, the food, the atmosphere and the local shopping. Great staff. Always helpful and friendly. The best breakfast anywhere. Love it.

Been here 3 times for our wedd and twice for Valentine's Day, and is always excellent, staff can't do enough for you food is excellent and in my opinion not badly priced depending on which restaurants you go to (the grill and steak on 6 are our favourites). I strongly recommend booking a room with a meal as that seems to be the most cost effective solution if you want to treat yourself (and join the mailing list for special offers). Clean, organised, efficient, brilliant views and for our wedding everything went smoothly even when there were problems with our suppliers and he (Ashley) kept me up to date with everything and on top of everything.
On weddings i recommended the platinum package as you get so much more for not much extra (seriously compare it's silly and worth it gold I don't think so).
List of positives just goes on from the sheer wow value to the list of things to do on site which sadly I haven't had chance to do yet.
Negatives
There was one issue that slipped through that we should have seen but we were compensated and is currently being investigated so I won't mention it (seriously my wife even missed it).
Why they have friut shot in the adults only rooms is just a silly oversight or an odd contractual obligation, cans/bottles of coke/pepsi would have been the obvious choice.
There is a second pool on the grounds (in the first golf building with the marquee) that is quiter, larger but with less jacuzzis and speed dryer for swim wear (which it should have). It should be advised as this is nice if you'd prefer it quieter.
This is one of our favourite places to go and visit strongly recommended over and over.

We have stayed in the main resort before which was great but the manor house is a poor relation. Beautiful building which could be great but rooms tired, run down and in need of refresh. Breakfast selection is poor.

This is a fabulous resort hotel but spoilt by a lack of basic organisation. I have stayed on two ocassions as part of a group and on both ocassions there have been issues around pre booked services (spa treatments) and the allocation of rooms. Yes we have been compensated with upgrades and free Prosecco but it would have been better to have just received what had been booked in the first instance.

Stayed at Celtic Manor Resort 28th of June and as in the past everything was superb , but this time we tried Newbridge on Usk for your evening dinner, we were taken there by their transport and as we drove into the car park a beautiful sunrise ,the whole area is stunning and that was a start of a very enjoyable evening. Amedeo our waiter was second to none very pleasant , attentive and very professional, food was excellent would definitely recommend for really pleasant evening

Stayed at the resort to play the 2010 and the roman rd courses. All aspects of the stay were very professional and at at a level matching the price of the stay - not a cheap resort but just about acceptable for the level of service etc

Definitely not what I would call a 5 star hotel.

Definitely not what I would call a 5 star hotel.

Beautiful view of the motorway from our room and the road noise associated so couldn't sleep with the windows open. Air con in the room on its coldest setting couldn't keep the room cool. Mould in the shower, broken toilet roll holder and we were kindly left with 3 tissues stuffed into the top of an empty box in the bathroom.

Breakfast was average at best and couldn't even get a milk coffee made without paying extra.

If you want to feel like you're in an all inclusive hotel for the brits in spain without the all inclusive, sun or the beach then this is the place to go!
