Fantastic room with great view, good service, lovely spa. Great hotel for mini break, lots of activites available with good location just off M4.
Every activity was AMAZING. Activities cafe service was dreadful. Waited in a queue for 20 minutes just for 2 milkshakes. The queue was 4 people long (including myself). My lunch was late too!
Golf courses are great however they always seem to be incredibly wet, too wet to play in fact (balls plug in fairways etc.). The food and drinks are stupidly over priced and on this occasion the dinner at The Olive Garden and the breakfast in The Manor House were way below standard. We obviously raised our concerns while there and got pushed from pillar to post. Eventually, 2 days after returning home, we were offered free meals - which is great if you live nearby but surely a hotel attracts out of town people therefore a free meal isn't really worth having. You get what you pay for and there's much better value elsewhere (The Kendleshire for example). Won't be returning any time soon.
Good place to rum meetings and workshops -- exceptional catering!
Had my wedding here. It was fabulous. Great job they did!
4 star hotel, stunning looking courses. Unfortunately didn't get to play either one.
Fresh modern resort, good food availability and conference facilities
Fantastic hotel. Perfect service from start to finish. Meal at at Steak on 6 was perfect. Room lovely.
Was a great experience lovely staff and an incredible interior
The food in Rafters restaurant was fab. The staff can't do enough for you. Always a lovely atmosphere in the hotel
Very expensive , not worth the price . We wanted our room serviced ,but no one came . Parking charges for the guests is rediculous . I found it disappointing. Very stingy with breakfast , for a five star hotel.
My Son and I had a lovely relaxing time together in beautiful surrounding, excellent spacious room and very clean swimming pool/ changing rooms. Room service was exceptional as were the staff.
Amazing place, rooms are stunning and brilliant stuff
I have got to be honest even though we were only there for one night the staff treated us amazingly and I had such a good time, and upon hearing of our recent betrothal 2 days ago the guy serving us food managed to swing us a free bottle of wine very beautiful gesture
Thank you celtic manor you were awesome
Lovely welcome. Great service and absolutely fantastic food. Well presented and labelled. The only annoying thing is the chairs scrapping across the floor in the orangery everytime you get up. Horrible noise and when it's lots of people getting up at the same time, the noise is awful. Apart from that a wonderful way to dine for Sunday lunch.
Our food order was not taken to kitchen so we were waiting 50 minutes for our food to arrive. My pasta was missing half of be ingredients listed on the menu so I sent it back. When it came back it was watery and still missing ingredients (chilli!). Apparently the kitchen was too busy to change my order...I had to go out of my way to flag down staff to complain too. Not very tentative! Ruined a lovely day of playing mini golf.
One of the best hotels I've been too mainly due to the staff who are excellent!
Fantastic !!! From start to finish. Will defiantly be returning.
We used the tea time me time' experience with health facilities and an afternoon tea.
Extremely enjoyable and had a lovely time in great facilities
Attended a professional meeting at the venue - I highly recommend it. The facilities were excellent, the staff very professional and helpful.
I attended a family wedding evening party in the Beaumaris Suite. The rooms were very nice and the hot buffet was delicious with lots of choices. Quite a journey to the Suite but it was signposted well throughout hotel. There were plenty of staff ready to clear up as soon as you were ready for them. Lovely time was had by all
I've stayed at the Celtic Manor several times and the two most impressive things I've always found are the attitude of the staff and the quality of the food, and this stay was no different. The room on the otherhand, although nice, was More
Stayed on the signature floor, room was very comfortable with amazing views. We took part in a couple of activities from duck herding to gin tasting this hotel offers a lot. The staff were amazing too, would highly recommend this hotel and wow the food was fantastic. We ate at most of the restaurants and the newbridge was lovely. Great memories from this hotel.
Great visit this time and all the food was really on point which sometimes isn't there case. All this hotel needs a casino and a theatre and it would be like having a Vegas style hotel with everything in on your doorstep. Think the conference centre is an excellent addition to have the hotel busier which only help the hotel to move forward.
I work here at the celiac manor
And I love my job
Excellent hotel in superb location. Can't rate it high enough. Staff very helpful & pleasant.
Premier golf and hotel. First class fitness suites pools and Spar, great restaurants and dining.
You do pay premium prices. Was there with the family for a kids party. Fairplay was a good experience.
If you're visiting Wales has to be on a to do list
My Wife & I had a meal in "Steak On Six" last night and as before it was 1st class, A little problem with the steak not cooked enough but this was resolved straight away. A very professional restaurant & staff , "Keep the standards up guys "
Stayed at the Manor House sorry but not the cleanest place we have stayed in, they also gave us an ajoining room but we did not realise this untill we got back at night and heard next door was occupied and we could here everything going as if they where in the same room as us, not good, this room was supposed to have been an upgrade due to the messing about we had trying to sort out our booking, if that was an upgrade then I would not like to see the other rooms.
We went up for a couple of drinks before our evening meal but due to covid we had to order off an app which after half hour I gave up so went in to ask for a drink to be told I needed to use the app I did try explaining to no avail so we left and went to the other bar to be told again to use the app after another 15min i had enough went in and began to explain i had been trying for 45min just to get a drink to be told the app was not working and they will serve me shortly.
I have say the meal was very nice not much of a choice but what i had was lovely and the service was great, would I stay at the Manor House again no, would i come back and stay at the Celtic Manor maybe if I had a great deal as i would love to try one of the other restaurants.
Fantastic place
Friendly and welcoming staff right across the whole resort
And the courses are in tip top condition
Have been a golf member for one year and not over happy.
Unless you play every competition can't always get a tee time on your choice of course.
Bought a voucher from Celtic Manor via online as part of my wife's Christmas present, however they decided to post it addressed to my wife, even though it was paid by myself!!!, naturally she opened it as believed it was for her, emailed Celtic Manor for a response and not even an acknowledgement, couldn't even be bothered to respond, simple case that once they have your money that's it, one for the future not to be buying again from them, 5 Star.....I don't think so.
Excellent on every level. Rooms, staff, food, bar thanks again for a fab conference
Can't fault this place. Excellent accommodation and staff.
Designated check in for the signature rooms on the 6th floor was completely pointless as there was only 1 member of staff and a 15 minute wait. Chloe (I hope that is her name) was lovely, whilst obviously under pressure to get through everyone quickly. The room wasn t up to spec. We had to have the bathroom cleaned as there were long black hairs everywhere and very noticeable. Unfortunately we discovered them in the bed upon returning later that evening and didn t have the energy to complain. Mia and all the staff in the 6th floor lounge bar were great and hugely accommodating.
We had a family party booked for the weekend and had huge issues, which were partly resolved, but ended up in the Cen restaurant. Food was mediocre. Very little was hot and food had to be sent back. How a pre ordered meal for 15 can take the best part of 3 hrs in a half empty restaurant and still have lukewarm Thai green curry is beyond me. Staff seemed more preoccupied setting up for the breakfast service than looking after the actual customers in the restaurant.
To top it all off we had items added to the mini bar bill. All that could be said was that even just opening the fridge can cause the bottles/cans to move and an immediate addition to the bill. If I hadn t looked at the room charges out of curiosity I d have paid without thinking.
Lovely place staff really friendly, grounds and rooms are amazing.
Loved my visit to The Forum spa and my afternoon tea treat
A very posh review, and caters well to guests. But facilities can be a bit pricey for food and drinks etc.
If you can afford it then a great stay for blowing the stresses away.
We stayed in the barn which was stunning and there was transport provided to take is back to the main hotel
Had meal in the olive tree nice enough.
Went in bar for a drink piano playing which was dire.then a group of young fellas stayed by the bar all night singing shouting .we're not asked to keep noise down.until one stood on chair to conduct his lanes.didnt expect this sort of behaviour in a hotel of this standing.will think long and hard about going back.especially when they charge the prices they do.service was great.but didn't need the noise.can get that in Newport town centre at half the price.
Old fashioned service Lovely rooms. Food in buffet restaurant varied and good standard
Had a really lush time with my husband, great food and amazing drinks friendly service
My nephew and his new bride held their wedding reception at Rafters on 27th December, from the moment we arrived for the wedding breakfast to breakfast the next morning it was perfect, food was fantastic, staff were amazing especially the master of ceremonies. The hotel was extremely busy, we had to queue for breakfast but it was worth the wait. Thank you to the staff who served us at the wedding, day and evening, you were all brilliant
Dined in the Olive Tree; meal started poorly but improved at each stage through to dessert and cheese. Firstly the soup container was empty and I had to ask for the tureen to be replenished; secondly there were no soup spoons available and I had to ask for a spoon to eat the soup.
Nothing much to say. Just a great hotel and Spa. Restaurant food always good.
Super hotel, great staff, very friendly and helpful. Great food and amazing setting!
Took my grandchildren for afternoon tea and an audience with Santa. NEVER AGAIN !!! whilst the overall ambience was as you would expect for the resort the afternoon tea fell far short of a standard necessary to ever engage in such again. Stale marshmallows in the children's hot chocolate , they are shored to be soft and fluffy , you could have removed enamel they were that hard. The waiter served our sandwiches and cakes to another table , upon which he was hastily set upon by the head waiter who then ushered the guy toward the kitchen through one door to return through another with the same items. Disgusted!!!!! Sandwiches were stale cakes weren't anything special . We were promised warm scones with cream and jam which never materialised even though I reminded the greeter of such. Visit with Santa would have been quite pleasant if they had the ability to control the pushy parents who thought nothing of standing in front of my grandchildren so that they could get a photo of their protege, couple that with the flashing of the mobile phone cameras and my grand daughter who wears glasses found it quite uncomfortable. It would have been so much nicer if the organisers had asked politely that people put away their cameras and mobiles for a while. All in all I would advise to take your money and children to another venue until the Celtic Manor get their act together and cater for all customers. I for one will not return
Fantastic golfing venue, well worth ticking off your golfing bucket list
Nice. Extremely courteous service from manager of The Grill. Very helpful. Beautiful views.
Sod the hotel. Never stayed in there and never will. The golf resort however is horrendous. An absolute disgrace to Welsh golf. The funny thing is everyone thinks it s prestigious , i ve played better 3 par 9 hole courses. Everything about the experience is tragic, just a sad money pit. Green fees overpriced and then unless you re in a 4 ball you re expected to share your day with 2 random people that you couldn t care less about. Any complaints the manager Paul takes to heart acting like he made the place with a pick and shovel. The pace of it is slow, etiquette seems to be an alien concept to these people. Great for a big corporate day out if you really couldn t care less about the human race, however if you re an avid golfer it s the worst place you could dream of going.
Had an anniversary meal at the Olive Tree. Very nice selection of food.
What a beautiful place, friendly staff throughout very relaxing atmosphere. Also booked in for afternoon tea amazing food really enjoyed my pamper day there....
Would definitely stay here again. 1 of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
Overrated and over priced. Overall food is nasty and outdoor lighting is poor
Terrible terrible service. Went to the Grill at the golf club. Food was Ok, initial service was reasonable. but desert and coffee 1.5 hrs to arrive !!! Did the manager apologies, did he hell, he was rude, incompetent and looked unclean.
Attended the spa on a guest pass. Loved the Jacuzzi, steam room, etc. Had a fab relaxing time with friends
