The only reason this place is so nice is because most people are doing their part to keep it clean and funded. Remember that real people put in real work and real money to maintain the trails, so make sure you donate if you can and don t leave a mess. If you let your dog poop on the trail without picking it up and leave litter everywhere, you don t deserve this place. You are just as good as the trash you leave if that s the case. Shoutout to the people I saw picking up industrial bags full of trash in the heat. Y all are amazing!

If you're looking for hills, this place has them; steep annnd gradual.
Plus a lot of the trails connect to each other in some way so you can create your own route each time which is great because I've been on those one's too where the route becomes unappealing after a time. There's plenty of shady areas if you need a break or are concerned about heat exhaustion. Parking seems available and don't pass up the opportunity to donate to the preserve as often as you can. Please pick up after your pets.
Go and enjoy yourself like I did!

Beautiful, perfect, will go again. But don't forget your jewelry in the bathroom after washing your hands. Someone stole my favourite ring. The staff there was kind and helpful, trying to help me find it.

Best workout ever. Trails can be a little tough at first, as I didn't know what to expect but you'll definitely feel a sense of accomplishment if you keep returning. Recommend a hydration pack as it makes the hike easier. You will go up and down hills and stairs and rocks so be prepared with good grip shoes.

Used to be a great escape, but now you'll constantly encounter people blaring music on bluetooth speakers. It's become very busy anymore. Trails are kept up really well though, and Cedar Ridge Break is the only thing with any kind of elevation to it in the area.

Pretty trails of varying levels of difficulty. Weekend mornings are extremely crowded but they do a good job of coordinating parking and once your on the trail the crowd thins significantly

These trails finally made the Dallas area feel like home! I missed rolling hills in Austin and the different mountain hikes in San Diego... the trails are all different lengths and most have great coverage from the Texas sun! My dog Tex boy loves them too

Always enjoy coming here with the kids. They love being outdoors and walking along the trails. We have yet to finish going thru any trail. We always get tired and end up turning around at some point. But still always a good time. Never too crowded.

Best hiking trails in DFW! Whether you're looking for a causal stroll with easy terrain or more challenging steep grades, you'll find it at Cedar Ridge. Occasionally, after inclement weather, they have to close Cedar Brake and Fossil Valley trails. The hike down to the gazebo on Cattail Pond is well worth it.

Very beautiful and clean hiking trail for all ages. Thanks to the trees, you re not exposed to the sun very much. I went on a Tuesday around 3:30 and it wasn t as crowded when I started. Toward me leaving at 6, there was very little parking available on site. Overall, I loved it!!

Wonderful place to take a walk. Different trails to choose from. Have benches where you can stop and rest if needed. Enough parking.
Today was a wonderful time to come hiking. I did 3 miles and it was worth it.

Beautiful, breathtaking. Quiet and pleasant. Just another reason why I like Joe Pool lake. Easy or as technical as you want your hike to be. Pleanty of trees to break from the sun. Ample bathrooms. Handicap access. This is truly set up for everyone to use and get a taste of nature.

Great variety of shades hiking trails to choose from. Bring lots of water and be prepared for steps leading up and down in elevation. Go as soon as they open or be prepared to park at the Park in the Woods Rec Center. There's special trail that leads to the park just behind the rec building.

It's a nice place it's according to the sign that said 10 acres of walking trails or hiking trails the only problem I had with it is that they don't have it posted very well of which way is which cuz we kind of got lost and they need to put better postings at the end of trails of which way the parking lot is which way what trail is they don't have a very good sign system to walk

This place gets pretty busy on the weekends, even by 7:30. But it's just about the closest place to trail run in Dallas with elevation. Parking may fill up in the big parking lot, but you can park on the side of the entrance road.

Really enjoyable place to take kids. Long and short hikes. Dog friendly too. Would be helpful to have photos of poison ivy and other poisonous plants to teach the kids what to steer clear of.

My favorite local place to run trails. The trails are well maintained and the scenery is beautiful. It can get pretty crowded at times and parking can be a problem, but overall a very worthwhile experience.

Great place to hike, jog, or even run. With multiple trailers to choose from or combined depending on your endurance, this trail has it. From rocky drops, to step natural stair climbs, to wooded and open areas this trail gives your a great workout in a two mile trail. I'd you like the outdoors... this tail is for you.
