I love hiking this trail, I have been a few times and it is always a new experience. I went one time while it was wet, and that was not the best, very muddy and slippery but still fun. My shoes didn't enjoy it much though lol.

Excellent trail with options for the whole family. Whether you're looking for a half mile stroll or a 10 mile hike, this park has it all. Trails are well maintained and easily accessible.

I really enjoy hiking here, it s pretty much the only hike I can find that actually has some what of an incline. However I live about 45 min away and this is the second time I drove there and they were closed. Both days on fridays in the morning. I checked their website to make sure they were open and also checked other people s posts that were just a few days to make sure they were open. Who Evers in charge PLEASE UPDATE YOUR SITE ON CLOSURE DAYS!!!!

What a great place for an adventure! We hit the trails on a nice Saturday morning and the trails were packed with people that had the same idea! I loved that the paths were not paved the terrain is rough, slippery, and challenging in spots. And it was great! We went on a short two mile loop and the pup was exhausted...

The trail is not so fantastic a view - your average wooded trail. However, it's really fun, and there's a pretty descent view.

However, the trail itself is fantastic. Very fun, flowing, and moderately challenging path. You have the option of a 3, 8, and 12 mile trail. We had biked all the way to the park instead of driving, so we opted for the 3 mile one.

Overall wonderful experience, and a solid 5/5 biking trail. Not for people who are here to enjoy the view, but for those in it to enjoy the ride.

Wonderful place to visit especially when you live inside big city limits. The trails are great for exercise or just plain taking a break from the busy life. Invest in some good hiking shoes/boots. Great for solo or group excursions!

There are numerous trails to hike to get a good workout. I always take my dog with me, and often will spend the day there taking pictures and getting away! It's easy to get caught up in the beauty and forget there are freeways surrounding this wonderful patch of nature!

This was my 1st time here and I was pleasantly surprised by the trails. I thought it would be mostly flat, but the changes in elevation were actually pretty steep and the trails were all clearly marked. There were a lot of people with dogs, so definitely bring your pups if you're thinking about it. The trail was also very clean; I only saw 1 plastic water bottle the entire 5 miles I hiked. If I was forced to choose a negative, I would say the restrooms could use a little bit of an upgrade, but that's being kind of nit picky for a place like this. Overall, a nice little gem in Dallas for nature lovers.

My absolute favorite place to go. I've been coming here for 15 years now. Best time to come is around 11am or 1-4pm after 5 forget about it, parking is hard to find and becomes very congested. Other then that amazing place to get away.

I love it.

Can't wait to come back

Need a good challenge to your routine? One of the many trails available here should do the trick. Steep climbs, loose grabel...tall about great training for some of these races! But the best part is some of the scenic views!

Great views and easy to challenging hikes for all ages. I encourage everyone to see for themselves. Don't forget to bring a few dollars for the donation box, it helps with the upkeep of the grounds.

One of my favorite things to do is come here and take a walk. The park is well kept. The scenery is beautiful. I love that it has out look towers. There are many different trails so I don't get burnt out seeing the same view every time. Definitely a great place

We went hiking here as a family the day after Christmas - loved how this area doesn't even look like Dallas. The rolling hills and trees look more like what you would see around Kentucky. There are easy enough trails here to do with toddlers in tow. DO NOT bring a stroller, it won't work on the trails here, but luckily we have a carrier. There's a nice overlook on some of the trails that gives you a beautiful view of Joe Pool lake, good place to stop for a snack with the kiddos. Plenty of benches and well marked trails.

I have ran a lot of different hiking/biking trails in the DFW, and this by far is my favorite so far. I use to run here 1-3 times a week for the last couple years, but recent knee injuries have slowed me down to the flatter river legacy trails. This park has roughly just over 10 miles of complete trails with a lot of hill climbs, a large valley, and few streams/creeks that run through the reserve. This place was my sanctuary for the longest time, and I plan on going back to it on a regular basis asap.

One of the best spots for day hiking in DFW. Easy and Moderate routes with manageable elevation changes for novices. Get there early in the morning because the parking is limited. Arriving after 9AM may mean you have to park down the road and walk to the trail head.

I'm rating this place with a 5 star rating. However, very reluctantly! This use to b "my little secret!" But, not anymore. It's popular for a reason. If ur looking for a fun family outing/activity u have to make this a forever part of ur family's fitness festivities! It's exhilarating, and worth the effort. U'll thank me later...

Incredible natural space, with tons of hiking trails, loops, as well as a cat tail pond! The views are AMAZING and it is quite refreshing to see a few actual hills, hidden in the ordinarily flat city. Also, a Great way and place for some cardio training, as the terrains are varied - one of the few remaining wilderness areas in Dallas, a definite gem. Go check it out!! Get some nature in... Dogs are welcome, must remain on leash, ans would totally enjoy the hike.. ENJOY!!!

Beautiful piece of nature so close to Dallas. Be forewarned, this is not like the other DFW parks with concrete "trails". This preserve has true dirt trails and real hills. Wear good footwear and be prepared. There are easier paths in the park, Bluebonnet is easy, out and back on the escarpment is easy. Circling the pond and hiking the Fossil trail will test couch potatoes but it is used frequently for trail runner training so definitely doable. Great walk with the dogs.
