Got a great hike in. Was visiting Dallas for work, got stuck here over the weekend because of the tropical storm hitting Houston, so I needed to find things to keep myself busy. This was a beautiful park, with very good trails. It was a bit challenging, but in a good way. Everything seemed well maintained as well. I'll be back again!

Beautiful unspoiled nature trails along a ridge and valley. Challenging hike, but still doable with kids as the overall length isn't extensive. Most of the loops 1-2 miles depending on the route taken, so a fun day or afternoon. Be sure to bring water and stacks for kids especially on the hotter days!

Talk about a wonderful experience!! Everyone is so friendly and greeting. They have restrooms you can use and water fountain. Pet friendly! And so many trails and things to look at! Definitely a place to go and have an adventure with the whole family or friends! I will keep coming back to this place for as long as I can!

I've been coming to this place since 2003 and it just keeps getting better. They have a variety of trail lengths and difficulties so there really is something for everyone. The lookouts on some trails are a nice touch and offer beautiful views of Joe Pool Lake and the surrounding landscape. There is plenty of parking. One downside is that it can get pretty crowded when the weather is nice. Also, some people blare loud music while hiking. If this is you, do us a favor and get some headphones.

I was impressed on how people really was keeping safely away from others. There was a truck selling flavored ice. After a group purchase he got out and cleaned the outside of the truck, very impressed with that. Had a great time!

Was nervous about the rattlesnake signs, but we didn't see any! Loved that hike! You have different trails to take! I would suggest going with someone that knows the way through it so you don't get turned around!

Great bit of nature in the middle of a sprawling metropolis. There were several outlook places to see said sprawling metropolis. I went just before sunrise and was able to get a parking spot. However when I left an hour or so later it was pretty packed.

The wider trails are chat or mulch with the narrower trails being rock and dirt for the most part. Many wooden bridges throughout the trails. The trails are a loop and have markers every 0.1 mile which identify direction to the trailhead. Each trail is named and well labeled for distance one you reach it from the main trail.

I ran on the trails and saw only one or two other people running. Most were hiking/walking. Only a few people with dogs.

There is a washroom at the entrance to the park.

This place is one of the best in DFW area for hike, it s not that sunny to hike here because of the greenery. There are all levels of trails here. Due to covid I use my mask most of the time while hiking and Every time when I pass anyone. Just carry a bottle of water and energy drink (if you need) and this place is perfect for a day hike!!!!

Some of the best hiking around Dallas is found here. Lots of mature trees, various birds and wildlife, dog friendly, and shade covered trails that can also be pretty challenging. This place is a gem.

Beautiful place in the DFW metropolitan to get a gorgeous hike in. Around here it's hard to find raw beauty and dirt (not paced) hiking paths. This is the place!! :) Don't wear your fancy clothes here, get ready to hike (well, Texas hiking ) when you come!

Great place for a walk, hike, jog, or run. You can get a really intense hike or run in with lots of elevation change or for a casual walk stay on the main trail all the way to the overlook and you won't be disappointed. I've been going to these trails for years, near 30, and in the last few years the popularity has grown so much that if you are going on a weekend you better get there early or your walk from the car to the trailhead will be longer than what you do on the trail.

GREAT place to hike!! There are several different trails with different levels of skill. This can easily be a short, quick hike or turn it into an all day event! Dogs were on the trail and there are water stations scattered throughout.

When I first discovered the hikes(6 years ago), it was empty and clear walking room. Now its over crowded and you're constantly bumping into others back to back. Its good for walking now, no more jogging.

It is a good place because the walks are long and it has beautiful landscapes. Lots of nature. It has a section for children to walk and has different routes to go on walks. There are parking lots. There are hills "2" and a small lagoon. It has benches to rest. It is a good experience especially with family.

This is a great place to get away from everything and everyone and just disconnect and become one with nature. Great scenic views, always run into nice people while hiking and always feel SNATCHED(fit) when I finish my hike

One of the few places we've found that's a little more rugged: dirt, stone, and wood chip paths, actual elevation changes. We really enjoy the scenic nature, small creeks, great views. Make sure to bring water, some of the paths are shaded more than others and it can get very hot. There are a few places that it is possible to wade in the water, though be prepared for it to be quite chilly, especially outside of the summer months.

Best preserve I've been to yet. It has residential entrance close to civilization. Oh but how quickly you forget you are in a city. My family has enjoyed for several years including my son hiking the trails since he was 2.

So disappointed today.

So disappointed today.
I went there today and drove for 1 hour then I saw the gates to the public park is closed. I was lucky to see the ranger of the park. He said we closed because there was too much raining!! I was there because the weather was not too sunny and not hot and they had closed it just because of that!!! can you believe it?! I won't think I would ever drive that far to go there. bye bye cedar ridge.

Great place for family outings. Sunset is good for photography too. Good hiking trails. Have an offline map on your mobile and get deep into the woods. It's fun to get lost. Go around the river bed and you can see some good views uphill. Also try camping here. Bring some beans, meat and get down with primitive camp base. Some barbeque and a dope night under the stars. At the late night look up for the milkyway galaxy.

Beautiful hiking location not too far from Dallas. Have a great variety of hiking paths you can take, regardless of your activity level! Was packed on Christmas when we went but still feels spacious, open, and peaceful. Amazing naturesque location amidst a busy city! Beautiful colorful berries along the way!

Hands down the best free trails in the area, hilly trails and flat prairie trails for all ages and difficulty. Easy to park and with restrooms at the beginning of the trail are nice. Look outs as well as a small catch and release pond are nice amenitys as well.
