Purchased a unit through bestbuy for work purposes - the unit came defective and was never inspected before being shipped out to myself. The shipment actually came with handful size dust bunnies and missing components. There was items missing from the order. The odd part about this was the empty packaging for the items was placed in the shipment.
I worked with CDI in a patient and calm manner to have these issues corrected however they kept delaying the process and providing false information which caused many different inconveniences.
Many of the emails went unanswered or the actual concerns in the emails went unanswered.
In the end they had offered $20.00 as a resolution to multiple trips to their location, phone calls, emails for the errors they made on all levels
Although the company states they stand to provide excellent customer service, they end up just brushing things off.
Probably worth shopping elsewhere for your needs

I have purchased many products from CDI over the years. The customer service was excellent, and the quality of the products were great. Things have really gone downhill the last year or so in terms of quality service, and the products they deliver. Orders used to get shipped and filled within 1-2 days, and now they have 8-10 day backlogs. Extremely disappointed with what this company has turned into. All the reps and customer service team do is provide lip service and claim they have to jump through hoops to get things done.
Update Feb. 2020 80% of the workstations I purchased last year had some type of hardware issue within a year. From power supplies, to hard drives, and processors. I do not bother contacting CDI, because they will make me wait two weeks to get a replacement shipped out.

these people are bunglers... wrong computer, no response to voice mail and a bounce back on the service email post on the web. amazing....amazingly poor....3/18/19 Update... receive a polite call and prompt response, so apparently they way to contact them is via email and not phone.
it took a while but they got their act together and they were very responsive and helpful.
These guys have been calling me for years to buy computers. About six months ago, I bought over 100. The price was good and they were for Dell Optiplex machines so a pretty good machine. We've had issues with over 20 of them and the follow up has been terrible. They sounded like they wanted to fix the issue at first but nothing has ever happened. Definitely wouldn't recommend these folks. They don't seem to stand behind their products.
I am highly disappointed i brought a computer through internet essentials waited 3 weeks for it only to get a bootlegged computer that wont work unless being charged im so stressed and irritated
I purchased a laptop online on May 6. On the website they claim that a tracking number will be emailed after 2 days. I never received a tracking number and I called back on May 16 as well as today and there is STILL no tracking number. The customer service representatives today were unhelpful and seemed irritated that I was unwilling to wait another week to maybe get a package if I couldn t a tracking number until MAYBE Monday. Then I asked for a refund and was told it will take 3-5 business days to process a refund. I FEEL that because the program is marketed for low income individuals that the CSR s treated me as such. I ve NEVER dealt with a retailer that treated me this way and I ve NEVER been made to feel so small.
I ordered a computer off them and they didn t send me and invoice, a tracking number or the right desktop. Then their solution was to send the right hard drive but without the sata cable and mounting hardware necessary for installing the hard drive. I had also bought a graphics card compatible with this computer second hand that was non refundable. After all the hassle, their solution was for me to send the unit back as an RMA and lose money on my graphics card, and on shipping fees. It was the worst customer service i ve had in decades, please think twice when buying a computer.

Terrible. I bought a refurbished computer for my mother inlaw for an Xmas gift. The first one was late arriving and didnt get there till after neew years, when it was ordered 2 weeks before xmas. And then it did not work well when she finally received it, cd drive only opened when it wanted too. Had to send it back and got another in return that was worse than the first.
Stay away from these guys and there refurbished computers. What a joke.
Really bad customer service. They used Comcast name to sell their stuff but don't provide same service. Promised call back and didn't call back. Didn't answer emails. I would recommend stay away from this place.
worst company to deal with, such bad customer service, they don't even bother to respond to calls or emails, computers did not work at all, they sell damaged goods, prices are higher as compared to other companies, do not buy anything from here, would not recommend anyone to buy anything from here.

If you like getting calls at odd hours on your personal cell phone, then go ahead and shop at CDI Computer Dealers. If you prefer doing business with professionals, who honor the USA National Do Not Call list, then you will want to avoid CDI Computer Dealers.
Bottom line, it sucks dealing with CDI these days. It is a sign of a company in disarray and decay. And I am very sad it has degenerated in to the company it is today. CDI used to be a good company, which provided good products coupled with excellent customer support. I used to buy ten$ of thousan$ every year. Over the years, they endured high staff turnover and a degradation of the quality of their service. They rarely return calls. Especially the most urgent ones. Bids are held in secret, which means the highest bidder does not necessarily win. They do not provide shipping cost info in advance on the bid document. They simply add it to the invoice in the end, which at times shock you. They short ship orders. Except one, or two individuals, the upper echelon prefers to ignore a problem by flustering and frustrating the customer than resolve it hands on.

Bought a refurbished laptop from them on Best Buy.
The laptop wasn't working properly and they sent it back to me still not repaired twice. Their technicians weren't able to repair it properly, they made me waste my time for 2 months and in the end I was forced to get a refund.
Customer service talk to you like you know nothing and they know everything.
I ordered a refurbised laptop from them over BestBuy. It took about 10 days to arrive. I ordered one with 240gd SSD drive and it came with a 168gb instead. Poor service and wrong order.
Horrible service, and support! Bought a refurbished Optiplex 990 with Windows 10. Windows does not support Windows 10 and there are challenges getting updates. Service Rep could not advise if I should update the Bios as the Dell website advised and said I "may not want to just for the sake of doing it. The computer might not come back" I think he meant boot but it was a hard conversation to follow. GO ELSEWHERE!
Had an excellent experience with their customer service. Purchased a refurbished laptop through best buy last january, and they were very kind when I took advantage of the warrenty 11 months later for a battery issue. Shipping it over from BC was easy and stress-less and customer service reps were always supportive and kind.
Love buying computers and monitors here! It's for businesses generally however if you are in need of a few systems they will accommodate usually for personal use. Being local is ultra convenient. I have bought stuff here for alot of different businesses and I have always been happy with the price and options.
2nd time. they have done the mistake. Very inefficient and poor service. Sent me Window Home edition than Pro. Took 3 days to call me for New Computer. Drove Brampton to Markham. Guy on front desk has no idea! Gave a sitting loose computer and old keyboard ,mouse with Window Pro. came home and started the computer and it says your Window is Not active due to Non-valid digital license.
Worst product and customer experience. Best buy is losing its Goodwill due to these Vendors. Will never buy anything again and not recommend!!
I have been buying refurbished laptops and pcs from CDI for the past ten years. I have always been having with both the quality of the computers and the customer service. I recommend them on a regular basis.
I purchased a computer for resale on June 23rd 2017 (a Friday) and delivered it to my customer on June 27th. It came back to me on June 21st 2018 (a Thursday) with what appears to be a hardware issue. I contacted them on June 27th and they refused to cover it stating that it was paty warranty. Since I bought it on a Friday I wouldn't have received it until at least Monday (the 26th). The computer in fact has a dead mother board. Vary disappointed with their decision. The sales person didn't even bother contacting me after the decision. Update July 6th. After contacting BBB they have agreed to repair the computer. Let's see what happens.
I bought a refurbished laptop and it is painfully slow. Also the computer does not hold a charge. I spent $150 money I could have used towards a new laptop. Do not waste your money.
Update: I called customer service and they sent me a replacement laptop that works great!! If you have issues with your laptop please give them a call, they have really good customer service and they want to make sure they provide you with a working computer. I was just going to take this as a loss but when I called customer service they were able to help me. If you have any problems with your computer call them, they can help you.
Bought a refurbished monitor on STAPLES website (no references of conditions or notes that the monitor will by supplied by a different company) - the order came from the CDI. The monitor was functional but it was in a "very used" conditions with the stand from a different model, missing cable cover and wrong cable. Called CDI and they said that all of it are "accessories" and might be missing or replaced by suitable parts - they do not care as long as the monitor is working. I was offered to return the monitor at my expense. End-up getting an apology and promise to send a new cable.
