Great brews, and a good atmosphere, but dont go there if your hungry and time is a factor at all. Appears that a broom closet was converted into the "kitchen" with one cook. Also, while at the bar waiting for a sample, "bartenders" would regularly look at me and walk by when I would have an empty glass. I didnt appear to be the only person either.( and it wasnt busy)

Move over Southern Tier... CB Craft Brewers is here. My wife and I have only been to the pub (brewery) a few times to enjoy the draft beers but I've been purchasing it in stores for over a year now. At the pub we enjoy their flights to get a nice variety of what's brewing. Bottom line is we really enjoy the beers regardless of how we get them. I enjoy a good hoppy beer and my new favorite is the Caged Alpha Monkey. I also like the Mokumba Double IPA but don't find that one often in stores. (hint, hint) I did recently find the Primate Pack which is a variety mix if you haven't tried CB yet then I'd recommend start with that one. Keep up the good work folks.

After a recent visit, I have rewritten an older review. Although, CB Craft brewers is still a good place for fresh craft beers, it is no longer the same. I understand trying to move a business forward, but to abandon some of the great beers that you built your reputation on is more than disappointing. Specifically, Bonobo, a great Hoppy session IPA, and Silverback, an awesome imperial IPA. I will no longer be going out of my way to stop here. At least they still offer Caged Alpha Monkey!! But??????

Service was okay. The food was the worst we EVER experienced... The sour dough bread was white toast... If you REALLY like tons of garlic salt on your has Brown's then you might be able to eat them.. Ewwww!! Garlic salt on H B 'S???? They use the smallest eggs for breakfast. Back to Critics where the food is great and reasonable.

Went on a saturday night, waited half an hr to get food order taken, an hr for our app which was chips and dip and almost 2 hrs for our food which was a cup of mac and cheese (which was good) and a burger that really wasnt. I ordered a root beer and they forgot it, then towards the end of our 2 hr visit i ordered a refill and had to remind the waiter bc he forgot again.

Awesome beer selection, but the root beer is where it's at. Staff members are friendly and seem to enjoy laughing with you while you're tasting. The food has usually been good and if there is any legit complaint the issue is addressed. Never a bad experience.

CB Craft Brewers is a historic staple in the Rochester Beer Community. CB offers a constantly innovative beer selection (headed by the creative & awesome Head Brewer), the unique brewery & taproom (with great events) and providing delicious food options. I am proud to represent them as an Outside Rep and I cannot wait to see what CB's future holds.

Excellent food, excellent beer. Their brews are simply to die for, they always have excellent service, they're always busy but they move through the crowd quickly, and the little dining area is a great place to bring a date.

Severely disappointed in my visit to their tasting room today. Only modestly busy but service incredibly slow and most of the employees looked disinterested. I wasn't the only visitor who had this opinion, as the people standing next to me were commenting within their group how slow the service was. I was looking for at least a "be with you in a minute" but not even that. Decided that there is plenty of good places to drink craft beer, so after 10 minutes left without tasting anything.

Went for dinner and left after 1 beer. I've only ever been there once for just beer and it was OK. I've had better CB brews on location at different restaurants. Their selection this weekend wasn't very appealing to me, but that's subjective so that's not really where the poor rating comes in, though it didn't help.

The restaurant "area" (4 or 5 tables only) was ridiculous. Moreover the customer service in that area. We arrived Saturday evening and saw that it was full - to be expected! The waitress/hostess said "20-30 minute wait". Fine. Not a problem. My friends and I got a drink and sat outside. We even went back in to let her know we were outside whenever she was ready for us. Again, no problem. 30 minutes goes by. 40 minutes goes by. 50 minutes goes by ... nothing. No update, no one checking on us. At 55 minutes I went in and asked for an update. The girl SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS and told me that the people who have our table were done eating but they were just sitting and chatting. Um. Ok? Well, you can't force them out, I understand, but you could have offered us a drink to keep waiting? Maybe a free appetizer? Maybe an alternative table? Nothing. No offer of anything. Not even another wait estimate.Just a shrug. I told her we were leaving because at this point, it's been over an hour and we're starving. She honestly could have cared less. Never tried to stop us or offer an alternative. I guess our business wasn't worth much. Too bad - I've literally been so excited to come down and try this out. Staff needs C/S training.

Overall, this brewery has potential. Food was good. Drafts were delicious. Aesthetic was pleasing. However, the poor aspect of CB Craft Brewers that my group had the misfortune of having was one particular bartender that sadly soiled our experience. The moment I stepped in, this white-haired, tall bartender (I didn't catch his name) greeted me. Being our first time at the brewery, I asked him what was good. His response: "Beer". Okay, thank you for a zero direction in showing me what your establishment is proficient at and proud of making. I brushed it off and we proceeded to order some samples. I should also mention that you would be wise to think twice before purchasing one of their gift growlers. The moment we mentioned we had 1 and a free tasting card, the same bartender was immediately disinterested in serving us as attentively as the other guests. I should mention that we did purchase additional appetizers and drinks. The bartender was also extremely condescending when I told him we were there for my buddy's birthday. I guess I should feel flattered that we appear younger than we actually are, because the entire evening, he kept I.D.ing us and refused to believe we were of the legal drinking age. His exact words when I mentioned my friend's birthday (who was turning 23, I should add) was, "Oh, do you have a tiny little card that can prove that to me?"... Reading this, you might not think it was that insulting, but the condescending tone he gave us was very unprofessional. Also, I would caution you not to give the impression that you are too excited and enthusiastic about being there, because the moment I asked the bartender for a second tasting, he proceeded to tell me to "chill out, man. This is a chill place. You city folk just gotta coooool down."...I had made no impression of anger. We were all very patient with this guy...but he apparently didn't appreciate our effort to cooperate and support their business. This all sounds pretty rough, but again, it was all really centered around this one really terrible bartender, which, unfortunately, was our first impression of the place. I would give them a second chance.

The lady in the green shirt. She cut me off right at the perfect time. Those IPA beers sneak up on you. And she didn't make me feel like a douche bag either. She was very nice. And 15 minuites later i got a ride home. The food is about as good as the beer..... And the beer is good. So.... In conclusion. Listen to the bar keep. And enjoy the music. Thanks for a good time! I'm a local, and I admit this may be giving CB a little bump. The beers are generally very good. Bring or buy growler(s) to be filled. Wish food was available more often. If you like IPAs, try Alpha Monkey, Silverback, and Three Heads.

Went on a Saturday night. Lots of people outside, few inside. Our group sat at the bar and thought maybe the blonde bartender that was standing there would wait on us. Nope! She kept talking to 2 customers for 45 minutes and couldn t even be bothered to look at us.
The only one that actually came and waited on us was helpful and actually filled our glasses was helpful and kind! She apologized for her coworkers actions while trying to get by the blonde bimbo (our words- not hers) just standing there. If it wasn t for her we probably wouldn t have been waited on! After the blondes conversation finally ended she went on the other side of the bar and ate for 15 minutes. We tipped the girl that actually waited on us well, but she said she had to split tips. I very loudly said how unfair that was when her coworkers didn t help us once! We may come back if the blonde isn t there to ignore us!

For months I had been kicking around the idea of visiting CB Craft Brewers. Making the journey would be a 70 mile round trip on a Saturday to sample IPA's and lunch at this renowned regional microbrewery. It fit the agenda on my birthday.

The dining area is very limited and obviously not the focus of their effort for public sales. The main focus seems to be the large bar used for tastings. An adjacent retail area was small and limited in it's offerings While the Food and Wait service was above average, I expected more of an experience with regard to brewery touring and for beer purchases for later consumption. The retail aspects of the experience leave a little to be desired.

With my Wife volunteering as the designated driver for the ride home, I decided on six brews to sample with a "Monkey Burger". The CB Caged Alpha Monkey and Three Heads "The Kind" were topnotch standouts. The CB Funky Monkey -a special edition IPA was good too. Most of the brews at "CB"can be purchased locally at grocery outlets that feature craft beer. The Monkey burger was messy and delicious, with sliced pickled Jalapenos and a very tasty garlic-horseradish-cheese sauce. The spicy Mac N' Cheese was cheesy and good.

Although I enjoyed the meal and beverage, I was disappointed to discover that the "Discover" credit card was not welcome for payment. This limitation was not advertised and I feel it to be a limiting factor for future visits. No Discover cost them any return visit business from me.

The retail store side was severely limited. I hoped to see a variety of beers for sale. To my great disappointment there was little retail available. There was a refrigerated case with sauces and some Caged Alpha Monkey 12 packs, some clothing stacked on some sparse shelves, and a rack with a few 22 oz. "Three Heads" varieties. I am guessing the tasting bar (which seems to be the main attraction) sells growlers, but there was little point of promotion.
