We went here to see a friends gig & had a good time :) The place has cool unique decor which works well, and good vibes. Unfortunately the gig room was pretty much the temperature and humidity of a sauna, and after asking a number of staff managed to get the answer that they lost the air conditioner controller, and they would look for it and turn it on. No such thing happened, and by the end of the night the whole room, audience and performers were so sweaty & unpleasant - not the optimum environment for performing artists & your dear paying punters! :(

I did not enjoy this place..The vibe was off and they lied about the price of entry.. Its not free..which would have been fine if they were up front about it.. Right off the bat I was badgered for money I didn't have on the condition of entry.. And the bar staff at the time was rude as heck.. Very condescending and rude making assumptions and acting entitled based on what I was wearing.. I went to the comedy night on a bank holiday whivh I was informed after was an unusually quiet night but there was no excuse for the compere to pick on us in the front row and to then be made to feel uncomfortable by every comedian after that.. I came out for a laugh and to hopefully find a bunch of like minded people to laugh with.. I was sadly disappointed... Apparently its not like that every night.. I just don't understand why their manners fell short when we arrived.. Horrible

The pizza sauce is a little suspect but its a gem of a bar with young movers and shakers and fire to keep you warm. Free comedy too. almost every night. This is that little find you've been searching for.

Quirky pub, full of props from different tv shows. Apparently one of the owner used to work on TV as a prop master. Also the first pub I've been that only accept cards. Dead to cash, loving it!

If you re looking for the unexpected, this place is it! Enter the quaint local pub to find you ve walked into your grandmother s living room...if it had a Miami style bar with theatrical red curtains and British memorabilia all over that is. Really fun place to sit for a cocktail or beer and take in the atmosphere, or stay for one of their brilliant comedy gigs. My partner and I love a weekend pop in to meet friends.

The staff are also super friendly and they re great with social distancing processes.

My partner and I we visited the place on Wednesday evening to celebrate my birthday, for the comedy night and we didn t really know what to expect. But it did turned out it is a very special place. I really liked how the place was decorated.
The hostess Twix was very welcoming, all staff were very friendly. They served the cocktails in such an amazing tea pots, I loved it. We had a pizza, absolutely delicious and the Comedy night was great fun, cherry on top. Unfortunately we couldn t stay for the second round because of early morning next day...
You can tell straight away these people love what they do.
I definitely will be coming back, I told many my friends already about The Cavendish Arms.
If I could give a 10 stars I would . Thank you so much for making a special evening for us.

The Cavendish Arms is a pub tucked away on a quiet road about 8 mins walk (in heels) from Stockwell tube station.

There's a lovely beer garden and a reasonably sized bar area with comfy sofas - all pleasant enough. The drinks prices are average for the area and they sell chips well into the night (something every pub should do).

But the best thing about The Cavendish Arms is the back room where gigs and open mic nights take place. It's small, doesn't have a bar and can get very cramped but it's a lovely and intimate space with a decent-sized stage. The chequered floor is a nice touch (as is the disco-ball).

It's a lovely pub which I would never have found by accident - definitely my favourite in Stockwell.

I booked out the ballroom venue at the pub for my partner's supries 30th. The staff led by Dan were fantastic, great service, friendly and very attentive. Food was good and we were able to order extra on the night on top of the pre ordered, which was great.
I booked the sound/lights engineer, Andy as we had some acts on stage, he was great and very easy to work with. We also booked an extra bar person for the mini bar in the ballroom which worked well.
Also took the fancy dress rail which was well worth it for the enjoyment and photos!
The pub itself is fantastic with amazing decor and atmosphere, good beers on tap with a brilliant selection in cocktails and glassware!
I wish I lived in the area so it could be my local.
Working with Shirley made it really easy to organise everything, having all the extra options above was great. Ive worked in events for the last 12 years, and it was a breeze to work with the Little Nan's team.

Thanks guys, we will be back.

Accidentally stumbled across this. Never knew such a place existed in Stockwell. Love it. Super friendly. The toilet artwork is inspired. The free comedy night was also super fun. Can't recommend this place enough

The Cavendish Arms is now a Little Nan's, with the pub decked out in a kitsch style that is a sort of intersection between EastEnders and Royalty, a bit like your Nan's house, in common with other Little Nan's bars in Deptford and Fitzrovia.
It works. It gives the events pub more character, without taking away from the regular series of evening comedy, cabaret, burlesque and live music in the main ballroom.
I popped in on a Sunday and caught a free comedy show. I'll be back!

We recently had a private party at the Cav and just loved every minute of it. The place has so much authentic character. We had lots of live entertainment and the sound guy handled everything magnificently. They were extremely helpful in the lead up as well. I had also previously been to a burlesque evening here and it was one of the best nights out I'd had in three years living in London.

I wasn't really excited with the outside but I must say that it's a lively pub with a very good atmosphere. Living around I'll come more often and try to attend some of the concerts or cabaret or whatever happens in the second room :)

The Cavendish Arms is one of the best pubs in London! The staff are friendly and the comedy and cabaret nights they run are full of loving fans - not surprising at all - once you've been to one, you'll know how awesome they are.

I've missed the last tube many times, thanks to losing track of time in this quirky, lively hidden gem of Stockwell.

Ok pub..... Backs onto a rough estate but it tries to 'distance' itself from the clientele who you'd expect to frequent this warm, welcoming and comfortable public house. A great greeting by staff is what first awaits you as you enter the pub and from this initial welcoming immediately dismissed my preconcieved opinion that this could be a bad place. In fact I had a lovely time, good selection of beverages, low bar waiting times and by the looks of things some tasty pub grub my evening turned out to be quite a great mid-week night out. Plenty of outdoor seating, nostalgic decor makes this place great, unfortunately the state of the 'Gents' toilets does add a smear to the overall impression of the place.

My wife and I came here because of a Groupon deal that we found online. It included a choice of 2 of their pizzas or 2 of their gourmet hotdogs or one of each, 2 orders of chips and 2 alcoholic drinks and first choice of seats for the comedy show. We absolutely loved everything! We love these quirky type pubs that are a bit off the beaten path. The BBQ chicken pizza and sweet chili chutney dog were DELICIOUS! The comedy show was fantastic as well! The host was hilarious and a really nice guy. The acts were also really good! We even became part of the act and jokes becuase we were the Americans with the Groupon deal lol and it was a really great and fun time. We will definitely come back again when we are nearby!!

Good selection of beers, friendly and welcoming with a great atmosphere and plenty of locals. Looks on the outside hide an interesting decor inside, I'd describe it as early 20th century Parisian. The icing on the cake is an intimate second room for live music next door with music every Friday and Saturday. A hidden diamond in the urban rough.

I was especially impressed that I lost my card at the pub and the guys contacted me to let me know and even offered to post it to me. The whole evening the bar staff had been chatty and offered great customer service. Tom and Shirley, the managers, couldn't have been any more helpful and the staff were the biggest asset to a smallish local pub in a world of corporate gastro pubs and wine bars. Top notch.

The best of many worlds. I think the Cavendish Arms is one of the finest establishments in finding the essance of London. A little bit of everything. You can't really pin it down but everyone seems to be welcome. A working man born and bred in Vauxhall or a posh bi transman from the other side of the world. This is a place for most. It takes a good 40 min for me to get there but still worth it
