The steak was very very good, but I wanted it medium well and it was well done which wasn't a big problem. The salad was okay, it just had a tad bit too much dressing, the Mac and cheese was great! But I would only go here for steaks and not really anything else. The food was still fresh and tasty though.

I have only been to cattlemen's twice. Both times for breakfast and both times I had a wonderful waitress named Cathy. A big steak with eggs and non stop coffee: perfect weekday treat.

Literally ,the most overrated steakhouse I've ever been into. How this place is talked about like it's great is beyond my comprehension. Steak was average at best, not medium rare at all, more medium to medium well, was definitely on the tougher side, the potatoes were bland and undercooked the service was subpar if I'm being nice. Out of three meals, one was made to order with no issues. The wait time was far longer than expected, especially for the food to be as mediocre as it was. Our waitress was friendly as could be, but the service was just bad. She did offer to fix our steals, but we didn't want two of us waiting another 35 minutes while our guest was finished eating. Had to ask for refills every time. I've literally had better quality food at Sante-Fe, and they're basically fast-food steak. The cut of steak was decent, the preparation and cooking is where their issues lie. And for the price, this place is laughably bad when you can get better quality for less elsewhere. When the rolls are the star at a steakhouse, maybe it's time to close your doors. For these prices go to Mahogany, Mickey Mantles, or Red Prime. They actually have good food, not mediocrity surviving off its age and name. Quit trying to produce fancy commercials, and produce some quality food. PS, I hope they do an inspection soon, as the place was definitely not clean in the front, I would hate to see into the kitchen. Best Steakhouse in OK? Surely you must jest. Dirtiest, most overrated Steakhouse is more your speed. Not even on par with with chain steakhouses, much less the higher end places that they charge like.

I've been eating at cattlemens for over 20 years and today will be my last day. I've had better steaks at dennys than what I got here today. It was like eating burnt popcorn. I still have the bad taste in my mouth. Very disappointed that the quality has went down hill so bad.

This is a OKC Staple. Delicious Steaks, over the top HOUSE SALAD DRESSING,the Thousand island dressing is glorious too!! The staff in all the 30+ years has always been delightful . The only GREY AREA this last time was the ABUNDANCE OF FLYS EVERYWHERE?!! They were swarming like a outside picnic?

The food is fabulous. The service is attentive and professional. This is one of the last restaurants anywhere with an intimate atmosphere. Cattlemans is great for families or business dinners.

This was my first visit to Cattlemen's and it did NOT live up to all of the hype i had heard for years. First, the good things: Even though it was busy, i was seated quickly at the bar. My waitress was very good, attentive but, not bothersome. I did not wait long for my food at any point. Now, the not so good things: The "famous" house salad dressing, which I tried upon suggestion, tasted like Hellmans mayo. The 16 oz. ribeye that was on special was $28, so i ordered the large cut of prime rib instead. I chose mashed potatoes as my side and expected my socks to be adequately knocked off. It was not to be. The meat was very fatty and bland, mediocre at best and the mashed potatoes were just plain. There was no vegetable choice other than the salad. I was offered desert but, declined. After a $3 tip, i spent a total of $28 and change. In conclusion, if you happen to be in the area and want to experience the novelty of eating here, it's not necessarily a bad choice, especially if you dont mind spending the money. Would i suggest driving out of your way for the food? No. All in all, mediocre for the money is the best rating i can give. Disappointing was the word I would use.

For the amount I paid, you d think they would fix the baked potatoes for us? Instead of me having to do it. Also over cooked my steak and baked potato was not cooked fully. The waiter literally tried to grab the plate and get me a new one when I said I m fine with it. Worst experience ever and definitely won t come back. 10/10 DONT recommend

One of the best steak place's in OKC. With that said, the lunch meal is ok. Steak kabobs were tasty yet chewy and the hot roast beef sandwich was ok. Stick with the steaks, they are great.

Order the blue ribbon special. The tender, juicy steak has so much flavor with the au jus sauce that you wont need any steak sauce. I have a small frame and ate all 14 ounces of my blue ribbon steak in one sitting. Hands down the best steak ever! On the other hand,my husband ordered a prime rib and said it tasted average but could tell it was frozen and kept under a heat lamp. However, the potato skins topped with cheese and bacon were deliciously appetizing. If you go there for Saturday night dinner expect an hour and a half wait where drinks are $12 at the open bar upstairs.

The best steaks we have ever eaten. We traveled from Florida and I had always heard of this place, so we had to try it out. The food was delicious and the service was above reproach. Our waiter was fabulous, thanks so much for the great service. They were more than willing to even accommodate my vegetarian daughter. I had the Presidential and I'll never be able to eat anything less.

My husband and I went to Oklahoma for the Ram National Circuit Finals. While there we asked which restaurant was sponsoring the event. We were told there wasn't one but the PRCA rodeo photographer recommended Cattlemen's. So today before we left Oklahoma, we made our way to Cattlemen's Steakhouse and we are so glad we did. From the moment we stepped out of our vehicle it was a treat. Loved the free horse drawn buggy ride to the front door. That was really cool. Loved the Lamb Fries! Salad was crisp. Steaks were good and cooked to order. Our server was excellent. And heard other servers being equally as friendly and inviting. Manager on duty was very friendly too. Can't wait to come back. I would love to see Cattlemen's sponsor the Circuit Finals so that other rodeo attendees knows about this place. We are looking for good steakhouses while we're in town. More of us would give you our business if you advertised/sponsored the event. Hope to see your logo at the rodeo next year!! Thanks, Anita Scott, Texas

Currently sitting in Cattlemen s, flies are everywhere and server no where to be found. Came here to celebrate my birthday and was sadly disappointed. Salad was good with the house dressing but the lady in the table behind us found a bug in hers after we ate ours. Steaks were cooked under. Mac N Cheese was not good! Definitely will NOT be back and I do NOT recommend coming here to eat!

Amazing! Awesome upstairs waiting area that can seat plenty of people and has a bar. Steaks were fantastic and had a piece of coconut cream pie to top it off for my birthday. Will come back anytime I get the chance.

Good food, pricey, but that's to be expected at this type of restaurant. The waitress was efficient as there were 11 of us and she was on her own. She did a good job considering that. My biggest issue is that it feels very close quarters inside, which isn't a real issue at all, just not a place I particularly prefer to eat in because of that. It was overall a pleasant experience.

The best way to describe Cattlemen s - a diner that does steak extremely well. Really enjoyed the Porterhouse steak special they had and the baked potato was cooked to perfection. Every steak entree comes with a house salad with your choice of dressing, baked potato or fries. They know what they do and do it well. The house dressing was so delicious and was reminiscent of a creamy garlic dressing. Lunch was a great choice on a Sunday afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed Cattlemen s. If you are looking for elegant, over the top fine dining, you will want to rethink choosing Cattlemen s for that special date night.

Been here a few times and today was the best experience! Our waiter, Harris, was phenomenal. He was very attentive, sweet and refilled our waters a bunch which is always great! Our steaks were perfect and the Mac n cheese was to die for. I enjoy that this place is dress fancy or casual especially after eating a steak. Will for sure continue coming and hope to have him is our waiter again.

Honest opinions. So sorry if they offend, but maybe could be use to improve some inconsistencies. We went here upon a recommendation. We waited 20-30 min upstairs in the waiting room/bar area. Every chair was taken up there, so we got a drink and hung out by their awards, deciding what to eat off the online menu. (No big deal, sorta fun, we met a great couple to chat with). The restroom up there is so small my knees touched the door, and my toes poked out from under it while seated. I can't imagine an elderly or larger woman than me trying to use those 2 stalls. (I am an average size 10, 5' 5", 30yo). At our table, we had an agreeable, nice waitress. No complaints about our service from them. I ordered bacon wrapped 6oz filet, which came with steamed veggies and a house salad. Salad came first, with the entire top of my salad bowl covered in thick house dressing. Some seasoning was sprinkled on top as well? I picked around and tried to find the "nicely dressed" pieces. That was beyond excessive. No one wants to eat fork-fulls of mayonnaise y'all. My husband ordered his dressing on the side, and it came served in an overfilled, spilling side dish. The waitress apologized as she set it down realizing how sloppily plated it was. Who plated that? Steak came and initially I noticed how undercooked my bacon piece looked. No biggie, scoot it off and enjoy the flavors it gave. I was asked to cut in and check my steak, and I was put off, but HATE sending things back. I gave a hesitant nod and assumed I could just eat around the center (that looked way too raw). As I cut more, I noticed the inside cook was blue. I have always ordered med-rare, and realize that varies to some chefs. I can roll with a little over, a little too bloody...but this steak was blue inside. I asked to have it cooked more and then it was good. Nice flavor at least! Melted butter would have made it better. Veggies were steamed perfectly but had zero seasoning...after I added S&P at the table I decided that was my favorite thing there! I was just expecting more. Ambiance is alright because it is a cool historic building, but it is being neglected. Service was great because our waitresses were very helpful and maintained composure well with a FULL house. Food was just so-so.

Without fail the best steak you will ever have set before you. Eat enjoy and know that there are some things that truly have a ending. This is it for steak. You'll never find one better.

I came here about 5 years ago with my family. I had THE BEST steak I have ever tasted in my life. Being in OKC again, I decided that I had to come back. Again, I had the best steak ever. The homemade coconut cream pie was to die for. The whole staff was cheerful and kind. I can't wait for my next trip to OKC.

I don't even know where to start... Steak (prime aged ribeye) was absolutely fantastic! Comparable to the $150.00 dollar steaks in the fine dining steak houses in Vegas. Our waiter was also absolutely great. Wish I would've gotten his name. As for those who say the steak was not seasoned, it must be a pity that you've never eaten at fine steak houses... :( Steak houses season steak, sometimes if ever, with salt and pepper and that's it. It was crowded, as would be expected with such a great steak house. Props to to Cattlemans! Keep it up!!!

I must preface this by saying that the steak here is very good. My socks stayed on the entire time - they were not blown off - but it was very good. HOWEVER, the salad and appetizer were lacking. The house dressing on the salad is like straight up mayonnaise. I like my mayo as much as the next guy, but not as dressing. Personal preference. Moreover, the lamb fries were disappointing. Not bad. Just nothing special. Overall, it was a decent meal with a good steak. $100 for two people (at lunch). For the price, I would call this average. I would honestly prefer the sides and rolls at a Texas Roadhouse over this place. However, the steak is worth trying and the atmosphere is old and charming in a kitschy way.

I had some friends in from Nigeria and took them to dinner here for a classic Oklahoma restaurant experience. They really enjoyed it. Service is top notch. Prices are pretty good. Food is just okay. I got the small filet and would have it again. Rolls were delicious. 5 stars for the atmosphere and service. 4 stars for the food.

Excellent rib-eye steak tonight! Served w/salad, roll, and sauteed mushrooms. Tender and juicy, but cooked to perfect medium-rare. Varied beverage menu, with something to satisfy every taste

Place could use a DEEP cleaning. I kinda regretted going in at first. Reminded me of an old 1980's truck stop diner. But after I got my steak all was forgotten. I would have eaten that puppy right off the floor! It was the absolute best steak I ever ate!

My wonderful husband of 36 years treated me to Cattlemen s for my birthday, and I literally fell in love with their steaks! I had the Porterhouse (16oz). The only way to adequately describe it was buttery ! It was sooo tender, juicy and simply delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly (even told us a couple of jokes). We had a wonderful meal...and we WILL be returning!

I've been to steakhouses in new york and other big cities, but nothing compares to the steak you get at cattlemens. The 16 oz ribeye is very flavorful and extremely tender. The price is half of what you would pay at a fine dining steakhouse in the city. Lamb fries are also amazing. The best steak I have had in my life the customer service is also spot on

That is by far the most tender chicken fried steak I've ever had. I don't even think I would have needed to use my knife at all. As a side note, get the house dressing on your salad. You won't regret the decision.

Loving this place!!! Amazing steak. Cooked perfect. My husband and daughter loved the country fried steak. Loved the house dressing and yeast rolls. Food came out very fast. Angie was fantastic.

Ordered the $10.90-something steak lunch special. Came with a filling, fresh side salad and side. I chose french fries, which were not as crispy as my husband would prefer, but decent. Also had a well-made (*ahem* generously poured) Amaretto Sour and an Old Fashioned.
The staff was very professional and quick with both orders and refills. The space was small without being claustrophobic. Quiet, yet family friendly. A great experience.

I have been twice now and can't say enough good things about Cattlemen's. It is a MUST if you are in OKC. I have gotten the filet, medium rare, both times. It is cooked perfectly. My husband has gotten the sirloin on the T-bone, and he loved both. He kept mentioning how tender the T-bone was and that it was cut very well. The steaks are juicy, the homemade croutons are the bomb, and the lamb fries are wonderful, too. The service is great. The only con is it is loud - but that is because people are having a good time enjoying their food!

Great Waitress, remembered everything. it was obvious she knew what she was doing. Awesome Ribeye, salad, and baked potato!

3 yrs later..A 16 oz Porterhouse with salad and potato for $20.50 during lunch. Well worth it, because that's a really big steak, and cheaper than a sirloin meal at some places!
The Mia Dolcea Moscato is to die for!!
