Food marvelous really enjoyed meal. Would highly recommend
This place is one of my favorites! Convenient rates, large dishes and the staff are constantly super friendly.
Great place, get the lunch deal on the Wriggle app - always quick service and consistent and tasty food.
Wow what a meal, I can eat but there is no way I was finishing these meals. Food was fantastic and service impeccable.
Very dated interior and barely average food we went there for a family lunch a while back and most things tasted of either nothing of were really plastic-y. One of the worst culinary experiences I had in Bristol if you're looking for authentic and fresh Chinese cuisine, please try Chilly Daddy instead.
Very friendly and courteous staff, authentic Chinese cuisine, dishes came super quickly after ordering, pleasant and stylish atmosphere with unobtrusive jazz / blues in the background - all around recommendable.
Liked this place so much we returned the following day! Beautiful food at a good price and excellent service.
Best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to, the food is amazing and the staff are really friendly and polite.
Lovely. Comfy. Great food and friendly staff. Quiet compared to some Chinese restaurant and tables are well spaced. It's somewhere you could feel happy dressing up for. And you aren't rushed through your meal. Gorgeous building but not sure about disabled facilities as there are stairs - it's a Georgian house. Very central. No idea about parking
Strange and flavoursome food.
Well worth a visit
Food was ok but very stingy with the rice which is cheap for them anyway?? Off home for something to eat to fill us up!
Came here on two occasions now and both have been great.
One of the most consistent in Bristol. Book a table downstairs as much nicer than up. Food good, service friendly and well placed for drinks at local bars before/after.
Nice place for a meal and the service was very good but the food itself was a little bland and lacking in flavour.
I have been here a lot during lunch time. We have always had good quality food and is general busy but not busy enough to need to book as it's a big place. If you use the wriggle app they general do good deals if a 2 course meal.
I have eaten at this restaurant a few times in the last few months and the food is excellent. The owners in particular are welcoming and can't do enough for you. The food is well priced and value for money. The service is equally as good. I would recommend a visit to this restaurant
Been meaning to come here for ages and finally made the trip down for me Mum's birthday! Stay were amazing, food was amazing and the building is actually really nice on the inside (I've wondered for years!) Absolutely loved it!
Nice restaurant, great Chinese food, reasonable karaoke, slightly higher than average pricing
Best Chinese in Bristol. Amazing food, service and great ambience.
Lovely Chinese restaurant. Went for pre-theatre dining. Received polite and considerate service. The food was extremely nice and well-presented. Pleasing and relaxing ambience (furnishings, lighting and music!). Would happily return.
Been there for several times already and really love the atmosphere inside, not to mention the most freshly made authentic Chinese dishes I've ever tried in Bristol. My boys love the Won Ton Soup while my favourite is the beef stew. There was live traditional Chinese music instrument performance last time during my visit. It was a real treat!
Sunday lunch, excellent food and freshly cooked. Very good value. The staff could be a bit friendlier
Absolutely first rate and a fine evening with friends
Really good service, beautiful venue and pictures of famous people dining there! Turntable was nice and helpful. Food was really good, will definitely visit again!
They serve a misleading menu. The steam meat buns are meant to be 'buns' -they came as dumplings. Did ask kindly that they describe the difference between a dumpling and a bun. They were wrong. They do not understand there own provincial food - or even the difference in pastries and dishes on their menu. They also lie about this to you and serve you the wrong sauces to complement the misleading dish. Yes there is a difference between mainland China and Hong Kong in foods - but you don't use this as an excuse to serve/sell wrong items.
They give you pork sweet and sour when you ordered prawn sweet and sour.
The lemon chicken - clearly lemon curd thinned with water pour over thin fried chicken.
Service is silly but friendly. Manager is terrible at preventing or curing and problems but friendly. And I think they struggle here with staff front and back of house cause you can see it during your visit.
Would not recommend it and I understand I had a bad evening there. But it was silly of them to mislead they're customers and lie about it. Just tell the truth. People will come cause the beef with black bean and sweet and sour dishes were great - just not big enough.
Peking duck pancakes - meat was too dry.
Food was awesome probably the best I ve had in Bristol! Food came out quickly but service was slow if we wanted more drinks, plates being picked up etc.
We have been here pretty much the same day / time for the past few years and I have always thought it has been average - I ve had better takeaways. Our most recent visit on 15/12/19 though changed my view of it being a 3* to being a 2*. We ordered our food and the first dish that came out was the Honey Ribs - although we didn t ask for them to be spilt off the plate all on to the table. Anyway after that mishap we thought the rest of the meal would go smoothly. However as our mains were being bought out one of the waiters reached over to put a plate down and knocked one of the many glasses (unfortunately one full for coke) all down my lap. This could have been avoided had the staff being taking away the empty glasses instead we had multiple empty glasses all over the table which didn t allow for much space. The waiter then gave me some napkins and tried to help pat the area before I told him I could manage, they did eventually (when we asked them to) take my meal off the bill as I was completely covered in coke and my trousers were soaking wet to the point I had to go up to the toilet and dry them under the hand dryer. I did think after that it couldn t get any worse but then it came to pudding time... where they had ran out of cheesecake & ice cream, only one of our two tables were offered brownie as a dessert option whereas the other table wasn t told. Some of the desserts also came out wrong which was frustrating. Overall I was really disappointed with the standard of service and food and I don t think I will want to return there again in the future.
Have not been here in over 10 years nut was back visiting family and decided to book best choice ever.
Excellent food really big portions and very helpful staff.
Cold rice and crispy beef dish, sat in a draft too which didn't help the food temperature, what a letdown
Yum! Good traditional (British style) Chinese food. Good service. Ideal for a fancy pre theatre meal as much as late eating after having too many craft ales...
good location, perfect to have a dinner after shopping in city centre.Food is delicious and authentic, and staffs are always friendly. highly recommend!
Beautiful .. over priced. M Exeter. Working away from home.
Very good food and very nice place.
It is a pleasure to work with Helen & Richard.
A favourite of mine. Staff are amazing and food never disappoints.
Pleasant efficient service and good value for the set lunch.
I've enjoyed both the takeaway and dining in at this restaurant, food was excellent both times. When we visited, the service was great and staff friendly. I'd also highly recommend the desserts.
I've been here 3 times and I want to turn 3 to 33. This place has been 5 star+ every time!!!
Had lunch here. Great price, great food, great service. Will definitely go again.
Food is ok but not superb. One person got his plate 10 minutes before the others. Personnel is friendly.
Good value and great flavour from favourite dishes.
We had a lovely meal there and very friendly service !
We ordered food and by mistake they forgot to put the veg duck. They came to give us the missing order home and with a voucher! Very nice staff! And the food was amazing!
Authentic Fine Chinese Food presented very well and its delicious!
Great for Chinese food in English style but worst experience for Chinese ppl
Tried this place in the past with a friend and I am addicted since then. I enjoyed the awesome vibes and yummy food and drinks. Highly recommended.
So disappointed, all dishes cannot meet Chinese cuisine standard. Really curious what's the rating from those celebrities.
Super delicious. Went here today on a Saturday as a group of 7 people. Will definitely come back. One of the best Chinese restaurants that I have been too.
Service was super sweet and friendly.
Good service and nice food here. My parents were so in love with this historical building. This place is so clean as well. I would say this is the best Chinese restaurant in the Bristol. Gonna try it again ASAP!!
I got takeaway at this chinese restaurant. The place itself is really nice and cosy. It is well decorated and there seems to be a pleasant ambience in there. The food came quite rapidly and I ate it at home. The dumplings were excellent. The pineapple fried rice was a but dry but ok. The beef was tender and really well seasoned. Overall it was a good experience even though I'm sure it would have been better to eat there, the food being a bit dry when I got home.
You have to give this place a try if you want genuine Chinise food cooked fresh at a reasonable price
Very good branch time on Sunday. Only one minus: too impatient waiters. They were checking every few minutes if next one dish should be served.
Easy to find on a lively street. We had authentic Chinese dishes here, making me feel kinda nostalgic. It's so good to have the home-style food when you are far away from China.
Bever ever again, cold food poor service, sat 2 if the most drunk people at next table, they were eating like pigs, very of putting, was given the bill before we had our main course.....NEVER AGAIN.
Bought the 2course lunch from wriggle, only cost 5.95. Wonton may contain fat that is a little greasy for me. Soup is good. Beef is tender and easy to chew, other vegetables in this dish are also flavored. Service is good, wait no more than 10 min for my dish.
Impeccable food and service. If you usually order the typical westernised Chinese dishes, I highly recommend you step outside your comfort zone and order something different, or more traditional. You will be rewarded with a far tastier dish.
We were just a walk in but the staff looked after us and the food was lovely.
To my surprise, the menu was upgraded in 2015, where you can find more traditional Chinese food.
Highly recommend the beef brisket in clay pot, which is served in a hot clay pot. The hot clay pot was so hot that the beef brisket was still boiling in front of you, when waitress brought it to you. And you can see that the beef brisket was cooked together with Chinese radish, which turned out to be a very balance combination.
Love this dish. And quite enjoyed the comfortable dining space.
Wonderful ,relaxed, tasteful , elegance at very reasonable price and excellent service
We had a banquet for three people. We asked to substitute one of the dishes and the waitress was very obliging. The food is very tasty and there is plenty.
