Very dated interior and barely average food we went there for a family lunch a while back and most things tasted of either nothing of were really plastic-y. One of the worst culinary experiences I had in Bristol if you're looking for authentic and fresh Chinese cuisine, please try Chilly Daddy instead.

Very friendly and courteous staff, authentic Chinese cuisine, dishes came super quickly after ordering, pleasant and stylish atmosphere with unobtrusive jazz / blues in the background - all around recommendable.

Lovely. Comfy. Great food and friendly staff. Quiet compared to some Chinese restaurant and tables are well spaced. It's somewhere you could feel happy dressing up for. And you aren't rushed through your meal. Gorgeous building but not sure about disabled facilities as there are stairs - it's a Georgian house. Very central. No idea about parking

I have been here a lot during lunch time. We have always had good quality food and is general busy but not busy enough to need to book as it's a big place. If you use the wriggle app they general do good deals if a 2 course meal.

I have eaten at this restaurant a few times in the last few months and the food is excellent. The owners in particular are welcoming and can't do enough for you. The food is well priced and value for money. The service is equally as good. I would recommend a visit to this restaurant

Been meaning to come here for ages and finally made the trip down for me Mum's birthday! Stay were amazing, food was amazing and the building is actually really nice on the inside (I've wondered for years!) Absolutely loved it!

Lovely Chinese restaurant. Went for pre-theatre dining. Received polite and considerate service. The food was extremely nice and well-presented. Pleasing and relaxing ambience (furnishings, lighting and music!). Would happily return.

Been there for several times already and really love the atmosphere inside, not to mention the most freshly made authentic Chinese dishes I've ever tried in Bristol. My boys love the Won Ton Soup while my favourite is the beef stew. There was live traditional Chinese music instrument performance last time during my visit. It was a real treat!

They serve a misleading menu. The steam meat buns are meant to be 'buns' -they came as dumplings. Did ask kindly that they describe the difference between a dumpling and a bun. They were wrong. They do not understand there own provincial food - or even the difference in pastries and dishes on their menu. They also lie about this to you and serve you the wrong sauces to complement the misleading dish. Yes there is a difference between mainland China and Hong Kong in foods - but you don't use this as an excuse to serve/sell wrong items.

They give you pork sweet and sour when you ordered prawn sweet and sour.

The lemon chicken - clearly lemon curd thinned with water pour over thin fried chicken.

Service is silly but friendly. Manager is terrible at preventing or curing and problems but friendly. And I think they struggle here with staff front and back of house cause you can see it during your visit.

Would not recommend it and I understand I had a bad evening there. But it was silly of them to mislead they're customers and lie about it. Just tell the truth. People will come cause the beef with black bean and sweet and sour dishes were great - just not big enough.

Peking duck pancakes - meat was too dry.

We have been here pretty much the same day / time for the past few years and I have always thought it has been average - I ve had better takeaways. Our most recent visit on 15/12/19 though changed my view of it being a 3* to being a 2*. We ordered our food and the first dish that came out was the Honey Ribs - although we didn t ask for them to be spilt off the plate all on to the table. Anyway after that mishap we thought the rest of the meal would go smoothly. However as our mains were being bought out one of the waiters reached over to put a plate down and knocked one of the many glasses (unfortunately one full for coke) all down my lap. This could have been avoided had the staff being taking away the empty glasses instead we had multiple empty glasses all over the table which didn t allow for much space. The waiter then gave me some napkins and tried to help pat the area before I told him I could manage, they did eventually (when we asked them to) take my meal off the bill as I was completely covered in coke and my trousers were soaking wet to the point I had to go up to the toilet and dry them under the hand dryer. I did think after that it couldn t get any worse but then it came to pudding time... where they had ran out of cheesecake & ice cream, only one of our two tables were offered brownie as a dessert option whereas the other table wasn t told. Some of the desserts also came out wrong which was frustrating. Overall I was really disappointed with the standard of service and food and I don t think I will want to return there again in the future.

I've enjoyed both the takeaway and dining in at this restaurant, food was excellent both times. When we visited, the service was great and staff friendly. I'd also highly recommend the desserts.

Good service and nice food here. My parents were so in love with this historical building. This place is so clean as well. I would say this is the best Chinese restaurant in the Bristol. Gonna try it again ASAP!!

I got takeaway at this chinese restaurant. The place itself is really nice and cosy. It is well decorated and there seems to be a pleasant ambience in there. The food came quite rapidly and I ate it at home. The dumplings were excellent. The pineapple fried rice was a but dry but ok. The beef was tender and really well seasoned. Overall it was a good experience even though I'm sure it would have been better to eat there, the food being a bit dry when I got home.

Bever ever again, cold food poor service, sat 2 if the most drunk people at next table, they were eating like pigs, very of putting, was given the bill before we had our main course.....NEVER AGAIN.

Bought the 2course lunch from wriggle, only cost 5.95. Wonton may contain fat that is a little greasy for me. Soup is good. Beef is tender and easy to chew, other vegetables in this dish are also flavored. Service is good, wait no more than 10 min for my dish.

Impeccable food and service. If you usually order the typical westernised Chinese dishes, I highly recommend you step outside your comfort zone and order something different, or more traditional. You will be rewarded with a far tastier dish.

To my surprise, the menu was upgraded in 2015, where you can find more traditional Chinese food.
Highly recommend the beef brisket in clay pot, which is served in a hot clay pot. The hot clay pot was so hot that the beef brisket was still boiling in front of you, when waitress brought it to you. And you can see that the beef brisket was cooked together with Chinese radish, which turned out to be a very balance combination.
Love this dish. And quite enjoyed the comfortable dining space.
