My husband bought me the spa and brunch package.

My husband bought me the spa and brunch package.

Spa: Maybe I expected too much but the spa was just okay. The massage was good though a little short because I only arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and they didn't tell me to hurry to try to start my treatment on time. So I leisurely filled out the paperwork, got the tour, changed, and scoped out the lounge before my treatment. Then once in the treatment room we discussed my problem areas and what I wanted for a bit before starting. Alas, they stopped at 1130 on the dot regardless of when we started. C'est la vie...I get it...they have a schedule. I just wish I was informed of how strict the timing was. Snacks in the spa lounge were disappointing: veggie slices with hummus, bites of a mystery cake and granola bars. A bit sparse. Honestly it was a very nice clean space, great for relaxing, but not quite the level of luxury that I was expecting.

Brunch: The restaurant didn't seem to expect me, but they accomodated me. I had my choice of a table in a noisy room with a bridal party (or maybe birthday or baby shower? Either way think 12-18 loud happy women) or outside on the patio in the sun. I chose the patio. This was supposed to be a quiet relaxing time away from my two young kids after all. Sun moved and I was able to move to a shaded corner of the table. Beautiful view. Service was a little lackluster. There didn't seem to be assigned waiters and it led to some issues. One table needed to chase down a waiter to give their order. Another didn't have any food 45 minutes after their order was taken. I had the butternut squash soup (okay), duck confit (spinach had some sand and lentils were underdone, also...black peppercorns with lentils? Not the greatest of culinary decisions. That was a surprise bite...) and fruit for dessert (they had no dessert that was dairy free). The iced coffee was weak, which i liked but i know some coffee connoisseurs who would be very disappointed.

For this price point, every thing was just not up to par.

definitely the place to impress a loved one on a romantic evening. decor is cozy and warm, yet the noise level can be loud at times. food cooked to perfection as steaks melt in your mouth. sommolier on duty available to add that extra touch of the priveledged life. at $100 a person however, it is obvious that priveledges has its price.

Truly confused with my experience this morning. I m 39 weeks pregnant. It s been a difficult pregnancy which is while my husband brought me here for my 30th birthday. I just woke up i don t feel well. I called front desk to ask about late check out, i was told it wasn t possible. (One again very confused at this service i managed a hotel before and i currently own a spa). I asked to speak to the manager. Kimberly, the manager came in the phone and said no again after telling her i don t feel well i walk like a turtle and i just work up. She offered me ginger ale . WTH. This place is far from cheap. Check in is at 4 pm. Everyone needs to be retrained in customer service. Because this is not service. If you are pregnant don t come here.

Attended a wedding here. Staff was incredibly professional, and services were great! Considering it was a 6 hour event, I was thoroughly impressed by how everything was maintained and handled.

Environment was exceptionally intimate, and scenery was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend.

You HAVE to stay here at least once in your life! How often do you get to stay in a real life castle?? Yes it is a lot of money but worth every cent. This place is beautiful inside and out! Awesome staff, awesome food, and you can tell all your friends you stayed at the Castle in Tarrytown, NY!

Shannon was such a big help in organizing our wedding there this past September. She went above and beyond and truly made the experience enjoyable and memorable. My husband and I are so thankful for her help, as well as Cesar, and everyone on the staff we had a chance to encounter. Everyone was very professional & that made such an important difference on our big day!

We visited the castle for celebratory birthday cocktails before attending a show at the nearby Westchester Broadway dinner theater. The drinks were superb. The setting is remarkable.. Our bartender was delightful and attentive.

We rented the king deluxe room for our honeymoon. Bed was soo comfy. Loved it. Hotel feels like a medieval castle in scotland. So cool. Town is so cute too. Staff is friendly. On-site restaurant is very pricey for the portions, but worth having a meal there to have the full experience of it. If arriving late, no food on site to enjoy so order a pizza or bring food. We met the beautiful Alison (the matre D of the hotel) and she was so kind and lovely. She brought us tea when she noticed I wasn't feeling well, and made us feel so welcomed and appreciated at a time when we needed a boost. She was a huge highlight of our stay. She explained how they do all sorts of amazing events at the hotel, offer helicopter tours of the area, casino night galas, and so many luxurious things. We liked it here and recommend it.

The place is secluded from the bustle of New York, and is very beautiful and charming. The staff is very friendly to the point where they will not allow you to carry your own luggage. The location is small but the rooms are big. Equus, the main restaurant, is amazing, and overlooks the Hudson River. I highly recommend.

A great but pricey getaway. Excellent service, fantastic food and good onsite amenities. Be advised that staying in this castle will feel like being at a formal event the entire time. It might be romantic, but it's also a bit stuffy.

Was here for a wedding, not an overnight stay, but the location was gorgeous and tastefully decorated. The fountain and grassy area in the back made for beautiful pictures. All of the staff were very courteous and helpful.

I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff was friendly, accommodations were great. My family and I went for Halloween festivities in Sleepy Hollow. Why the 1 star let me explain. I left a fleece jacket in our room. When I called the hotel that night they said they had it and it would be in lost and found. They would hold on to it for 3 months, I said great I have family in area and will be in soon. 3 weeks later I went to the hotel and was told they dont have the fleece. Security had it and was not in that day. They said it has been here so long so it got moved. Forget the fact I was told I had 3 months. This was only 3 weeks later. They told me to leave my name and number and someone would call. Guess what I didnt get a call, so assume I wasnt an important enough guest. Needless to say I would never stay here again.

Smells like old. The picture best sums it up, the last time they invested any money in this small luxury hotel was when the pay phone was installed. Rooms are big, with carpet, had mold in the top of my shower. The smell is the worst part. Service tries hard.

I had a wonderful getaway for the evening. Spa treatment and a very lovely dinner. The spa staff took such great care of my sister and I, made us feel comfortable. The spa was so clean, great amenities and one heck of a massage! Dinner consisted of cocktails, apps, lobster entree and the castle cake! The staff was very nice and welcoming. They even brought us a basket to keep our purses in, that we kept next to us. Very clever. This place is a great hidden gem in the Hudson valley!

We come here from time to time on special occasions or to bring friends in town to a nice dinner. Food quality is pretty good, but the biggest reason to visit is to have the experience of dining in a castle. Special environment and atmosphere! Always enjoy taking a stroll at the garden as well, great garden to let the kids run around and burn some energy between courses of a meal.

What to expect from a Castle? Beauty, elegance and good services ... Yes we found these 3 items in this Spa, which has already served as scenery for photos of several editions of the magazine Caras. The gardens are immaculate and the restaurant although small serves great meals and the best, no need to be hosted, take reservations for the famous breakfast in which you can taste the famous Mimosa!

Just perfect! Details, service, decor. Everything starting from the car valet service to the room service. The restaurant never disappointed us during the years with delicious food and a well stocked cellar.

I would NOT recommend this hotel. Rude & unaccommodating staff, from the front desk agent all the way up to the COO, Ken Utsumi & manager Jiro Sato. Stay far away from this property, such a disappointment.

I got a combination Swedish massage and Thai foot treatment, which was provided by a single masseuse in a private room over the course of 2 hours or so. Though she was only a few months in, she provided excellent service and left my feet and body feeling totally loose and relaxed, so that I felt like I was floating out of the room when the treatments were done.

Besides the treatments themselves, I really enjoyed lounging in the large, wood-paneled relaxation room that served as a common waiting area for both men and women before, between, and after treatments. The room featured a small kitchen area at the back with various waters and teas available and a nice assortment of light finger foods being constantly refreshed by the staff. The front of the room was a massive wall to floor window overlooking Hudson Valley hills and the sports fields of the Hackley School nearby. Couches and lounges were situated throughout.

Can't comment on price since it was a gift, but I would give my experience five stars overall and recommend Thann to any spa lovers who happen to be in the area.

Fabulous accommodations and staff. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade for our anniversary. The restaurant Equus was top notch and their sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great food and desserts! Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful room and weekend.

Had a celebratory dinner there, beautiful place, great views. Dinner was very good as well except for the service, which was surprisingly lacking and had trouble getting service multiple times for a table of 6. We all noticed it and we're surprised especially on a Saturday night.

Super nice staff. Hotel was very clean. The scenic view was great. Only cons are there isn t much to do in Tarrytown. Go for a few days and relax. Hotel isn t walking distance from anything. Cheaper to just stay at the hotel and eat at the restaurant than Uber or grab a cab. Or just rent a car but roads are tight and winding.

We went to the restaurant for lunch to celebrate our anniversary. The pre fixe menu cost $38 and included an appetizer or salad, an entree, a dessert, and champagne or mimosas. The portion size was a bit small, but the excellent food quality made it worth the price. They even gave us a second drink free since it was our anniversary. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes good food and doesn't mind smaller portions.

We stayed here for our wedding. I lost my glasses and they were so helpful and understanding. It was completely my guest's fault in the end. They also let us check in early so we had time to do makeup and get dressed. I can't say enough amazing things about this place. It's expensive but worth every penny. I hope to spend many anniversaries here. They are all professional and polite. The grounds and rooms are beautiful. There are no downsides.

This was the perfect place for us.
