Casa de Thereza Review

Upon entering I already felt a positive energy. Starting to speak for the service, it is simply divine, you are treated in such a cordial way that you seem to be the only person served, I felt extremely good to be served there, not to mention the concern of the waiter to see if you are being served well. The atmosphere is calm, serene, perfect for a lunch for two or going out with friends to a more peaceful place. The menu offered by the restaurant is of great variety, my dish was a golden fish stew (fish of the day) that was delicious. In a nutshell, the Casa da Tereza Restaurant is a place I will definitely return to.

A fish moqueca with shrimp for 2. Excellent dish, well served, service grade 10, amazing mangaba + cashew + lemon juice and very cozy atmosphere. Fair price when comparing certain foods elsewhere. I recommend.

A sophisticated environment, with excellence in service and execution of dishes. The presentation, with regional influence, harmonizes very well with the architecture of the place.

The moqueca really was very tasty and well worth it. There is a very good ambient music, live piano (no cover charge). It has a blue zone nearby (fish market). The negative point are the very salty prices, the dishes are not generous and at least in my experience not everything was top notch.

Good service and good food. As it is a renowned restaurant with a chef's signature, we expected more flavor. Nothing was surprising or very tasty, in fact the food is average. (It seems like a restaurant rule, to serve rice without any seasoning.) The jabuticaba caipivodka exceeded expectations. Great!
Parking is very difficult, as it is in a busy area with few parking spaces. But it is worth the effort to have dinner, drink a well-prepared drink and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the house to the sound of a well-played piano.

I felt cheated. My expectation was to leave this place absolutely satisfied. After all, in the advertisements, one sees "typical food" "tradition", finally, I asked for a moqueca that would come with fish, octopus and shrimp. Was it hot? Yes. But since we ordered a plate for two people, we expected to at least eat one, just one piece of fish each, but there came a single small stand divided into two pieces, two small prawns, one for each, a sample of octopus and lots of bananas, I'm sorry to have mistakenly ordered a banana moqueca ... Too bad! So much charm for so little ...

The place is wonderful from the moment you enter the restaurant. The starter of feijoada cake and then a shrimp stew with plantains, then a dessert with hot coconut. Very good!! In addition, I take the opportunity to buy some spices from Tereza (chicken, fish, meat, rice, beans and vegetables) are delicious. The atmosphere is well decorated and the employees are very kind !!

I found the restaurant good, but it has some serious caveats: 1. VERY expensive. The cost benefit is definitely low despite the food being good. 2. I ordered a moqueca, and came little shrimp. 3. A couple of foreigners at the side table were met by a non-English waiter. Inadmissible in a restaurant of 80 reais the dish.

It was not expected, the food is not differentiated, and the service is terrible, not to mention the value that does not correspond to what is offered.

Super cozy place, tastefully decorated in an old mansion, it has spaces with different decorations. The restaurant is in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood, super well located, near the Caramuru Square. I went twice, the first one was marked by having eaten the best green beans of Salvador. I think it was the picanha dish that came with the beans.
Both times I made reservation.

Salvador has many interesting, typical and folkloric places. But in a few of them one can actually eat well, as most sacrifice quality to satisfy the mass tourism that makes the hotels and restaurants move.
Teresa's House is an exception. In a very pleasant and typical environment, you can enjoy the best quality fish, crabs and molluscs, which are indicated by qualified personnel, if not by the owner, who is a person's love.
At the end of the meal you can also make the tour of the House, very interesting for its decoration, and, perhaps, find some object or souvenir in the part of the House that functions as a bazaar. By the way, the proprietress has just released an excellent book with its main recipes: "At the Bahian table".

Excellent service, good food, proportional portions, has toys for children, in addition to a mini grocery store with souvenirs and products of its own production. Well decorated environment, it is not cheap but it is worth knowing.
