Awesome place to go with your family and friends. I would definitely recommend to get the gold pass at the beginning of the season, better than the silver. Also, the $30 cup with unlimited drinks pays for itselt within one trip.

So the company I work for did a great thing to show their appreciation...they got us tickets to Carowinds...yippie so excited. Unable to get the amount of tickets I needed I go online and purchase an extra ticket so my grandson could experience Carowinds for the 1st time...go to have a good day with my family and after 1 ride they close the rides due to weather. Ok cool I understand but we get there at 10:30am and by 12 rides are closed...so we walk around for a couple hours waiting and waiting...NOTHING...finally at 5 pm we leave and still never got to ride... As you probably already know...NO RAIN CHECKS!!! So disappointed #wasted money
We had several great trips here this year. Park was clean, safe and ride attendants made it extra fun for the kids. A good mix for a family with different age levels to do. As with every park, it s important to read up on rules. We learned season passes can scan only once per day, so get your hand stamped if you leave for lunch. No metal anything in water park or snorkel masks in wave pool. The teenagers favorite is Fury 325.
Great family fun. However it s very crowded on holidays & weekends. So if you wanna bet the crowds try going on a weekday. Just wish prices were a little more reasonable so larger families like ours could afford to go more often. & wish the prices for food wasn t so expensive. It would be nice to be able to go & eat there so you can stay all day & play.
The season pass plus the meal plan is a little pricey up front but it more than pays for itself after 3 park days. And now that they are good through "Scarowinds" and "Winterfest" it is an even better deal.
All of the Christian artists were a blessing For King and Country, Kari Jones and Her Husband , We Are Messinger, Micah Tyler, Disciple, Emcee Mr. Tallbox, and others.
Lots of roller coasters these days but staff dont seem to care how long it takes to turn around the rides. A lot of time wasted in lines from inefficiencies. Of course you can pay extra to avoid the unnecessarily long lines.
Haven't been to Carowinds in more than 5 years, and there have been many improvements in that time! Parking isn't one if them, but at least all 3 gates were open. Getting our season passes processed was a breeze, and even the long line through security moved quickly. Crowds were relatively low, so lines for rides we're reasonable without paying a small fortune for a fast lane pass. The area near the new Camp Snoopy has been mostly remodeled, with upgrades to restrooms and water fountains which include the ability to fill a reusable bottle (which you can bring in, empty). If you are only staying a short time and don't want to carry a lot, you can go into any restaurant or refreshment stand and get a cup of ice water for free.
My first time at carowinds ir scarowinds. It was ok. Alot of stuff was closed. The rides that I tried was good. The walk throughs or haunted rides, seemed, lazy or not very enthusiastic. I'll be coming back though. Maybe it was a bad day in the park. Try again next time.
Is a lot fun ,,,,but loooooooonnnnngggg lines and empty seat on almost every ride ,why can they as if a single person want to feel up empty seat, guys working just for the day , ,, ...fill thos empty seat please
Great rides and fun water park. Food service is horrendous, though. For breakfast I was given too much food I had to pay for, for lunch I was billed for food I didn't get, and dinner I was forgotten about completely after paying and had to find a worker to remind them I had paid for food and was told to wait after 20 minutes and they responded with a 'what did you order again?' no apologies what so ever all day. Hire employees that can think, please.
This is probably a GREAT place to visit for younger people, i have probably reached the age of limited thrills. I have probably visited Carowinds over 200 times in my life so i pretty much have been there and done that. I have been a season pass holder for many years and the prices go up every year. They do a good job keeping the place clean and tidy but for what it cost non gold pass holders for parking you would think they would replace/repair the parking lot. Drink prices are super insane too.
awesome rides, lines are long but if you show up on the right days!!! very fast. staff are always nice and happy. even tho it's summerbeak for most of them or weekend! definitely a great place
My daughter loves this amusement park! My niece said it s better than 6 flags!! I love how they keep the children entertained all year long not just the summer!!
We brought out 5 year old here. We were unsure of how much she would be able to do. She was able to go on plenty of the rides and the whole family had a great time. We will definitely be going back.
The rides here are great when they aren t closed or malfunctioning - which happened too often. The employees could use a great deal of work. They move at a snails pace and are clearly just collecting a paycheck. Every seatbelt check is slow and laborious. Numerous times, employees were fraternizing and flirting rather than tending to their rides. Where are the adults? Management? Ride waits are ridiculous on a Saturday (which is somewhat expected). The issue is that they are perfectly fine running rides that are not full. All day long, coasters were run with pairs of empty seats because the next people in line were a party of four and didn t want to split. I have never been at a park before that didn t attempt to find a pair to stick in that spot- especially with such a full park. The last straw was the Mountain Gliders. My son waited for an hour to ride. He was next in line and the employee counted wrong and never even called him over to jump on so she wasn t leaving 1 of the 10 cars empty. This is totally ineffecient and disrespectful to the guests waiting for so long. The parking lot is confusing and hard to figure out how to leave since there are very few signs showing you how to get out. Save your money and go to Cedar Point in Ohio. They have figured these little details out and have a much better park.
They ve put a lot of money and effort into making Carowinds better every year. Fury 325 is the best roller coaster ever! The new Camp Snoopy rides are great and my kid loves them. Plus all the new events like the Peanuts Festival, Winterfest, and Summer Nights have been great fun to go to. Will be renewing our passes for a third year in a row next year!!
I wish this place had a few more classics like adult Tea Cups and Tilt A Whirl. Those always feel like staples at an amusement park but Carowinds doesnt have either. If you enjoy roller coaters, they have pleanty!
Been there a lot is really fun employees are chill and mad funny I love them never get tired going there love the fury can t wait to go on the new ride they made this year wish I was allowed to give more than five stars I would give them the last numbers of numbers if there was a last number
Great Park. Season pass highly recommended. You cant enjoy the whole park in 1 day. Season goldpass is less than 2 days admission And you get free parking with gold or platinum pass.
This was my first time going to Scarowinds. I took my daughter and her friend. They had so much fun! The reason I gave it four stars and not five stars is because it wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. I recommend still getting the fast pass at SCarowinds because the lines are still long. We do not do that so we had to stand in those long lines. We did get the flight pass which allowed us to go through the mazes quicker. It was very enjoyable and I would definitely go again next year!
Worst experience at a theme park I've ever had. Park is organized like garbage. Impossible to navigate without having your nose in a map the whole time. Park soundtrack is TERRIBLE. Played piano covers of alternative rock songs (Green Day, All American Rejects, etc.) Or country covers of any type of song. Ruined the atmosphere. Food was far over priced. Eight dollars for eight chicken nuggets is the most ridiculous price I have ever heard! Staff were almost nowhere to be found throughout our visit. We waited roughly an hour to get on the Copperhead only to get kicked off when we were almost on because of incliment weather. No fast passes were awarded to riders at the front of the line. Came back later to wait another hour only to be told by clueless staff members that the ride had broken down and they had no idea when it was going to be back up. Some rides such as the Copperhead required you to rent a locker at a rate of $2 an hour, which is a waste of money when you cant even ride the ride you paid to keep your belongings in lockers in the first place. We tried other rides in the meantime, but we were seriously discouraged when we rode the Vortex, where the best part was getting OFF the ride because of how uncomfortable it was. Credit where credit is due, when they are working, some of the rides at Carowinds were genuinely fun. Fury 365 and Intimidator are my favorites. Overall, the only good thing about the park is its bigger well known rides, rest of it was a serious letdown.
Though this park has it's ups and downs, it really needs to listen to the reviews. Plenty of people complain about the size, and I shook it off, whatever right? Well this summer we brought our family, because we had to cancel our beach trip. One of the rides was too small, yet the employees did not tell us anything about the ride. The whole time, my friend's knees were hitting the front of the cobra. The drinks are another thing, your hi-c are way too sugary, and shouldn't be sold there. We got hi-c thinking it would be okay to drink it, spat it out the moment I took a sip, it tasted like someone took water and dumped a whole bag of sugar in their day pass cup. We also took my little sister, and she's small for her age, and she couldn't ride any of the rides because of it.
Went to SCarowinds have a blast was a little disappointed that half of the roller coasters were closed down and the weather was great so I was a bit confused the lines what kind of long next time I'll get a FastPass
Overpriced and horrible wait times. Discounted tickets were $46 a piece for a park that was only open for 7 hours, six of which was spent in lines. It took over an hour from the time we got to the parking lot to finally get into the park. The wait time for rides was usually 30 minutes or more and the price gouging was uncanny. It cost almost $50 to feed a family of four a small ChikfilA meal. Will never return.
Food isn't great in several places, though the ribs in Harmony Hall fall off the bone. The Chick-fil-A does not accept any kind of coupon! They've got several rides that are worth riding, including Fury 325, which makes the whole thing worth it.
I am biased. I've loved amusement parks all my life. The Fury 325 has won rollercoaster of the year for many reasons I experienced with my visit there.
It's always clean and the staff is usually kind. I enjoy going every year. Good clean family fun. The food is a little pricey, but all and all a fun day.
Winter Fest was terrible. Every parking spot was taken. South gate was closed making a mile walk from the car to the entrance. Once inside I was bumping elbows with people the entire time. Waited 1 hour for my little boys to ride the Snoopy train. I'll never do that again.
One of the best amusement parks I have ever been to! So much fun in every corner. The waterpark is the best way to cool off. The slides are great fun the wave pool is wonderful.
I love Carowinds. If you can afford it and love roller coasters definitely get the fast pass ultra. This lets you go through the fast pass lane for all the big rides and most other rides. Definitely worth not standing in line. Great food at Blue Ridge over near Copperhead Strike. Copperhead Strike is the newest coaster and it is great. Fast, fun and has great hangtime. If you just want to scream from fear and shock Fury is your beast. Also a relatively new water park with plenty of swimming areas. Also another really nice smaller child area with smaller rides and a playground. Great place for the whole family. Also Scarowinds near Halloween and Winterfeat for Christmas. Great year round.
I love it! Much better with a fast pass. Children with ADHD and difficulty waiting in long lines may prefer the water park. Still long lines for water rides but the wave pool is always available. Keep in mind there is alcohol served at this kid park and there is no security to keep anyone from walking out with your child.
Fun for all ages with an individual park for kids. The rides are super safe and they have plenty of rides and things to do. They don't just have thrill rides so if your not in to heights they got you. It's not possible to get bored with them. They have many restaurants. Only complaints I have is that the merchandise and food will empty out your wallet on top of the entrance fee. If you are going with someone who has a season pass they have a bring a friend coupon. And if you are looking to go a lot then I suggest investing in a season pass as it is cheaper in that case.
The park was amazing. Loved the rides, food, games, everything, only one bad thing. We came from NY to do family vacation in August. Going to tge park was a last minute choice and we never would have thought that it closed so early when its still summer for a lot of tourist, which are goid for business. The water park closed at 5 and the park closed at 8. Just because it is warm down there all year doesnt mean it is in the rest of the country. August is still summer for many people. My kids where very upset and didnt get to do a lot. Not worth the money to close that early. Would not pay for it again unless they are open longer. The business owners should research the months that families go on vacation.
I know being overweight is my fault however it's a handicap even if self inflicted just like being cripple. These theme parks other than Disney need to be accessible to us larger folks as well. Disney rides can be ridden by all sizes... but here 70 bucks for a ticket and just about 90% of the attractions are not big person accessible... this is very disappointing you should make the rides accommodate people of a larger size.. were people too we deserve to enjoy thrills too.
The upkeep isn't as good as I think it should be for price. I think they should have water rides for out in ride area. Had a good time but price is too high for what it kdders
We love coming here. We have the season pass and our kids(5 & 3) LOVE camp snoopy. The water park is a great place to spend the hot Carolina days and then ride some rides at night. My only complaint is to dining plan. We purchased the dining plan because we go there a lot, but it seems like the only food they have is either fried food or really filling. They don't have alternative sides for your meals it is almost always French fries so people on a diet or trying to eat healthy don't really have a ton of options. The dining plan should include the choice of a salad at EVERY dining location. Other than the food we love going here with the kids
We went for just 2 days but it was great fun. We took our camper to the campground attached to the Park. It was great, full hookups, free shuttle, game room, clean bathrooms.
We get season passes. We love everything carowinds! We do wish there were more smaller kids rides in snoopy land for our 3 year old, but we make due. All seasonal events are fantastic!
Now don't get me wrong I love roller coasters, but.... You have to get there right when gates open or at the most an hour later. We got there about an hour after gates opens and it was not bad. We got 3 rides done in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The food is way over priced. We went to a burrito place and the total was $30. This was for one bottle of water and 2 burritos. Then basically after that it was just crazy. I tried to get one the Fury 325, I was in line for about an hour and I was no where close to the entrance. We desided to go to the Carolina Cyclone. The line was not to bad, but as soon as we were at the front of the line waiting it BROKE. They took an 30 minutes to fix it. Our last ride was the Vortex. Really good and nothing was wrong with it. We rode 5 rides (about 45 minutes each), lunch (30 minutes), and tried to get on the Fury 325 (an hour). A total is about 5 hours and 45 minutes. Now this is great advertisement for the fast pass, but that is $63 for the premium. Now if you have 2 people plus the $126, 2 fast passes one for each person, the total is around $216-$238. The other option is get the season pass and that is $116 for the gold one. You would at least have to go there 3-7 days a year to get your moneys worth. The last thing I'm going to say is that you can't bring in your own food or drink. Now there needs to be some changes. Either keep the tickets the same price and lower food and drink price or vice versa.
I spent the day here with my niece when she came to town for a couple of days to visit. We had a blast riding all of the roller coasters. I would definitely recommend this place of you love roller coasters. Can't wait to see the place once they decorate for Christmas.
LOVED THIS PLACE,HAD AN EXTREMELY AWESOME TIME. THE FURY 325 WAS SO FUN AND SCARY AT THE SAME TIME. ITS BEEN MANY YEARS SINCE IVE BEEN TO ANY AMUSEMENT PARK AND THIS ONE HAD EVERYTHING THING ONE NEEDS TO HAVE A LEGENDARY TIME,BRAVO CAROWINDS....
