Been going Herr for 30+ years. Always a good time. Lots of big rides and new ones coming. No more water rides. White Water section and log flume are gone. There is the water park to get wet now. For those that wear glasses, have a sport strap or you will have to remove your glasses on the big rides. Food and drinks are rediculusly expensive.
Very fun! Long lines. Fast passes are a little too expensive so we had to wait in the long lines.
Super fun place to go with friends and family. The water park is a good place to cool down and get a tan going on or just chill. The rest of the park is full of good food, rides, and live music. You'll find little sweets, games, and gift shops around. The people working are always friendly and ready to help if you get lost! I love the rides even though the wait is always long. Would recommend going for sure.
Really fun place to bring the family but very pricey on the food though.
I have lived in Charlotte my whole life and Carowinds is a must for anyone in or visiting Charlotte who has never been before.
Fun. Went to winter wonderland and it was really nice. Wish they had more adult rides open but it was awesome having no lines to wait in.

Carowinds was great we went for 2 days straight and that Friday was hardly no wait but the water park by the end was over crowded..Saturday went to the water park first thing and it was lovely but then the ride lines were long so next time we planning for weekdays
First time at Scarowinds. We had an awesome time and the lines weren't terribly long either.

Too many people for the price. One day isn't worth the wait in line and fast pass for a family of five is out of my price range. Great attractions if you get a chance to ride them.
I was really scared at first riding the Fury, but once I got on that drop, it was amazing. The rides here are really cool, but I'm too scared to go on some lol. Like the windseeker. A lot of people enjoy it. I was told it has an amazing view up there.
Amazingly fun. Especially around halloween. Scarowinds is the best time to go if you love night time amusement. Everyone is always kind and patient with you. They keep their rides and buildings maintained. The food is great to. I recommend this place for family fun and big get togethers. !
Wintergreen was rather underwhelming definitely not anything I associate with Christmas. The story of why the original owner started it was interesting. Overall the only way this place stays open is nastalgia.
It was so fun only one break down on vortex but it was super fun with me and all my friends thank you carowinds for the fun time!ps tje Starbucks was amazing

Good park with lots of rides. Definitely get the fast pass and don't be fooled into thinking getting there at park opening is early enough. We got there right at 10 and the lines just to get through the bag check were huge!! Get there early, plan to wait a little extra for the rides, they take a long time to board, even with the fast passes. We saw a show in the Paladium and it was fantastic. Food is just okay, way overpriced but that's typical. Overall good experience, convenient to the highway!
The amusement to be in when in Carolinas. Fury 365 can have really long lines so try be there around late afternoon or 1st thing in morning. I wish they put-up better signboard for people to find their rides. You get a map when you get in which gives you good idea of rides' locations and their thrill level. I wish they have some app which can tell estimated wait time for each ride so that you decide where to go.
Worth every penny! Only criticism would be way too many rides not going out filled to capacity.
Had a great day with the kids... Mid week best time to go... Lines never over 5 minutes... And some had none at all...

Great amusement park! Delicious Cinnabon, funnel cakes, fancy fudge, and more! And they can't go wrong with a full Starbucks on the property. The Chick-fil-A menu is a bit small, but there are aplenty of other dining options with more to offer.
I'm not a huge fan of rides, but Carowinds offers something for a range of thrill levels, whether you want to tackle the newest double-launch coaster, the Copperhead Strike, or prefer Snoopyland's array of children's rides.
I still haven't been able to attend Rock the Park at Carowinds, but it's on my bucket list! Definitely go if you get the chance!
Was not impressed. Over 1/3 of the rides were not open. So if you didn't ride roller coasters you were out of luck. We have been to Darien Lake, Six Flags and DollyWood, this was the worst. We will never go again.
We take our international students to Carowinds almost every year on Labor Day, and I am always impressed by how well this place is run. Ticketing is well-organized and very efficient. Going through security at the entrance gate is a little bit of a headache, but I understand that it's for our safety, so it's good that they search our bags. The wave pool is always fun, and the life guards help us feel like we are monitored well but without being overly strict. Bus parking is free, so that's helpful for a big group. I am sure we will return to Carowinds many more times in the years to come.

It is a nice amusement park with exceptional food and pretty nice rides. My family and I have season passes because we live super close. And it is a great place to hang with family and friends.
Love the rides, however some of them are closed almost every time I go, fantastic polite workers, everything works smoothly
Food is very expensive, but great collection of rides. And if you go here, you cannot leave without riding Fury 325.
Best part is, the rides never EVER get old. I can ride the big roller coasters and the drop tower fifty times in a row (which I once did on the drop tower) and it will never EVER get old.
Great place to take the family, especially if you have small kids. Decorations are amazing at Christmas. Beware... it is not inexpensive.
It was my first time here. I enjoyed the day even though I didn t ride (I m scared,lol) but surprisingly there are other things to do even if you are a no rider so I was still entertained! The kids definitely had a good time!
It is an amazing park we have our season passes and we come frequently. They do have a big problem. Whoever was the employee that was working at the bumper cars July 3rd 2018 at 9pm she was very disrespectful and unprofesional. How do i explain to my child a smaller kid just got off these bumper cars but she who is bigger cannot ride.. they really need to get on the same page and if there are situations be polite about it she had a nasty attitude and we have NEVER had a situation with any other employee before.. very upsetting.
Went there with my camp and it was really fun!! Rides were awesome, and the water park was awesome too! Will go again!
You know it's really a 5 star but the fact they have zero maps up in the park gets a 3 star.
I've seen more "you are here" maps at a mall then here.
Yes you can get a paper map when you walk in but it's difficult to figure out where you even are.

Well it's ok. The prices on wayervis high 6.00 dollar's just for water. Lines need better organizing. Staff wasn't friendly either. Go back probably not. Only went because I got in free.

What a fabulous day! We went on Thursday which was fantastic because there were hardly any lines. We loved the price "everyone rides like a kid" online ticket 1/2 off basically. We stayed the night at a hotel so we ubered over and saved $30 on parking. Lots of places to choose from to eat. Locker rentals for fury and copperhead strike are $2 an hour..highly recommend!

Very nice set up we go every year ,but would be like to see more shaded areas or mist fans other than the swimming area.
For an older venue it is very well maintained. Sound quality is excellent. Great place to go for a concert.
We have been going to Universal Studios & Disney. It s not fair to compare Carowinds to those parks. For a small park it s not bad at all and twenty minutes from home.
Waiting in line to get into the parking lot for 3 hours just to have to wait 40 minutes to do one attraction before scarowinds closed. Not happy at all. 2 tickets and parking cost me almost 130 dollars online
Fun time. Great rollercoasters and waterslides. Staff not the most helpful if you lose important items. Do not take any items on the newest coaster.
It's not Disney World, but it's my family's happiest place on Earth! I grew up at Cedar Point as a kid and now that I live in SC, I'm so happy to be close to another great Cedar Fair park. Carowinds is great for family and has plenty of thrill rides for everyone. My kids' first coaster ride was Copperhead Strike and so that is our absolute favorite ride.
Roller coasters were a bit dated, most of restaurants closed, water park has multiple water slides under maintenance. A little bit of a disappointing visit.
Fun park, great layout, but worst "customer service" I have ever experienced anywhere. Advertising is misleading, season pass sales people mislead or lie about terms of deals. When brought to the attention of customer service, they respond by calling you a liar and insulting you. Ride attendants are rude, immature, teenagers who will fight and argue in front of guest. Ride attendants have allowed fights to cause them to rush through safety checks. Security staff is disrespectful rent a cops who think its appropriate to question disabled veterans health conditions. I have attempted to contact upper management about concerns and have been ignored. But if you can tolerate being treated this way, it is a fun park for all age groups. I'm just not sure yet if I can bear another year.
Workers are really snotty ask 4 workers for directions 2 of the 4 said didnt you get a map ?? Maybe you should have the one asking was my 13 year old grandson maybe they need a new job never going back and will never tell people to go there paid 27 dollars for a cheeseburger and fries with a bug juice and 2 slices of a pickle at the Dixie dinner wth
Carowinds is honestly one of the best theme park's ever. The rides are super fun and it's just a good time all around
Parking has drastically improved in efficiency and convenience. Try to remember that the employees are working super long shifts and are exhausted. They're doing a great job considering how tired they must be. If you are an adult, be prepared for lots of loud mouthed, misbehaving, scantily clad teens constantly in the way and and being generally disruptive.
Loved the timing I went!!! No lines!!! I understand hiring young people but you have to manage them. They would group up and forget they were at work I feel like. I had a blast other than that!!!
A good time but not worth the money for how long it was open. Rode 3 rides in the 5 hours it was open for $55. Doesn't seem worth the money unless you season pass.
I have been going to Carowinds since the 90s and I had a great time today!! The new rides are awesome!! It's just a lot more expensive now but still awesome!!
This is a really cool theme park. One thing, please do not try to compare it to the Orlando, FL theme parks, that's silly. It is great in it's own right.
The fact that it has the roller coasters and a water park in the same location is awesome. When we went I did not know about the water park. I would have spend more time there.

We went for Halloween during the day. My kids had a blast they received free candy bags and little pumpkins it was so cute. We didn't get to see the whole park because Scarowinds was about to start so we have to leave by 5 believe.

Lines were short because it was raining but they can t control the weather. Two stars were deducted for several out of service ATMs, most of the drink stands were closed and the over priced food was horrible.
Visited Scarowinds 2019 recently and found the atmosphere to be very, very nice. Holiday appropriate for sure. Having a good mix of rides available to jump on was nice. But after this trip I saw the value in the Express lane pass.. I was hoping to get to do everything this trip but time just didn't allow for it with just a general admission ticket. I also found the haunted houses to be pretty boring, hence the 4 star review. They were decorated nicely, but either the places didnt have enough jump scares or there just weren't enough actors to make it interesting. Overall it was a good experience. Would return again, with an upgraded pass that is.
Honestly not really impressed. We bought season passes this year and I hope we start having better experiences. The employees are extremely rude, do not interact with guests at all, and move at a snails speed. We were seriously on a kid ride for 25 minutes because the attendant was moving so slow checking everyone s belts. The bathrooms are AWFUL. Seriously, every single bathroom we went in was gross, toilet paper everywhere, toilets were nasty. You can tell it s just not managed well and employees are not happy. Rides are ok but food & drinks are outrageously priced.
Subpar amusement park. Memorial day week and half the rides were closed/not operating as well as most of the concession stands. The refillable cups could only be refilled at specific stands, which led to a lot of wandering the park to find them and some of the staff was clueless/unhelpful (Josh in the concession stand near the Boo Hill ride on 5/28). And, of course, there was no ticket price discount given for the ticket considering the number of inoperable rides...
I recommend a season pass every year, especially when you have children. Tis a great place to experience a fun fill day with family.

It is a well rounded park for its size. Gorgeous landscaping with plenty of shade and seating. Despite extreme heat, had stores to visit and cool down. Food is expensive. Found new favorite metal coaster with Fury! Do not leave park without a ride or two on it.
Great amusement park. Extreme roller coasters that make my Kiddo dream about being 5 inch taller! Anyway, there are plenty of others that he could enjoy. Food is good by over priced. If you are from the area is worth to have the annual pass that is amortized in a couple of visits. I recommend to spend at least a couple of days there.

A bit overpriced and the food is terribly underwhelming (it's pretty bad!), but the rides are excellent and the lines aren't long.
Great place for spur of the moment fun. The small part that disturbed me was the fact that on the two new rides that we rode, copperhead strike and fury 325 they will not let you store your belongings on the platform as they will on every other ride. So essentially this is just a way to get an additional 2.00. This isn't about the 2.00 nor the 5.00 small drinks etcetera. Just seems really petty and contrived.
All in all great time.
