Carolina Pet Place Review

Luna has fear-aggression. The staff is kind to isolate her so she isn t provoked by neighboring dogs. Luna is always well-cared for at Carolina Pet Place!

So I have some very mixed feelings about my visit. I m in town staying my mother for the summer because of a family emergency. I was not expecting to have to find a new groomer. And when I started calling around every where was booked out for months or not accepting new clients because of COVID. When I got a hold of Carolina Pet Place they were so friendly and were able to fit me in the next week. I have a standard poodle, and because of all the family trouble, he was probably a week or two overdue for a hair cut. When I arrived at their location for drop off, everyone was again super friendly. I told the groomer what I wanted and she seemed to understand completely. Everything went smoothly and I was just so thankful that they could fit him in. Cut to pick up time. A gentlemen came out to take my card (very kind, customer service was top notch!), I asked if they accepted gratuity, and if I could give it to the groomer when she brought my dog out. He said he d deliver it to her because he was the one bringing my pup out. I didn t think much of this, gave him the tip, and he came back with one of the worst groomed poodles I ve seen in my life, and it was my dog!!!!

This cut is comically bad. I almost laughed out loud when I saw him, but I didn t want to be rude when everyone had been so nice. The groomer took too much off the body, completely shaved his topknot off, one ankle is higher than the other 3, and there s a patch of hair left that should have been removed during the sanitary cut. I don t know why this cut was so bad. My boy is the best behaved dog at every groomer. His usual groomer, says cutting him is like meditation for her because he will stand there and let you do anything. I m gonna guess this particular groomer just doesn t have experience with poodles, something they could have given me a heads up about. But in the grand scheme of things, he s healthy, clean, he can see again (his topknot was quite long), and they did give him a cute little bow (which really just added to the humor).

Carolina Pet Place has some of the nicest employees on earth. My mom uses them to board her dogs and has had nothing but positive experiences. And when my dog desperately needed a hair cut while I dealt with a family emergency, they definitely gave him a hair cut. Their prices are fair. Their customer service impeccable. But please, please do NOT take your poodle there to get groomed unless you HAVE to.

We highly recommend Carolina Pet Place for your 4-legged family members. We use them when we have to travel and cannot take our Lab-mix with us on the trip. They are reasonably priced, and our dog always seems to have a good time. He always remembers the Pet Place when we make return visits - he jumps out of the car and cannot wait to start his stay.

I have entrusted this place for a few years now. Giving specific instructions on how to take care of my pet. Last week I sent my pet here for a comfortable stay while on vacation...i asked them about keeping her cage with blankets in there with her for security, they were not in compliance with my instructions.she was there for 2 nights. When I asked my friend to pick her up before they closed after her two night stay,my friend showed up at 8:00 in the morning, and asked where she was staying. They took her back in the area, and my friend noticed that all the kennels didn't have anything in them. My pets kennel did not have her cage in with her as requested, which was her security area to sleep. I have a picture of what my dog looked like when my friend came to pick her up, she was very sad looking, and not happy. I will not take her back there again or recommend this establishment to anyone. VERY VERY disappointed!!! I am saddened that I put my trust in this place knowing that my pet was in a uncomfortable place that smelled and looked like a dog pound. when my friend calmed her down she dropped her off at ruff housing ...she was very happy and ran into ruff housing a few hours later

also, as i was getting ready to take her in Carolina Pet Place ... a lady was trying to get her golden retriever out of the car to go in....the lady exclaimed"why am i having problems getting her to go in...i've brought her here before." this should have been my sign!

We have been bringing our little dog here for 12 years to be groomed, and have never had a bad experience. We love Rickie Horn the groomer and all of the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.

Took care of our elderly dog. Everything went well.

I took my dog to get a haircut and he came out looking like a street dog!!! I never ask the lady to shave him but hi came out with hair all chopped up! Horrible hair cut. Will NEVER come back and I do NOT recommend this place to anybody!

My dog has been boarded twice in his 3.5 year life, both times here. The staff are all super friendly, and prices seem reasonable. Several of my friends and my vet gave great praise to carolina pet place, and I see why.

I have taken my mother's dog to CPP for several years now to be groomed. He is not that well socialized, but he seems comfortable seeing the groomer. She always does a great job with him. I once had one of my cats with me and I asked if I could board her for just 2 hours before she had an appt. next door. They put her in the kitty room and didn't even charge me! The staff is always very kind.

Staff is wonderful. I'm comforted knowing that my dog is well taken care of when I am out of town. Goose doesn't ever look back when we drop him off. He happily walks back with the staff. Thanks for providing a safe place and taking such great care of our pup!

They were so good to Gracie and didn't get annoyed when we called to check on her.

I highly recommend CPP! I m a first responder on the coast and last during hurricane Florence myself and my other half who is also a first responder were called in to work the storm. I called several places in the Winston-Salem area to inquire about reservations for our at the time 5 kids with paws with no luck. CPP not only took our reservation (knowing we were unsure of how long they would have to stay) but also gave us a discount! Last year they stayed for almost 2 weeks, same story this year with hurricane Dorian, only we now have 7 kids with paws and they only stayed 5 days! Two years in row CPP took AMAZING care of our kids and gave us a discount! I could go on but I think I ve gotten my point across! One last thing ... THANK YOU Chris and staff for being there for our kids and us!!

My Pets love going there and they receive excellent care. I highly recommend Carolina Pet Place.

Staff is wonderful here A+ service. My reactive dog had a difficult time at Rough Housing... however at Carolina Pet Place he's well taken care of and I can tell he just loves the staff too. We use the day care, grooming and boarding services. Another benefit is access to the veterinary office next door.

Have only used the groomer. So far the best we have had for my 5yo Yorkie "Ruger". Just booked another haircut.

I've been boarding my shih tzu and now my yorkie there for 10 years, and there has never been an issue. The staff is courteous, the grooming is great and my doggies are taken care of well.

My dogs snoopy and Ollie love going here. They also are amazing at giving them hair cuts. We used to go to petsmart but this place is so much better at hair cuts. I ve never seen seen such google hair cuts. They are nice and loving to my dogs. I always recommend this place. 10 out of 10!
