I came to Carmine's with my partner for a midweek lunch on a Friday. The service was superb, the food was really high quality. But when we ordered a meal to share between us we didn't realise that we were ordering a meal that would feed a famished family of 6.

I ve been a long time customer at Carmines and after a long time I was very disappointed with the service. I am a essential worker at a health care facility and I was one of my co worker s birthday and we wanted to treat him to lunch. I was not satisfied with the portion amount that was given. Carmines only gave us 13 wings and the manager on the phone keeps saying that it s 24. Where is the empathy for the front line employees. The Penne Alla Vodka portion size was so small I couldn t even share it with all of the staff members. Also the Caesar salad was not enough.

Carmine s Italian Restaurant - Upper West Side is a legendary eaterie and if you haven't tried it, you are depriving yourself of one of the jewels on the Westside and need to give it a try. The catering side of the Carmine s Italian Restaurant - Upper West Side business is worth trying to if you want a platter of great food for your next party. I got a half sheet of the BBQ chicken and pork fried rice for our Easter feast and everybody loved having something a bit different but definitely delicious.

Love it awsome food good service. If you go, be sure to bring a healthy appetite. You will not leave hungry. I recommend the porterhouse steak as one of your dishes. It's out of this world.
Parking could be a pain though, but that's Manhattan...

Made a reservation for the Christmas Eve dinner with my parents. We waited for about 20min but then were promptly seated. The service was v attentive all night despite it being the night before Christmas. The food was amazing. We had veal and accompanied with a moscato. My parents really loved the food and the family vibe at Carmine s. Overall a beautiful evening!

I had the penne alla vodka and it was delicious! They serve family style here, so the dishes are meant to be shared. I found the portions to be very generous for the price. I actually visited here by myself and left with 2 leftover meals. Definitely give Carmine's a try!

Have loved Carmine's for many years, but it's so crowded. You would also think that since it has been in business for so many years, has had so many customers, and has amassed quite a bit of money, that it could afford new chairs. We had to request different chairs because the ones we had weren't stable. Outside of that, the food was delicious, as usual. Large portions, so you have to be mindful if you're on a diet. Wait staff was very courteous and even entertaining. A recommended New York staple!

Would give 10 stars if I could. Reservation not required, but glad we had one at 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Was a fam of 8, ages 8-68 yrs. Had the BEST waiter, Charlie!
But the food...best calimari EVER. Salad crisp and cold. Since food is served 'family style' pasta with 'holy cow, all the meat' meat sause and perfect pasta; melt-in-your-mouth chicken scalloppine with lemon and butter; plus 2 kids meals....were all too full for dessert, and had a take-home bundle.
But the deep, rich 'authentico' flavor of the red sauce on the pasta will stay on my palate in the best possible way until I get to go back and have it again.

One of the worst, most disrespectful experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I booked a reservation with them 3 days in advance. they do not tell you that it's still a "first come first serve" reception.

When my party and I arrived we were told that the full party must be present in order to be seated (fair enough) and that we would have 15 minutes to wait for the full party to arrive before they would move our reservation and treat us as walk-ins.

10 minutes into that wait time I told them "Nevermind the rest of our party, they can't make it, seat us now, please" to which I was told "Oh, don't worry, take your time, *We* aren't ready for you yet, we'll call you when we are". So we waited another ten minutes for our full party to arrive, when they did we told the hosts again. To which they responded "Well, your grace period of fifteen minutes expired, so you'll have to wait for our next available opening...30 minutes from now"

These people don't care about their customers at all, it was very busy the night we went and it was plain to see that since they had so many people coming and going, they were completely ambivalent about making good on their reservation. They only care about making money, they do not care about customer satisfaction. Take your business elsewhere, or they'll just leave you standing around for hours on end.

This area is one of the most disrespectful places that I ve ever been. The worst thing that happened was that when we ordered for a reservation prior to arrival, they said we didn t need to do reservation. As we walked in they had asked for our party name and reserved table. This is a very bad family area to go to and I suggest somewhere else in the area. Thank you for your time.

They serve soooo much food. 1 dish, including the appetizers, can serve 4. It's all delicious. I ordered the calamari and lasagna. You will have to talk loud because the restaurant is loud.

Our server pretty much ignored us the entire time we are at Carmine's except when it was time to present the check, of course. Fortunately, the lovely female manager on duty stepped in (and up) and saved our dining experience from being a complete disaster. Many thanks to her.

I have been to both locations of Carmine's and this place is a bit better then 44st. If you plan to go to 44st you MUST HAVE RESERVATIONS! Or else head here. The space is larger then the 44st and the waiting time is not too long. The Italian food is family style so bring your friends and family because there will be food left over. The customer service here is better then most Italian restaurants.

My food was excellent. Just the way I wanted my meals. The waiter will cater to your need. You must try the chicken parmigiana stuffed mushroom and baked clams. Afterwards try the dessert Taramisu.

I know that half of New York cares about this and half of New York does not and you're all wonderful: Carmine's is overpriced. Huge portions, perfect for big families . . . but if you're on a date you're going to end up with a big check and delicious leftovers. A little pricey for the Upper West Side but I guess in many neighborhoods this is the new normal.

If you don't know Carmine's...you don't know amazing food! From Vegas to NYC; ALL of their locations are done to the 10s! I can't put into words how amazing the food tastes. The portions are huge. They are always busy but the service is never lacking.

Love Carmines. Can't go wrong eating here every single thing is great, large family style portions example lasagna is enough for 3-4 people everything is shareable. Wait can be long reservations are recommended because it's alwaaaays crowded. Tourists love this place and for great reasons. Pretty casual. Can be costly.

Excellent food. Very busy. Very casual Best to make reservations. Clams Linguine, portobello greens salad were our favorites. Portions are large family style. You must go with a group of 6 or more to really enjoy a variety of dishes. I would not recommend going with just your date.

At first, I was not happy with the way they handled the group because you have wait until everyone is there to be seated. But then, they explained why and it makes sense. Once you're in, the food is great and the ambience is nice. They're very busy, but they try to give accomodate you.

I love this place. Everything is family style. The baked clams are delicious and so is everything else I ever tried. (Chicken cutlets, spaghetti, sausage....and more.)

Veal Marsala is amazing!

The wait staff is very attentive. The tables are set-up well, not too close to each other.

Prices are fair considering the portions you receive.

Great place overall!!

One of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in the world.. Love the food and service! This time Charlie was our server and he is my absolute favorite server ever. He made the experience spectacular! Even if the food was awful (WHICH IT MOST DEFINITELY WAS NOT... PICTURES TO FOLLOW!!!!! ) I would return just to sit in his section he was friendly and funny and he made our friends first visit/birthday dinner truly special. He recommended some amazing dishes everything was perfect. The food and service is worth the trip and the wait (if you didn't make reservations) my God this was an amazing extraordinary dinner! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for some amazing food and amazing service . I hope they never change... I also recommend this location more than the one on 44th...i promise you'll love it I've been coming here since 2003 every time beats the last.

Great food. Professional staff. I always order take out and food is always great and well packaged. Never have to wait , food is always ready upon arrival. I forgot my wallet at the bar and the bar staff ran out to give it to me. Much appreciated. Thanks!!

The waiter we had was the best his name is Rahmel ( sorry if I spelled it wrong). We had 11 in our party and had family style. The food was fabulous which consisted of prime rib, baked ziti w/sausage, shrimp scampi and shrimp w/linguine. We also had as a starter cesare salad and calamari which was also great. The wait for our table was a little long but well worth it. I will definitely be back again .

Food was plentiful and amazing! Very loud restaurant, hard to hear anyone talk. While there is an accessible entrance through the Graystone Hotel, there is no place to put walkers, crutches, etc.
