Relaxing environment and friendly staff makes your stay at Carlisle Bay one to remember. Beautiful beach, turquoise water and tranquil atmosphere. My one criticism would be, the dining options contain a variety of international cuisine with average execution, whereas I would have preferred to see a bit more 'authentically local' food options that are well executed.

Carlisle Bay Antigua is a Resort in the Village of Old Road, Antigua, situated in the Carlisle Bay Harbour. The Hotel is on the beach as it were and it is on a generously sized property with well kept grounds and scenic views of the Harbour and the surrounding areas. The hotel rooms and cottages are nested between quite a large number of tropical palm trees giving an ambience of a Tropical Paradise. Although the Resort is one reasonably large property it has many facets which seam to be self contained, so one can concentrate on enjoying their amenity or facility of choice without getting in the way or interacting with others not on the same path at that moment, for instance the pool is more within the confines of the hotel than at seaside.
Activities on land or sea are part of the package and the friendly and helpful staff are all geared towards the comfort and well being of their guests. The hotel offers Destination Wedding and Honeymoon Packages complete with a dockside dinner for two by candlelight or a non-electric alternative. Events are hosted at the Hotel and the restaurants are more than happy to accommodate visitors not necessarily staying at the hotel. The Entrance pedestrian bridge over a large open aquarium/fountain with large colourful fishes do add that extra touch to the whole ambiance of the place, they have a strange calming effect on me.
All in all Carlisle Bay Antigua is a great Resort/Hotel to visit whether for a short or extended stay,
Paradise. The Ocean Suites are spacious, beautifully equipped and on the beach. Cannot express how much we love it. Been back four times it s so good. Expensive, so look out for offers and early bird booking.
My wife Stephani & I just got back from Antigua. What a beautiful place!! The pictures look amazing but they still don't do justice for just how breathtaking the place actually is. We took a boat out for the day & had the opportunity to anchor down & stop in Carlisle Bay to grab some lunch & a few drinks. This resort is top notch & lives up to the 5 star rating for sure. The food was superb! The drinks from the bar were refreshing & made to perfection by the bartenders. The entire staff at this resort was so friendly & kind. Everyone here just seemed so happy like it was contagious or something! Even from the patio where we had lunch you could tell that this hotel/resort was kept so very clean & neat. The aroma's from outside smelled so fresh it was almost spa like from patio it was incredible. We had the honor & Privilege & were lucky enough to actually get to meet the owner of the resort & she is a First class person. We didn't even know about Carlisle Bay before we went & had lunch there but needless to say we will be coming back to Antigua very very soon & Carlisle Bay is where we want to book our next trip. My wife & I have traveled all over the Caribbean & without a doubt this is our favorite place. I have nothing but great things to say about Carlisle Bay & from the Owner, down to the management, to the servers, the bartenders, the waters sports crew, the groundskeepers, etc.... everyone there made us feel right at home & gave us a big welcoming embrace that left quite an impression on us. We will be back very soon. You cannot go wrong with this place you will not regret it. The only thing we regret is not staying longer!
Always a pleasure here. As a former employee, I miss being here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the amenities are top notch, breath taking views, and the comradery among staff is contagious.
Good beach and big rooms, the service is nice but very slow and not properly trained. You need to ask 3 to 4 times to get anything done. The property needs maintenance too, definitely not 5 stars. Don't pay more than $300 a night.
