Good price for good meal. Not the best ever but the best at this price ! Beautiful view of the port and military ships. Lunch specials is good deals.

20 minute line for a drink because only 2 bar staff during peak holiday season...the other time I went security was very rude...if this venue wasn't on the harbour it would be empty...poor example of Australian tourism

Sydney has a woeful nightlife with lockout laws. Security are thugs

Cargo Bar is perfectly located for either afternoon drinks or late night clubbing. The bar downstairs is quite informal and has many seats and pool tables during the day. Upstairs is more formal and you can get guest membership as it gets very busy at weekends. On a Thursday they do cheap pizzas and cocktails. The Cosmopolitans are great.

I'm aware you have no rights as a smoker but apparently if you go for a cigarette they clean up your drink and there's nothing hey can do

Booked this as a birthday dinner for my boyfriend as a cute experience. It was a cold night but expected there to be some sort of heating inside the igloo to keep us warm (or at least blankets) - there was nothing.
The food was barely warm and well below average. It wasn t even a busy night, there were 2 other igloos and 2 tables inside (with heaters, at least they were warm). We left after half an hour of getting there and went somewhere else to eat.
Honestly, I would never go back. I wouldn t recommend for anyone to even give this a go. It seems they ve put more money into marketing and advertising it as an experience, than it actually being one.
You re better off spending that money going bowling and eating there. The food would be comparable, it would be warm, and you d also get to bowl.

Transitions wonderfully from a pub feel to a night club. Cheaper drinks and great DJs. The outside section is great for when you need a break from dancing. Its also free entry at the start of the night

Upstairs is alright but nothing exceptional but downstairs is usually overcrowded and crap girls

Decent bar/club on Darling Harbour. There are better clubs around and this isn't a must visit, but if you do end up here it's not an issue. I haven't had any personal issues with the security guards but most of them are sarcastic and rude lowlifes who can't achieve anything better. The way I've seen them act to others is appalling - including pretending to offer people to get in after lockout before shutting them down.

Cool bar. Bouncer was overly aggressive inside about people dancing. Killed the mood.

Spent the afternoon here with a glass of wine and a steak. Had a great time despite a huge crowd. It only means that they have the qualities of an excellent bar. DJ who was spinning earlier was so good looking. Met a lot of Aussi hotties here too.

Had sharing platter for lunch. Not bad and came quickly.

There customers I was treated really good here and enjoyed my night here where as other nights I have been to other nightclubs and wasn't treated that good at all cargo gets 5 stars from wish I could give it 6

Very pleased with my meal and the service. lovely spot on the Harbour would have not worry going again. It was during the week and i like the quiet. So maybe very different on the weekends. It also seems like a party bar too on weekend night gud if they have some cool bafs playing.

Happy hour is a great stop for a cheeky bevy with a view after work whilst chilling to great music.

This place has no special set up for birthday s especially if it s a large group. They have no birthday packages, no deals and all they want to do is take your money from your pocket. We arrived in a large group hoping we would be sat inside due to the weather conditions however, we were told to sit outside with heaters far away from the tables as possible. If I could give this place zero stars I would. If I knew the reservations would be the same as sitting with the rest of the public, I wouldn t have made a reservation in the first place. We had strangers taking our table from the very beginning. The food was the only thing good about this place but it was still overpriced and it s still not as good of an experience if everything else is intolerable. The drinks were overpriced and the bartender told me that they had ran out of jugs to sell. As if a bar runs out of alcohol knowing that they should be selling alcohol the whole night. The cups that were supplied were also dirty and clearly had not been washed properly. The toilets are foul. Everytime you went past the men s toilets, it would stink like a sewer. Strangers (men) kept walking in to the female bathrooms looking for people, I m not sure what the security was doing at the time but the toilets felt unsafe. The female bathrooms were atrocious, the floors were covered in toilet paper and urine, knowing that no one had been cleaning the toilets for a while. There was toilet paper clogging the sinks and the smell wasn t so great either, there was no ventilation at all in both bathrooms. Also, I had supplied a birthday cake. The staff clearly knew that there was a birthday and did nothing special or provided no service to bring out the cake, all they did was hand it back to me in the bag I bought it in. I honestly wouldn t recommend this place for anything. If you want a quick drink or brunch I would recommend this place for a quick pit stop. But, if it s for anything else, I don t recommend it. At all. Clearly there s not enough staff for cleaning and hygiene maintenance and the security guards should be more concerned about people s well-being and safety rather than walking around doing nothing. I hope this review reaches manangement and something is done about this. You ll lose service if you don t take reviews like this into account.

Great Bar to catch up with family, friends, acquaintances, business associates or alike. Atmosphere is welcoming and prices reasonable.

Cargo bar seems to be quieter (fewer people lining up, and smaller dance area) than before but nothing bad about this place.

First time back after 10 years and not much has changed except for the age of the crowd. Really enjoyed the old school RnB music (was there on a Saturday night). Convenient location because there's a cab tank behind the venue. Great when you want to have a few drinks and then head on home.

Great food and service. Staff very pleasant. Only one issue. Sea gulls are a nuisance when food is left on the tables located outside.

The staff seating people were very helpful, this is where the praise ends. Poor menu, very smelly toilets, lack of shade at some outside tables.

As an events company and group activity agent we have worked with Cargo Bar for many successful years. However, since the recent refurb and change of management with Jeremy and his A team the service and end customer experience is the best it's ever been! Highly recommend.

Very disappointing night. Went out with my wife and friends, had good time, few beers, the music wasn't excellent but we all enjoyed it until the manager approached me and asked to leave the place as I am too drunk and can barely keep my balance, which wasn't true at all. I must admit I had few (4) beers but that isn't much in my opinion. We started drinking around 9:40 pm, the situation happened before 1 am. I was speechless, didn't want to argue, but seriously- very disappointing moment for me and all my friends. We left the place and had fun in pontoon, no trouble at all in there.
Can't recommend at all. Feel humiliated at the moment.

Cargo is the place to go to catch up with your mates. It has a great vibe, people who come here are friendly, fantastic harbour view and they provide fresh bar snacks. They've satisfied Sydneysiders for a very very long time so they must be doing something right.

Both the chicken burger and parmigiana were decent.

Cheap, good steak. When it turns into a bar/club the staff act too entitled.

Great pizza, cold beer and the best service you'll find in the city. 5 star establishment.

Stone cold cheeseburger. Stone cold chicken burger. Inedible. Could only eat the fries, which tasted nice and were hot. A shame since the burgers were $20. Felt really ripped off. Waiter didn't care less when we asked him to please pass on to the chef. No apology. Won't be back.

Can't go wrong for a Friday lunch in summer at Cargo. Get in early before the crowds and chow down on a decent schnitzel.

Iconic bar in Sydney, near/in Barangaroo. Drinks are at the high end price wise, but the atmosphere is good, music was good, with options to be inside or outside on the large balcony. Plenty of comfortable, group oriented seating for when you need to take a break from dancing, had a little too much to drink or are just feeling old.

Okay, I don't eat out too often as it's a bit hard for me to find a place that will offer food that I actually like, but my friend just came to Sydney from Melbourne and booked a hotel in the CBD near Darling Harbour, so to make it easier for him I agreed to go out with him in that area.

It was hard to find a place to sit down and eat, but then we found Cargo Bar & Restaurant.

Well, maybe if you want a drink - this place is for you.
We popped in to get some food. Well - you do offer food, right? Right.
I got steak and my mate got chicken tenders.
I am so sorry but it was the worst steak I've ever had. Yes, it was medium, all fine - but the meat itself? Where do you get it from? It was just not yummy at all. AT ALL. I couldn't even finish it - not because I was full, but because I didn't like it.
It was mentioned that steak comes with the salad. What you forgot to mention was that 'salad' is just grass. No cucumbers, no tomatoes. Just grass.
My friend didn't like his tenders either, he mentioned they were TOO spicy (he is Indian, he is used to spices!) - I didn't try cause don't like spicy food.

On top of that, they brought our food separately. I got my steak and then, maybe 5-7 minutes later, he got his tenders. My steak got cold by the time my friend received his food - that's a bit strange, you don't usually do this... I can't eat when my friend hasn't yet received his food - that's impolite...

Anyway, I am absolutely upset, didn't like this place. If you are after some yummy food, Cargo Bar is not for you.

I get a super amazing $10 steak with chips, sauce and good salad (grass, cucumber, tomatoes) from Tennyson Hotel in Mascot. That's just to mention that your $10 steak is not the only one in Sydney / your steak is not the cheapest one.

I don't eat sauces, the only sauce I can tolerate is mushroom sauce, which you didn't have, that's why I refused to have any sauce. I never have any dressing on my salads either, so I would never complain about a salad being not good enough just because there's no dressing and will never complain about the steak being not good enough only because it comes without sauce - that's what I am used to.

Also, when I was entering the restaurant, I took a look at the menu. Steak that I noticed was $20, not $10. I even have a photo of the menu left on my phone. It wasn't me who made the order, it was my partner, so I wasn't aware that the steak price is actually $10. Is it some kind of promotion?

Even if it was some kind of promotion, still - there are much better steaks served for $10 in Sydney. Do you serve different rump steaks for $10 and $20?

Thank you for letting me know where your meat comes from. I am a great steak lover and I am surprised myself that I didn't like my yesterday steak THAT much - but I swear to God it really was the worst steak I've ever tried in terms of taste.

I was here earlyish on a friday night (9.30pm) and was impressed by the quick bar service and fine tunes on the dance floor.

Suddenly it got really busy and that would have been when the cruise boats docked.

I recommend hit this place early for a great boogie

This is a bit of a strange place - not sure what kind of vibe they are going for, but it seems to be stuck in the 2000s. Nothing wrong with the service, but the decor is pretty horrible. Tends to attract a younger drunker crowd, make of it what you will. There are better venues along that strip of water front.

We had an excellent time at Cargo Bar for a work event! The night we went was also Star Wars/ Cinco de Mayo themed, and there were fun decorations, as well as a taco stand (yummy but expensive tacos) and themed bingo! It was lots of fun and well organised. I will definitely be back with friends for our next night out

Cargo Bar is fantastic for Christmas work functions. Overlooking the harbour, it sits a great location in the King St Wharf. Services can be busy during the Christmas period, and it is important to find a good events manager to look after your event.

This is my new favourite bar in the Darling Harbour area. The drinks are reasonable (XXXX was $8) and the staff are friendly and extremely welcoming. On Friday night we were greeted with great door people and a free can of Red Bull. The music inside was at the right volume, you could hold a normal conversation without having to yell. The lines are small and finding a seat is easy. This is an ideal stop when starting a pub.club crawl in the City. We will be back!

I work nearby and go here regularly for lunch and after work drinks, nice selection of beers on tap. Service is great and staff are friendly.
