Alpine Meadows & Homewood Mountain Ski Resort Review

Great place to teach children and adults to ski. I'll be back.

It's terrible, don't go here, skiing isn't fun at all, stay in the bay and do workout classes

Amazing skiing and customer service at this fantastic ski resort. Love the family style lodge and the Last Chair is a fantastic place to grab some apres beers and let everyone know how good your turns were that day!

Best resort in Tahoe area! Still a huge mountain though so its good to pay attention while you indulge in all that nature has to offer. Best food on mountain is TREATS near the tickets office.

Perhaps the best snow in the Tahoe area. Likely the best traverses to bowl skiing, too.

I will never be coming back to this mediocre mountain. Nothing was groomed today even though it was chopped to hell right from the start of the day. The food offered in the cafeteria is easily the worst of any Tahoe resort and very expensive, I m talking $11 for a small soup and $14 for a premade soggy sandwich. On top of it all, the staff seems to be running in half time, it took twenty minutes to get my lift ticket even though five people were in line. The only staff I saw really doing their job was the lift line crew. No thanks I won t be coming back.

Essentially for advance skiers/snowboarders I would say. The lift ticket price is also very expensive, but I think mainly that's because it can be used at two snow resorts.

Awesome resort (when there is snow). Some really good slopes.

I'm a green-blue level and the runs here are more like advanced blue.

The most non-commercial ski resort with some of the best intermediate skiing in Tahoe.

Always better conditions and less crowded than Squaw.

Great place! Also great services - I dropped my phone there during the ski season but they managed to find the phone in the summer and mailed it back to me even it's seven month later!

Best technical hill in Lake Tahoe area and wonderful for family skiing.

KSL management is ruining this gem. Still has some of the best terrain and tree skiing in Tahoe though. It's a damn shame.

It was great back country with relatively easy access. So much snow so far in 2017.

I skied Alpine a year ago. The skiing was good. I rented a locker to hold my stuff during the day. The locker company is rerunning the same charge multiple times against my card this year (I haven't been up yet) in an apparent scam. Beware.

What a gem!! Alpine keeps the Tahoe vibe alive. The new lift, "Hotter Wheels" makes stormy days way better! It may seem like a small resort but you gotta hike/traverse quite a bit to get to all the good places <3

Great runs and good lifts. Perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers. It can get pretty crowded so get early to get a good parking spot

Down to earth & understated. Focused on skiing with less glitzy distractions. Less crowded slopes facilitated by finite parking so get there early on very busy weekends. Huge variety of terrain spreading folks out amongst multiple bowls. Lots of hiking opportunities to challenging "side country" skiing. Great views of Tahoe top of Lakeview, Roundhouse, & Summit chairlifts. ATT cellphone coverage limited (use texting), Verizon has very good coverage. Lodge has good amenities with a couple bars. The Chalet is a good on-slope midday stop for a drink/snack with outside seating. During core season, there's the "Ice Bar" on the Sherwood side for drinks/snacks with outside chairs.

Alpine is filled with wide blue and black lanes. Safer than Squaw when you compare collisions due to lanes merge.

Comfortable runs, nice people. More of an old school facility compared to Squaw.

The road leading to the resort could be improved. Sketchy at times. After a storm, is when you want to enjoy the mountain. The road is one lane and narrow. Scary with 2 wheel drive. Lots of shaded area and solid ice on the road.

Super fun. Firm in the am and very soft in the afternoon.

A great place for intermediate level skiers. Not much for beginners though.

Awesome resort! Plenty of groomed runs and short lines (on a Thursday). Prices are reasonable too. But the phone reception and wi-fi was pretty bad (as is with most ski resorts). The wi-fi is better on the second floor of the cafeteria though.

One big tip is to get a locker for the season if you ski and/or have a lot of stuff to carry. There's a locker room you can rest in and change in. VERY convenient so you don't have to carry your skis back and forth.

Great snow but no lifts are running. High snowfall closed down the mountain til Thursday:(

Good for families, nice amount of blue runs, the express lifts help you get in a lot of runs in a day. The lodge is spacious with lots of tables and chairs, easy to find people. Good place to work if you aren't going to ski with the rest of the family. The cafeteria has a lot of pretty good options. A nice vibe, classic ski lodge. The golf cart lift service to the car is great!!

It's a good place for skiing and boarding. Not the largest resort but there is a good amount of runs that will fill a day. Lifts are generally kept nice and the staff was helpful except the ticket lady who didn't say more than 2 words to me... Whatever. They have Coke as well. It's 4 dollars, but at least it's there.

The colors of this place are beautiful, the lush vegetation, the colorful flowers... As you walk, you admire these unforgettable views.

When it is snowy, the place is spectacular, and you can try skiing!

Absolutely stunning ski resort. I went to get ski lessons with my sister both as beginners and received excellent instruction at a great value. Not to mention the breathtaking views off the back porch of the resort and the beautiful ski runs themselves. Food in the main cafeteria area is very expensive but the whole atmosphere there is exactly what you'd expect from a top rated ski resort like this. Overall this place is awesome and I will absolutely return. This place alone makes a trip to tahoe worthwhile.

Nice mix of intermediate and difficult runs. Easy access to all the runs. The views of Lake Tahoe are sublime. Parking was close to lifts. Downside: very high lift ticket prices.

Best ski resort for families in north tahoe. Old Tahoe feel without the over development of Northstar or Squaw.

Good family resort- less pretentious than Squaw. Less advanced slopes but an approachable mountain and good diversity of types of terrain. You ll also see adaptive skiers on slopes- they have an adaptive ski school!

Good-ish snow, comprehensible parking, decent bar. Generally worth a visit.

Definitely a local's kind of mountain. You can feel it in the air the moment you drive in . There's not much to do in the lodge. I went to the only coffee bar there 3 times and each time the staff working there just looked like they hated life. It was very disappointing. Not what I'm used to at ski resorts. The mountain is not as crowded as others in the area , with lots of short(er) runs. Though it feels like a small mountain, there was a lot to explore and discover. Overall a good local mountain
