Cardinal Golf Course Review

The experience is ultimately compromised by the arrogant and conceited senior staff members.

Course is in great shape...ticked with the marshall (Michael) who was pushing us to play quicker when the twosome in front of us were holding us up.

We wanted to have a family friendly game of golf, but had a terrible experience at this course. We were rushed at several times throughout our game and felt like we were bullied from hole 1 by being beginners.

At one point, we had significantly picked up the pace, were waiting for the next hole behind the players in front of us, AND our cart said we were only 2 minutes behind pace but a marshal still came to harass us and tell us we needed to pick up the pace

Golf should be more accessible to more people would not recommend Cardinal.

Great Customer Service experience. The pro-shop was super accommodating and understanding of an exceptional circumstance and worked with me toward a reasonable and adequate resolution! Very satisfied with my discussion and overall outcome! Would highly recommend this beautiful course. Great value for a great course.

Great view of the course layout, but their drainage system is quite bad as couple of holes are flooded

Attended the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce Networking Breakfast Event and had a great time meeting new people, good food and a great view of the golf course.

Course is in good shape. The carts have GPS for your distance measurements and a USB to charge your phone!

The East wing is a very nice lay out. The first hole starts with an elevated green which I found a little challenging. Greens are well kept and fast. The carts come with a GPS which helps verify distance to the flag. Club house is clean and food is pretty good Pace was a little slow do to the foursome in front of us. Overall a very nice course

Get rid of the GPS on the golf carts. Even when on the cart path it shuts off sometimes and takes forever to reset and it really slows down the pace of play especially on a busy day.

Will never play at Cardinal again. Too slow play and no Marshall to move people forward. They spread people out by 8 minutes just to bring in the cash. Not enjoyable at all. So many other better courses.

easy to make a booking. hard to make a cancellations. and get a refund. i called them over 5 times. never and still not having a refund. almost 2 months already. very dis-enjoyable experience. will call them tomorrow again for the refund.

Incredibly slow pace of play but very challenging course

Kettle creek is a great little executive course for a quick game of golf. Plays pretty fast in the mid-afternoon. Very affordable rates especially if you are over 60.

Golfed in a tournament here on the weekend. Beer cart only came by once the whole day. We had drink vouchers that we couldn't redeem. Golf carts would keep locking out and alarm even when following cart path. Tried calling clubhouse but no one would answer.

Three 18 hole courses to choose from. Wedding hall options. Wonderful staff. Book your tournaments now for the best times.

Quite disappointed with my round at East Wing. Layout is gorgeous, lots of great holes but the pace of play was terrible. At one point we were backed up with 3 other 4somes. The Marshall was nowhere to be found all day. Greens were riddled with divots, too. Could be a nice course but overbooked and absolutely zero regard for pace of play. Also - really wish they told us before renting the carts that they were cart path only instead of disabling the cart. We would've walked. Much better options, especially at that price point.

One of the best no frills public golf courses in the GTA. Not many courses have a GPA equipped carts. This one does. And a very well maintained full driving range (grass and mat).

Beautiful course. Some holes were a little water logged from the heavy rain but such a great set up. Golf carts are fantastic

WE HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE BUT THIS TIME IT WAS VERY DILAPITATED. Also the bugs were very bad. Even with the discount it was lots of fun.

Was here for an event and it's a lovely place! Food was great!

I ve golfed at Cardinal many times over the years and based on it s price point, and the quality of the course, I d normally give it 4 or 4.5 stars.

However, the customer service drags the course down. The last time I played there, at the turn the line for food was way too long to stop, so we decided to just get something from the cart. As luck would have it, as we teed off on the 10th hole the cart happened to be approaching us.

We asked if we could get some beers and sandwiches and we re told that we were too close to the club house to be served from the cart. When we asked why that mattered we were told because the clubhouse staff didn t want the cart staff taking their tips .

I understand that there will always be friction when tipping is involved but that should never impact the customer experience. Especially when the club house was far too busy to accommodate us while maintaining pace of play.

And speaking of pace of play, the addition of the in-cart GPS and it s ability to beep when you are, literally, 2 minutes (it actually says this) behind pace is not an improvement. It boggles the mind that someone would design such as system and it not be smart enough to realize that the cart is waiting for 5-10 minutes on every tee box. We actually had a marshal drive over to tell us to speed up. And we mentioned that we had to wait to tee off on every hole and perhaps he should speak to a couple of the groups ahead of us. He told us that the system told them who the slow group was and he was on his way to talk with them. So why are you telling us to pick it up then? We can t go any faster than the group in front of us.

And about that beeping. The GPS seems to beep once every 5 minutes or so. Sometimes it s an ad for COVID-19 protocols, sometimes it s for a $9.99 hat and water bottle deal at the pro shop. But it s always annoying. I saw several people flub shots after the cart beeped while they were swinging and if looks could kill, the course would be littered with the burned out husks of golf carts.

So, in a nutshell, the course is good and well maintained but the customer service really needs to focus on the customer.

Mini putt course needs some work. We still had a fun time.

I had a great time golfing on the West course. The only issue was the drainage issues of the extra rain that we had that week. Maybe next time, a heads up would have been appreciated as to those holes to be aware of.

Beautiful course. Disappointed that they closed the food hut 2 hours earlier than advised and we only had one visit from the beer cart in 18 holes.

Great course, but the Marshalls have 0 customer service. Very rude.

Probably one of my favourite courses to play. It's really well kept and a genuinely fun course. The carts have device chargers and GPS which provides information relevant to the hole you're playing. If given the opportunity I'd love to go and play it again. They do occasionally have deals so I tend to wait for those.

Played the East course today, first 9 was awesome, second 9 had lots of water due to the heavy rain, but was still playable. Awesome clubhouse and staff , will be back again during better weather conditions! Golf carts have a screen which keeps score, and shows the hole overview, and distance to the flag. Good time, will be back soon!

Very nice golf course. Staff very friendly and professional, and reputation is well earned.

Not an avid golfer, attended a a corporate tournament and enjoyed the grounds, food and staff.

Cardinal is getting really busy, still a decent golf course .. with Red Crest being our go to. The food at Red Crest is pretty decent and service is friendly.

This golf club is amazing, whether you're looking to try out their driving range, mini put, golf, or simply enjoy any of their amazing restaurants you won't be disappointed. Service is so friendly and helpful.

I've been to a few events at both Cardinal and Red Crest and I can't say enough about how helpful their event coordinators are! They answer your emails back promptly and in a timely manner and will try their best to meet all your needs and requests. Very accommodating.

I highly recommend drinks on their patio, just to enjoy the sweet views of the summer! Will definitely be back!

First crack at golf in 5 years since I injured my shoulder and had major surgery. Discovered that I can still golf, still badly but lots of fun!!

Redcrest was in great condition. Fairly open course but still challenging at the same time. Staff was very friendly.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My wife and I held our sons baptism reception here and we were extremely impressed. Gina was a huge help to my wife and was very accommodating. The venue was fantastic, the food was excellent and the staff was incredible. Huge thank you to Gina and Cynthia!! Our sons big day went off without a hitch because of them. We will definitely hold more events here. Our guests have also all told us how much they enjoyed this venue. A great time had by all. Thank you again!

Decent course to play a tournament at. Good facilities

Poor drainage following rain storm the previous day

Tee boxes are a little rough due to Covid and no sand seed mix on the carts or tee boxes. Prices could be a little less expensive with the lack of amenities.

Great food. Hold on to your drink because they collect your drink and discard it quickly. Great way to increase revenues. Staff friendly but over zealous in clearing non-empty glasses and bottles.

Very good. We visited for the mini golf and loved the "old mine" theme. Good for kids and a youthful "datenight".

Great course.. But very annoying carts.. Constantly beeping at you.. Stay in range when your driving on the cart path, how much time your off the pace when everything is backed up infront of you.. The constant beeping. And stupid ads blocking you from Seeing the electronic score card and GPS..

Love coming to cardinal. One of the best values out there. Course doesn't break the bank but has the look and feel of a higher end course. Would recommend to anyone

Played Cardinal West in mid May 2019 when spring had been rainy and cold. Nevertheless the course was fun to play, with fairways in decent condition with fast (for beginners) greens. Electric carts are a step above gas carts at other course I have visited. Nice people here too. Played Cardinal East almost 15 years ago at a corporate event and have fond memories. Cardinal is still a top notch golf experience.

Well maintained, beautiful course. Our server, Gina, at the Grill, was exceptional! Definitely going back.

Redcrest championship course is excellent. One of the best in the area

Great for beginners, most holes under 200. Go early as we waited almost every hole. 18 holes took 4 hours

Played Kettle Creek. Par 3's and a couple short 4's. Decent challenge, well maintained. Not sure how I feel about the people playing soccer golf, but to each their own I guess. Can't wait to play the other courses!!

Cardinal is a huge 72 hole course with the most beautiful landscaping. The clubhouse is spacious and comfortable with a terrific menu. Which makes sense because everytime I see it, the clubhouse architecture reminds me of a giant rack if ribs! Not only is this a good place for golfing it also hosts many functions such as the upcoming bridal show.

High quality fairways and greens. Very friendly service. Good prices. We play every week. Great value.

Excellent junior golf programs. Jody and all the instructors are really great. Highly recommended!

Had a Christmas dinner and celebration with 130 guests. Food was hot and a lot of choices. Servers and staff were very helpful in every area. Would highly recommend!
