This was a pleasant surprise. Don't know why we haven't been here before - Have been twice this week !!

Well it's fresh cooked food and you are getting the real stuff so you can't go wrong and with Cappy's the drinks are out of this world!!!

Only open from 6 to 2 except on Wednesday. Love their breakfast

Food was only ok for the price. We went for breakfast and the weirdest thing was they didn't have real cream, only those little half and half pods. Location was close to the beach, but not sure we would go back.

Don't waste your time. The food is tasteless. I don't mean bad I mean it had absolutely no flavor I felt like I was eating air. I don't hold this against the waitress because she was very good but $40 for a breakfast that you can't even taste is ridiculous. The Ambiance was awesome but it failed completely when it came two tasting a good meal which is what you go to a restaurant for!

Great place for breakfast. The service and food were great and they had good options for vegetarians and other dietary conditions. The restaurant was a little loud, but it was packed and it was a Saturday morning, so really, what do you expect? There's a dedicated parking area for the restaurant, which is also nice. We will be back when visiting this area again.

Great food. Definitely large portions. Corned beef hash was the best I have ever had.

Three words for you - corned. beef. omelet. Seriously, that's all you'll ever need to eat again. It's SO good! And they have awesome pancakes too. I can't wait to go back!

As an out of towner we were super happy to have discovered this place on a short visit to Newport Beach.

It was everything you dreamed of when thinking for a classic Sunday morning diner-style breakfast.

Great food, quality ingredients, and wonderful service across the board.

From the busser who promptly cleared a table for us during a busy rush (with a smile) - to the smiling host who took our drink order (knowing that our server was going to be tied up at another table but still wanting to get us set up.)

We ordered a lot of food for the four of us because our mouths were watering seeing all of the amazing breakfast dishes coming out of the kitchen.

Our server seamlessly managed our full table of food with her constant clearing of finished and unused items. Thanks for the great service (especially the table maintenance) and dreamy breakfast.

Wish I had a Cappy to work his magic in my hometown but it s nice to know that when I travel to Newport in the future I can just head here for some killer breakfast and to feel right at home.

Best place to eat I'm a chef and I used to cook like those guys and was damn good food just like Mom paw

Great food, REALLY great staff! Friendly, attentive, and overall was just a great experience. Has breakfast here with my family, we all had different dishes and every one of them were cooked perfectly and tasted soooo good. Will definitely be back for more!

Good breakfast. I ordered an omelette. It was delicious. Next time no cheese. Good sized portion. Busy place. Small wait. The home style potatoes and biscuits/gravy are filling.

Food was very good, but we had to wait before we got seated.

Walked in to a/c, fans, suble music and smiling faces. Greeted and seated. Nice views of outside. Excellent menu with huge variety of choices. Eggs Benedict was my choice: Excellent! Mimosas were good. Value super! 2:30pm "will be back".

Best corned beef hash I've ever eaten, and I'm not an amateur

The food is great and the location is convenient, unfortunately the service is left to be desired. Our waitress was a bit less attentitive than she should have been, but overall it's still one of my favorite breakfast eateries.

I absolutely love this place. More than anything, the staff and management is thoughtful and cares for our community. Especially now that's valueable. My favorite meal has to be hash and hot chocolate!

Good food, kinda pricey, unfortunately had Fox news on the TVs.

OK, I really hate doing this because I like this place and have been coming here for years.
Talking to the Manager New Year's morning found out there's new owners of Cappy's. Noticed right away once I received my favorite Breakfast, Shrimp Omelette. Before it was filled with a generous amount of whole Shrimp, delicious. The Omelette I received had very little amount of shrimp and instead of whole Shrimp it was chopped up in small pieces.
My Bloody Mary, honestly, I think they forgot to put in the Vodka. The Olive, Bacon and Pickle was delicious.
House Potatoes, really don't want to go there.
I'm hoping this is just a one time incident. Like I said, I really love this place, it's always been my go to for awesome breakfast. If it's true there's new owners, regulars will notice the changes.
Allison, our waitress was excellent, I'd give her 5 stars. The meal I received, a generous 2.

The home made corned beef hash is the best I ever had. All of the breakfasts are amazing. The secret pancake batter recipe is a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, Cappy's food is consistently good.

Atmosphere and location is cool but honestly the food can use a little work. It's bland and the recipes are kinda weird. My breakfast potatoes had big huge green chunks of scallions. My breakfast sandwich also had a strange taste to it and the coffee is very weak.

Great breakfast place with large portions. If you order the ham steak and eggs, the ham comes on a separate plate.

This place is awesome! We had just taken our 120 pound puppy dog to the dog beach and was looking for a place for breakfast and we found Cappy's. The patio is small but my big guy fit. There were other dogs on the patio and they all got a long. While there the manager and waitress both bought by doggie treats. Some places say they are dog friendly but then seem annoyed when you do bring your dog. I didn't feel that here They made us feel completely welcome. The food was also fabulous. My husband and I shared a chili omlet and their special potatoes (I can't remember what they were called but they had Parmesan cheese on top). So yummy. The chili was super flavorful! Their portions are pretty large so glad we shared. Our waitress was also very attentive we didn't have to wait for drink refills. Will definitely be coming back.

This is a very good place for breakfast. The Eggs Benedict are outstanding. The wheat toast is the best anywhere.

Best breakfast and lunch on PCH! Cute, lively. Great good and service. Now they're starting to test doing dinner service. Looking forward to that happening!

Great little mom and pop restaurant, with breakfast and lunch comfort food. Be ready to eat because it's big portions and the price is reasonable. I had the country steak and eggs and it was delicious, the home fries could have been a little less on the burnt side but it had great flavor, the gravy was on point and pancakes where heaven, fluffy and buttery; the coffee was good and hot just how I like it.. definitely recommend this place.

Cappy's Cafe has been updated after many years. It's nice, comfortable and the food is always delicious! My favorite is their homemade corned beef hash...YUM! The staff has it dialed in to get everyone in and the next group in seamlessly!

I have been living near Cappy's Cafe for a few years now, but today I decided to finally stop by for breakfast with my gf before I headed out to work. The portions are pretty large but what would would expect at a cafe.

I had the chicken fajitas omelette, which was pretty tasty. It came with a nice portion of guac and sour cream. But it was so filling that I didn't even touch my biscuits and gravy.

The service was friendly and prompted. I did not have to ask to have my coffee refilled, which is always good sign that they are being attentive.
