Cappy's Cafe Review

New owners, knocking it out of the park! Great breakfast.

Food was good, but watch your bill! I ordered 2 omelets and a chicken sandwich and somehow they hit my credit card for $63! Twice the menu price. I should have double checked before I swiped but was in a hurry. Buyer beware.

Excellent food and service. Will even be better in the near future when fresh local fish will be added to the menu. Great place!

First time dining at Cappy's. Fast and friendly service. Ordered breakfast, eggs,bacon, hashbrowns and toast. The food was good and the waiter kept our coffee topped off. Would recommend to locals and visitors.

Can never say enough good about this place, the food is always top notch.

Food was just okay ... had breakfast; however, took 2 tries for hubby to get something he would eat. He was use to the porkchops he used to get here: thick, juicy, flavorful ... what he got could not be recognized as a porkchop. He then ordeted bacon and eggs; got credit for the porkchop breakfast. Service was okay, friendly. We'll probaby give them one more try.

lived here my entire life and I can't believe I have not discovered Cappy's Cafe. It's everything you would want from a truck stop beach side Eatery. They have the old style coffee cups with creamer and packaged jam on the side. With the limited experience I have on their menu, as far as breakfast is concerned, I definitely recommend giving the eggs benedict a try. Even though striking up a long conversation with some of the servers would be fun they're all about serving you with Speed & Style. Even though they're busy and hustle they're still personable and find time to act like humans. Especially Amanda! She's my favorite so far! Don't call her Mandy though LOL. If you use Samsung or Apple pay they will bring the terminals to you so that you can use your digital phone to close out your bill. These girls work hard they deserve every tip they get. I'm definitely going to be going back for the rest of my life! That is until Amanda quits LOL just kidding... one last hit, get the seasoned potatoes. I'm sure the hash browns are good but I just can't seem to bring myself to switch just yet.

Hadn't been here in 15 years. They serve a very good breakfast menu. Will go again.

Not a chain. Good food if you like the old time coffee shop dinner type. The only thing that stops it from being a 5 is limited parking.

Came in here for the first time yesterday after hearing great things about it from my parents. I can see why they like it so much! Delicious eggs Benedict with homemade hollandaise sauce served at 12:30? What more can you ask for?! Will definitely be coming back again :)

Absolutely awful. Everything was stale and the service took ages.

You know this is a great place for breakfast but I hear Wednesday nights is the only night for dinner and it's good too I may have to try it one night but not tonight

I was told this was the best breakfast place in Newport. Food was just okay in my eyes. Kids loved it. Service was great.

Great breakfast, really busy but friendly and fast service

I felt like we owe them to be eating at their facility. Slow service and not much gratitude as we are risking our lives by supporting them. Food was on the expensive side as compared to cheesecake and other higher end breakfast and lunch places. Overall an average minus experience.

Very gourmet breakfast diner. Cool and relaxed setting, great location, awesome food. Beware, this place is very popular. Get there early if you don't want to be in a noisy atmosphere.

Delicious food, dog friendly and shaded outdoor seating. We made a reservation on Yelp but got in right away.

When visiting Newport Beach area, we always stop at Cappy's Cafe for breakfast. Great food, friendly servers and staff. Big servings.

Was a good breakfast. Plenty to eat, but could have been hotter

I did not eat,but arrived 30 min before closing and was welcomed with open arms, had a long island icetea...was made perfect....and also threw in a complentary chips and salsa.
Support this business. Customer service is getting harder and harder to find now day....peace out!

5 stars for the category of a classic greasy spoon breakfast diner. If you're lookng for high end in Newport go elswhere, but this place is spot on for an all American breaky..

This place is amazing, I love finding these little hidden gems.The staff was amazing, the food was fantastic, and I highly recommend this place to anybody for breakfast or lunch if they're in the area
