The location of this hotel is probably the best thing about it. It s minutes away from a lot of places but this hotel is really needing some work. It s starting to become pretty dated and many things are needing updates. Also the cleaning staff really needs to pay more attention to their work. I found dried blood on my sink, in the pool changing room, and on one wall. No clue what s going on with that but don t believe me, check the changing room closest to the women s lockers by the pool. It s on the left side when you enter. While you re at it, check out the plaster falling off of the ceiling of the pool too. That s going to make a real splash soon.

We received a free upgrade to a small suite which was fabulous since there was 3 of us.
However, from the beginning, we originally reached out to the hotel asking the ways to get to their location from the airport. There are several options:
You could take a shuttle bus which is 24 CNY each way + 13-18 CNY for a taxi. The nearest shuttle bus station stops at west gate of Beijing International Hotel.

Subway station about 30 CNY each way
Take subway from T3 to Dong Zhi Men Subway Station. Transfer to subway Line 2 to Jian Guo Men Station and Transfer to Line 1 Wang Fu Jing Station

Or
Airport express line (high speed sunway) which is 20 minutes to Dong Zhi Men Station in Central Beijing. The hotel is 15 minutes by taxi. Cost 25 CNY each way

All options, seemed about the same time and I thought the airport express option seemed the best. I will say as this was our first trip to China, it was hard for us to distinguish what were "actual taxis." Unfortunately, there was no idea of cost for the taxi either. We headed to the first taxi who told us "metered" as they all said the same. When we got into the taxi cab, they stated 400 CNY....it seemed awfully high to us for being only 15 minutes away. They eventually brought it down to 50 CNY but at the same time, I had no clue what the appropriate price was. We were clueless of what direction to head to as there were many "Taxis" but we could not find a metered one. As we were tired and it was around 11pm at night we decided to just stay in one of the taxis since we clearly were not finding the correct ones. They all had taxi signs above their vehicles but I never saw a meter. We ended up paying 80 CNY. Many other "taxis" advised 150-200 CNY. We realized the 50 CNY was the better deal, but that driver already left.

So, all in all we found out to look at the license plate which should say Beijing ( ) B means they can drive people and is a taxi. They should have a meter for you. However, if they see tourists - they may prefer to try to barter. If we would travel again, we would probably do the subway station option as we the hotel is very close to the subway station. However, if this is at night it might be harder to find. It's maybe a 5 min walk from the hotel to the subway. Our hotel has a large fountain in front of it.

The room was beautiful and clean. They were missing our rollaway cot but quickly brought it up. Whenever we called housekeeping, items would be delivery very quickly! The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. They had one of the nicest indoor pools I have seen as far as decor and a very large gym! Everything at this hotel was very clean and nice! The only thing we did not like was that they don't have an actual lobby area. They have a lobby that you can sit down at, but if you have a coffee or something from an outside vendor you are not allowed to sit there. Therefore, waiting for our tour company, we could only stand with our coffees in hand instead of waiting somewhere. There was no other waiting area for us. There is no where to sit outside either.

This hotel is nearby a Starbucks, other coffee or breakfast shops and close by to the shopping district. All of this is walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants you can walk to and shop at. They also have a local street food near by across from the KFC in the shopping area called Wangfujing St - you can get an assortment local food for very cheap along with little scorpions.

Overall, this was a very nice hotel to stay at which is nearby the subway, Tiananmen Square and many shops and restaurants! I do wish they provided a little more detail in regards to the options to arrive at their hotel and how to identify a legitimate taxi as it was not fun bartering with the taxis. However, I do not know if our situation would have changed much as I think once they see tourists - they will try to overcharge of course.

The traffic is very convenient, the subway taxi is very convenient, downstairs is the New Oriental World Shopping Center, eating and shopping is very convenient, walking to Wangfujing amp is also ten minutes. Let's talk about the hotel facilities, the hardware looks old, but it is very good to use, the towels are super comfortable, and the sleep is good. The staff were very kind, polite and efficient. [Strong] The restaurant was great and the kids loved it. The hotel swimming pool is a place of great love for children. It is not willing to go out on hot summer days. I only want to soak in water. [Happy] Overall, this is a very convenient hotel for eating and living. I am willing to stay again.
The only downside: the front desk service has to be reserved, because the booking room did not let us go smoothly, the problem was given to our customers but left the problem to our customers and reservation website to solve, there are still residual problems.

Excellent stay on a short layover in Beijing. Good location with easy access to subway to whisk you away all over Beijing. The large shopping mall and beautifully done pool/spa/gym are well worth it.

Best hotel pool I ve ever seen. Beautiful tropical area underground. Great location, helpful staff and delicious breakfast. Comfortable room with small and dated bathroom. We also had Peking Duck at Made in China restaurant inside the hotel and it was an experience.

The location of the hotel is amazing. In the center of Beijing in the immediate vicinity of the center and the pedestrian zone. The hotel itself is located in a complex together with a huge shopping mall and Mall with an area of 1 mil. sq. m. Everything in the hotel is thought of business visits and events. The rooms are not huge, but you will find everything you need to work or to have meetings. In the bathroom to the room you will find yourself in a mini spa spa and you can rely on finding any toiletries that are of good quality. The prices are not high for the quality and extras that are offered. The staff of everywhere can be a wonderful example of delicate service, discretion and courtesy of the customer.

Rooms are only OK with the price you pay, bathroom door may not fully close so the water will leak out and cause flooding in bathroom floor.
Staffs are nice at the check in counter and very helpful, room cleaning teams are very friendly.

Stayed here for a week and enjoyed it immensely. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Beijing metro. The staff are all friendly and helpful and able to speak English. If you can afford The Club rooms, it's probably worth the expense. The Club is expansive has a decent selection of breakfast and evening snacks. Plus the staff in The Club is able to help with reservations.

We dined at the "award winning" restaurant Da Giorgio. The price was incredibly expensive compared to other high class restaurants in North America. Our experience with the Made in China restaurant and their Cantonese restaurant, Noble Court convinced us to try at the Da Giorgio. The experience was disappointing. The pasta was not up to standard. The main courses were barely acceptable but edible. Otherwise, a beautiful hotel in a great location. The swimming pool was very unique and gorgeous. Highly recommended to check it out but stay away from the Da Giorgio.

Decent hotel but not meeting the 5 * criteria. In particular, the staff do not speak English (except at reception for payment), a simple glass of water is very difficult to order and asking for a non-alcoholic cocktail is a real passport to adventure!
Breakfast is plentiful and varied, but the surroundings are not pleasant.
The hotel caters to overnight travelers who sleep in and have breakfast before leaving.
Special mention all the same in the restaurant with musical atmosphere. Comfortable and tasty (even if the staff don't speak more English ...).

Traveled from Canada and stayed at the hotel in early January 2020. Central location to local tourist attractions - walking distance to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Great customer service and concierge service. Staff were very helpful in assisting with hotel and car/taxi services. Highly recommend upgrading to 17th floor lounge services.

Very strategically located hotel within the city centre. 15mins on foot to Forbidden City and Tianamen square. Sits in the middle of 2 subway stations (line 1: Wangfujing and Dongdan) which are accessible via the connecting mall. Lots of food options both within the mall and Wangfujing street which is a 6min walk from the hotel. There's a food court - Food Republic - in the mall that serves inexpensive local cuisine.
Had a lovely room at East Tower, 12th floor overlooking the city and fountain. Super comfy bed and plush setting. The only hotel i've stayed in Beijing that had air conditioning that worked properly. I was looking forward to the breakfast but it wasn't spectacular. Go down to P3 level and you'll find an amazingly huge pool, its like a mini city down there. Gym buffs would love their well equipped facilities. Enjoyed my stay here and the staff were really helpful.

Not a good hotel for tourists. Do many things are wrong with them. Asked the bell boy to get a taxi for us. He said better to by 2 bus as no taxi can come!
Buffet breakfast. Staff wait until last piece is finished then take them about 15 to 20 minutes to bring more.!
Cleaned our room took our dirty cups and left no clean one!
Due to some one important staying at this hotel we have to go through security point too many times a day and 2 lifts out of 4 are closed.
Too many security people in lobby. It doesnt feel relax to sit in lobby for a tea.
T
Not a good experience. DO NOT STAY HERE AS GUESTS ARE NOT IMPORTANT. Specially when u pay almost $1500 per night u expect much much better service.
Disappointed!

Beijing has been convenient for many reasons, and it was a stay at Route 2 East Shijojo Station, a Swissotel in front of you, but after a few unpleasant things, I wandered in various ways. This is a recommendation. After all the hotel is correct if the price is correct. Well, I knew the Toho Prince, but here is the Grand Hyatt. It is a reasonable price from Japan. It is always hard to compare Chinese names with English names in China. I am not sightseeing, but I think this is the best place for sightseeing. Please note that Line 1 is crowded. You can also use devices such as the 5th line. It is convenient at multiple stations. Do not be troubled to eat (o ^ ^ o)

Fantastic pool. The pool alone makes this place worth a stay. Location is decent, in between Wangfujing and Dongdan stations. It is completely sheltered to the metro. Its located on top of a rather expensive mall, but that s still worth a look. Very hard to find bottled water around the area. Had some difficulty communicating with the staff as English proficiency is only so-so.

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel is quite old already so do expect some wear and tear of the room furniture. Our room was huge with separate living area. The towels were quite dirty. The study desk is weird as it has only one side connecting to the floor, making it unstable. TV program is quite limited for a 5 star hotel, and worse it's none of the channel are in High Definition. Staff are friendly and all the room cleaners greet us every time we walk past. Location of the hotel is very close to Wangfujing street, palace, tiananmen square. Yet it is off the busy street and not noisy. The hotel itself is also connected to a mall. If you don't want to get out of the hotel, there are 3-4 restaurants within the hotel.

Incredible hotel. Very convenient location and very central. Beautifully run and well appointed. Hotel staff are extremely helpful and very professional. The swimming pool, spa, and gym, are out of this world. Really great equipment and well run. The swimming pool is just paradise. Make sure you keep enough time in your schedule to enjoy it. I haven t seen anything like it before.

Location is good for playing. Good access to Tiananmen, the market and subway. However, the location and the breakfast other than the pool are significantly lower than other hotels. When you order an omelet, you stand in line, wait without a waiting list, use a razor, Amenity is very cheap. Consider this and go.

My husband and I stayed at Grand Hyatt Beijing fro...

My husband and I stayed at Grand Hyatt Beijing from 12 Sep - 16 Sep 2019. These dates coincide with the rehearsal of the events to be held at Chang An Avenue in anticipation of celebrations for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People s Republic of China. During the rehearsal, Chang An Avenue was closed off from 14 Sep 5:30 pm till 15 Sep 6:00 am and 15 Sep 5:30 pm till 16 Sep 6:00 am. As hotel guests, we understood the significance of this rehearsal and also made the necessary adjustments to our schedules.

At around 1:30 pm on 15 Sep, Hotel Staff were informed by the Police that the rehearsal that day would be brought forward to 4:30 pm. Staff then posted notices around the hotel and attempted to reach hotel guests by calling their rooms. They also tried calling guests who have a China phone number (+86) in their records.

As tourists, it is understandable that we do not have a China phone number and were hence, not informed of the change in rehearsal timing. Because of this, we were stranded on the streets and in the middle of the barricaded area when we reached Chang An Avenue at 4:45 pm. We had to walk for nearly 2 hours to get out of the restricted zone and eventually managed to book another night stay at Double Tree by Hilton.

When we returned to Grand Hyatt the next morning, Hotel Staff (Daisy and Gilbert Chen) merely told us they were only notified by the Police last minute (3 hours beforehand?) and it was out of their ability to inform all guests who were not in the hotel at that time.

As an International 5 star Hotel Chain, is Grand Hyatt not equipped to contact International guests who do not have a China phone number? An email would also suffice as we could have re-routed to not enter the restricted zone if we were not able to make it back by 4:30pm. This really left us with an extremely bad experience and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Think twice if you are expecting decent service from them.

The first five stars in my reviews. Thank you to the hotel clerk, Billy.
It has proven that one person can change the image of a company.
Not long ago, it was a large national holiday in China, so the security of Grand Hyatt Wangfujing was severe.
Every time I went out to smoke, I was inspected and searched.
I wasn't in a good mood throughout my stay, but when I checked out and left, I called DIDI and I kept waiting, but the car didn't come to the front door.
But Billy first approached and asked what was wrong, informed him that he was in control of the vehicle, picked up his bag, took him to the back door of the hotel, and called the DIDI driver to pick me up. Had it not been for this staff, I would not have met an unfriendly Chinese driver and I would have missed the flight. The Wangfujing Hyatt Hotel will be remembered as a great hotel.

We stayed at the Hyatt for 6 nights. The facilities, staff and location of the hotel was fantastic. For the LGBT travellers, we were asked if we wanted two single beds, but that was it- so don't worry about having to negotiate a normal room. The service was what you expect of the Hyatt and as for the location, it's close to the forbidden city, national museum etc. We loved the pool, gym, sauna, steam room and spa facilities. The staff all speak excellent English - despite our feeble attempt to speak mandarin. I would recommend this hotel and will be staying when we go back to Beijing. One tip: contact the hotel to collect you from the airport. You will be greeted by a hotel employee who will escort you to the baggage claim area. You'll then be taken through customs and to an underground carpark. The driver of the Audi A6 will take you straight to the hotel. The hotel arranged for an early check in, which meant a shower and a nap before our first day. The cost is about 900RMB but well worth it after a long fight. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

I stayed here in 2011 and loved it and returned in 2013 and again in 2018.

It s gone down hill.

- the Furniture in the lobby is old, tired and worn. ( has not changed in 7 years )

- My wife and I sat down and were not served so we waved our hands in the air 3 time as the waitress looked directly at us and ignored us.

- When we really made ourselves more noticeable we eventually got service ( stood up walked towards the waitress and started talking to her )

Eventually we got service ordered tea which was 57rmb ($11.50 AUD ) per person. It came presented very ordinarily with silver jugs that are dirty.
It s a grand Hyatt, it understandably not cheap but the environment and service doesn t come close to matching the price tag.

It may be the reason that there are too many hotel rooms. When checking in at the front desk, it is necessary to queue up. There are indeed check-ins, check-outs, invoicing, foreign currency exchange, and many business is very busy. In the front desk service, Miss Chen Ning Sabrina impressed me the most, always smiling, able to deal with problems in a timely manner, especially for guests with administrative treatment, the details are very detailed.

It was a great stay. I couldn't fault anything. Hotel staff really helpful. The location is fantastic and so central and next to subway which gets you to all the attractions (no need for taxi). In the subway, they have helpers to assist to buy tickets. It helps that subway stations are named as the tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering a stay in Beijing.

An excellent, though expensive, hotel in the heart of the city overlooking Chang'an Avenue. Large spacious rooms, comfortable beds and cleanliness one would expect from the Hyatt. Excellent pool and sauna facilities below the hotel. Only downside is that like most top western hotels is that Internet is an extra charge. Also Internet was cable only, no WiFi.

Overnight at Grand Twin. It was a simple and clean room. It was not large at all, but it was just a good area for a 2-person stay.
The pool on the third basement floor can be used free of charge, and there is a heated Jacuzzi and a sauna.
Rental bicycles are also available free of charge, making it easy to move around the city. It was a shame that the buttocks hurt because the saddle is hard. Be careful because you can not park around Tiananmen Square.

This is my first time to give 1 star

Not bad for the room and food, but there s one thing that I have to say is the service of the SPA there is very unprofessional! We were there for relax, and there s a girl who do the massage for my man was trying to steal my man! Keep calling him cute and sexy!? Even wanna spend more time with him even though the time is already done! Really? And I was just keep waiting out the room for him even he stared earlier than me.

There s the place to let us relax, not for you to steal my man! If you wanna know who that is, check the history for room 908, and we did the SPA in 2: 45 pm in 16th May.

Very unimpressed with the service. Arrived after hours of travel to be told we needed to wait an extra 2 hours after check in for the room to the ready and to "come back". Only begrudgingly and after our insistence were we given somewhere to stay in the meantime. For a 5 star hotel, found it very unacommodating and unimpressive.

Nice enough room, view, gym, interesting pool, high line shopping below the hotel, restaurants in hotel and in food court mall below the hotel. Good location near tourist sites, most of staff speaks English. Internet was not reliable.

I can't say enough nice things about this property. Beware of others claiming to be a "5 star"- many are not. The front desk was exceptional, the room was beautiful and clean, and it has a great location. The executive lounge is among the best I've ever experienced, and well worth the surcharge. Truly an oasis to return to after a busy day.
