An excellent week long camp experience for persons with disabilities. Competent and caring staff of professionals and vollinteers. Visit the website for details.
My grandson goes every year to MDA camp and he enjoys every minute and the staff is so good with the kids
Love this place used to live in Maple Lake until 1972. My mom worked in the handicapped kitchen. Visited often and had church activities in winter. Miss our home. Was good to come out and see.
Omg that give me good memories of my childhood, visiting horses , etc
I would give this camp 0 stars if I could. I have a child with disabilities. His grandparents paid for this camp thinking that it would be a great social experience and emotional recovery. I would never learn about what happened there if our friends who were with my son at the time did not tell me. I wish I knew this earlier. There was an employee, Heidi Strand who made fun of my son's disability. She was talking to another lady (not sure if she is an employee as well) and she mocked his disability with hand gestures and whispered "what a crippled creature". As a mother and just a human I can not express how much I am disgusted by this type of behavior of an adult woman! Disability discrimination is the least we expected from your camp. I am going to report this accident to the county.
Great place to camp. Great fun, Great staff, Great programs. I've had many great times at this camp!
Beautiful setting but dusty and dirty facilities with terrible water situation. All of the toilets, sinks, showers and dishes we had to use were stained from the well water and the water is undrinkable. Once the dining hall was closed there was no access to drinking water. The food was disappointing and it appears as though there have been no updates to some of the buildings for 30+ years. There were no visible recycling bins on site. Walking paths and parking lots were not well lit.
I go to Gluten Free camp here, best place ever. I would give it 100 stars if I could.
It's not the nicest place in the world but it has a lot more than most camps.
Thank you for refusing to host the Asatru Folk Assembly's gathering, it is great to know you stand for tolerance and against hate. This is another reason to stay at your wonderful camp.
Lovely camp and I had a blast at this camp for about 5-7 years and I love the camp a lot.
Good view next to lake, you can ride horses, zip line, hike and bonfire!
You can do a lot of things at this place.
I love going to camp with my friends who also have disabilities.
Excellent staff and wonderful peaceful location. Would highly recommend this facility for a special event (wedding, family reunion, graduation or birthday party), or for a large group camping event. The food service is wonderful. The beaches walking paths make for a relaxing get away.
