After hearing from friends that Camelback was the least desired of mountains within a 1 hour radius, we went anyway because they got quite a bit of snow this past weekend. We were very pleased with the runs that they had on the intermediate level, the large light up map at the bottom that showed the trails that was open, as well as the bar inside. Looking forward to going more next season.
One of my favorite mountains to ski, but I grew up skiing here so I might be biased. Great conditions this year with real snow, usually icy. Disappointed in dynamic pricing and paying for parking (although not the case on a weekday). Also, one of the staffers was fairly obnoxious about masking up in the lift line. Others were polite. Stay off the quad lifts and you'll get a lot more skiing in!
Very clean and family oriented mountain. Spent the day on the nice, wide beginner trail with my cousins who were new to skiing.
Was looking forward to coming here with my friends and enjoying twilight but was immediately taken back by the huge crowds of people waiting to get onto the lifts. There was definitely an obscene amount of tickets sold which was surprising due to covid, and we only were able to get a handful of runs in for our six hour stay. No one was mandating mask wearing and the conditions were horrific. Will not be coming back here. Spend your money and go an extra thirty minutes to Blue Mountain.
really sucks. ur food has aids and gave me herpes. learn how to cook and not just Throw it in some grease
When we first went when everything opened back up after covid...everything was nice and clean. After going a second time August 18th the rooms were dusty and we ended up changing rooms. Over all I do like the room setup, the loft is my favorite.
At the bar inside Aquatopia they totally ignored us, I guess because we are Hispanics. I was so mad because we spended money more than an average visitor. Did not like the treatment. We gave them great tip so they pay attention more often!
Awesome but when I took a spill on a blue slope and went past the trail guards (not one that has a big drop) The ski patrol went right past but that s my only bad experience but awesome place totally recommend going there it s worth the money.
Water park fun. Some lifeguards very helpful and knowledgeable.
Fun weekend with the family.
Parking is a bit expensive but overall great ski weekend spot
Very nice in summer and winter. Can be crowded at times.
I don't ski much, so I liked the lessons and the bunny slope.
Conditions were great, but a little sad. There weren't alot of people. I was the only one in the lodge for most of the day.
We went to Camelback with 5 other families, all with children of various ages & experience. Everyone without exception enjoyed the experience & the skiing very much. The process was smooth, the lift lines were fast; even the beginner slopes moved well. The multiple lodges ordered something for everyone including a lively bar with live music. We all agreed unanimously to return next season.
They really made this a more exciting place to ski/snowboard with more are and indoor resort
A classic for the tri-state area. We'll groomed trails and great for all levels.
It was a wonderful experience many people helping me through my first time skiing and I learned alto during a short time.
Great for the family or with friends. Came here for the weekend and it was nonstop fun. Highly recommended!!
1 of the greatest places I have ever taken my family to. Very family friendly for kids and a great time for adults. Camelback water park is great and a fun time with lots of fun things to do. But the real hidden gem was the indoor water park. The resort was very clean and easy to axis the rooms and pay for thing with your wristband. The staff was very nice. We can't wait to go there this winter.
During the week this is a great place to ski. It is close to home and there is enough acreage for a full day. The staff is most friendly including everyone from buying a lift ticket to equipment to folks in the bar. I don't know anything about the weekend but I'll be back next year with a season pass for the weekdays.
Very good climates and attractions are good for children
Skiing for the first time. Never attempt it without any lessons. I would recommend to go for lessons and get comfortable with your skis, then get on the field.
Camelback is the best place to enjoy every weekend if you love skiing. Still learning so I can enjoy skiing.
A family oriented place with many activities to keep little ones happy. Better organization needed at the food court.
My family and friends had a great time at Camelback's outdoor Water Park this summer. Good prices with a group rate, safe and relaxed atmosphere, and lots of fun for all ages.
Excellent getaway and great value if you purchase the season pass.
Ski ok,carefully with the good places at ski areas, overpriced, and low quality, do not post prices, something strange going on at the registers?????,ask about prices, the Italian restaurant is very good
When we first arrived our reservation was messed they charged our card twice. Plus some staff act like they dont speak
English, not worth the money not satisfied customer. The customer service over phone was more helpful than staff at the resort.
Great midweek rates and less crowded lines. Also cheaper to go after 3. Mountain is completely lit and there s a bar/restaurant def a recommended. Nile mile is amazing for those just getting comfortable with snowboarding.
Wonderful location, always a pleasant place to be. Staff is good and very accommodating.
Called multiple times, weeks ahead of time, to schedule private lessons. Was told to just show up and it would be fine. Got there at 9am on a non-holiday Tuesday and after buying a lift ticket (also asked if lessons were available and the ticket window person said that there was) and getting rentals we were told there were no private lessons available. We asked for a refund and they would not give us one...not even a pass to come back on a different day.
First time sking there. Line was very long for tickets. I liked the large map of trails because it made it easy to know where to ski. Premium parking is the best way to go otherwise you wait for shuttle.
Employees are super helpful and everyone is mindful of Covid-19 safety. Lots of options for beginners.
Huge shout to the mountain ops team that kept trails open despite horrible rain on 12/20 and 12/21. Also, wonderful staff at the repair/service shop and in guest services. Slopes held up despite the weather. Base lodge had plenty of space and various options for food (nothing that will blow your mind or that is a real value, but got the job done).
Pros: mountain ops kept slopes open under tough conditions, good variety of slopes (some cruisers as well as more challenging stuff like Rocket and Asp), good staff, options for food and retail.
Cons: lots of knuckleheads and people who aren't skilled enough to be bombing down trails, leads to surprising amount of crashes, and needing to avoid trails strewn with bodies of folks wiped out. Not the fault of the mountain, but know you'll encounter some surprises at times (and yes all mountains have this issue, but just a LOT on the days we were there).
Great place to visit. Great slopes and activities. Family fun. Fun for all, kids and adults alike. Lots of things to do. Always have a great time here. Would like to be more food places nearby but overall it's a great spot to have good times.
Very overcrowded on weekends (during daylight hours) and during holidays. Evenings are much better, but slopes are very icy. Some lifts never open, and some close early. Generally, the harder the slope and the later in the day, the less people. Snowboarders are a real pain monopolizing (i.e. sitting in the middle of) most runs. However, it's a great value with season passes. Parking may be a challenge, but shuttle service is good. If you rent equipment, be prepared for an hour wait. Good place to learn skiing. The lodge is becoming run down.
+2 good number of slopes of different level.
-1 Slopes terrain gets icy with time. Depends on weather probably.
-1 Rental boots did not fit good and could not find ones that would. May be because they are used.
+1 No issues with quality - nothing broke or fell off.
-2 Service experience. Can not extend tickets for next day. Lockers spread over area, guess where is #2031. They do not keep rental equipment overnight. Online payment did not go through. Slippery pedestrian areas, they clean ice, but not perfect.
-0.5 Pricy. 130 per weekend day. Rental, tickets.
-1 Loud and annoying "music". Everywhere except mountain top. No place to relax while getting warm.
-1 do not expect good food.
0 staff friendliness. I do not care.
Really packed on holidays. Ski conditions were very icy. No real place to store ski bags. Bathrooms smelled horrific in the dining hall.
Absolutely fabulous! Our family including 6 adults and 3 children come here every year. The entire staff was extremely nice and pleasant. There is so much to do for every age, it was a non stop weekend. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the water park is awesome, as well as the game room and snow tubing. We had dinner at Trails End, breakfast at the buffet and lunches at the water park and Graffiti Pizza. All very good.
Went for skiing and the workers are so nice. I wish season pass policies were better but overall great
Our family LOVES Camelback Mountain and skis here every year. This year, we researched Camelback and felt comfortable with their COVID-19 policy. Now here, we are very concerned to see that most skiers are not wearing masks with zero enforcement or effort to distance people amid crowded conditions at the lifts. It's total superspreader conditions. Even more concerning, my kids posted comments on social media asking why so many people were allowed to ski maskless. Camelback's social media team deleted their comments and blocked them. It really makes me question Camelback's transparency and commitment to keeping guests safe. I'll be skipping Camelback until the pandemic is over.
Went here for a day of skiing on 12/27/18. Great customer service experience, as the ticketing agent allowed me to rent poles even though I was in a ticket only line. Lines for tickets were extremely long, which required a total wait time of 30 minutes. Many ticket lines were not open that should have been due to high volume. Most trails were open. Snow quality was good. Trails very crowded, increasing risk of injury for all skiers and boarders.
This is an amazing water park. The staff is so friendly and nice and patient and amazing with kids and special needs people. Our day got rained out and they were wonderfully accommodating and gave us vouchers. Definitely coming back here again!
Great skiing and snowboarding mountain, lots of trails and amazing accommodations.
Hands down the best place to ski and snowboard in the NJ, PA area! Trails are well kept, the summer water park is always a blast just the lodge food it well over priced
Security was great!!! Staff was very friendly, definitely a great place to visit for all ages.
Omg the fun we have unbelievable. It's a good place for the entire family.
Been going for years. Glad they're reasonable and have been offered cheaper lift tickets on weekends when fewer trails are open
Quaint resort. The skiing isn't too bad here, but like all the other hills in NJ, it's a pretty small ski area and the trails are quite short. The bar at the bottom of the trails is nice as well.
Let me start off by saying the Camelback lodge and water park web site is very vague on what its doing for covid. when you call they say everything is open the website has pictures and videos saying everything is open it has pictures of the indoor waterbar portraying the illusion that everything is up and running, so they can continue to charge full price. Which is already over priced in the first place even if everything was open and in working order, but it isnt food is horrible and extremely overpiced. 35$ for a 4oz fatty slice of steak with a side of what equal to mcdonalds fries at trails end pub. Don't get me started on the water park... On their site it makes it seem like theres so many slides. 2 of the 8 are shut down the park is extremely understaffed, rusty pipes, and rusty fans everywhere. Parking is 25$ a day which they wont tell you they are charging you for until you see it on a bank statement. Breakfast in bed is $16 + taxes and fees a day per person...It doesn't get delivered to you in bed, and you pay that for some cheap pancakes and eggs and soggy bacon. The arcade spent 50 dollars and litterally played maybe 15 games and was out of credits. I can't name one thing i enjoyed about this vacation, and from talking to other guest no 1 else seemed very happy either. I get covid is going on but dont charge full price if 50% of your attractions are shut down. I basically payed a arm and a leg to lay in my hotel room every night and watched movies from my phone, and like everything else the tvs are messed up. The tv guide doesn't display anything that is on. 1 star rating.
Excellent resort. Lines not to long, quick lifts. Food court is good for a quick bite or sit down restaurants on mountain nice for a longer meal and drink.
My family vacationed at Camelback last season. It took me half a year to write this review. This is why. We were in the lazy river, the dark, over crowded lazy river, when a young child (3 or 4) floated by face up underwater. 2 seconds of shock later, my husband grabbed the child and tried to give him to a lifeguard. The lifeguard did nothing. Nothing at all. My husband ran to get help. It was awful. We hope and pray the little boy made it ok. We don t know. Camelback has not been responsive to our inquires. Our family loves to ski, board and play in the water, but we won t go back to Camelback. I urge you to look for a resort with integrity where safety is valued and human life respected.
We always have a great time there. Slopes and facilities are well maintained. The new lodge is very nice too.
We went there to take my 5yrs old to ride the roller coaster he loved it alot
Came here for a day trip. Long wait times.. we were told to buy in advance.. but they kept selling tix.. way over capacity for what they had open.. 30-40 mins to get a bottle of water.. why a joke .. never coming back
This was a shot in the dark for our family to go to Camelback Resort. After reviewing the website and other online posts we decided that Camelback offered a great deal and plan for off-season tourists. Our family of 7 loaded up the van and took a three hour drive to stay over night and to enjoy the water park as well as the snow tubing. This place did not disappoint-our family loved it! We would definitely try to make it back here again!
Camelback has great trails and is so close to NYC. I learned a lot about skiing here and I look forward to coming back to the mountain next winter season.
I enjoyed the services but the staff could have been more engaged
Service was pretty good everything seems to be extreamly over priced. Water park was great so was the mountain. Not to much to complain about over all was a good stay.
Fast ticket line and equipment rental. Various trails for difference levels. Great snow conditions.
